  1. Thanks for telling me the ending Tofu! What other movies can you tell me about so I can skip seeing them?
  2. AdmiralToguroAni wrote: I don't think so. Obi-wan and Mace both stopped Force-lightning with their lightsabers, why couldn't Maul? I think Maul would win. Just because he didn't get as much "film time" as Dooku, doesn't mean he's not capable. He definitely has the combat skills to take on all comers in lightsaber duels Oh yeah, and he had horns!

  4. Friday (2006-02-24) afternoon works best for me. As for the exact time, I'll let you guys set that. I can't gaurantee I'll make it as I will be at work.
  5. Good post Tofu!
  6. @Master_Xan: Thanks for the FYI, but ... it looks OK to me. I've seen this happen before with others avatars. Usually the next time I logged on it seemed to take care of itself.
  7. Mine works fine with IE6
  8. There's music? Oh, that's right ... I turned my off. I'm sure there's a way, but you would do better to ask AdmiralToguroAni (as he has already done a complete TC overhaul), and he probably replaced the music. Good Luck!
  9. I understand you can do whatever you want in your game, but ... 1) why make the A-wing more expensive than the X-wing? From what I recall in reading the EU books, the A-wing was definitely cheaper to make than the X-wing (almost on par to being made out of plywood ). It was supposed to be fast, manuverable and lightly armed/armored, 2) the X-wing has 4 lasers and can carry 6 proton torpedoes while the A-wing has 2 lasers and can carry 16? concussion missiles. Why would the A-wing get more laserpower per you mod than the X-wing? There's no way 16 concussion missiles have the same or more firepower than 6 proton torpedoes. Of course as the Empire, if you hate fighting against A-wings instead of X-wings, then this might make the X-wing the preferred AI fighter. The Tie Defender is kicka$$: more speed than an A-wing, the firepower of a B-wing (3 laser/3 Ion), shields(!) and a hyperdrive! What more could you ask for? Of course they were expensive, but they got the job done. I would say in a way, the Empire learned from the rebels that in the long run it would be cheaper to build more expensive-survivable fighters than multitudes of disposable fighters. Especially when pilots could learn from their mistakes and get even better.
  10. Happy 4000 J
  11. Thanks Mitth. Zer_Teron wrote: You are correct. I forgot to update my list (I was in too much of a hurry to proof read). UPDATE: 1) Avoid Imperial strongholds in the Fakir and Corellian sectors. 2) Destroy the Imperial Fleet at Coruscant (which is the majority of the entire Imperial Navy). 3) Destroy the Shields and garrison at Coruscant 4) Re-deploy my fleet into four separate fleets (for the Sesswenna, Corellian, Fakir and Dolomar sectors) to eliminate remaining Imperial ships, plus be a local base of operations for sector missions (see below). 5) Produce multitudes of spies and infiltrators for each fleet. 6) Search for Darth Vader. 7) Capture Darth Vader/the Emperor 8 ) Rescue Luke Skywalker 9) Assault Coruscant (and win the game) Items is RED are complete and the short version list ... 2) Destroy the Imperial Fleet at Coruscant (which is the majority of the entire Imperial Navy). 3) Destroy the Shields and garrison at Coruscant 7) Capture Darth Vader/the Emperor 9) Assault Coruscant (and win the game)
  12. I guess RMA is out of the question? Find out as much as you can about the video card and check all of the settings. I'm sure Dell did you no favors when configuring it. As for the mysterious swapping processor labels, I have no clues. Check CMOS to see if everythings correct and save (even if you didn't change anything. Maybe the CMOS battery is dying?). Either that or there is a mini-gnome physically swapping chips inside your laptop (depending on the application running, as necessary)
  13. The number at the very end is the number of times this forum has been read. So at a later date I can see how many times a particular "report section" has been read (approximately) by checking the current number versus when I posted.
  14. Day 1500, current status: For the last 100 days I have let all facilities remain idle after completion of their last order. The only exceptions have been the shipyards and some construction yards to make more shipyards. Maintenance has shot up to 2600+ and there is no surplus of raw materials. The Imperial Navy continues to harass my outer rim systems, so in turn I’m going to go harass them … Sesswenna sector: I’m stilling sending out occasional sabotage/spy missions throughout the sector with limited results. The Imperials are throwing a mission at my only system (Uvena) every so often. Infiltrators (22) are stockpiled for the big push on Coruscant. Corellian sector: Because of the Imperial raids in the outer rim, I’ve decided to take my fleet (4 corvettes, 4 Neb-B’s, 3 escort carriers, 3 gunships, 1 assault frigate, 1 interdictor) to raid the Imperial Systems in the Fakir sector. I’ve restocked all destroyed or damaged fighters and sent the fleet to the Dufilvan sector to pick up infiltrators that having been raiding the sector. The fleet will then hit Carida as its first target. Intelligence shows a small Imperial fleet heading to Tralus (1 ISD, 2 escort carriers, 1 interdictor). Of course my fleet has already left the sector. I’m sending my fleet from the Dolomar sector (3 assault frigates, 2 escort carriers, 2 Neb-B's, 3 gunships) to Drall where it can restock on fighters and add an interdictor to the fleet. There are a total of 45 infiltrators and 37 spies stockpiled on Drall. I send some out occasionally to take out targets of opportunity. Corellia has just joined the Empire, so I’ve send 6 spies to see who is responsible. Apparently Darth Vader is working his “magicâ€
  15. Yee Haw Mad! Keep the posts coming!
  16. Watch what you say about Country music Tofu I'll have to hop in my pickup (with a fully loaded gun rack) and set you straight
  17. Maybe that's the holo-vid for when the Emporer's line is ... busy I found this on an old newsletter I get ... This is the winner for the strangest use of someone's time: the original "Star Wars" movie played out in ASCII and accessible via Telnet. Watch it by entering "telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl" (no quotes) into a DOS box. (If you've forgotten how to get a DOS box: Go to Start menu and select Run, then type CMD to get the DOS box. Enter telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl at the cursor.) You have to be connected to the internet to do this

