  1. Its not really a quote from a movie or anything (at least I dont think so). Its a quote that my best friend's grandfather used to always say. My friend actually used it as his senior quote. Its: "If at first you don't succeed, cheat." It was just so funny for an old guy to be telling us that. But as for a serious quote, it has to be my senior quote: "...All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost..." -J.R.R. Tolkien
  2. Jesus of Suburbia- Green Day
  3. Its not old, but theres a Star Wars Trilogy game at my local arcade. Its really not that long, but its the Battle of Yavin, the Battle of Hoth, then the escape from Hoth, then a speeder bike chase, then the destruction of the Death Star II shield, and finally the Battle of Endor. There are also 2 bonus levels where you duel Boba Fett and Darth Vader. Its pretty cool.
  4. The game was so fun. It was a 2 player game, but me and my two friends played it. So we devised a whole new rule system that allowed a 3-player free-for-all. It was the Rebels VS Imperials VS "Scum". Scum consisted of Jabba the Hutt, bounty hunters, gangsters, smugglers, and all other low lives. It worked out pretty well. I was always the Imperials, and the most glorious day was when I sent the Death Star to Tatooine and blew away Jabba and his friends. It was great!
  5. I was disappointed that Lucas never went into the whole Mandalorian thing. I was under the impression (before the prequels) that they were a band of skilled mercenaries that were hired by the Empire to help hunt down the Jedi. I guess I was misinformed
  6. I originally came here because I saw that it was a site dedicated to Rebellion. But what I stayed for was the community of fans who are dedicated to all aspects of the Star Wars universe (movies, novels, comics, games, etc.).
  7. I'm glad to hear that. That definetly makes more sense. The Emperor was just so consumed by his hate that it must have deteriated his body. But now I just wonder if Palpatine was a native from Naboo (he was the senator), and how he actually got mixed up in the Dark Side in the first place.
  8. I had no idea that people still played. Thats awesome. Im gonna check out some of those sites. Man, I blew so much cash on that game back in the day...
  9. A CCG is a customizable card game. Basically, there were 2 players: Rebels & Imperials. Each player constructed a 60 card deck, from a library of well over 2000 cards. You had characters, starships, vehicles, and the like. It was real fun. Some of the rarer cards (Luke, Vader, Obi-Wan) were worth up to $65 for the one card. Nowadays, you can buy them on ebay for like $1. It sucks.
  10. I just wanted to ask if anyone has ever played the Star Wars CCG. It was created by Decipher at 8 years ago, maybe even more. It was such a great game. Just wondering if anyone else was familiar with it.
  11. To clarify what I am was stating earlier. According to "Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels", the second Death Star had some modifications. The superlaser was finetuned so that A. the recharge rate jumped from several hours to several minutes, and B. the superlaser's accuracy was increased to be able to target capital starships. Also, there was no exhaust port. Instead, they were replaced by millimeter-long heat dispersion ducts. And on a different note, I know that Imperial designer Bevel L. designed the Death Star. But of course, Lucas did not do his homework. In AOTC, the Genonosian ruler hands the Death Star design specs to Dooku. Just another case of conflicting storyline.
  12. I just came back from the film. I was disappointed by several things: 1. The battle between Dooku and Anakin. Dooku can kick serious butt, as is shown in AOTC. However, his appearance was so short in Sith. Anakin defeated him too quickly, hardly giving Christoper Lee a chance to perform the role I believe he played so well in AOTC. I know that Anakin claims "my powers have doubled since we last met", but I still think that Lucas should have given Dooku a longer, more extravagant duel. I mean, I realise that Dooku had to die. I know that Anakin had to kill him to "take his place", so to speak. But I just wish that Lucas had given Dooku the final duel and death he deserved. 2. I am also upset with Palpatine. Now the Emperor is my personal favorite character of the Star Wars saga, but I was very disappointed with him. For starters, when Windu has him backed up against the wall, he pleads and balls like a little bitch. I cant see the Galactic Emperor acting like that when his life is threatened. Maybe it was a show to help in the seduction of Anakin, but I really don't know. Theres just such a huge difference between the Emperor in ROTJ and Palpatine in Sith. 3. Another thing I don't like about any of the prequels is the technology. Now the prequels, in definition, occur before the original trilogy. Now, in my opinion, I feel that the technology present during the prequels is superior to that of the original saga. Look at the land assult vehicles used in the seige of Geonosis in AOTC. Those things could easily outgun an ATAT any day of the week. And also look at R2D2. Hes got friggen rocket launchers in the prequels! He never had that during the original trilogy. I guess that R2 got a lost some of his skills during his memory wipe. 4. Lucas definetly should have more of Anakin eliminating the Jedi in the temple. That scene would have been a visual masterpiece, with all these Jedi running at Anakin while he struck down every one. There was great potential for fantastic lightsaber duels, but Lucas decided to not concentrate on that. Instead, he wasted time with the invasion of Kashyyyk. I mean, it was alright, but when I see that he decided to show the wookies over the Jedi purge, that just got me a little agitated. 