As I walked into my temporary quarters on base, I noticed a flashing indicator that I had a voicemail message. "This is Major Mitth_raw_nuruodo. I'm calling to find out what happened after I left the Command Center during the Stupidity engagement. Did we get Tofu or did he somehow manage to escape? Please contact me when you get the time." Well, I might as well type up my report now. Major Mitth_raw_nuruodo just overrode Tractor Beam control and directed 22 tractor beams to grab the Stupidity over Earth. The ISD III had taken geosynchronous orbit (~23,000 miles) over the Reloaded Labs, and blew it to smithereens. Cadet Evo brought out some crazy contraption of weapon parts and had a droid "snipe" the Stupidity in orbit. The weapon "holed" the ISD III, causing it to lose control and head towards Earth's atmosphere! The Stupidity dropped like a dead hawkbat. The tractor beams barely managed to grab the ship as it entered the atomsphere (62 miles from the surface). Using the momentum of the ship, the ISD III was flung back out into space on a tangential orbit to come back to the moon. Major Mitth_raw_nuruodo asked me to take over Tractor Beam control. Pieces of the ship were shredding off from the orbit escape maneuver. Now that is was being pulled to the moon base, I had to reduce the tractor beam power before the hulk was crushed into a piece of junk. Sections of the hull and other debris were trailing the ship like a comet. Some of the pieces were falling back to Earth, as the ship approached the moon and the hulk was shielding the debris. I know Major Mitth_raw_nuruodo wanted Tofu (alive if possible) and wanted the Stupidity intact for clues on any Fuball secrets. With so much debris out there, it was impossible to tell if escape pods had jettisoned or not. Forces were scrambling on base to secure the ship and its crew. Sensor control issued an alert that there was an expanding energy readout coming from the ship's engineering section. Sithdung!! The self destruct must have been activated! We were so close in capturing the Stupidity! In fact, it was too close. That thing is going to blow, and blow big. I flipped the switches to reverse polarity on the tractor beams and "push" the ISD III away as quickly as possible. I issued the collision alert and quickly took cover under the console. The blast shields closed just as the blinding flash of the ships death was seen. Shield control consoles shorted out from the overload, but with auxillary power coupled in, the shields held (barely). I deactivated tractor beam control, and hit the controls to open the blast shields. There was ship scrap everywhere. Some sort of control console from the Stupidity landed just outside the viewport. On the side of this particular console I could see some writing. I should have guessed, it said "Made in China". The security teams were sent out to scan through the wreckage to search for ... I don't know what, there wasn't much left. A couple of squads went planetside on the chance some escape pods made it out. It's a long shot, but I have this feeling not everybody went down with the ship. I left the command center in the capable hands of the station crew. It's time to mosey on down to my quarters for a shot of Tequila. I'm just wondering if Tofu made it off the ship, and if so what he would be saying now if he knew that he blew up the "Decoy Labs". End report. Now to send this off.

DarthTofu wrote: Maybe because Ewan McGregor is a better actor (I have to get this off my chest first) The word is "stingy" not "stingry" (** OK, back to the post at hand **) Yeah, you'd think the Republic (or the Jedi Council for that matter) would put a crowbar in their wallet and buy some decent protective armor for the Knights, Padawans and Masters "out in the field". If that many Jedi were being killed in the war, you'd think they would start trying to protect the remaining ones a little bit better. Order 66 might not have been AS devastating if the Jedi had some additional protection. A lot more of them might have probably escaped the initial attack at least (that's not to say Vader wouldn't have hunted them down anyway, in the long run).

RR character - New Republic finalists:
DarthTex replied to Lord_La_forge's topic in General Discussion
I voted way back at the beginning: Daith Ranar My idea for the picture on the card would be Sergeant Todd (Kurt Russell in the move "Soldier"). Clean cut with a scar on his face; good movie also! -
Although I'm sure Darth Vader had some fine armor , he used the Force to "contain?" Han's shot on Bespin (I'm not sure "contain" is the right word, but not "absorb" in the typical sense). I'd have to re-watch ESB to know absolutely for sure, but I'm pretty confident he used the Force so the Han's shot "burned itself out" (like shooting a ferrocrete wall) and not "absorb" like you would think a sponge would. In "I, Jedi" Corran Horn had the same ability as his father (a Jedi) in that they could use the Force to "dissipate" energy. Not all Jedi could do this. Corran (and his father) were reportedly terrible at levitation. I guess good at some things, bad at others.

