Rebel Uprising II! Day 300, current status. Glythe sector: Jack O'Neill has arrived at Fornax after the disastrous coup at Khomm. Fornax is basically a "rock" in space, so despite Jack's low diplomatic demeanor, I send him to Vortex on a diplomacy mission. I'm not expecting miracles, but it keeps him busy and out of my hair. Based on his "reports", I appear to be dead on in regards to his diplomatic abilities. Farfin sector: My Corellian corvette with Snake Plissken has arrived at Khomm. Khomm is under blockade and Snake is sent into the bowels of Imperial chaos. Ben Kenobi has arrived at Kinyen and is slowly progressing with his diplomatic mission there. After many days of waiting at Khomm, an Imperial carrack comes to break the blockade. My corvette is no match for the carrack and I hate the thought of abandoning Snake, but I have to save the ship and its crew. Snake will have to make alternate travel plans to escape Khomm. After my escape, I start reading through the messages. Snake has made it back on the ship! Although the mission was deemed "foiled", he barely made it back to the ship before it blasted out of orbit. Snake was slightly injured in the ordeal. [movie announcer voice on/] "Snake Plissken ... escaped from New York, and later from LA. Now, coming later this summer ... Snake Plissken has another adventure ... Escape from Khomm! As Imperial forces hound his every move, Snake throws them off the trail and pursues him mission for the Alliance. Will he succeed, or is this all an Imperial setup to capture the Alliance's most resourceful agent. Coming to a Holo-theater near you this summer [/movie announcer voice off]. The corvette with Snake is enroute to Fornax. After a couple of weeks of R&R Snake has healed, and with some reinforcements (8 infiltrators) the corvette sets off for the Dolomar sector. Ben Kenobi has convinced Kinyen to join the Alliance! He will continue his efforts to bring about 100% support. Dolomar sector: After the recent Imperial victories in this sector, I don't have much to work with on stopping anymore Imperial incursions. I've secretly sent for my meager fleet guarding HQ out in the outer rim (1 VSD, 2 escort carriers, 2 Neb-B frigates, 9 X-wings, 12 Y-wings). After a brief detour to Tierfon (a shipyard facility and troop coordination point), it picks up 3 Fleet troops and heads to the neutral system of Sarka. In the meantime, I've foiled a troop training mission on Kamparas by Zarrin, three more times. Zarrin is very persistent, but popular support is making things difficult for him. My fleet arrives at Sarka unknown to Imperial forces. I then head to Wor Tandell, which is completely undefended with exception to the controlling garrison. A single bombardment salvo destroys the entire Imperial garrison (4 Fleet regiments & 1 Stormtrooper unit). Wor Tandell is once again part of the Alliance. I then send my fleet to the former Alliance shipyard system of Phorliss. The shipyards are constructing a dreadnaught and the system is defended by a couple of Tie fighters. The Tie fighters don't stand a chance, and the Imperial garrison (6 Fleet regiments) is eliminated with a single bombardment. The shipyards are back in production of Y-wings for the Alliance. Upon the return to Alliance control, several Imperial personnel have been captured! Apparently the "core" Imperial ship design team was working at Phorliss and are now guests of the Alliance: Klev, Thrawn and Bevel Lemelisk! My fleet now heads to Kamparas. Yet another Imperial system that is undefended with exception to the garrison. Another single bombardment eliminates the garrison and captures more Imperial personnel: Zarrin & Grammel. The Imperial system of Caprionril has gone into uprising due to the advancing juggernaut of the Alliance fleet (although I consider the fleet small, and it only has 3 troops). The Alliance fleet now heads towards Ketaris. The Imperial fleet lies in wait (1 ISD, 2 VSD's & 2 carracks) at Ketaris unknown to me. Upon entering orbit, I'm not sure how the Imperial fleet will respond. They definitely have the advantage in shear ship firepower, but I hold the upper hand with fighters as they aren't fully stocked. The Imperial fleet is retreating! I send all fighters after the ISD, where they land several salvos before the Imperial fleet jumps to hyperspace. I'm sure the ISD had a little damage probably to the shield generators, but nothing serious. I'm caught totally off guard by the Imperial garrison. There are 27 troops here (5 Army, 7 Fleet & 15 Stormtroopers). The evacuating fleet didn't take any troops with them. It only takes two bombardments to eliminate the Imperial garrison (16 on the first salvo). The neutral systems of Sarka and Omwat have now joined the Alliance! There are two ISD's enroute here, but due to arrive on different days. I sit to wait for them. Each ship retreats with several shots taken by my fighters. I now send my fleet to Caprionril. The corvette with Snake Plissken and the infiltrators has arrived at Omwat. There original destination/mission was to be Caprionril, but with my fleet enroute there, I leave them sit for the time being. My fleet arrives at Caprionril to find a single ISD in orbit (more than likely the one that just fled Ketaris), and he retreats. The original Imperial fleet that fled Ketaris (1 ISD, 2 VSD's & 2 carracks) has now blockaded Pantolomin. A quick bombardment of Caprionril destroys the Imperial garrison, bringing