  1. I like at the very end, "we still have to find the nephew ... Duke?" I haven't watched the Holiday Special yet (50 minutes! I don't know if I have that much time of my life to waste )
  2. Plus there's your fellow Floridian Thumper

  4. Thanks Krytos That reminds me, I need to buy new tires for my pickup (I have this awful "bumping" noise when I drive. I think it's from the ATV stuck in the tread )
  5. Mitth_raw_nuruodo wrote: I don't remember that , but it's been sooo long since I read those books ... I remember Luke fighting Shimrra, then Jacen and/or Jania bypassing the fight to get to Onimi. And I remember Luke using two lightsabers (the other was Anakin Solo's I believe) and decapitating Shimrra, I just don't remember the Force Lightning from Luke. Oh well, time to dig that book out and re-read that section again ...
  6. If you're going to draw some sketches Mad, do a Darth Maul PC sketch for me
  7. @Def: Where'd the Mon Cal come from? My assumption was the Swift was a Corellian Corvette. Who thinks in terms of individual starfighters in Rebellion? I only think in terms of squadrons and damaged squadrons.
  8. I have to go with the Qui-Gon & Obi vs Maul fight. Two Jedi (padawan and should-be-Master) vs. a Sith, how awesome! All AoTC duels sucked bantha dung. Although I liked Yoda showing up for Dooku, it just didn't pan out eloquently. RoTS had nice duels though. My runner ups are definitely ESB and RoTJ (Luke & Darth Vader). Although Luke wasn't a full "Jedi", those duels laid out the ground work for all others to follow.
  9. Zer_Teron wrote: I'm not sure how to take that ... for my enjoyment or to see me beat Right now I'm assuming all three are under construction. Number 3 is definitely UC (under construction) and has absolutely NO progress bar. I must have got lucky to get my info just as the Imp SY started. As for the other two, I'll find them but I don't think they'll be too far along.
  10. I liked your story, but there was one minor inconsistency: Unless you have an enhanced Imperial Escort Carrier (and you can with RedEd, but this isn't mentioned), there should only be a total of 6 Imperial fighters. But an estimated 13 were destroyed before others were recalled to the Imp carrier, and then jump out. Oops! Don't take this the wrong way, I like the story. I'm just a stickler for details and consistency . Keep up the good work

