its finally over! Its been over a year, but my TC, URPG Supremacy, is finally finished! Some things to expect are

 

New voiceovers for everyone but the Imperial tactical guy, but I re-did anything with the words "Death Star" in it

 

GUI changes, like new mail icons, new assistants, etc

 

a whole new logo to replace the Rebels.

 

Entirely new cast of characters

 

New music

 

New movies except for the shuttle movies.

 

Mostly new ships, and all ships have been tweaked so they should all be useful.

 

New troops, upgraded defenses, and new special forces.

 

A redesigned galaxy where it takes fewer days to get across.

 

Faster fighters and faster ships to increase combat speed somewhat.

 

All build times reduced by 1/3 in order to make things more interesting. The goal is to speed up the games and forego that first 200-1000 days of building up, while allowing spectacular battles online since more ships will be there

maybe you could make it into 100mb packages and host each of those on a different site?

I read in a newsletter I get, that a company called "FolderShare" was bought out by Microsoft and became a freebie site. I haven't read too much on it yet, but they say its like an FTP file transfer site (even sorta like transfering files from drives on the same PC). I don't know how well it works, but it's free and your largest files have to be less than 2 Gig. Maybe this will help.

1gig? There must be some mistake! What is your biggest file/directory in your TC?

One gig is a bit big... exept if you include the video files

The MDATA folder is about 395mb by itself, so thats the bulk of it. We have to transfer it over because of the new movies. Alsprite and Emsprite are about 96mbs each because of the new voice acting, with Albrief and Alsprite being about 30mbs each for the same reason. I'll look into foldershare to see if it works with my uni's firewall. I know its huge, but this is the entire game. At least something in every single dll file was changed.

You really should not be transfering the entire DLLs unless it is all your own content. Safer to create an installer

I'll try filefront now. Thanks, Evaders. As for an installer, I'm not sure how to do that Last time I tried to do something along those lines, I ended up with a program stuck in a recursive loop that to this day I can't delete.

Hello. Thanks for supporting Tuguro's mod; I even like it, (And I don't play this game ;]), I am the host of Tuguro's mod, and he showed me this post.

 

Sorry for the day or so of not being able to download it; when I uploaded his mod, I forgot to chmod the files, (silly me,), so it was forbidden to download.

 

I see you guys have plenty of places that you host stuff; but if you ever need any hosting for your game's mods, tell me. I can host them of any size; it doesn't matter.

hi, ive been scouring threw the threads etc, ive been a long time player of REbellion/Supremacy, and i wish to download your mod, problem is its taking far to long because of low download speed even with a DSL connection lol, looking at 9 hrs for 353 mb, is thier a another way to get this mod faster?? any one upload it some were or that can help?

i think it may be me. im currently running the linux machine which hosts these files along with another computer, and an Xbox. This is probley the reason. Tomorrow after school, I'll hook it up directly to our router. We'll see if that helps.

Why not let swrebellion.com host the files as well and Filefront? that way you dont have to worry about peoples slow download to your server

 

Im sure site here will be happy to get a new Mod im itching to give this mod a try, but i cant do anything until get decent download, other wise to keep keep computer on 6-8 hrs or so and if the connection is lost half way im screwd lol.

I dont host the files on filefront because I'm not sure if what I have is considered a "mod" or "pirate software." Evaders has made it pretty clear that my mod isnt welcome here unless I do an installation file, which I have no clue how to do. This is the best way I know of getting it to you without getting me in trouble with the law.

lol aks around people who have worked on mods how they did it, or just use the moded files and dont put anything ells in it, i think what he was meaning by Copied is that you probably have seperated the moded files away from normal game thierby giving people a free Supremacy/Rebellion game, so take the changed files and put them together with instructions on were to put them etc, if thats what im guesing you have to do.

 

From what i can gather from the size of your mod its the whole game including the changes, so change that and follow rough isntructions as i mentione and i think its then legall but im not sure.