the entire sector under Alliance control. I immediately dispatch my fleet to break the Imperial blockade at Pantolomin. After a couple of days the Imperial fleet leaves without a bombardment (the KDY must have discouraged them), and without troops there was no assault. I send the corvette with Snake to pickup spec forces throughout the sector (guerrillas, spies, infiltrators) to ferry over to the Calaron sector. Sluis sector: Other than Jan Dodonna working on diplomacy at Bpfassh, the Sluis sector is quiet. I'm constructing a SY system at Umgul and send spec forces/troops from my TF's to the Berchest system in the Fakir sector. Han takes Chewie and Leia to Berchest. Luke has finalized diplomacy at Orto and is now heading to Ukio in the Abrion sector. Calaron sector: I'm continuing spy missions on the four Imperial systems of Jerijador, Skor II, F'tral and Morvogodine. Skor II and F'tral are rocks in space (nothing here but mines and refineries). Jerijador and Morvogodine are still unknowns as missions there either fail to return or are foiled. With a bit of luck, a spy mission to F'tral has also supplied info on Morvogodine. Some interesting things going on there: Wile E. Coyote is doing facility research with me (DarthTex) as the system "General"! I check on (my) DarthTex's stats ... OUCH! They are much higher than I put into that character card! Apparently DarthTex has been kickin' some rebel butt earlier in the game (maybe he infiltrated Khomm and ran Jack O'Niell off? Or hunted down Snake? We'll never know). Reinforcements will be coming from the Dolomar sector in the near future to wrest control from the Empire. Dufilvan sector: The Imperial system at Ord Pardon has foiled all of my previous attempts at getting info. Now with 6 Bothan spies and 3 Y-wing long probes, I'll attempt again to pry info about that Imperial world. Both missions succeed and reveal the Imperial secrets buried within: Ysanne Isard is currently in system with Brandei and Jango Fett enroute. There are 3 Army troops and 3 Nogrhi present. An Imperial commando and 3 more Nogrhi are enroute, and three Imperial ships are on the way (1 VSD, 1 dreadnaught, 1 escort carrier). Other than that, this sector is quiet. Fakir sector: My base of operations for this sector is at Berchest. Han & Chewie are doing spy missions on the Imperial systems along with a dozen Bothan spies. Leia is trying her best at diplomacy on Carida (which is proving to be a tough nut to crack). I have a large contingent of infiltrators to use once I get some info on targets. There are a plethora of (ten) troops enroute as well as more spec forces (6 spies, 12 guerrillas). The most noticeable piece of information received to date is that Daala, Dorja and Darth Vader are enroute to Halowan! I haven't seen, nor heard about Darth the entire game! Now I can only hope he stays at Halowan so my infiltrators can do their job. Sesswenna sector: There has been a major blow to the Empire here recently. Yaga Minor (my only system) has slowly been building up it forces. Guerrillas have finally succeeded in starting an uprising on Averam, and guerrillas are currently emplaced on Svivren as well. Infiltrators have been deployed to sabotage Imperial garrisons on these systems as well as Bortras. The infiltrators on Averam have succeeded in there mission and Averam joins the Alliance. The neutral systems of Uvena and Corsin now join the Alliance. Uprisings begin on the Imperial systems of Svivren and Bortras. The infiltrators are partially successful on Svivren and reduce the number of troops. More sabotage missions are dispatched as units return to Yaga Minor. After a couple of weeks, the latest sabotage missions on Svivren succeed and that system joins the Alliance. The Imperial system of Bortras, as well as the neutral systems of Chandrila and Ghorman, all now join the Alliance! The entire Sesswenna sector, with exception to Coruscant, now belongs to the Alliance. Mon Mothma has now recruited the following: Ackbar Carlisst Rieekan Gandalf James Kirk John Wayne Mazer Rackus Raw materials are around 200, refined materials are 0 with maintenance points around 5400. The ASY has now become available, and as time permits the SY's are being upgraded. For ship research I've just made it to level 4, the Golan III defense platform. Also, Mon Cal troops have just become available and are being procured. The Alliance headquarters is still located on the Cardooine system in the Jospro sector. 323

Aah, young love. Congrats Mitth! I guess your days are now "numbered" . What are you willing to tell us about her? Does she at least like Sci-fi (STAR WARS)? I hope we still see ya on the forums

Tofu, if everybody had to worry about what everyone else thought about what was said, then only "smart" people would be mute. Case in point, with your plethora of posts (and multiple insults contained therein), you should be hiding in the deepest hidy-hole in Florida, for certainly there should be thousands of "people" looking to skin-you-alive, behead-you, torture-you-to-death, etc. Apparently you're the pot calling the kettle black As for Muslims rioting about the Pope's comments, Def's already made that point
-
I prefer "an eye for an eye". But since that's deemed "cruel and unusual punishment", just put them to death, quick and painlessly (what a jip . If they caused great pain and anguish, then they should receive it back . Now THAT would be a deterrent).