After you click on the task force number or flight group color, hold down the CONTROL key and click on the desired enemy ship. That group will attack that ship until it is utterly destroyed. Afterwards they will sit around do nothing until new orders are issued (if you listen to the computer carefully, you'll hear it say "Task Force 1 requesting orders", or whatever task force or flight group in question). If there's a big battle going on, you might not notice this or you may have to wait for other messages first in the queue.

Day 1100, current status: Sesswenna sector: Lando is General on Uvena (the only Alliance system in this sector) with 2 Gen Core II's and an LNR II battery (that should keep the Imperial fleet from taking this system easily). I have two sets of 2 spies constantly spying on Uvena for Imperial missions. Most Imperial missions are recon/spy with some assassination/sabotage missions. Most get foiled before my infiltrators can even target the Imperial units. Darth Vader has (finally) brought Luke to the Emperor for the "Final Battle" and … lost, so he is captured on Coruscant (and injured). More about this later. Borsk Fey'lya is doing spy missions in this sector (he's only so-so, therefore I've sent him to systems without Imperial Generals that I know of). My last mission of 8 infiltrators to rescue Luke has failed with only 2 infiltrators returning. I still have 9 left (3 are always left on system to take out any Imperial covert missions). I also have 2 sets of 5 spys working the sector for info. One group just went to Coruscant and now won't be returning. I have 10 more spies enroute and 12 more infiltrators enroute/ordered. It will be awhile before they arrive. Corellian sector: My fleet has returned for fighter replenishment. The assault frigate has joined the fleet. All damaged fighters have repaired their damage (7 squadrons worth). I'm waiting on my shipyard to finish my new fighters, but procurement is really slow going. Vagran has now joined the Empire. I have 3 groups of 2 spys working on Drall (the only Alliance system in this sector). I also have 5 spies and 11 infiltrators available for missions. I usually keep 3 infiltrators on system to take out any Imperial covert missions. Most missions are recon or assassination missions, and are foiled early on. Garm Bel Iblis has succeeded in a couple of sabotage missions; he's doing about 50-50 so far. Fakir sector: I've taken out another ASY at Halowan with my infiltrators, but two other missions have been foiled (all personnel returning). I've moved my 12 infiltrators to Filve (in the Duflivan sector) because it's the closest Alliance system to this sector. I've added 6 Y-wing probes (3 have yet to arrive) and sent them out into the sector. 12 more infiltrators are being procured for additional missions. Sluis sector: I've completed an assault frigate and have dispatched it to my fleet in the Farfin sector. The ASY's of Sluis Van are producing fighter replacements for Phraetiss (Farfin sector). After a drought of Imperial missions, there are now about a dozen units heading to Bothawui (a mix of recon and spy droids and commandos). I've foiled several spy/assassination missions on Sluis Van. Imperial commandos have sabotaged my LNR II battery on Denab (it has 6 ATF's). I'm frantically trying to replace it before an Imperial fleet arrives to destroy or assault the system. An Imperial raiding fleet is expected to show up in 30 days (1 lancer, 1 carrack) at Bothawui. I've sent a Neb-B and escort carrier from my Farfin fleet at Phraetiss to come scare them off (they should arrive in ~20 days). I have this fleet blockade Bothawui waiting for the Imperial ships. When the time comes, the Imperial fleet consists of 1 interdictor. I'm not sure what happened here, maybe I got some bad info from that spy mission. But never-the-less, my ships have made the Imperials turn tail and run. I'll continue to blockade Bothawui for a while longer to see if the Imperial spec units can get through. Then I'll retreat. I need to get some spies down to Denab to see if an Imperial fleet might be enroute. Farfin sector: By far this is the busiest sector of the galaxy. Well Luke was captured trying to abduct Darth Vader (yeah, I know it was a long shot, but what the heck). My fleet from the outer rim has arrived (5 gunships, 3 escort carriers) and joined with my 2 Neb-B's. I have Han as the Admiral and Talon Karrde as the commander. The Imperial invasion fleet (5 Vic ISD's 1 ISD, 1 interdictor, 1 escort carrier, 1 galleon) is still sitting around at Rishi, so I go to tackle the Imperial base at Wistril (19 fighters, lots of ground troops, Darth Vader and a captured/injured Luke). My fleet shows up and smashes the Imperial defenses. I've lost a little more than half my fighters, but Wistril is about to get a cleansing. I decide to reduce the number of Imperial troops before sending down the