5. General Grevious. I'm looking at him when he first walks onto screen, stumbling and coughing like an old man. My gf turns to me and says "is he sick?". I say, "he cant be. Hes a droid". Not until much later do I realise that he is a cyborg type creation. But I just felt that the introduction of Grevious was a dumb move. Instead, Lucas should have just kept Dooku around longer. I did like several things as well. 1. The seduction of Anakin. I think that Palpatine telling Anakin the story of the Darth Plauge (or something to that effect) was brilliant. I was sitting up last night, pondering, "well, Anakin loves Padme. So what, in the end, makes him finally embrace the dark side if he has such positive emotions from Padme". The fact that Anakin wanted the power to control life itself was ambitious, and just the thing that would turn him. I thought it was a clever plot. 2. The duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin was great. It was everything I expected from their duel. It wasn't rushed (like Dooku's) and was visually stunning. The fact that it occured in a volcanicly active area was cool too. In short, a great fight. 3. The extermination of the Jedi. I always assumed it took Darth Vader (after he gets the suit, after facing Obi-Wan) and the Emperor together to hunt down and destroy the Jedi. I never would have guessed that Anakin did a large part of it within a single day, single-handidly. It just shows the skill and power he possessed that he was able to personally defeat the Jedi so shortly. Im assuming that there must have been hundreds of Jedi in the temple (that place is huge). I played and beat the PS2 version of the movie, and there is a level where you play as Anakin, running through the temple and killing Jedi after Jedi. Its a fun level, and I only wish that Lucas had included it in the movie (I know I got off track, sorry). 4. The fact that Jar Jar Binks only had one line, and nothing more. I guess to sum it all up, Sith was not perfect. Lucas decided to create it in his own way, which he has every right to. He created the saga, and he thus has the power to do whatever he wants. But I definetly do not agree with all his views. I think he should have stepped back and listened to the fan base. Also, he should have read some of the novels that continue the series (Zahn's trilogy, Dark Apprentice, Dark Empire, etc.). In short, I did enjoy Sith the most of the prequels.
  13. "and i also think that we would be abble to build the Second Death Star and benefict from its improvements over the older model" I believe that the Death Star available in Rebellion is in fact the same model as Death Star II. The best reasoning of this is the superlaser. The first superalser model could only fire on a planet. The targeting systems or whatever were not designed to fire on capital starships. But as we see in ROJ, the Death Star II does fire on rebel capital ships, like in Rebellion. If anything, I think the Death Star in Rebellion should have turbolaser capabilites (like a capital starship). That would rock. But I also agree that a mobile station of the Death Star's magnitude should have a larger compliment of troops and fighters.
  14. Yeah, I think I'll avoid it. After careful consideration, I do not believe that I have the time needed to devote to those games. I'd be stuck at level one forever, dying every few seconds. And I also thinks its stupid that you have to pay out money to buy the game, and then pay additional money to PLAY the game. I for one will pass.
  15. I used to have one. When I was a kid, my dad brought home one he bought off a guy at his job. It was Altered Beast. That game was cool. Unfortunatly, it was a short game. Eventually, we moved up here and didnt want to haul it along, so it was resold. My friend is working on making an arcade machine. He buys all the seperate parts and what not. That's gonna rock!
  16. I've only seen Volume One (the one on DVD). I liked what I saw. It wasn't a "kiddie cartoon", so I enjoyed it. It stayed true to the Star Wars universe. I really liked how the one episode had Kit Fisto helping the Mon Calamari battle the Quarren. That was neat. I just thought thank Anakin's head was a bit long. He looked like one of those Kamino Cloners...
  17. I only got the sun question wrong.
  18. My shows in 3 1/2 hours! Dragging my gf along (she could barely stand me the past month, I've been so excited). I just hope Lucas did better than w/ TPM and AOTC.
  19. Are you talking about traitors? Where the character (in your case Chewie) began giving away information to the Empire as an informant?
  20. I know this may sound retarted, but how do I place a little pic below my name (for the post screens)?
  21. I'm currently playing a game as the Empire, and I have the ISD Chimera. It's personnel are Thrawn (Admiral), Pellaeon (Commander), and Covell (General). I love that ship!
  22. There is no different screen shot. By the way, I think it would be awesome in the game if the loser of the Final Battle (Luke or Vader) "crossed over" to the other side. I used to play the Star Wars CCG back in the day, and when the Death Star II expansion came out, that was one of the rules. If Luke and Vader ever met for the "Final Battle" the loser crossed over, and the other player gained control of him. It was sweet. I love that game.
  23. Hey guys. I finally got rid of my dial-up connection, so I am now capable of playing some online PVP games. I was considering Star Wars Galaxies. Does anyone play it? The concept sounds awesome, but I heard mixed reviews.
  24. Hey guys. I'm new to the site, but have been playing Rebellion since it first came out. I came across this site, and noticed the download for Rebellion version 1.01. Is it an expansion of the original game? And what exactly does it offer?
