  1. The first dragon that pops into my mind from LOTR was Smaug, from The Hobbit. I believe there were some other lesser dragons mentioned in The Silmarillion, but that was a long time ago)
  2. That is kinda freaky. Maybe we could get Mad to replace the pupil with the Death Star? That would be more acceptable to me
  3. Why does it want to install some program (from Sun) on my computer? I don't like "mystery" programs on my machine (not to mention the IT guys). For those who get it to work, would you post a screen capture? I may be paranoid, but you don't live as long as I have by taking unnecessary chances

  7. Day 1400, current status: Sesswenna sector: I've increased my number of infiltrators on Uvena. I've been slowly taking out Gen Cores and LNR batteries. So far I've avoided Chandrilla and Coruscant, due to the fact almost all missions are foiled and/or fail to return. I've been spying on the least defended systems, not to get information on them but for the extra info on other Imperial systems. Saves me some hassle trying to spy on those systems directly, especially when some of them are the hardest to get info on (i.e. Coruscant). The Imperial fleet is still orbiting Coruscant, although some of the ships have departed and others are arriving. Current intelligence shows the following ships in orbit/on the way: 2 ISD’s, 2 Vic ISD’s, 5 carracks, 5 dreadnaught, 2 escort carriers, 3 lancers, 1 interdictor), with a total fighter complement of 53 squadrons. I haven't had any data on Chandrilla in quite awhile, so I'm sending Borsk Fey'lya and 4 spies to see what's going on. Of course, Borsk gets captured and none of the spies return. I think I'll let him "cool his heels" for awhile before attempting a rescue mission. Shortly, all new infiltrators will have arrived, and with the others already here plus those returning from missions, I'll try to rescue Luke from Coruscant. Corellian sector: Xyquine has joined the Empire (thanks to Piett). The Imperial shipyards on Duros and Tralus are working on more capital ships. For some reason they're building dreadnaughts and carracks, but no Star Destroyers. I'm beginning to think the Empire is at a critical level with maintenance points. The increase in unit production (troops, spec forces and ships) seems to correspond with the (relatively) recent joining of Xyquine, and there has been a recent construction boom in mines/refineries. I've sent my fleet (4 corvettes, 4 Neb-B’s, 3 escort carriers, 3 gunships, 1 assault frigate) with several infiltrators to Duros, with plans to "reduce" the number of ASY's. I've taken out the token defense of 3 Tie Defenders with ease. Now I have the infiltrators working on the Gen Cores. After awhile they finally are destroyed. My bombardment eliminates the 3 Dark Trooper garrison. I've reduced the Imperial shipyard down to 1 original SY. Latest intelligence on Tralus shows 20+ fighters (half Tie fighters, half Tie interceptors and a few Defenders thrown in the mix). I've sent Garm Bel Iblis and some infiltrators to eliminate the Gen Cores. Unfortunately Garm Bel Iblis has been captured. I then send my fleet from Duros back to Drall. Xyquine has now declared neutrality. But it's only a matter of time before Piett has them back to the Imperial cause. I now have a surplus of fighters on Drall and am constructing Liberator carriers for them. Fakir sector: All of the Fakir sector is in Imperial hands. I'm getting lucky here and there with sabotage/spy missions. The most difficult systems for any missions are: Carida, Palanini and Raltiir. Intelligence shows Darth Vader enroute to Palanini. I've sent several spy/recon missions there lately with no success. The capture of Darth Vader is a top priority. I need to build up my spies and infiltrators for this task. Sluis sector: My fleet (1 Neb-B, 1 escort carrier) has left the sector for the outer rim (more to follow later on). Darth Vader is enroute to Bothawui. I'm assembling my infiltrators to abduct him. The next spy mission to Bothawui shows Darth Vader is not there. I've missed my chance. Kothlis has joined the Empire, and Darth Vader has re-appeared! I'm sending on infiltrators to get him now. Unfortunately he's a Dark Lord of the Sith, and not very easy to capture. Four separate missions have failed so far. Kothlis is at 100% loyalty to the Empire and now Darth Vader is missing (again. He's been found enroute to Palanini in the Fakir sector). An Imperial interdictor is enroute to Bothawui. My recently completed assault frigate at Sluis Van is sent to intercept him. As all ship R&D is complete, Admiral Ackbar, Commander Wedge and General Adar Tallon are in command. Sluis Van is now producing several A-wings. The assault frigate scares off the Imperial interdictor (he runs to Kothlis). I pursue it to Kothlis, where it retreats again. I head back to Bothawui, but it's not here, apparently fleeing this sector. Farfin sector: This sector is very quiet, with Imperial missions now very rare. Dolomar sector: I have my fleet (3 assault frigates, 2 escort carriers, 2 Neb-B's, 3 gunships) commanded by Admiral Han Solo, Commander