Mad, how can you say ST is stupid? It's hilarious! It was the best sci-fi of the 60's ... it's classic

Yes Mitth, I did. I'd hate to get their feelings hurt with a dedicated topic to bashing them though

Hold down the "Ctrl" key to select units one at a time, hold down the "Shift" key and select units "between" the first and second "clicks" (Be careful when selecting so you get the same type of unit for the mission, as mixing units will not let the mission proceed). If for example for get one spy droid in a group of commandos, just hold down the "Ctrl" key and click on the spy droid. He'll be dropped from the selected group. The "Ctrl" and "Shift" keys are like "toggle switches for on/off" when you click. Experiment a bit and you'll get the hang of it. When you right click for the mission: select a destination (planet/system) for an espionage mission select a character for an assassination/abduction/rescue mission select an object (facility or ship or unit) for a sabotage mission As for your last question: Since you are having a problem selecting more than one unit, a mission won't work if that one unit is a decoy (a decoy for what? you only had one unit selected, either that one unit does the mission or there is no mission, it can't be a decoy for nobody. Get it? ) So, the "Ctrl" and "Shift" keys solve your multiple units on a mission problem, which then solves your decoy problem. Good Luck!

Not good (also, killing patients with experimental procedures is not considered good PR). Perhaps, the robot needs to deploy "arms/legs/pincers/whatever" from its body to do its job. Those appendages need to rotate on a hinge. How do I know my hinge will work? Test a simple hinge; let's say on a pair of miniature sunglasses What about the structure making up the frame of the robot shell? If I use curved beams for support, will they be strong enough? How about on the miniature sunglasses, the frames be made from the same cross-section as the beams and testing them Now, how to remove that built up "plaque" on the artery walls without damaging the arteries themselves? How about using an ultra-sonic cleaning device like they use to clean jewelry To test this we could build a nano-guitar to see if the "strings" will vibrate correctly to produce the necessary effect, maybe a nano-tuning fork would be better Let's test the nano-guitar first and then later the nano-tuning fork One could go on and on with different scenarios. Test and re-test to make sure you have everything as best as possible. Plenty of todays common appliances/vehicles/medical gadgets/etc. are improved versions on older models that at one time started off as a "prototype". A prototype (and sometimes several prototypes) to prove that certain aspects of a design would work, or to get them to work as best as possible, before mass producing for the commercial market. In ten years time, if these items would lead to a nanite procedure for killing cancer, would you then consider it a "waste"?

I agree with Tofu. Making glasses for flies is ridiculous! Haven't these scientists ever heard of LASIK! [/wise old monk mode on] "one must learn how to crawl before they can run" [/wise old monk mode off]

Who says I'm "hitting" on Natalie? You Tofu? How juvenile Just because she's got a hot bod and terrible SW scripts, doesn't mean she's a bad actress. And "flirting" isn't a crime (which I'm not saying I'm doing, just stating it) ... and now you've got Jahled and his teddybears all worked up!

Which fan films have you seen that were miserable Tofu? I've only seen: Troops, IMPS, Broken Allegiance and Pink 5; they were all good. I hope you saved your "Wikket's Quest" books, they're probably worth a bunch by now

This better NOT be animated, but to do a TV series without expensive costs for special effects and actors, it looks like cartoonville. Unless this is going to show on HBO or something, you probably aren't going to see too many people getting killed by Darth. Want to take a guess on the age of the target audience?

