  1. I have some videos I downloaded from the net about NASA balloon experiments. They took water filled balloons on the "Vommit Comet" (A specialized KC-135 cargo aircraft that flies a special parabolic flight path to simulate zero gravity for training astronauts) and popped them during the zero G maneuver. They had colored water in the balloons and mixed different colored water (from a bottle) in with the floating water. They would then (quickly) "capture" the floating water in a giant plastic bag. One video shows where they were a little slow trying to "recover" the water ... SPLASH! ... cleanup on aisle ... I mean ... we have a leak ... uh ... cleanup to the cargo area, and brings lots of towels! I did read about the chips and cell experiment ... WE ARE THE BORG. YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED!
  2. When playing as the Empire, I prefer to name my ISD's using the international alpha code: Alpha, Baker, Charlie, Delta, Echo, .... Other Imperial ships classes (if worthy) get typical Imperial names, mythological creatures, or carnivore names. For the Alliance, I like to name the escort carriers and Liberator cruisers after WWII US aircraft carriers: Enterprise, Lexington, Yorktown, Wasp, Hornet, etc. Big cruisers and heavy ships get state names (similar to WWII US battleships). Other ships get animal names or ancient weapon names.

He just needs to get the correct folder number for whichever ship he is going to replace with the new data. The number of ships is hardwired into the game code and the best "we" (the users) can do is modify the existing data. To that end find which ships you don't want to use any more and replace them (per the instructions from J) with the ships you do want to use. OK Kearsley?

  7. No problems for me ... but alas there was no one to talk to (but myself )

  12. There's always Long Beach, CA (expensive!), Wichita, KS (flat & boring) or Marietta, GA (Lockheed! near Hot-lanta, Atlanta for regular people).

  17. I guess the MS will be in (aerospace) structures then, because a BS in Mechanical won't be much help in areadynamics, propulsion or control theory.
