Stephen Colbert of the Colbert Report "broke" his wrist a few weeks ago, and has been milking it every episode. At first I thought he genuinely broke his wrist in real life, and was just using it for the show. That is, until I watched last night's episode. On the air, he had a "doctor" come on the show in front of the audience and had his wrist cast removed. Colbert then went on to say that he was putting the cast up for auction on ebay. This is the auction here. As of right now, about 1 day since the auction began, it is up to $6,255 U.S. dollars. He put it up for a 10-day auction. I can only imagine what the winning bid will be. So anyways, after seeing this, I began to wonder if it was an actual injury he was just taking advantage of, or if it was all just a plot line that got old, and he decided to do this in order to end it. Not for nothing, but when the cast was removed his hand looked fine, and not pale or dirty or anything else you would imagine from a hand trapped under a cast for several weeks. I mean, he is donating the proceeds to the Yellow Ribbon fund, which supports families of U.S. soldiers, but still. I really wonder if it was all a fabricated storyline or not. PS- I am not bashing Colbert. I watch his show pretty much daily. I just can't comprehend the money people are willing to shell out for his cast.

While I was in NYC yesterday, I saw a movie titled King of Kong. I looked it up, and it is a documentary on two people who compete for a high score in the arcade game Donkey Kong. It is not playing in theaters everywhere, so I cant see it, but I want to...

It looks pretty neat SOCL. I like the Romulus and Remus statue in the corner. Is it more geared towards outsiders who are seeking information or for people who are already members of your unit?

The good, the bad, and the ugly of Episode I

For all the NES nostalgics like me out there... it's the Angry Nintendo Nerd! He pretty much bashes all the classic Nintendo games, pointing out their faults. Hilarious! I had all these games back in the day. Its so hilarious to look back on them, especially from this point of view. There are many more. Just find them on youtube if interested.

Gah. Spent last night out with my gf, my sister, and her fiancee. Then today I went back down to NYC with them for the day. Came back here and had the weekly "guys night in", which is basically a night dedicated to video and board games. Just got home...overloading... I go back to school this weekend. I should be spending my time preparing and packing and whatnot, but instead Im out to ungodly hours of the night...

I was simply Comic Book Guy. When Tofu mentioned that Duff Man and Krusty were the most annoying characters in the series, I racked my brain asking myself the same question. In the end, I really couldn't think of my least favorite character, aside from Sideshow Bobs brother, Cecil (Sideshow) Terwilliger. The whole point of the character was a pun on the show Fraiser, which I never liked, thus I hated him. Luckily I do not think he ever came back.

That is the downfall of the console system, and why I do not play any RTS games.

Speaking of lack of sleep, I had to pick my sister up from the trainstation at 2am this morning. I didn't get to sleep until well after 3, and was up by 7:30 because we had to go out and run some errands this morning. Im ready to crash.

I saw the preview for it a few weeks ago. I didn't even know it was in theaters (or was it a direct to DVD movie). Anywho, I was skeptical because I don't like Billy Bob Thorton. He gives me the creeps. But the movie didn't look like his character was like that, so I had mixed feelings. Maybe I'll rent it one night, because if it wasn't Billy Bob I would have rented it sooner.

There have been three games in my life that have dominated my sleep... Kingdom Hearts Kingdom Hearts II Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess I lived and breathed the first Kingdom Hearts game (if you never played, you better). Luckily I didnt have a significant other at the time, or that would have spelled trouble. Kingdom Hearts II was kinda worse, because I had to balance my time with my gf and the game, hence I was going to sleep late and waking up early to squeeze as much time as possible in. And with Zelda...it was bad. Luckily I wasn't working at the beginning of the summer, so I was able to get a lot of my playing time in during the day, but I still had plenty of late nights in Hyrule...