-
Hey, guess what, SOCL? You used the wrong form of "there." That's not fair Mitth. First, said post is an "old" post; and second, you know SOCL's busy and can't respond. But you are correct; it should be "there" and NOT "their"

Can someone help me out here? 2 problems
DarthTex replied to CorellianAce101's question in Questions from Newbies
1) The Gen Cores: First I would suggest running an espionage mission to find out who and/or what's on the target system (of course, your espionage mission can fail ). If there is a "General" on the system, that makes things more difficult. Other people on system will also make things difficult (depending on their stats). Use decoys on the mission. Remember it's easier to detect a mission with too many units. The hard part is finding that right combination of having enough units, with decoys. Too little and you fail, too many and you fail. Get some characters with "good" stats to help out if necessary. Otherwise, just pass on that system until a later date (you could blockade it in the mean time). Good Luck! 2) See DarthCrazy's answer. Just land troops on the uninhabited system like you own it (because you will) -
That was ... disturbing What's with the aerobics moves? That was just bizzare. Only in Japan ... I have a tennis ball cannon at home It's made from (old) "steel" beer cans (you can't use aluminum beer cans , they can't handle the pressure and explode ) and can shoot a tennis ball approximately 100 meters. It uses butane for fuel, and makes quite the BOOM when fired You should see people's faces when I set it off

I'm 6' 5.5" in bare feet. Not only are you a young whipper-snapper, you're a short one too! That's a walker... It's designed to make Tex look old... And seeing as Tex is a Sith Lord that means that he has- An Imperial Walker! *Blam!* *Regenerates* Oh, yeah- I'm going to be showing my teacher a very edited version of the latest comic and try out for a position as cartoonist in our school newspaper. It's very prestigous- two other people might actually try out for the job! "An Imperial Walker" Now that's funny! Good luck with school newspaper position

Rebel Uprising II! Day 200, current status. Since the last report, I've been mostly upgrading/supplementing defenses for Alliance systems and improving on the war machine infrastructure. There have been several more gains for the Alliance, as well as some setbacks due to the Empire and Alliance ineptness. Calaron sector: The Imperial system Ithor is under military control. I've dispatched Admiral Roget Jiriss with a bulk cruiser and Corellian corvette to blockade/bombard the system. On the fleet's arrival, bombardment commences. Two of five Imperial Army regiments are destroyed, stirring an uprising of the local populace. The next bombardment eliminates one more unit. The following bombardment eliminates the final Imperial presence on the system, bringing the system over to the Alliance. The neutral systems of Akrit'tar, Kessel and Norval II join the Alliance. The Fwillsving and Kubindi systems then abandon the Imperial cause, going neutral. The Jerijador, Skor II, F'tral and Morvogodine systems have increases support for the Alliance but remain Imperial. All attempts at recon, uprising or espionage have failed at the Jerijador and Morvogodine systems, with only a few units returning (if any). I'm going to try the other two systems now, before trying something else on the previous two systems. I suspect those systems have important facilities/personnel there foiling my missions. Dolomar sector: I've foiled a troop training mission on Kamparas by Zarrin, twice since the last posting. But apparently Zarrin is very persistent and keeps on trying. An Imperial fleet consisting of 2 VSD's, 1 ISD and a carrack have blockaded Wor Tandell. The next day the system is assaulted and under Imperial control. A few days later the same fleet then shows up at Phorliss. I have 5 SY's at Phorliss cranking out Y-wings. As the Imperial fleet enters orbit, 2 X-wings and 6 Y-wings (that is all the Y-wings completed so far) move to intercept. I send all of the fighters on a suicide run to damage the ISD. It is a futile attempt, and after the destruction of 4 of the Y-wings, I call for a withdrawl. Phorliss is assaulted and now under Imperial control. My remaining Y-wings under construction are destroyed and now 5 SY's are in Imperial hands! Sympathy for the Alliance grows on the Imperial systems of Kamparas, Ketaris and Caprionril. All attempts to exploit the growing Alliance sympathies on these Imperial systems have been foiled. I now have several infiltrators enroute to help remove the Imperial garrisons and restore Alliance authority. It will be some time before they arrive. Farfin sector: Jack O'Neill has arrived at Khomm, the only Alliance presence in this sector. Jack is made "General" to hold the fort until Alliance forces can be mustered to secure the system for offensive operations against the Empire. The system now has 4 CY's and I'm using them to bolster defenses for the system. Two Gen Cores have been completed and an LNR battery is under construction. Apparently the Empire understands this threat and is taking steps to prevent an Alliance base. Although no Imperial missions are discovered, Alliance support is beginning to slip. I suspect Imperial uprising missions are underway, but I have no other resources to help General O'Neill at this time. Several of the neutral systems have now joined the Empire (Firro and Tanaab). Khomm has gone into uprising! I'm scrabbling trying to find a sufficient number of troops to send there. I've also dispatched approximately a dozen guerrillas to help subdue the uprising. It will be sometime before