infiltrators to rescue Luke. There are 12 Stormtroopers garrisoned here. The first bombard goes well with 9 Stormtroopers destroyed, and Wistril in uprising. But, Darth Vader has fled and taken Luke (took him to the Emperor, finally). I eliminate the final troops and Wistril is again back in the Alliance. The Imperial fleet has left Rishi and assaulted Kinyen. So I send my fleet to Rishi. After Kinyen the Imperial fleet assaults Byss. My fleet finally arrives at Rishi and bombards the garrison. Rishi is in uprising. After eliminating the remaining troops, I then head off to Kinyen. After I leave Rishi, I get news the Imperial fleet is on its way. But I have a big surprise … this is a different Imperial fleet (3 dreadnaughts, 3 lancers, 2 escort carriers, 1 Vic ISD, 1 galleon). After the Imperials are removed from Kinyen, I send my fleet to Tanaab (it has a SY) for fleet repairs. The Imperial fleet arrives early at Rishi. Some ships (2 Vic ISD's, 1 interdictor) from the Byss fleet have arrived in advance of the other fleet. I send several missions of infiltrators to try and take out the blockading interdictor, but to no avail. I've lost several infiltrators now. My fleet doesn't have the fighters or firepower to take on the 2 Vic ISD's so all I can do is sit and wait. I send for 2 assault frigates from the outer rim (at Chondre) when the remaining assault frigate is completed. The Chondre ASY's are now producing fighter replacements for me at Phraetiss. I also send for the assault frigate at Sluis Van. 2 medium transports have arrived at Firro to get some troops, but it is busy making infiltrators right now. The Imperial fleet at Byss has left. They've gone to Rishi. I don't know if they're going to assault Rishi or not, as all of the Imperial troop replacements on Wistril have been destroyed. Anyway, so far they'r just sitting there, so I send my fleet to Byss to free them from Imperial tyranny. I destroy the Imperial garrison on Byss, and now for the first time the entire Farfin sector is in Alliance hands. Eventually the Imperial fleet leaves Rishi. I send my fleet to Phraetiss to pickup what replacement fighters have arrived, then back to Tanaab for fleet repairs. An Imperial raiding fleet (1 ISD, 1 interdictor) has arrived over Wistril. They're bombarding the system, but … they're targeting facilities and not the garrison troops! I immediately send my fleet to Wistril to run off the Imperials. They leave before my fleet arrives, but have only destroyed a couple of mines/refineries plus 1 ACY. Now, they've gone to Firro and destroyed my 2 transports. I send my fleet back to Tanaab. The Imperials then show up Kinyen and repeat the bombardment. Again my fleet is on the way, but arrives to an empty system. Alliance loyalty is starting to slip. Their next stop is Byss, so I send my fleet to Bilbringi trying to second guess the AI. After Byss, the Imperials show up at Tanaab. I'm completely caught off guard. They destroy more mines/refineries, and loyalty for the Alliance shoots UP! It seems I'm going to have to split up my fleet to try and stop the raiding. There aren't too many systems left to raid … of course they could go back to the systems they already raided. They haven't wiped out any system completely. Dolomar sector: Orrimaarko, Tura Raftican and Mazer Rackus are still wreaking havoc on Imperial facilities (mostly ATF's). I have 8 additional infiltrators now and more on the way. Imperial missions are continuing every so often (recon/spy/sabotage/assassination), but are constantly being foiled. I need to get some additional info about other systems to keep the sabotage missions going. Maybe now is the time for rescue missions? Outer Rim: All of the outer rim sectors are colonized. I just need to get the ACY's churning out mines/refineries for resources for war material. There are some Imperial sabotage missions going on in the outer rim sectors. I've lost a couple of mines/refineries, 1 ACY, and an LNR 1 battery at Yavin. The ASY's at Chondre are producing B-wing fighters for Phraetiss in the Farfin sector. When these are complete I'm going for my first interdictor, then more assault frigates. There is an Imperial fleet searching the Orus sector for my headquarters! I don't know what this Imperial fleet consists of, because they always leave before I can check out the message that an Alliance system is being blockaded. So far Bakura, Datar and Lafra have been visited. I have moved Alliance headquarters to G'rho in the Xappyh sector. I'm going to have to get my ACY's to produce some Gen Core II's there ASAP. It will be a while before the HQ arrives. Maintenance is currently 1200+ (and fluctuates +/- 100). It was once as high as 1600, but Imperial bombardments and some sabotage have reduced this. My surplus of raw material points is approximately 50+. Alliance headquarters is now heading to the G'rho system in the Xappyh sector. 483

