  1. Actually I didnt have a problem with those fights. The way I look at it is that if one was truly powerful in the force then your age doesnt matter. Plus it was nice for me anyway to see why everyone kept saying Yoda was so powerful.
  2. Actually someone was telling me that in some of the prequel novels General Grievous is responsible for orbital bombardment of several planets. Apparently most of the Separatists are aliens and since Grievous destroyed many planets this is a possible way for Palpatine to later on spread anti-alien propoganda as a way to unify the various human factions. One needs to remember that in the Star Wars galaxy setting that humans are the most numerous species and the most dominant as well.
  3. I think thats just extra info they gave because TIE fighters supposedly lacked life support systems and were designed such that the pilots had to be in a special space suit so to speak.
  4. I agree. Its also a question of democracy really. If the people dont want it and they voted on it then so be it. Thats the nature of democracy in action.
  5. Sometimes when traffic is really really bad I wish I had a tank to drive.
  6. Hahahahaha that part of your statement alone made me laugh for a few mins.
  7. If France doesnt ratify this constitution then what happens to the EU exactly? I know that France and Germany are big players in the EU. Germany ratified the constitution I think but as for France since they all voted no to it any clues on what happens to the EU? I am pretty sure in England there will be a no vote if they decide to do a referendum there.
  8. Well you have to remember now, Anakin is/was consumed by the dark side. We know that the dark side is essentially like a drug and once someone is consumed by it, it is hard for them to let go of it. Also, one should consider that killing the children prevents them from becoming a threat later. If you were a jedi child and you saw a jedi knight turned Sith Lord slaughtering everyone and you escaped more than likely you would want to seek revenge.
  9. Very true. It could also be Imperial policy since human clones were in such widespread use that they didnt want aliens who required different environments to serve on the ships since that wouldnt be very economically feasible.
  10. What do you think France will do now? I havent lived in Europe in a long time so I dont know how the political climate over there is.
  11. Well the original Kamino clones yes those are not very cost effective. However, they did serve their purpose which was to be completely loyal to the 'Republic' even so far as taking orders without question, hence Order 66. In that perspective the clones were needed since ordinary recruits would have hesitated or balked at the idea of killing their Jedi commanders. Supposedly over time not just Kamino produced clones but other worlds as well obviously. The spaarti method is probably used which reduces growing the clones to mere months if not only 1 year. The advantage to using the clones is more than just say cost effectiveness but loyalty. The clones will be obey any and all orders they get. Recruits, not quite the same. Thrawn's method is infinitely better since he was able to grow clones in weeks...imagine churning out pilots and soldiers in a matter of weeks with full training and knowledge of tactics. If that were the case then clones would be superior since it takes a while to train recruits. Also, with the clones one can use certain traits which are suitable for the environment and genetically engineer them specifically for their role. For instance the clones in the Clone Wars there are pilot clones and soldiers etc. The pilot clones are in general shorter than their soldier peers and possess faster reflexes which makes sense. The soldiers on the other hand tend to be slightly bigger and have less independent thinking. Also, in terms of cost now manufacturers can standardize the gear that is produced. From an economic standpoint that is fantastic because now you dont have to produce several different versions of one item due to physical variation. I think some people quickly dismiss the advantage of clones when it comes to cost effectiveness and forget about other economic factors.
  12. Linkin Park - Faint
  13. I hear that man. When you look at it, its really hard to see for certain that the Empire is in fact xenophobic. Some things to consider: 1) Humans are by far the most populous race 2) We know a vast chunk of the Imperial fleet and so on is comprised of clones 3) These clones were made (atleast some anyway) from Jango Fett who is in fact a human. 4) We know the galaxy is a big place and that the imperial fleet is massive With these things in mind its not hard to realize that even on all of the ships we saw where primarily humans operated, that does not mean necessarily that the Empire is xenophobic. Humans also comprise the single largest population segment in the star wars galaxy. Since humans are soooo predominant it would only make sense then for the vast majority of the Imperial military to be comprised of them. Personally I think the EU got hijacked by people turning the Empire into a sort of Nazi-empire thing and wanted to make it appear something that it might not in fact be.
  14. Well someone said something that AQ and others could just buy these off of Ebay. I was pointing out that a plane would be cool, but to maintain it, fuel it, and arm it and so on....there are a lot of other costs involved which make owning and operating a plane very very expensive.
  15. Even if a MiG 29 was on sale who cares. Its not so easy to arm the plane..and missiles and such cost a ton of moola.
  16. Good grief! Is it out on DVD* already, or are you actually in a cinema with a laptop? *Might be Chinese and slightly dodgy... Or it might be on BitTorrent! Careful...the KGB..err FBI might hear you.
  17. I want to point out something here. When I saw the movie some people laughed when Vader got off the table and was all jerky. Keep in mind, we just saw him get 2 new mechanical legs and arms ok. He hadnt walked after Obi Wan cut his legs off. Of course when he first got up he is going to be all jerky, those are new limbs that were grafted onto him. Sometimes I wonder why people have gripes about certain things even though the reasons are perfectly logical for the action of something that ends up getting them mad.
  18. Oh no not the cloning debate again.
  19. welcome to the revolution..the digital revolution comrade.
  20. I hate double posting..but no one posted after my last post a few days ago. The french have indeed voted NO to the EU constitution.
  21. I think thats because for the PS2 launch Sony showed 'in game footage' and it turned out that it wasnt in game footage at all but a cgi video done to make it seem like it was. Thats the problem when you get caught lying, its hard to earn someone's trust back.
  22. Nope I had no idea Spielburg directed that scene. Was it in the credits?
  23. So your telling me Frodo went with Boromir's brother, Faramir to Osgiliath and he let them go? When I read the books I dont remember that part. I remember Faramir letting them go when he caught them and so on..but he didnt make them go to Osgiliath with him. Thats one of the examples I was referring to. Also if you dont believe me about some more inconsistencies check out this link. http://www.jackflannel.org/lotr/
  24. I corrected my post about the NO Vote