No, no, no, you guys got it all wrong ... it's the rap-video directors fault, plus the "song writer" (even you could really use that title here ). Who in their right mind writes excrement like that? And to force poor Natalie to ... to ... sing/rap that stuff. It was pure torture. I bet she would have preferred to be personally interogated on a date by Nute Gunray himself. Day 1700, current status: After the successful destruction of the Imperial Home Fleet around Coruscant, I have broken my fleet into 5 fleets. Four of the fleets will go into the Imperial controlled sectors: Sesswenna, Corellian, Fakir and Dolomar. The 5th fleet will remain in orbit around Coruscant. Since the Fakir sector has been the least raided and has the greatest number of enemy starfighters, the fleet going there has some extra fighters and the majority of gunships. The Dolomar sector has been raided thoroughly, but has many new facilities constructed, but not too many starfighters. Therefore, the fleet going there is heavily reinforced with infiltrators and corvettes. As I am short on fighters, the fleet blockading Coruscant will have none and the Sesswenna fleet will be short some. They will have to wait for replacements that are enroute to Uvena. Following is the fleet configurations: Coruscant fleet: 2 Neb-B frigates, 1 interdictor, 1 Liberator cruiser, 2 escort carriers. Sesswenna fleet: 1 assault frigate, 1 interdictor, 1 Neb-B frigate, 1 escort carrier, 2 Liberator cruisers and only 6 X-wings.. Corellian fleet: 2 gunships, 2 interdictors, 2 Liberator cruisers, 1 assault frigate and 12 X-wings. Fakir fleet: 5 gunships, 3 assault frigates, 3 Liberator cruisers, 2 interdictors, 1 escort carriers and 24 X-wings. Dolomar fleet: 4 corvettes, 3 Neb-B frigates, 1 interdictor and 6 X-wings. The Alliance war machine continues to crank out fighters, capital ships, troops, spec. forces, etc. Only a last few ASY's are being constructed, otherwise only mines/refineries are being produced. Most of my time is managing spy missions on Imperial systems with shipyards and a few select Alliance systems (these systems are the single rebel presence in Imperial controlled sectors). All of the fleets have been dispersed to their assigned sectors. The Fakir fleet is first heading to Drall to pick up additional fighters before heading back out. Sesswenna fleet activity: Since the Sesswenna fleet is already in place, I have sent them to investigate the Imperial Morvogodine system in the Calaron sector (outer rim, but nearby). I'm mildly surprised to catch a Vic ISD and 10 Defenders here. After a brief battle with the Imperial fleet (of course they lost), I sent down my spies to see what the Empire has been doing here in the outer rim. Again, I'm surprised to find 9 ASY's! But, unfortunately nothing is being built. As a bonus though, there is a strike cruiser enroute. After a brief battle (the strike cruiser held up pretty good to the assault frigate, until all of the X-wings arrived), I sent Adar Tallon and Roget Jiriss to sabotage the single Gen Core. Their mission is foiled and Adar Tallon is now injured. I try a bombardment on the garrison anyway, but it's futile as nothing happens. The next stop for this fleet is Nam'ta in the Atrivis sector (the only other Imperial system in the outer rim). Corellian fleet activity: The Corellian and Fakir fleets arrive at Drall. After taking on some fighters, the Fakir fleet is off to the Delaya system (last location of a large gathering of Imperial ships!). I send the fleet to Xyquine to scout out the system. There are no ships in orbit or fighters for defense. I send down some spies. There is a carrack currently under construction, and it's fairly well along (about 70%). Instead of diverting the attention of the AI away from its shipbuilding program, I send the fleet back to Drall, to sit and wait. Spy missions continue to go out throughout the sector to get updated info. The SSD at Tralus is maybe 10% complete, and Duros has started construction of an ISD II (number 3). The other 2 SSD’s are under construction in the Fakir sector on Berchest and Carida, and are both under 10% complete. ISD II (number 2) is 15% complete on Chandrilla in the Sesswenna sector, and I can’t find ISD II (number 1). Fakir fleet activity: My fleet arrives at Delaya to find it defended by 1 Tie Defender; so much for the large Imperial fleet. Delaya is mostly (~60%) Alliance supported, but under Imperial control. I have sent Orrimaarko, Tura Raftican and Mazer Rackus to take out a Dark Trooper regiment, and a couple dozen infiltrators after another. As both missions succeed, Delaya is now in uprising. Delaya will soon be the first Alliance system in this sector. Sluis sector: Intelligence has reported an ISD enroute to Kothlis. I've dispatched a small fleet (1 interdictor, 3 Liberator cruisers with X-wings) to intercept and destroy it. On the day of the battle, I let the capital ships duke it out for a while. The Liberator cruisers have pretty good shields, put they just don't have the firepower to really challenge an ISD. RELEASE the X-wings! The X-wings swarm in, shooting up the ISD. The ISD doesn't last too long after that. It only takes about half a dozen volleys of missiles and such before the ISD explodes. One of the Liberator cruisers has shield damage, put that's about it. I send the fleet back to Sluis Van. I now have a Bulwark Battlecruiser under construction there. Dolomar fleet activity: I've sent out several spy missions and am awaiting results to see where to best apply my fleet. Soon some info comes in about Sarka. There are 2 dreadnaughts enroute and will arrive on day 1708. I've sent my fleet in advance to surprise them. Sarka is undefended, so my fleet parks in orbit awaiting its target. Also, info has come in on about an ISD over Balfron. I'll deal with him shortly. Coruscant fleet: I'm surprised to find a large Imperial fleet has dropped out of hyperspace to break my blockade. This (apparently) is the large fleet that was gathering at Delaya in the Fakir sector. The Imperial fleet consists of: 2 Vic ISD's, 1 striker cruiser, 1 dreadnaught, 3 carracks, 1 interdictor and 2 lancers. I'm severely outgunned here, especially without my fighter replacements. I order the 2 Neb-B's and Liberator cruiser to go after the Imperial interdictor. The interdictor and escort carriers I order to take out the Imperial fighters, as they will be harassing my attack group. I hope to destroy the interdictor, and escape with whatever remains of my fleet. As my first Neb-B comes under fire, my support group sits around, stuck, doing nothing like they have a cactus up their rear. I NEED FIRE ON THE IMPERIAL FIGHTERS! But screaming doesn't help, as my Neb-B gets blown away. My other Neb-B turns, and tries to escape. WHERE ARE YOU GOING? YOU CAN'T GET AWAY. FIRE ON THE INTERDICTOR! I order the support group to fire on the interdictor; forget about the fighters. They move out, but instead of attacking the interdictor, they go after the strike cruiser. ARE YOU IDIOTS? YOU WON'T MAKE A DENT IN HIS SHIELDS! Alas, all is lost as my fleet succumbs to chaos. I painfully watch as each ship is blown to bits by the Imperial fleet. My spec. forces on the fleet have also been lost, but my command staff has survived. General Crix Madine has successfully escaped to Uvena, but Commader Afyon and Admiral Syub Snunb have been captured! The blockade of Coruscant has been broken by the Imperial fleet. The Imperial fleet leaves Coruscant heading to … I don’t know. The Imperial fleet has sufficient firepower to take on any one of my sector fleets. It would probably take two of my sector fleets to soundly defeat this Imperial fleet, but I hate the thought of leaving my bases without some support. I will have to wait a little longer and throw my new attack fleet that has been gathering at Phraetiss at them. My growing attack fleet consists of: 1 interdictor, 3 Dauntless cruisers, 3 Liberator cruisers, 1 interdictor and 1 escort carrier, and loaded with a mixture of B-wings and X-wings. I have just received some new intelligence showing the Imperial fleet is currently orbiting Ghorman, and there is an additional striker cruiser enroute. Maybe I should join my attack fleet with the Sesswenna fleet, before attacking the Imperial fleet. But, I need my attack fleet completed first. Nothing to do but wait now … My overall plan is now reduced to: 1) Harass the Imperial Navy. 2) Assault Coruscant (and win the game) Alliance headquarters is still at the G'rho system in the Xappyh sector. 924