That shouldn't matter. Any part of the "code" (that includes executables, libraries, data files, etc.) can not be changed, and definitely NOT distributed. It's a good thing I don't read "the fine print"

I'd being willing to bet the ranch that it's "illeagle" (illegal for the rest us, OK Tofu?). Changing "programs" or the data no matter how it's done (reverse engineering, hacking, etc) is usually stated as a "no-no" on the end license agreements

Supposedly, whenever Palpy switched into a new clone body his mind ... "cracked another marble" or "another screw got loose". Basically he was starting to lose it mentally. He might have had a supply of clone bodies, but I don't think he had the "soul"? to pull it off indefinitely. Exar Kun had the mind, just not the bodies Karpman wrote: I believe that occured in the Dark Horse comics. PS - post number 400!

Well then Thraken has a choice: A) sit around for who knows how long until the Empire falls or at least weakens (remember: we're saying the Rebels lost at Endor. Lost but not destroyed, so another opportunity may take awhile), or B) let Palpy know and get some power NOW. Use or lose it

Defender_16 wrote: Not necessarily. When the Vong invasion begins, Thracken Solo could go to Palpy and say "Hey, I got the Centerpoint Station up and running. If I could become a Moff of the entire Corellian sector, I could let you personally wipe out the Vong invasion fleet. What do you say?" Thracken gets personal glory and such from Palpy, and Palpy takes the credit for stopping the Vong invasion. A win-win scenario for both. Mitth_raw_nuruodo wrote: I don't see quite that way. I see Vader escorting Palpy to the control center on Centerpoint Station. Palpy "seats" himself in front of the control console, while stretching out with the Force. The control console responds and a control stick forms into his right hand. Palpy extends his left hand to Vader. "Lord Vader, give me an Imperial credit" As Palpy's left hand approaches the console, a "slot" forms in the control console. A slot perfectly sized for the Imperial credit. After the credit drops through the slot, the control console comes to life. There in front of Palpy he sees a Vong fleet floating in space near some star system. His right hand gently squeezes the control stick. Centerpoint Station comes to life and across the galaxy in some star system a blinding light appears. Chaos reigns within the Vong fleet as large numbers of ships have been destroyed. Palpy throws his head back. "Muwhahahahahaha. Muwhahaha. Hahaha" His hand once more reaches to Vader. "Lord Vader, give me another Imperial credit" ...

Not to throw a monkey wrench in the works , and there are a lot of "IF's" to get to this scenario ... but, should Palpy get his hands on the controls of Centerpoint Station, then he has the ultimate long range weapon. -There is no "missile" (i.e. the galaxy gun) to travel to target, giving the target time to escape (assuming the target knew it was coming) or just move to different coordinates. -No time delay before the system explodes (i.e. Sun Crusher). -No chasing the Vong fleet around the galaxy with the DSII trying to destroy their fleet. A nice long range weapon to wipe out scores of ships with a single blast. Should they disperse and converge on Centerpoint Station (assuming they could figure out what was going on), then all he has to do is turn on the system wide interdictor field and bring in the Imperial fleet or DSII or take them out with Centerpoint Station itself (I don't remember if it can do both the interdiction field and weapon simultaneously though?). Palpy would be like a little kid with a pocket full of quarters in an arcade; searching the galaxy for Vong ships and then blasting them away . He would probably have so much "fun", he might even die from laughter