they arrive. It is too late, the system has switched side to the Empire! Jack has escaped and is now enroute to Fornax in the Glythe sector. Rishi and Bilbringi have also joined the Empire, leaving Kinyen the only neutral system in this sector. Mon Mothma has recruited Snake Plissken. I put him on a Corellian corvette and sent him to Khomm to find out what Imperial forces have displaced Alliance control and who is responsible for this Imperial operation. Shortly thereafter, Mon Mothma has recruited Ben Kenobi and I send him to Kinyen to do diplomacy. Maybe I can re-establish an Alliance presence in this sector. Sluis sector: The Empire has been forced out of the Sluis sector! Incite uprising missions have succeeded on Bpfassh causing them to go neutral. And Princess Leia using her charming ways, has convinced Mon Calamari to join the Alliance. The latest info on Bpfassh shows a carrack in orbit and as ISD enroute. As soon as units or facilities become available, a recon mission to Bpfassh is in order. Dufilvan sector: An Imperial system has been discovered at Ord Pardon. All attempts at recon have been foiled. A more resourceful attempt will have to be initiated sometime in the near future when resources allow, but for now I'll just have to be watchful. Orus sector: There are three Imperial systems in this formerly uncharted sector of the galaxy. The Joiol system is in uprising. My Corellian corvette having fulfilled its exploration mission has been diverted to this system. The Joiol system is garrisoned by 4 Imperial Fleet regiments. Several bombardment salvos later, and the uprising is over; Joiol has joined the Alliance! Quelli sector: My bulk cruiser has finished exploring this sector, finding an Imperial controlled system at Vinsoth! The system is garrisoned with 3 Stormtrooper regiments. The garrison is bombarded, with one regiment destroyed with the first salvo. The second salvo proves disastrous as the inept gunners on the bulk cruiser fail to take into effect the rotational velocity of the planet. Basically blowing a civilian SY into smithereens causing political repercussions throughout the sector. The neutral systems of Kirrek, Rafa, Varn, Thrakia and Dathomir have all now joined the Empire. I'm beginning to think there maybe an Imperial agent planted among the bulk cruiser gunners. All further bombardments of the Imperial garrison at Vinsoth have been ineffective. I think it's about time to vacate this sector. Mon Mothma has now recruited the following: Mr. Spock Syub Snunb Snake Plissken Ben Kenobi Raw materials are around 380, refined materials are around 280 with maintenance points around 4000. I'm in the process of re-tooling all of my CY's to ACY's. When that is complete, I'm going to try to put a big dent in all of the surplus materials being stockpiled. The Alliance headquarters is still located on the Cardooine system in the Jospro sector. 217

OOC: I'm going to make a retroactive change here. After some discussions with Def, from now on I'll use the term "gunboat" instead of "gunship", as this fits better with the ships used in my storyline. Chuck Wagon 1 (a converted gunboat that is a transport) broke off from the space battle and headed towards the moon base. The other transports that launched after the gunboats detoured around the space battle and were now approaching the perimeter of the base. "General", called the lead transport, "the main hangar bays are severely damaged. There's no way to set down there and land." "Very well. Standby while I contact base control. Base control, this is General DarthTex with reinforcements from Earth. The main hangar bay is out of action, where should we land?" "General! Thank the Force someone has come! You'll have to land at the new maintenance hangar bay on the far side of the base; it's still operational. But be warned, the Admiral's private hangar has been compromised and enemy forces are defending it." "Will do base control, and thanks for the 'heads up' on the Admiral's hangar." I ordered the transports to the far side of the base, flying low while passing near the enemy LZ (landing zone). Soon another hangar came into view. There seemed to some minor scorch marks here and there, but no structural damage that I could see. The bays doors were opening and the magcon (magnetic containment) fields were up. Base control was on the ball getting the hangar ready for our arrival. The hangar bay seemed deserted on first notice, but several people could be seen taking defensive positions around equipment. The transports came in pairs, with commandos and troops hopping out just prior to touch down. I hopped out of Chuck Wagon 1 giving the hand signal to spread out and take defensive positions. "Who's in charged here?" I said moving forward quickly assessing the situation as best I could. "I am sir, temporarily that is", said a young lieutenant as he snapped a salute. "What's your situation here, and what's the status of the base?" The lieutenant seemed nervous, but got straight to the point. "Enemy forces have taken the Admiral's private hangar, and are freely roaming about the base. They assaulted this hangar, but we've beaten them back for now. Commander JH is setting up a defensive barricade down the main corridor to help repel any more attacks that may come. We have an AB-ugly stationed at the main entrance just inside the hangar, other than that, all we have in terms of firepower is side arms. They'll think twice before charging in a second time, especially against laser cannons. We have contact with base control, but some internal systems are proving unreliable, mainly sensors. We've heard the YVH's have gone rogue, but we haven't had contact with any of