  1. I've been to that site before on several occasions. There are definitely interesting things to learn there From me J: great reminder
  2. I have a THX set of the OT (VHS widescreen), but I'm not sure if it was the special edition or not. I'll have to find it and see ... maybe I'll still have Han shooting first!
  3. Of course I remember D&D. There are lots of fond (and funny) memories there ... Alas, the gaming group has dispersed ... and the adult concerns of RL have taken over ... Great GIF J!
  4. Mitth wrote: You are correct. Except for sabotage missions aimed at secondary items (Gen Cores, commandos, droids, etc), I haven't been "sticking it" to the Empire for worry of distracting the AI from building up its fleets. I've avoided raiding Imperial systems because then resources would then have to de diverted producing replacement garrison troops and defensive fighters. This brings up an interesting idea Since I have already captured Palpy and Darth, all I need to do is assualt Coruscant to win (which I could do at anytime). Perhaps I should "fall back" to a couple of outer rim sectors, heavily fortify them and let the Empire "reclaim" the core sectors and what other outer rim sectors they want. Then at the height of their new found power, send in a strike fleet for the final blow at Coruscant (I might have to raid Coruscant occasionally to keep the defenses from growing too much). Can you image this: the Empire controlling the core sectors and half of the outer rim, let's say 2/3 of the entire galaxy. Then an enemy fleet shows up at the capital system, assualts it and wins. The forces of the Empire would be much stronger than mine, they "control" most of the galaxy, and then ... they lose I might use a "savegame slot" for that scenario. But, I really want to start a new game where the outcome isn't so obvious. Besides, I have plans for an aggressive upgrade for the AI (as the Empire) so it can kick my butt (or hopefully try) But, I must close out this game first.
  5. That's Mr. Geezer to you young whipper snapper! Of course I would have the most modern upgrades and a total rebuild from the keel up. The Victory III Star Destroyer
  6. For me, I like the ISD Mark II. The ISD II represents order in the chaos. The mere presence strikes fear in any enemy; powerful and yet flexible with mission types. Though personally, I'm not the oppressive Imperial type
  7. Day 1900, current status: After the destruction of my fleet over Coruscant, I’ve been concentrating on finishing my attack fleet. I’ve turned over garrison production and mine/refinery production to C3PO. My attack fleet is now complete with: 1 interdictor, 3 Dauntless cruisers, 3 Liberator cruisers and 1 escort carrier, and loaded with a mixture of B-wings and X-wings. The attack fleet has departed for Uvena. Command of the attack fleet will be given to Admiral Han Solo and Commander Tallon Karrde. Both are currently in the Corellian sector, but have been dispatched to Uvena. In the mean time, I have finally eliminated the remaining Imperial garrison on Delaya in the Fakir sector. Delaya is now the first Alliance system in this sector (ever). My main ASY’s in the outer rim are mass-producing fighters for defense of the system and replacements for the Fakir fleet. There are currently 6 X-wings with 21 more being made, plus 6 A-wings with 19 more being made, plus 18 B-wings being made. At Sluis Van in the Sluis sector, I am gathering another fleet with 2 Bulwark battle cruisers and 2 more Dauntless cruisers under construction. I have a good supply of fighters here. At Wistril in the Farfin sector, I’m working on 4 more Liberator cruisers and several B-wings. I’m progressing on the improvement of my sector fleets for any possible engagements with the Imperial SSD’s currently under construction. Shortly before my attack fleet is to arrive at Uvena, I get an updated intelligence report the Imperial fleet (that decimated my fleet at Coruscant) is no longer in orbit at Ghorman. I’m scrambling to send my spies in every sector out to Imperial systems to locate the Imperial Navy. A report shortly comes in showing the Imperial fleet over Coruscant. When my fleet arrives at Uvena and picks up the command staff, I immediately send it onto Coruscant. My arrival at Coruscant is a complete surprise … for me. There are only 3 Imperial ships there: 1 strike cruiser, 1 carrack and 1 interdictor. I send a Dauntless cruiser against each ship. With the exception of the strike cruiser, the Imperial ships are taking a pounding. The striker cruiser is holding its own, barely for now, but slowing going down. I then send all fighters after the strike cruiser. Within a minute the strike cruiser is no more. I have a hunch the main bulk of the Imperial fleet has gone to Morvogodine in the Calaron sector (the secret Imperial ASY base). I send my fleet there. Their arrival finds the remaining Imperial fleet, now trapped by mine. I put each Dauntless cruiser in its own task force, and order all ships and fighters to attack Imperial capital ships at will. All the fighters gang up on a single target. The Imperial fleet is desperately attacking the Dauntless cruisers, but to no avail. Imperial ships are dropping like flies, and soon they are all gone. I send a spy mission down to the planet to see what they’ve been up to since last visiting. To my surprise another SSD is under construction. My other spy missions are coming in with some interesting results: Morvogodine, Calaron sector – 9 ASY’s: SSD 70% complete Chandrilla, Sesswenna sector – 5 ASY’s: ISD II 1% complete Xyquine, Corellia sector – 10 ASY’s: ISD II 95% complete Duros, Corellia sector – 8 ASY’s: empty Tralus, Corellia sector – 8 ASY’s: SSD 75% complete Vagran, Corellia sector – 2 ASY’s: ISD II 5% complete Berchest, Fakir sector – 7 ASY’s: SSD 65% complete Carida, Fakir sector – 9 ASY’s: SSD 70% complete Halowan, Fakir sector – 6 ASY’s: Star Galleon 50% complete Ketaris, Dolomar sector – 2 ASY’s: SSD 2% complete Finding the extra (almost completed) SSD at Morvogodine was a shock. I can only wonder what the AI will do with the SSD’s when they are complete. With some Star Galleons under construction, I think invasion is at the top of their list, but which system? The days just run by, with my main concern spy missions and ship/fighter disbursements throughout the sector fleets. I’ve sent a Bulwark battle cruiser, a Dauntless cruiser and 2 Liberator cruisers (with fighters) to Drall, and a Bulwark battle cruiser, an assault frigate and 2 Liberator cruisers (with fighters) to Delaya. I’ve started construction on two more Bulwark battle cruisers and Dauntless cruisers, plus more B-wings. Following is the latest info on the Imperial Navy: Morvogodine, Calaron sector (in orbit): 1 strike cruiser, 1 carrack, 1 lancer, 1 dreadnaught Morvogodine, Calaron sector – 9 ASY’s: SSD 80% complete Chandrilla, Sesswenna sector – 5 ASY’s: ISD II 15% complete Coruscant, Sesswenna sector (in orbit): 1 ISD II Xyquine, Corellia sector – 10 ASY’s: SSD 2% complete Duros, Corellia sector – 8 ASY’s: strike cruiser 0% Tralus, Corellia sector – 8 ASY’s: SSD 90% complete Vagran, Corellia sector – 2 ASY’s: ISD II 10% complete Berchest, Fakir sector – 7 ASY’s: SSD 75% complete Carida, Fakir sector – 9 ASY’s: SSD 95% complete Halowan, Fakir sector – 6 ASY’s: ISD II 3% complete Ketaris, Dolomar sector – 2 ASY’s: SSD 10% complete The SSD’s are getting close to launching, so hopefully interesting things will soon be coming … My overall plan is now reduced to: 1) Harass the Imperial Navy. 2) Assault Coruscant (and win the game) Alliance headquarters is still at the G'rho system in the Xappyh sector. 1023