And "its" should be "it's". Make your i's capital I's. All of this BEAKing and warnings for fear of BEAKing, sure generates lots of SPAM I could triple my post count with corrections. Luckily I don't like wasting my time correcting others for every single little thing that happens by. Plus I'm not sure if the "post-ers" would learn from their mistakes.

I was reading part of the manual about missions, but of course this exact subject and question are not mentioned. From what I could gather, the more characters you have on a mission the better the likelihood of the mission succeeding. But, the character that makes the mission succeed gets all the credit (i.e. stat increase) and the other characters get nada. So, if you have all 3 ship R&D guys combined on a single mission, the chances are they will succeed more often when the chance presents itself, but only 1 of the 3 will have an increase in their R&D ability. Does this make R&D go faster? I would say in an extremely long game (a couple of thousand days), yes, but since there are NOT enough ship types to research ... no. So, my final answer is NO; combining characters in research does not make researching go faster than with 3 separate missions running simultaneously. It all depends on when and how often the game presents those chances (and I don't think there is a way to influence this without getting the source code). If it was possible to have a couple dozen (24-36) additional ship types researched, then I would change my answer (just based on statistics alone). Now, does that answer your questions? (* On the tangent topic *) It is difficult to actively search for traitors. You need Darth or Jedi Luke to go on a mission with every character. And you would have to continually do this because you don't know "when" a character will go bad, plus all of the wasted time getting the character and Darth/Luke together to begin with. The best thing to do is keep an "eye" on those missions that fail and see if the same people are on those missions. If so, send them to do a mission with Darth or Jedi Luke to verify your assumptions. Of course, if things are going badly for you in the game, you may find quite a few traitors
-
Are you sure Mad? I thought if popular support got better and your side started winning, a traitor could be brought back to the "right side". If the traitor has the ability to have a command rank, then make them an officer (Admiral, General, Commander) somewhere. When given a "rank" a traitor will cease to give info to the enemy (it's in the manual, although this sounds contradictory to me).

Master_Xan wrote: Star Wars Rebellion is the American title for the game, and Star Wars Supremacy is the UK title for the game. It is the same game, just different titles. Most of the stuff in the manual is pretty basic, so some of the times you have to "experience" events to catch on to what they were trying to explain. And if you have specific questions about something, try the index. Of course that doesn't mean you'll find an answer or if you do, a satisfactory answer. That's what the forums are for

That really sucks sour lollipops. Was the character at least a "command" person? I wonder if that would make them a Sith then?
