I'm sitting with my boots on the desk, sipping a margarita and snacking on nachos at my (local) secret hide-away in the basement of the Alamo. I'm enjoying myself (even more with the margarita ) and giving myself an "atta boy". You see, this past weekend weird things were happening ... Luckily it was a wet/cold weekend, so I stayed inside putting off the outdoor chores 'til later. That's when my computer chimed. A "red" flag had gone up. Somewhere, somehow, someone was starting to go through "sensitive" systems. I immediately pulled up data on the username/password. It was an old code, but according to the system still legitimate. I was going to ignore it when another "red" flag had gone up. The "data" being requested was ... odd, but vaguely familar. I did a trace of the data request: it appears to be coming from a gov't surplus control van once owned by NASA It was decomissioned right after shutdown of the Apollo moon missions. Uh oh, someone's attempting to shut me out of the system. The data request is for updated coordinates for the Moon, and the signal is originating from Cape Canaveral! That can only mean one thing ... TOFU Which only means he's trying to destroy Mitth's secret project on the Moon! Quickly working, I start to update the coordinate logarithm for the Moon. Crap! the power went out! My backup system kicks in, and I only have 5 minutes until system shutdown. Tofu couldn't kick me out of the system, so he's shutdown part of the city power grid! Clever Tofu, but not good enough I think I got everything entered correctly before the system goes dead. Now I'm wondering how long the "locals" will take to get power restored. I guess I'll find out tomorrow if I succeeded. Well, that's what happened. I logged in this morning, to find Krytos has defended an attack by Tofu, Scathane reports the entire Cape under Furball's control, and Defender_16 has successfully eluded termination. Small victories, but victories none-the-less. Apparently my quick coding worked. I just wonder how long it will take before Tofu realizes the updating coordinates to the Moon are actually progress reports for calculating the last digit of PI? A transcendental number that never ends!

In the "General Discussion:Rebellion Community TC" forum, a post about ... FURBALL, has sparked an idea! AdmiralFishface wrote: The key word is "distracted". My idea works like this: a catnip laced ... ball of yarn. BUT, not your ordinary ball of yarn This special ball of yarn has at its center some secretly ... uhhh ... "procured" (yeah! that's the word), ST Federation replicator technology. A small anti-matter powered replicator would constantly replace yarn as it's unwound from the ball. Making an almost "perpetual" ball of yarn. Now, the ball of yarn will not last forever, BUT ... working with a small squadron of multi-colored (camouflaged) ballS of yarn, the "target" maybe distracted for a good portion of time. In that "relative safety" portion of time, PHASE II would start. PHASE II requires the placement of "AI" chips in the balls of yarn, to control the "nanite" infused strands (of yarn). When working together as a single "unit" the AI will control the "nanite" infused strands from the balls of yarn to "immobilize" the "target". If sufficient resources are devoted to the project, it could possibly become a ... permanent "containment" apparatus? Please post all comments/suggestions/recommendations/modifications, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions. Day 800, current status: The Imperial war machine is making its first steps to galactic conquest. The Imperial navy is finally out in force, details to follow. Sesswenna sector: The LNR II battery that was previously sabotaged, has been replaced … and then sabotaged again (** Sigh **). Luke and Leia have arrived. Leia has brought loyalty to 100% and then has pushed on to neutral systems in the outer rim. Luke has been doing some espionage missions here and there in sector. Some rather disturbing news is the Imperial shipyards at Chandrilla are constructing an interdictor cruiser … number 5! I now have to be very careful with my meager fleets as now I won't be able to escape when caught by a superior force. Luke is failing miserably at sabotage (mostly because all systems are garrisoned by 3 dark troopers and detecting him). His combat rating is in the low 170's and Force growth has been … minimal. I've transferred Sarin Virgilio to Uvena. With him working with Luke, the Gen Cores of Imperial systems are starting to fall. When I have eliminated enough Gen Cores on systems, I'm planning on raiding the sector with my growing fleet on Drall. This will hopefully cause the Imperial war machine to restock lost units (units which would have been used against me elsewhere), and hopefully "pull in" the Imperial fleet from other sectors. Corellian sector: I've completed an escort carrier for my fleet, and have added my other raiding fleet (with no fighters) to create a super raiding fleet (3 escort carriers, 4 Neb-B's, 4 corvettes, 3 gunships). I'm short on fighters (I need eight more for a full complement). When complete, my fighters will consist of 16 X-wings & 10 B-wings. Selonia has joined the Empire (Tralus is the other Imperial system), but other than that, all other systems are still neutral. General Iblis (on Drall with the Sullustan garrison) has been doing a good job of foiling Imperial recon, sabotage, assassination and spy missions. I need to get some of my own spies and infiltrators on system to help with this. Drall has 1 original SY left (all others have been converted to ASY's except 1 under construction). When the ASY's are complete, I'll build another LNR II for Uvena, plus