You can root for whoever you want Tofu, that's one of the "benny's" of being an American. Hell, I'll even help move you to Canada!! (*** mumbling: ... and out of America ***). Just make sure you can get GAT to sign you up for the local "Polar Bear Club". You being from Florida and all, will have the most appreciation for the club.
  19. Jahled wrote: So, are you saying: (for example) If the Empire was to produce Bothan spies (instead of espionage droids), had several on an Imperial controlled system that gets assaulted (successfully) by the Rebel Alliance, then those same Bothan spies (previously produced by the Empire) would now be available to use by the Rebel Alliance? I've never tried this. I would have thought that the game would keep track of the "Imperial espionage droid" info throughout the game, regardless of what actual data (pictures and stats) where in the data slots, so that this "unit" would always be Imperial. What happens if you give Neb-B ships to both sides? Can you capture those ships? (although I don't believe this would work).
  20. I found the article; the cartoons previously ran in Egypt. http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=48746
  21. I had heard (this would require further research for confirmation) that the same cartoon(s) had been run 4 months previously in an Islamic country. There were no protests ... nothing. Time goes by. Now put it in a western (non-Islamic) newspaper and all hell breaks loose! Seems like the double standard is the standard (consistency is optional).
  22. In the game Luke is never a playable character for the Empire. If Vader captures Luke and then takes him to Palpy for the Final Battle, there are only two outcomes: he wins (which means he captures both Vader & Palpy) or he loses (he remains a captured rebel character). If you send Luke to get Palpy, basically it's the same thing without Vader, but you also get the possibility of a foiled mission (with Luke remaining free for further game play).
  23. AdmiralToguroAni wrote: I wouldn't say "great", do-able but not great. Rebellion wasn't built with modability in mind. It had to be "back door engineered", whereas EaW has modability from the get-go (to enhance long term game play). And I have to agree on the capitalist scheme regarding Lucas Arts: down play the previous and outdated, and praise/push the new and modern ($$$$).

  25. Cool I did just that (the download).