Talon Karrde and General Crix Madine raiding Imperial systems. So far I've already hit Ketaris, Phorliss and now Wor Tandell. An ISD and interdictor are in orbit. I initially don't target anything, and the Imperial fleet moves forward to join the battle. The ISD is launching its Ties. As soon as I start assigning targets for my fleet, the Imperial fleet turns tail. I manage to get a few pot shots off, but nothing serious. There's nothing interesting here. Sarka has a few targets for my infiltrators, but I get a bonus of capturing Pellaeon trying to get through my blockade. Tangrene has ATF's that get destroyed as well as the garrison. After leaving Tangrene, it declares neutrality. I go to each Imperial system taking out the garrisons, Tie defenses and any ATF or ASY facilities. Latest intelligence shows Ketaris being rebuilt. My fleet has sent all six damaged fighters to Wistril (in the Farfin sector with ASY's) for repairs, and has 16 brand new X-wings enroute. My fleet is currently sitting over Omwat targeting its Gen Cores and an ATF. Han gets captured trying to sabotage a Gen Core. I send Leia, Crix Madine and some infiltrators to rescue him. The mission is a success and Leia experiences a Force growth (she's Novice). Orrimaarko, Tura Raftican and Mazer Rackus take out the other Gen Core. The Imperial garrison is eliminated shortly thereafter. Outer Rim: An Imperial fleet (1 carrack, 1 Vic ISD) is raiding/blockading systems in the Sumitra sector. I've lost another system garrison before the raiders disappear. It then appears in the Jospro sector bombarding my facilities (mines/refineries). Their next stop is my super ACY system at Kiffex. I immediately send my interdictor and an assault frigate from Chondre to the rescue. The Imperials destroy 4 ACY's and then stop bombardment, blockading the system but doing nothing else. My fleet finally arrives to take on this fleet. The assault frigate and Vic ISD start to duke it out, with the carrack attacking the assault frigate as well. My interdictor is taking on the 2 Tie fighters. The Vic ISD shields are collapsing, and then fail. The assault frigate is pounding the hull, but now the frigates shields are starting to fail. I have my interdictor go after the carrack. The assault frigates shields fail, but it continues firing. I have it re-target at the carrack. It beats down the shields before weapons are disabled. The interdictor is my only ship left. The carrack's shields are recharging, and get halfway before the shield generators get hit. It's a slow pounding of the interdictor on the carrack. I'm getting bored, so I go for the immediate results. Surprise, I lost! My fleet retreats. I find that hard to believe, but apparently the Vic must have repaired its weapons to beat off my interdictor. I send my fleet back to Chondre for repairs. The carrack has no hyperdrive and is basically a hulk. I send for reinforcements (My fleet blockading Bothawui-Sluis sector: 1 Neb-B, 1 escort carrier are enroute). By the time they arrive at Chondre, another assault frigate has been deployed. I send the Neb-B, escort carrier, new assault frigate and interdictor back to Kiffex. My fleet makes short work of the Vic ISD, and the carrack is just target practice for my fighters. The final (of 3) assault frigates has been deployed at Chondre. I now have 4 Liberator carriers in production. Another Imperial raiding fleet (1 ISD, 2 escort carriers) are hopping around, plus another unknown Imperial fleet is in the Orus sector. As mention earlier, I think the Empire is at a critical level with maintenance points. The increase in unit production (troops, spec forces and ships) seems to correspond with the addition of neutral systems, plus a construction boom in mines/refineries on the newest systems (due to available energy slots) . With the completion of all ships currently in production (plus some additional interdictors), my fleet will be ready for a direct confrontation with the Imperial fleet at Coruscant. I expect to win with minimal overall damage to my fleet. My fleet will consist of: 8 assault frigates, 7 Neb-B's, 6 escort carriers, 8 Liberator carriers, 8 gunships, 4 corvettes, and 2 interdictors. My overall plan (mostly in order): 1) Avoid Imperial strongholds in the Fakir and Corellian sectors. 2) Destroy the Imperial Fleet at Coruscant (which is the majority of the entire Imperial Navy). 3) Destroy the Shields and garrison at Coruscant 4) Re-deploy my fleet into four separate fleets (for the Sesswenna, Corellian, Fakir and Dolomar sectors) to eliminate remaining Imperial ships, plus be a local base of operations for sector missions (see below). 5) Produce multitudes of spies and infiltrators for each fleet. 6) Search for Darth Vader. 7) Capture Darth Vader/the Emperor 8 ) Rescue Luke Skywalker 9) Assault Coruscant (and win the game) Maintenance is currently 2000+ (and fluctuates +/- 200). It was once as high as 2300, but Imperial bombardments and production have reduced this. My surplus of raw material points is approximately 10+. Alliance headquarters is at the G'rho system in the Xappyh sector. 596