Day 1000, current status: The Imperial war machine is starting its galactic conquest, but I'm there to slow him down and push him back. There are NO more neutral systems in the outer rim; all have joined the Alliance with the exception of 2 systems. Sesswenna sector: Luke has left the sector for the Farfin sector. Darth Vader has been located (actually he's currently in hyperspace heading for Wistril, which is still in uprising). Luke has a "lay over" at Caprionril, where Han will take him the rest of the way (faster). Sarin Virgilio is now General of Uvena. Mon Cal and Sullustan troops are enroute, and 2 Gen Core II's are under construction (from the ACY's on Ithor). An LNR II battery is next, and then some spy/infiltrator units. Lando is on his way after completing his diplomatic mission at Vjun (there are no more neutral systems in the outer rim to persuade to join). My raider fleet from Drall has arrived at Uvena. I have blockaded Bortras, Sviren, Balmorra, Averam, Chandrilla and Yaga Minor and destroyed 50 Tie interceptors with the loss of 13 fighters (6 X-wing & 7 B-wing). All systems had Gen Cores to protect the Imperial troops (even the ones I previously sabotaged had been replaced) or no troops/Gen Cores. After Ghorman & Corsin, all Imperial systems in the Sesswenna sector will have been targeted, with exception to Coruscant. Coruscant has a large fighter defense (~30 fighters), plus a couple of capital ships (1 ISD, 1 carrack, 1 interdictor), but my info for this is very old. Corellian sector: My fleet is almost ready for departure (2 more X-wings to go). Like I said last time, it now takes forever to get anything produced (lack of refined materials). I have Vanden Willard enroute to Drall. The final X-wing has been delivered to my raider fleet, so the fleet is finally sent off to Uvena. I'm now producing an assault frigate. I've made Willard the system General, so Garm Bel Iblis can conduct sabotage missions on Imperial missions (currently an Imperial sabotage mission). About a dozen spies have arrived at Drall so I send them off to Selonia and Duros (which just joined the Empire). It appears the Imperials are finally getting their diplomats working in this sector. Fakir sector: Intelligence shows 7 ASY's at Halowan, make that 6 now that my infiltrators have destroyed one. The follow up mission for another ASY has been foiled. I have 2 groups of 6 infiltrators operating out of Sullust and Sluis Van to sabotage more facilities. Sluis sector: Another small raiding fleet has hit Denab (1 Sullustan troop destroyed), and then disappeared. Imperial missions to Sullust have all but dried up. General Kaiya Andrimetrum has been injured on Sluis Van. I now have 3 groups of 2 spies constantly at work to uncover Imperial missions there. My small fleet of 2 Neb-B's has been sent to Charmath to eliminate the remaining Imperial troops (the system is in uprising). A Neb-B has launched from Sluis Van and is "cruising" the sector hunting for Imperial raiders. I'm now constructing an assault frigate at Sluis Van. Intelligence has uncovered an Imperial fleet heading for Sullust (1 Vic ISD, 1 ISD, 1 escort carrier, 1 dreadnaught, 2 lancers, 1 interdictor) which will arrive in just over 2 weeks time. It must be another fleet out of the Fakir sector. All troops, fighters and spec forces on Sullust have been relocated to Sluis Van. My ship R&D has also been relocated to Sluis Van. I might have to relocate my ship R&D to the outer rim, but I hate the down time while traveling. I'm already "behind" in research compared to the Empire. The Imperial fleet has arrived to (for appearances sake) an "abandoned" Sullust. They leave shortly thereafter. Farfin sector: I'm not having any luck with starting uprisings on Byss or Rishi. 