  13. (*** cough ***) (*** hack ***) (*** cough ***)(*** cough ***) (BUMP ) Sorry about stirring up all this dust plus cobwebs and such, but this is the most recent thread regarding ship names (AND there are several other older ones), but this seemed as good a spot as any to ask my question. (*** waves more dust out of the way ***) Does anyone know where the list of ship names used by Rebellion is located, and a good way to access it? And I'm talking about the ships the AI controls when you play whatever side. Does anybody have a handy list? I'm guessing that the names are somehow delineated by ship type. What I'm looking to do is find the list of ship names used in the game and edit them to names I would prefer. My curret guess would be to use Resource Hacker, but that's only a guess. I don't remember seeing anything about this subject when others were working on their TC's, and my "search" in the forums fell flat. Also, it would be nice (although at present time, impossible) to just have the game name my ships with the names already buried in the code instead of the Ship-Type-Number name. Any ideas?
  14. It's been over a month since the ISD III attacked the moon base, but it seems like a year. Things have been quiet planet side since returning from the moon, maybe … too quiet. I guess Furball has been laying low since he shot his wad at Q-branch and lost. But something just doesn't seem right. I'm sure there's something going on and I just have to find it. It's time to go and surf the internet … I haven't really found anything, but keep looking. My computer beeps at me "Incoming message". It's from a "watcher" from out in deep west Texas, and the message is brief; EDS. EDS? What's that, some Furball project or weapon? My mind starts racing: Energy Defense Shields? Extra Durable Ship? Extremely Deadly Sith? Enhanced Death Star? Oh shit! That would definitely put a crimp on moon base operations. I better quit guessing and start searching for facts. I've tracked something down. The hairs on my neck tingle. Sithdung! This is quite scary. I better forward this information and all relevant location data to Major Mitth ASAP. For deep in the wilderness of west Texas at an abandoned ranch, there sits a complex of barns and processing buildings. There, Furball has devised a most sinister plan; a plan to manipulate all of mankind using our own weaknesses against us. Having lost in a direct attack against us, we'll be attacked indirectly through … our own mistakes. This is so crazy it might actually work. I beginning to think I should be worried. EDS
  15. Day 1632, current status: The Empire is on a massive capital ship building campaign. There are approximately a dozen shipyards producing dreadnaughts and strike cruisers. But this maybe too little too late; for the Empire is on the verge of collapse. For the last 125 days I’ve had all of my construction yards producing mines/refineries, and all shipyards busy producing fighters and capital ships. I’ve been directing my fleets through the core systems upgrading and loading up on starfighters, infiltrators, spies and characters. Two major fleets joined up in the Fakir sector (my fleet from Sluis Van joined my raiding fleet already in this sector), and then proceeded to Drall for further resupply. I’ve avoided an Imperial fleet assembling at Delaya (2 lancers, 2 carracks, 2 strike cruisers, 1 dreadnaught, 1 interdictor, 1 Vic ISD). I’m sure I can take them, but I don’t want any delays for my big upcoming mission. My other fleet has gone to Caprionril in the Dolomar sector to pickup stockpiled spec forces. All fleets are due to meet at Uvena on day 1622 for the assault on Coruscant. I’ve left the fleets as two separate fleets for the assault with Han Solo and Ackbar as admirals, Talon Karrde and Wedge as Commanders, and Crix Madine and Adar Tallon as generals. My total fleet consists of: 5 assault frigates, 6 Neb-B’s, 8 Liberator carriers, 5 escort carriers, 7 interdictors, 8 gunships, 4 corvettes, with 90 starfighters. Recent intelligence reports that Coruscant is defended by: 3 ISD’s, 2 Vic ISD’s, 1 striker cruiser, 3 dreadnaughts, 1 interdictor, 4 escort carriers, 2 carracks, 1 lancer, and 70 starfighters. My fleet departs to meet its destiny … The battle is joined! The computer sure has a weird way of organizing task forces (7 of them), but I’ll work with what is has provided. My four fighter groups consist of 2 groups of 27 X-wings, 1 group of 30 B-wings, and 1 group of 6 A-wings. I sent 4 assault frigates against an ISD, the remaining assault frigate plus the Neb-B’s against another ISD, The B-wings against the final ISD, 2 groups of X-wings against the 2 Vic ISD’s, all of the Liberator carriers are against the striker cruiser, with the A-wings and all other ships pulling anti-fighter duty. Approximately half the Imperial fighters are deployed, and it takes awhile for the remaining fighters to launch from their ships. There is a loooonnngggg multicolored trail of fighters heading toward the Imperial fleet. The Imperial fighters have overshot my fighters and now need time to regroup to follow. My gunships and corvettes are fast approaching and already firing into the swarm of enemy fighters. The X-wings and B-wings are starting to make their runs as the capital ships fire off their first salvos. The X-wings and B-wings are having a devastating impact on the ISD’s. There is a constant barrage of messages from the computer; mostly about B-wings and Ties being destroyed. It’s practically non-stop. As the X-wings and B-wings finish their targets, I redirect them to the dreadnaughts. The assault frigates and Neb-B’s have finally finished with their targets and I direct them to attack any Imperial capital ship. The B-wings are taking a beating, and their firepower is starting to drop off. I redirect 1 group of X-wings to help the B-wings, and the other group of X-wings to get what’s left of the Ties. The remaining Imperial support ships are no match for the firepower of my fleet, and they too are soon vanquished! The entire Imperial Home Defensive fleet is decimated, with minor losses to my own fleet. I’ve lost the 6 A-wings and all 30 B-wings, but not any of the X-wings. One gunship and one assault frigate have some battle damage, and that’s it. Quite the rout! I turn my attention to Coruscant itself. First thing is the bombardment of military targets. There went the LNR and KDY batteries, the two Gen Cores and a dozen garrison troops (mostly stormtroopers). I have several spec force missions to deploy. The first consists of 41 infiltrators with 8 decoys to capture the Emperor, the second consists of 54 infiltrators with 20 decoys to rescue Luke, and two missions of 20 spies to get info. It only takes a few days to get some results. The Emperor has been captured! After that Luke has escaped! The world is looking mighty nice right about now! If only I had brought the 4 bulk transports with troops, then this game would be over. Good thing I left them at Uvena! Some interesting intelligence has come in: The Imperial fleet at Delaya has broken up and redeployed to a number of different systems. AND … there is an SSD under construction at Carida! AND … it’s number 3! I can’t wait to find its siblings! I think I’ll break my 2 fleets into 5 fleets, then search the four main Imperial core sectors for the remaining Imperial fleets. One fleet will remain in orbit of Coruscant. My overall plan is now reduced to: 1) Re-deploy my fleet into four separate fleets (for the Sesswenna, Corellian, Fakir and Dolomar sectors) to eliminate remaining Imperial ships, plus be a local base of operations for sector missions. 2) Assault Coruscant (and win the game) I still have dozens of star fighters in production, not too mention a half dozen Liberator carriers and 3 Dauntless cruisers. My main direction of attack against Imperial systems will be to retrieve any Alliance prisoners and destroy all ATF’s (they-the Empire, don’t need to be distracted from building more capital ships for me to destroy). I’ll try and avoid weakening any Imperial systems that might distract the AI from rearming (at least for now). Now that this game is all but in the bag, I want to see what spectacular final battles the Empire can throw my way. Alliance headquarters is still at the G'rho system in the Xappyh sector. Maybe I should move it to a core sector? That might get some things kicking. 771
  16. I've seen that video before, somebody posted it in another Forum topic awhile back. Unfortunately, I don't remember who or what topic. But I'm thinking it was ... maybe ... Mad? There was also a video of a French guy having extreme difficulty with a 5 foot wall
  17. FPS = feet per second
  18. As for the desk, everybody think Nash did it. Only Nash thinks otherwise. If he stopped taking his meds (as you stated), it wouldn't matter if objects/people were fake or not, his mind would make everything seem real, even touching non-existent things would feel real.
  19. It would be a lot easier attaching your lightsaber to a cordless drill and just squeezing the trigger

  22. Master_Xan wrote: What a waste (*** skakes head ***). I like having the shields & keep those babies fully charged (as much as possible). When you get involved in a big furball (dogfight), the last thing you want is for some stray shot that was meant for somebody else, to cross the galaxy and then ruin your day. When you're behind a rebel ship with shields, you have to take them out first to kill your target. While you're whittling down his shields, all of his buddies are taking pot shots at you. Also, I like to use the shields as a laser cannon backup battery. When your laser power starts to drop off and you can't wait for the recharge; drain the shields some to top off your laser cannon power Usually at mission start I turn shields & lasers way up to get as much charge as possible. When it's time to engage, I'll put shields at "normal" and lasers "up 1 or 2" to keep charging. If/when the lasers are fully charged, I'll drain some into the shields as time permits. I usually don't use the tractor beam too much though.
  23. Do they have a mini-gun version available (i.e. in the Predator movie)?

  25. Tofu, I don't think Anakin, Luke or Mace are the best examples ... they all got their hands (or more) chopped off