  13. Thx Mitth. I try my best.
  14. Yeah, 300,000 is a bit of a stretch even for ST. In my day, the max extreme range was 70,000 km. Man technology just keeps pushing the limits

  19. Giving one radical over to another? How barbaric It seems the more people he upsets, the more stupid things they do, thus getting him even more support. Brilliant idea if you want to consolidate your power.
  20. "contray" or "contrary" Scath? What's a contray anyway? EDIT: I just added the quotes, the word in question wasn't capitalized
  21. The standard turbolaser ... no, but according to wiki, the DBY-827 heavy dual turbolaser in its precise, long-range tracking mode could hit a target vessel at a range of 10 light-minutes (that's 111.6 million miles or 181.35 million kilometers). That sounds a bit far fetched to me, I mean in every battle ever scene (or written about) all the ships are in close proximity (meaning within a dozen or two kilometers maximum). That's like being able to shoot a piece of a grain of sand (~0.025" in diameter) from the moon, and your projectile is the nano-guitar. I'm sticking with the couple of thousand kilometer range myself (~5-10,000 km max, with light damage)

  23. How much is that in CSA money? (CSA = Confederate States of America) My questions would be: Who was the previous owner and what is the damage from the previous mission? Does it come with armaments? If so, live or dummy? If not, why not? What does "civilian configuration" mean? Stripped down? What OEM equipment has been removed? Will you provide delivery?
  24. Yeah J, ST was the mainstream. There were the few "odd" sci-fi shows: U.F.O. (which I believed took place in UK ), and its spin-off SPACE 1999. Ah, the good ol' days of sci-fi ... ... What?! Did I doze off (again)?