them." "Very well, lieutenant. Sergeant, deploy some of the men to shore up defenses and get the others ready to head out. Lieutenant, why isn't this hangar destroyed like the other hangar?" "Well, sir, this is the new maintenance hangar bay. Maintenance was previously done in the operational hangar, but it got very crowded and messy in there. This hangar was just completed a couple of months ago; it's for maintenance only. The Green Goblins were just getting ready to move back to the operations hangar, and the Raging Rancors moved in last week, then the attack began. The Sun Streaks were wiped out with the operational hangar, I think. Word is the YVH's sabotaged the shields and base defenses, leaving the base vulnerable to attack. There's no reason for the YVH's to be down here, so the shields and defenses held. The pilots were either packing up or helping with moving the fighters around when the attack began. We prepped them as quickly as we could and they launched. Some of the fighters aren't 100%; they might not have long range comm. or sensors, some might not have a full fuel or weapons load. But that's really just minor stuff, considering." "Good job lieutenant. Go get Commander JH for me ASAP. Sergeant, get the men and my YVH's ready to push on. We're heading into the base to secure it and probe the enemy lines." The lieutenant wasn't gone very long when Commander JH arrived. I eyed the commander skeptically, as he approached. He seemed to be wearing Madalorian armor; how curious. "Reporting as ordered, sir". “Commander, I’ve been to the base a couple of times but I’m not familiar with this section; do you know where the maintenance for the YVH’s takes place?â€

The tech lab was hot and stuffy despite the AC (air conditioning) being cranked to its lowest settings. The techs here had so much equipment running all the time it was just too much thermal output for a room this size. Several techs were bunched up over terminal in deep discussion, with several beeps/chirps from AM-3 (an astromech droid). In the far corner of the room the YVH droids were standing perfectly still facing away from the door; the access plates on their backs were open with wires and instruments hooked up into some equipment. "What's going on here that's so darn important it can't wait?!" said a cloaked figure as he swept in. All of the techs jumped about a foot in the air. They were so focused on their pet project, they didn't notice General DarthTex until he spoke. "General! You've got to see this. We've isolated the circuitry and have modified the ROM so it doesn't work!" exclaimed one of the techs. "That's nice son, but could you start from the beginning and speak in English?" "Sorry sir, I'm just excited. Ever since the raid on the Zoot factory, we've been analyzing the data AM-3 downloaded from one of the computers. Apparently, the "chips" are nano-computers meant to override and control electronic devices. We downloaded the specs from AM-3 and have been working on a … 'cure' so to speak. Well, not really a cure, but a …uh …" Another tech then picked up. "It's more of a fix, than a cure, but not really a fix 'fix'. Know what I mean?" AM-3 chirped and squealed, bouncing slightly on his motorized treads. "Yeah, what AM-3 said", replied yet another tech. "It's a temporary repair until a permanent solution can be developed." All of the techs began talking at once, pointing and shouting, then finally shaking their heads all in agreement. "OK, OK", I replied. "You have a temporary fix. What is it and how does it work?" One of the techs held up a computer chip. "This is the ROM (read only memory) chip currently used on the YVH droids. We've pulled the ROM chips from YVH droids making them totally useless." "You've what?! Are you telling me you sabotaged my YVH droids?!" I growled. "No Sir!" replied all the techs, their faces totally astonished they would be accused of such a thing. "Well … yes sir", replied a tech. "But not the way you think. We've modified the existing ROM chip. The new modified ROM chip has some additional functions, mainly doing a checksum function check on the primary memory core and doing a system wide code function audit." The blank look on my face spoke volumes. Another tech explained, "The new ROM chip checks for any alterations to the primary memory and also checks the operating system instructions. If there are any unauthorized changes, the ROM quarantines any 'deviated' memory and ignores new code instructions. Eventually if this continued without any maintenance, the memory would drop to such a low level the YVH droid would just shut down." "The other ROM function added is the 'piggy back' function", said another tech. My stare continued. The same tech continued, "Basically if a YVH droid becomes incapacitated due to low memory, another YVH droid can take over the other YVH droid in a master-slave configuration. It's like having two hard drives in a computer; one is the master and all others are slaves." "What's to keep all of the YVH droids from becoming slaves, and then controlled by … oh let's say … someone else, like the enemy?", I replied. Another tech replied, "Oh that can't happen. A YVH droid can only control as many droids as it has memory available, so it's impossible they can all be controlled by a single droid. Plus the master-slave relation has to be a mutually agreed encrypted process; that way too many slaves can't overwhelm a master. But should the master go down, all of the slaves will go down with it. That's the only down point." "So, what about my YVH droids? It looks like they're … all 'messed' up." "No, sir. We've been testing out the new ROM chips on our YVH droids. We've also upgraded their memory … to 2 Terra bytes each! Awesome isn't it? And to tell our upgraded YVH droids apart from others, we've put some special markings on them. All of their faces have been painted to match yours General. Hope you don't mind?" The techs walked over to the YVH droids, pulling out wires and disconnecting their equipment. Once the access plates were closed, the droids were re-activated. Upon completion of the new boot up sequence, all the droids turned to face me. It looked awesome indeed. Five YVH droids with the Texas flag painted on their faces. "That's good thinking guys … for now anyway. YVH droids; status report." “Sir, 310 reporting for duty; status is 100% and readyâ€