  8. Yeah, welcome. Beware of Sith Lords bearing chocolate chip cookies!
  9. I prefer the term "Teran" (I have no idea who came up with this, but I like it better than all those Earth labels from past sci-fi movies: i.e. Earther, human scum, etc). Sorry to burst your bubble, but there is a warning sign at the edge of our solar system "No intelligent life herein. Proceed at your own risk (Don't say we didn't warn you!)" If there are (higher intelligence) aliens here on Earth, they must think this is the craziest and/or funniest and/or silliest plant in the quadrant.
  10. I give partial credit to Def16 on this from a different post (I just kept going through the website) Please stop at red lights Ouch!!

Depending on the situation, your "logical or socially acceptable" choices maybe far and few between, but you could always go do something from the wildside if that's your choice. Even not making a choice ... is a choice

With (certain) muslims burning the embassies of countries (note: it's the NEWSPAPERS not the GOVERNMENT) for the printing of Mohammed cartoons, it's only going to be a matter of time before some Europeans start burning Muslim country embassies. Other muslims (from what I've heard and read), think the whole thing it being blown WAY out of proportion. Part of the problem as I see it, is there is NOT anyone person or group to speak for ALL muslims. There are so many imans, clerics, etc. that are in charge of their little "fiefdoms", they are want to be seen as the holiest smartest cleric. One says "kill all the infidels", while another says "boycott Europe", and yet another says "forget about it (it's not worth the hassle; it's only a cartoon for Allah's sake)". It seems the only way to "deal" with all of the imans & clerics is to have "aggressive negotiations" with certain muslim governments. (On a side note: I read that Lebanon-a muslim country, is accusing Iran-a muslim country, of printing/planting mohammed cartoons in Beirut to spark riots. Some European embassies in Beirut were torched). Personally I don't think a (holy) war will settle anything. But, if people can't learn to tolerate others (and NOT take everything personally. It's always a few bad apples that spoil the bunch) or at least try, then things will just get crazier until someone loses it. If it comes to "them" or "us", I say let "them" die for their cause and I'll help them along

  20. Thanks for the info Mad. I'm sure Krytos would've responded, but considering the time differences he's probably sleeping right now This is just a test Bakuran destroyer
  21. Quoting myself: I credit Krytos with finding the following: http://warlords.swrebellion.com/gallery/Development/watchkeeperDestycomp Now that looks better, much better! PS. Krytos, in your original post: How did you make the above "link" into the single word "Watchkeeper"? I've seen this done before, but not sure how to implement this . AdmiralToguroAni wrote: So basically you're saying everytime you use RedEd (assuming you're using the battlestations mod), you have to "re-run" the battlestations mod because RedEd "undid" the 0 (zero) settings. OK.
  22. I know there was a thread and mod regarding the Golan defense platforms (GDP). The GDP replaced a capital ship so it could be built, but the problem was it had hyperdrive capability (like all ships do). There was a "mod" that "disabled" the hyperdrive on the GDP's so they would be stationary at the designated system. That's great (I have yet do use this mod, but will get around to it someday). My question regards a ship brought up in another thread: The Bakuran Defense Force destroyer with the hyperwave sustainer. http://starwars.wikicities.com/wiki/Bakura-class_destroyer (I think these sketches of the BDF destroyer stink. It looks like a fighter ) I know this maybe impossible so it doesn't hurt to ask, especially given there's been a (anti-)similar mod for the GDP's: Is it possible that given a model of the BDF destroyer existed and such, that a "mod" could be done for this ship only that interdiction fields could be null and void? So basically with this ship, if caught by a superior enemy force with an interdictor, I could still retreat? If in a mixed fleet of ships, only those equipped with the hyperwave sustainers could retreat (unfortunately abandoning those without - so sorry)? I don't know who created the GDP mod (I'll have to research this), but do you think this is possible? Ideas? Comments? Etc?