some Gen Gore II's. I've sent some Sullustan troops to Uvena for now (there's nothing to sabotage but mines/refineries). Eventually, I'll also get some Mon Cal troops, infiltrators & spies there. Fakir sector: Apparently the Imperials are using this sector as a staging base for operations against the Farfin and Sluis sectors. Most fleets are staging out of Palanini, as I find them later in other sectors. I need to raid in this sector soon. Sluis sector: The Imperials occasionally send a small raiding fleet through the sector, usually a dreadnaught, or a carrack/lancer fleet. Mon Cal has been hit hard by the Imperials. I've had to re-garrison twice, but on the bright side I now have enough open energy slots to build something I want (5 ACY's, 4 are complete). The Imperials have also raided Sluis Van and took out some SY's (that hurts). I'm in the process of replacing these with ASY's to produce 2 Neb-B's. Bothawui is starting to hum with Imperial activity, there are several espionage and recon droids on the way, and now commandos. I've been taking out some on Sullust (their main target. This is where my ship R&D is located). I'm planning on blockading the system soon to prevent further reinforcements, but I think this will only draw in the Imperial navy to hunt me down. I'll have to coordinate this with my raiding fleet at Drall. The ATF's on Denab have made more spies and infiltrators for Sullust and Orto. Also, I'm producing a lot of infiltrators for the Farfin sector. Farfin sector: There's been a lot of action is this sector lately. Imperial missions to Phraetiss and Firro continue, but not at the previous levels. My spy mission to Kinyen is complete; some garrison troops and droid/commando units are enroute. I send the fleet to Phraetiss. My infiltrators are successful at Wistril as it has gone into uprising. I'm having the ATF's of Firro produce infiltrators to use at Wistril. Also, some spies will be needed to keep info up-to-date for sabotage missions. The Imperial fleet has gone back to Charmath and re-taken the system from me. The fallout from the Charmath bombardment is that Byss and Bilbringi have joined the Alliance, and Khomm has gone neutral. I now have to send some infiltrators to Charmath to start an uprising there. They have failed, so I'm going to send my characters. The war droids are such easy targets (low defense values), and now Charmath is in uprising. The Imperial missions to Phraetiss and Firro are starting to increase, so my infiltrators are being kept busy stopping them. I send my fleet and characters to Wistril to eliminate the Imperial garrison. The fleet has been restocked, but only with 6 X-wings and 1 Y-wing. The wounded Neb-B (no shield generators) has been sent to Sluis Van SY's for repair. I've eliminated the Gen Core at Wistril, but the bombardment has destroyed a mine (which stupid person do I have in charge that can't hit troops? Admiral Jiriss?). Byss and Tanaab are close to uprising against me, so I send some garrison reinforcements. Bilbringi has re-joined the Empire. To prevent further problems, I send my fleet along to Caprionril (with my characters Orrimaarko, Mawshiye, Tura Raftican and Mazer Rackus), and will rely on my infiltrators to free Wistril. I have Talon Karrde enroute to do diplomacy at Byss and Mon Mothma enroute to do diplomacy at Tanaab. While I'm waiting for more infiltrators (I just lost 7 trying to sabotage a dark trooper on Wistril), somebody from the Empire has just got Khomm to re-join. By the time I have enough infiltrators for another sabotage mission on the garrison at Wistril, I get a message there is no target. I then send some spies to see what is happening. There mission is foiled and they failed to return. Karrde has brought loyalty on Byss to 100% and is working on Rishi. Mon Mothma is still working on Tanaab. The Imperial fleet has just shown up over Firro, but my 2 Gen Core II's and 8 garrison troops (2 are Mon Cals) have changed there minds. It's a good thing my fleet is gone, there is an interdictor added to the Imperial fleet (4 Vic ISD's, 1 lancer, 1 escort carrier, 1 interdictor & 1 galleon). They then show up over Phraetiss. Fortunately, Phraetiss is still well defended with General Carlist Rieekan (ESB Hoth base commander), over a half dozen garrison troops (including some Mon Cal troops), 2 Gen Core II's and an LNR II battery. Better think hard Mr. Imperial, and hard he thinks. While in orbit, I send up 8 infiltrators to sabotage the interdictor. The next day the Imperial fleet pulls out. Oh well I tried, and there is a message about the mission. To my surprise, my infiltrators pulled it off and destroyed the interdictor! Karrde has finished on Rishi (100% loyalty), and I send him off to the Sumitra sector. The Imperial fleet has shown up over Byss and assaults the system. I immediately send off some infiltrators to take out one of the Dark Trooper regiments, and start an uprising. My sabotage mission fails, but I discover the Imperial fleet has vacated the system. I know where they are shortly thereafter; they're over Rishi and have just assaulted the system. I'm starting to lose this sector, but I can at least make it a pain for the Empire by trying to get the systems in uprising. I send off some more infiltrators to Rishi. Maintenance is now down to the low 300's. Dolomar sector: My infiltrators have failed to rescue Chewie, but they return. Crix Madine has been captured, and the infiltrators don't return. Leia has arrived to bring loyalty on Caprionril to 100%. All of my spies from Firro have arrived and I send them off to Tangrene first. I'm still foiling Imperial spy, recon, sabotage and assassination missions. I've even managed