Since doing the "mod" on the Pirates of the Caribbean movie poster with Dinochick's special appearance, I had such fun with that, that I had to do yet another: STAR WARS: Pirates of Corellia http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/9484/dinotexpiratesz0.jpg (It's all in Japanese anyway, so I made my own title )

Rebel Uprising II! Day 100, current status. Not too much exciting to report just yet, but there have been some significant events. Mostly I have all facilities busy cranking out war material: more CY's, more TF's, more SY's. I've produced quite a few guerrillas, infiltrators and spies, and some troops. I finally have a VSD (a real combat ship to add to my puny fleet), but have mostly been turning out X-wings & Y-wings. My first strikes against the Empire have been in the Sluis, Dolomar, Mayagil and Abrion sectors (two core, two outer rim), where each has a system with Imperial military control but Alliance popular support. Mayagil sector: The Imperial system H'nemthe is under military control. I've dispatched Admiral Roget Jiriss with a bulk cruiser and Corellian corvette to blockade/bombard the system. On the fleet's arrival, bombardment commences. Two of three Imperial Army regiments are destroyed, stirring an uprising of the local populace. The following bombardment eliminates the final Imperial presence on the system, bringing the system over to the Alliance. The Triton, Chalcedon and Dantooine systems then abandon the Imperial cause, going neutral. Support for the Alliance increases on the two remaining Imperial systems of Cona and Oetrago. The Oetrago system becomes another militarily controlled system, and Admiral Jiriss now has a new target. Dolomar sector: The Imperial system Phorliss is under military control. Several Alliance guerrillas working with the local populace has thrown the system into uprising. Support for the Alliance slowing increases. Alliance infiltrators have been at work sabotaging the Imperial garrison. Without a strong military presence by the Alliance, the indirect path is the only way to go. It takes several attempts (and many days) before the entire Imperial garrison (two Army regiments) are eliminated. Phorliss comes over to the cause of the Alliance. The neutral system of Wor Tandell has also joined the cause of the Alliance. Sluis sector: The Imperial system Bothawui is under military control. In this sector I have Han, Luke, Leia, Chewbacca and Jan Dodonna to help out. Leia and Jan Dodonna are sent out to do diplomacy missions on Praesitlyn and Sluis Van, respectively. Han, Chewy and Luke first so a spy mission on Bothawui to get a clear picture of what I'm up against. The Imperial garrison consists of one Imperial Army regiment and two Stormtrooper units. I then send them back to sabotage the garrison. It takes several attempts before the system goes into uprising from the destruction of one of the garrison troops (using Chewy as the decoy worked). A few more missions take out the remaining garrison troops and Bothawui joins with the Alliance. The neutral systems of Orto, Kothlis and Umgul also join the Alliance. Princess Leia has made great progress on Praesitlyn bringing them to the Alliance. The neutral system of Denab now joins the Alliance. Eventually Jan Dodonna also succeeds at Sluis Van. The only Imperial presence is now on Bpfaash, with Mon Calamari remaining neutral. Abrion sector: The Imperial system Galpos II is under military control. Several Alliance guerrillas working with the local populace has thrown the system into uprising. Support for the Alliance slowing increases. An Alliance escort carrier is located at Garban (I guess that's my "local" HQ for the Alliance in this sector). Garban has a SY and is producing fighters. Pink 5 is on her way to be stationed on the carrier. Her arrival brings the promotion of "Commander" and the addition of a couple of fighters (Y-wings). The escort carrier takes up position over Galpos II blockading the system. Pink 5 in the lone X-wing escorts the Y-wings on a bombardment run on the Imperial garrison. Her mystifying luck holds up, destroying the Imperial garrison without any casualties. Galpos II now joins the Alliance. The spectacular feats of Pink 5 against the Empire spread like wildfire through the sector. The neutral systems of Da Soocha, Cathar, Intuci and Abregado all join the Alliance. The former Imperial system of Ukio has abandoned the Imperial cause and gone neutral (apparently they want no part of Pink 5 coming to their system). Support for the Alliance increases on the lone Imperial system of Tieos. Pink 5 and her escort carrier depart for Tieos. Another bombardment from Pink 5 destroys one of the Imperial garrison troops, throwing the system into uprising. After a short "timeout to freshen up", another bombardment on Ties eliminates the last Imperial troop, bringing Tieos into the Alliance. Bothan spies have reported to Pink 5 on the arrival of two Imperial Star Destroyers (arriving on separate days) in the near future. There