2 Neb-B's have arrived over Charmath. The battle with the 8 Tie interceptors is finally over. It takes about 5 days to eliminate the remaining Imperial garrison (I only do 1 bombardment per day to avoid "collateral" damage and loyalty hits). Charmath is again part of the Alliance. I then send them to Rishi. One of my sabotage missions has succeeded at Byss and it is in uprising. My fleet arrives at Rishi and eliminates the 8 Tie interceptors. Rishi has a Gen Core, so I send for infiltrators. Instead of just sitting around (the infiltrators are enroute), I proceed to Byss. At Byss the usual skirmish with Tie interceptors is over. One of my Neb-B's has picked up some shield generator damage. Luke, Leia and Han finally arrive. Luke, Han and 4 spies go to Wistril. Intelligence missions have failed to get updated info before Luke arrived, so he'll have to do it. The bombardment of Byss commences, and is over relatively quickly (more war droids than dark troopers on garrison duty). Byss is free again. Mon Mothma has completed her mission on Tanaab, so it's off to Vortex in the Glythe sector (this is the last neutral system in the outer rim). An Imperial fleet has blockaded Firro (5 Vic ISD's 1 ISD, 1 interdictor, 1 escort carrier, 1 galleon), temporarily. Nothing happens and then they move on (Firro has 2 Gen Core II's and good garrison troops). They show up over Tanaab and bombard the system (1 Sullustan troop destroyed). For some reason they leave (it maybe my bombardment at Byss?). It seems every time the Imperials leave Tanaab, I start to construct 2 Gen Core II's for defense. Then before the first is completed, they show up, blockade the system and my ACY's can't deliver. This time I'm constructing ACY's for the outer rim. I send my Neb-B's from Byss to Phraetiss, where they pick up some infiltrators in addition to those that I sent earlier. It's off to Rishi. Once at Rishi it takes about 7 tries before the Gen Core is finally blown up (I've lost half my infiltrators by now). Rishi is bombarded and is cleared of any Imperial troops. I send garrison troops from Firro and Phraetiss to Charmath, Byss and Rishi. I have Leia go to Rishi to bring loyalty back up to 100%. Luke has been captured by Darth Vader! And he's been injured. Han reports the mission has been foiled; yeah I figured that out since Luke was with you! I check on Luke, his combat rating now registers only at 143. Darth Vader's is at 222. Ouch! I'm sending some infiltrators to try and rescue Luke. Meanwhile I send the Neb-B's to Kinyen. Kinyen has 12 Tie interceptors for defense, and loyalty is ~50%. The battle with the Tie interceptors takes longer than usual. My wounded Neb-B is being picked on and the shields are failing fast. The shield generator just went. Once shields are gone, I'm going to have to leave to keep from being seriously damaged. The Tie's are being whittled down, but the shields won't hold for that long. I'm getting reading to retreat when the shield generators come back online (barely)! Shields are starting to increase a little and there's only 2 Tie's left. The last shot by the last Tie takes out the shield generators, but he's too late, I win! I bombard the garrison at Kinyen. Kinyen instantly goes into uprising and them restores order as part of the Alliance! Khomm has declared neutrality and then joins the Alliance in one day! The entire sector supports the Alliance, with exception to Wistril which is under Imperial military control. Maintenance has shot up to 1000+. Well that didn't last long, the Imperial Navy has shown up over Byss (5 Vic ISD's 1 ISD, 1 interdictor, 1 escort carrier, 1 galleon) and assaulted the system. They have a full load of troops, so I think they're going to be going after more systems shortly. A successful intelligence mission from Wistril shows 30+ troops stationed there (some are still enroute). When the Imperial fleet is not in orbit, Wistril is defended by 19 fighters (9 Tie fighters & interceptors, plus 1 Defender). Kinyen has just been assaulted (again) by the Empire. My fleet is enroute to Byss. Rescue efforts to get Luke are constantly failing, but I'll keep trying. At Byss after two days of bombardment, it is free of the Imperial garrison. I have my fleet move to Phraetiss and hopefully soon to Kinyen. I'll just have to keep my Neb-B's away from their fleet and bombard garrisons after they leave. Luke has been rescued by Han and some infiltrators! After arriving back on Khomm, I move them all to Phraetiss. I send several missions of infiltrators to Wistril to abduct Darth Vader (good luck!). I have my Neb-B’s go to Kinyen and destroy the Imperial garrison. The Imperial fleet assaults Khomm. Luke has finally healed and had his “chatâ€