to capture Villar on a sabotage mission. I send him off to the far reaches of the galactic hyperspace prison. The fleet from Farfin sector arrives, and I immediately send them to Phorliss. The system is well defended with 8 Tie interceptors and 2 Tie fighters. I immediately recall my 1 Y-wing, and let the X-wings mix it up. After about half the X-wings are gone, I recall them and let the fleet handle the remaining Imperial fighters. I send Orrimaarko, Mawshiye, Tura Raftican and Mazer Rackus after Han and they succeed. OK, let's try Chewie (with Han) and again I succeed. I send them again (not Han or Chewie this time) to get Crix Madine. Han and Chewie get to do a spy mission. Han comes back that an Imperial fleet is due the next day (2 Vic ISD's, 2 carracks, 1 escort carrier). I head off to Ketaris to go rescue Page. Crix Madine has been freed, but now Mawshiye has been captured and he is on one of the Vic's. I don't think I'll ever see him again. Ketaris is defended by 8 Tie interceptors and I hardly have the fighters to take them out, so I let the fighters do what they can. They got a couple before being destroyed themselves. The fleet gets the remaining fighters no problem. When the others finally arrive (with Crix Madine), I send them to rescue Page. Han and Chew have already returned from their spy mission with updated info. Page has been rescued! I send all of the characters back to Caprionril, and the fleet is sent to Drall for a fighter restock, and to join up with my other raiding fleet. With the arrival of more infiltrators at Caprionril, I send my characters and infiltrators out in groups sabotaging the Imperial war machine. They're doing quite the job. So far I've eliminated: 3 ASY's on Sarka (I let them keep the 2 older SY's); 2 ATF's on Tangrene; 2 ASY's & 2 ACY's on Balfron; and 2 ATF's on Omwat. Not every mission succeeds, but the majority of them are succeeding. I only have a few infiltrators left, and only 1 spy returned from their latest mission. I need more spy/infiltrator units, but I'll have to use my characters for now. Outer Rim: Colonization of the Churba and Moddell sectors are complete, and I'm waiting on more troops for the other sectors. The Namta system in the Atrivis sector has joined the Empire! My diplomat didn't act fast enough. The Imperial Navy has shown up in the outer rim. A small fleet (1 carrack, 1 lancer) has shown up over Hishyim in the Abrion sector and has started bombardment. This is my ACY system for this sector! My nearest ships are at Sluis Van: 2 Neb-B's (1 was repaired from the Farfin sector fleet) and I load them with 4 Y-wings. It's going to take some time to get there though. About every other bombardment is taking out something on system. My garrison was the first to go, then some mines and now the ACY's. The last CY is destroyed 2 days before my Neb-B's arrive. The Imperial fleet disappears. I have the Neb-B's hang around awhile in case the Imperials show up elsewhere in sector. Intelligence shows them enroute to Palanini, so I send my fleet back to Sluis Van. Another Imperial fleet has shown up over Yavin (3 carracks, 1 interdictor). Yavin has some fighters and a Gen Core, so the Imperial fleet destroys the fighters and then push on. They show up and destroy my garrison troops on Boordi and Geedon V. They also bombard Alklellish III, Flax, Kashyyyk, Linuri and Tierfon taking out some mines/refineries/garrison troops. Loyalty has taken a slight dip, so Karrde is on his way to patch things up. 1 carrack is currently blockading Alklellish III, and the rest of the Imperial fleet has disappeared. I don't have any capital ships on this side of the galaxy, so I'm going to have to suck it up for now. My super SY system is almost complete at Chondre (10 out of 14 ASY's). There are 6 X-wings, 12 Y-wings, 6 B-wings and 5 gunships there, with 3 escort carriers under construction. Research has developed the CC-7700 interdictor and the assault frigate, but I haven't had time to build any yet. Maintenance is currently 300+ (and fluctuates +/- 50) as things get built and mines/refineries produced, with all of the raw material points used up. There are more mines than refineries (about a dozen), and the time delay (due to the lack of refined materials) is really getting out of hand. It now takes about 3-4 times longer than normal to get things produced. After the Imperial raids in the outer rim, I have fortified Mantessa (still in the Orus sector) with 3 Gen Core II's and an LNR II battery, and moved Alliance headquarters here. There are only 2 defensive troops (1 Army & 1 Fleet), plus 2 Y-wings and 4 X-wings. I need to get some Mon Cal troops and more fighters for defense. Alliance headquarters is now located on the Mantessa system in the Orus sector.

I would suggest then (if you don't want to spend a fortune buying the books), going to your local library and checking them out. If you look at the novel Revenge of the Sith (the name of the latest movie), there should be a novel timeline at the beginning of the book. Write down this list (it is quite extensive), and then start checking them out. I haven't read everyone, but I have read a majority of them. Good Luck.

Thanks. Well Sidenchers, all I can say is I'm just posting my thoughts/actions/observations from a game I have in play. As far as I know, BS (BS, correct me if I'm wrong) is posting about an RPG he's involved in with others. If you're looking for new and creative storylines, then I'm not necessarily the person to be asking (although I do have some) I'm not an author by trade, so I'd rather tinker with things than plan a massive outline, then fill in the blanks with dialogue. How many of the SW books have you read?