is plenty of time for her to contemplate her next move ... I have two exploratory fleets going out into the outer rim, consisting of a bulk cruiser-medium transport and a Corellian corvette, respectively. I have completed the exploration of the Atrivis, Glythe, Sumitra, Jospro and Orus sectors. Again I have noticed some "weird" things. In the uncharted Orus sector I have found three Imperial systems (without facilities, defenses, troops, popular support bar or anything), and one of them is in uprising! In the uncharted Glythe sector there are four similar Imperial systems with one in uprising, and another with zero energy slots (the energy-resource bars are solid). I'm not sure on what to make of this but say, "Fascinating!" Mon Mothma has now recruited the following: Garm Bel Iblis Jack O'Neill Narra Raw materials are around 340, refined materials are around 110 with maintenance points around 3500. I'm building like crazy (for what few facilities I have), and I haven't yet drained my surplus materials to zero. Increasing mine/refinery production seems to be working. The Alliance headquarters is still located on the Cardooine system in the Jospro sector. 183 (<-- these are from the originals)

OK, I'm going to start re-posting these narrative sections again. I believe the last post was up to day 1000. So I will get this back up to speed in the next couple of days. Rebel Uprising II! I'm starting another game (standard game, hard, large galaxy) as the Rebel Alliance. What I'm basically trying to test out in this game, is to get a more aggressive AI while maintaining some balance with the original game play. I've read over others ideas about "charging" up the game and have incorporated some of those ideas and some of my own. I'm not aiming to get "huge" fleet battles as the sole purpose of the game (though that would be nice should it happen), but really just a challenging conflict. To make it more challenging I'm using the following changes: 1) RebEd changes. Galaxy: The galaxy is a bit more crowded and resourceful. Six outer rim sectors are changed to HIGH importance with half "colonized". Six more outer rim sectors have changed to MEDIUM importance with only 2 sectors "colonized". See the attached map for the current layout (it might be hard to see, but the colonized sectors have "brighter" systems than the others). http://img61.imageshack.us/img61/2055/rebeluprisingiigalaxymapsr9.jpg Facilities: All facilities have remained unchanged with the exception of mines/refineries. Mines/refineries now have half the construction cost, and have production rate increases to 4 from 5. Defenses: All defenses have remained unchanged with the exception of the LNR I battery. The LNR I battery weapon power has been increased from 800 to 1500. Troops: The build cost and maintenance is lower on practically all units. I'm using the following build-cost/maintenance values. Alliance Army 4/2, was 6/3 Alliance Fleet 6/4, was 8/6 Alliance Mon Cal 5/4, was 6/4 Alliance Sullustan - no change Alliance Wookie 8/6, was 10/8 Imperial Army 4/2, was 6/3 Imperial Fleet 5/4, was 7/5 Imperial Dark Trooper 9/6, was 12/8 Imperial Stormtrooper 7/5, was 9/6 Imperial War Droid 7/6, was 9/8 The Imperial Fleet, Dark Trooper and Stormtrooper units all have increased bombardment defense values. The Dark Trooper and Stormtrooper units have increased attack ratings, and the Dark Troopers have increased detection ratings. Fighters: Alliance A-wing has build cost and shields dropped. Alliance B-wing has laser & ion cannon ranges dropped to match other fighters, and laser rating dropped. Alliance X-wing - no change. Alliance Y-wing has lower maintenance and sublight ratings, but increased shields and ion cannon ratings. Imperial Tie Fighters have lower build and maintenance, and increased agility. Imperial Tie Bombers have lower maintenance, but no ion cannons. Imperial Tie Interceptors - no change. Imperial Tie Defenders have lower torpedo range and laser ratings, but have ion cannons equivalent to a B-wing. Bombardment is increased as well as sublight and agility ratings (faster than the A-wing but not quite as maneuverable). Capital Ships: For the Alliance the Corellian gunship is replaced by the Golan III defense platform (available to both sides). The Neb-B frigate has increased fighter capability to 3. The Corellian corvette and Neb-B frigate are available to the Empire for manufacture. The Carrack light cruiser and Victory Star Destroyer are both available to the Rebel Alliance. Dreadnaughts for the Alliance and Empire have a bit more firepower and an increase to the weapon recharge. For the Imperials, there are many more changes. The galleon, star galleon and armored transport have their troop capacities increased to 3, 6 and 2, respectively. The Strike Cruiser has increased fighter capability to 2. The VSD has a 3/3 troop/fighter capability, and the VSD II 3/4. Both the ISD and ISD II have increased troop/fighter capability to 4/8. The SSD has a 12/16 troop/fighter capability, increased firepower (450 TL and 200 IC) and an increase to the weapon recharge (was 70 now 100). The DS has a 24/36 troop/fighter capability. Special Forces: No changes. Major Characters: The only change is the Emperor can train Jedi (I'm not sure if he'll actually do this, but he now has the option). Minor Characters: All military Imperial characters have a base diplomacy of 50. My reasoning for this is all Imperial officers have gone through tough training and are NOT stupid enough to rely on garrisons only. They know a little PR in the right places will go a long way in maintaining order. Just because they might be corrupt characters at the peak of their careers, doesn't mean they will forget training and just act stupid/egotistical. There has also been some recruitment changes for both sides: Alliance: Crix Madine has been replaced by John Wayne. Afyon has been replaced by Mr. Spock. Drayson has been replaced by Gandalf. Tura Raftican has been replaced by Snake Plissken (Kurt Russell-Escape from NY). Bren Derlin has been replaced by Jack O'Neill (Stargate SG-1). Huoba Neva has been replaced by Peter Quincy Taggert (Tim Allen-Galaxy Quest). Page has been replaced by James T. Kirk. Orrimaarko has been replaced by Ben "Obi-wan" Kenobi. Ma'w'shiye has been replaced by Pink 5. Imperial: Bin Essada has been replaced by DarthTex. Niles Ferrier has been replaced by Darth Maul. Needa has been replaced by Grand Moff Conway. Bane Nothos has been replaced by Prince Xizor. Screed has been replaced by Grand Moff Tarkin. Zuggs has been replaced by Zaarin. Shenir Rix has been replaced by Ysanne Isard. Noval Garaint has been replaced by Boba Fett. Garindan has been replaced by Tom 'Iceman" Kazanski (Val Kilmer-Top Gun). Menndo has been replaced by Jango Fett. Labansat has been replaced by IG-88. Villar has been replaced by Wile E. Coyote. Game Setup: Coruscant starts with 9 Stormtroopers, 3 Fleet regiments, 12 Tie Fighters, 3 Tie Interceptors (prototypes), 3 advanced construction yards (prototypes), 3 advanced shipyards (prototypes), 1 KDY, 1 LNR II battery (prototype), 2 Gen Core II shields (prototypes). Yavin starts with 3 Fleet and 3 Army regiments, 3 X-wing and 3 Y-wings. Rebel HQ starts with 2 Fleet and 4 Army regiments, 6 X-wing and 3 Y-wings, 3 construction yards, 3 shipyards, 1 KDY, 1 LNR I battery, 2 Gen Core I shields. So when the game started, this is what I had to start with: Sesswenna sector: 4 Imperial, 1 Alliance and 5 Neutral systems. - Yaga Minor Corellian sector: 6 Imperial, 0 Alliance and 4 Neutral systems. Fakir sector: 2 Imperial, 1 Alliance and 7 Neutral systems. - Berchest Sluis sector: 2 Imperial, 1 Alliance and 7 Neutral systems. - Sullust Farfin sector: 4 Imperial, 1 Alliance and 5 Neutral systems. - Khomm Dolomar sector: 4 Imperial, 3 Alliance and 3 Neutral systems. - Pantolomin - Tangrene - Balfron Atrivis sector: 7 Imperial, 0 Alliance and 3 Neutral systems. Mayagil sector: 6 Imperial, 2 Alliance and 2 Neutral systems. - Anchoron - Clak'dor VII Glythe sector: 0 Imperial, 3 Alliance and 7 uncharted systems. - Altaarn - Fornax - Fef Jospro sector: 0 Imperial, 1 Alliance and 9 uncharted systems. - Cardooine Sumitra sector: 0 Imperial, 1 Alliance and 9 uncharted systems. - Yavin Abrion sector: 3 Imperial, 3 Alliance and 4 Neutral systems. - Ishyim - Hefi - Garban Dufilvan sector: 0 Imperial, 3 Alliance and 7 uncharted systems. - Zebitrope IV - Klatooine - Ord Mantell Queli sector: 0 Imperial, 0 Alliance and 10 Neutral systems. Kanchen sector: 0 Imperial, 0 Alliance and 10 Neutral systems. Ships: 2 Escort carrier, 3 corvettes, 2 bulk cruiser & 2 medium transports. Construction yards: 9 (3 on Cardooine). Training Facilities: 2 Shipyards: 7 (3 on Cardooine). The Alliance headquarters is currently located on the Cardooine system in the Jospro sector. The first order of business will be for the construction yards (CY) to create more CY’s where possible. My training facilities (TF) will produce Bothan spies then infiltrators. The shipyards (SY) will start off producing some X wings & Y-wings (for defense), and a VSD. Han has volunteered for "taxi cab" duty and transported everyone (but Wedge, he goes directly to HQ for ship R&D) from Yavin to Sullust (Sluis sector). Leia & Jan Dodonna will do diplomacy, and Luke, Han & Chewie doing spy missions. Mon Mothma is doing recruitment. I've also started out with Adar Tallon, Lando Calrissian, Roget Jiriss, and Pink 5. They are scattered about and will be put to work immediately. I'm going to try my best not to "sabotage" the Imperial war machine too early. I'll focus on building my infrastructure and get a more solid foundation for military strikes. But I want to also do harassment and hit-and-run raids. I'll just have to play those aspects as things develop. There is one thing that is "odd" I have discovered; I have three systems (Zebitrope IV, Klatooine and Ord Mantell) in the "un-colonized/uncharted" outer rim Dufilvan sector. Having systems in "colonized" outer rim sectors I understand, but other than Yavin I have never had an "occupied" system in an uncharted sector (there are no facilities or defenses, or even a popular support bar). I guess this must be some side effect due to the RebEd galaxy changes. 1

You shouldn't be laughing, you should be crying. Remember you're a Star Wars geek, once all of the "stupid chicks" are dead ... who are you going to date? -
A lot of people have mentioned scary movies and scary villians/monsters and such, but ... the main point is horror movie icon. Icon: An important and enduring symbol So, for an old fart like me, a horror movie icon would be someone like Bela Lugosi's Dracula or Boris Karloff's Frankenstein. As soon as you see them (monster or actor), it justs pops into your mind ... horror movie. Now that's an icon

OK, so what's your point? -

Just killing the "stupid" people would be enough for me -
Uh Def, what if said Zombies make like the Zombie-pyramid to scale the walls? Since they're undead, walking through the moat won't be a big deal. Remember the pirates (Arrrrgh ) from the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie? They walked on the sea floor then climbed up the anchor chains. They could just walk along the bottom of the moat to get to the wall. Of course some grenades or such could be used to blow away the Zombie-pyramid from time to time But you are "MAD" (I couldn't resist)
