Interesting topic. I for one one think the idea is good but I dont know if the EU will really become anything more than just a trading bloc. Too many European nations have histories that date back a long time and I highly doubt many of the countries will give up their sovereignty to some super-state. Europe already has a history of alliances and so on which formed massive countries, just take a look at the map of Europe before World War 1 for instance. Overall though Europe needed to form some kind of trading bloc. This is the only way for instance for Europe to compete with the US economically. The US is already involved in massive trading blocs such as the Asian Pacific ocean one (whose name escapes me at the moment) and the NAFTA one of course. The US and Japan and China alone account for the majority of economic activity in the world, as a result its best for the European countries to form some kind of trading bloc for its members to help spur some economic activity.

Yeah...well I dont know. Lucas seems to always be changing things about Star Wars. Greedo shooting first anyone? And another thing that annoys me is that supposedly..SUPPOSEDLY most of the books written had his approval...then why the hell is he coming up with his own ideas which negate much of what was written already? I hate to say it but there are times I feel like I wasted my money buying Star Wars books if the SW universe wont even acknowledge that those books exist. Because for me, its like I didnt read a SW book, I read something else. And yes midichlorians are bad. I prefer the Yoda explanation in ESB, which is the force is an energy field created by all living things and it surrounds us etc...now with the lame midichlorians thing its like those supposed microscopic things are what create the force...lame.

Apology accepted..Captain Needa.

I dont know...for me its hard to top Duel of the Fates. Even though for me Episode 1 was not so great, I do have to say the part where Duel of the Fates comes on and Darth Maul ignites his double bladed lightsaber is just awesome.
-
Well I have no problem with the 'consume' thing. Its just now the midichlorian nonsense makes it hard to justify the Emperor now supposedly cloning himself. Anyway I agree with much of what Igor said in response to my comments about the midichlorians etc. I just wish Lucas would read some of the damn books and stuff and stop creating nonsense which pisses on the continuity.
-
Unfortunately he introduced the midichlorian thing to us. With this midichlorian nonsense it doesnt make sense for Palpatine to be switching clone bodies. Why? Because that means Palpatine can now somehow clone midichlorians. If thats true, then it doesnt make sense for Darth Vader to be in his suit. Why not clone replacement limbs and attach them to him again? This IS SW here..they mastered the not-so trivial problem of faster than light propulsion. I am sure they could clone replacement limbs for Anakin. As it is, the only explanation for why they cant is that they cant clone midichlorians or something so it doesnt matter if Anakin were to get his limbs and so on cloned and re-attached. Anyway, Lucas has once again pissed on the continuity and now made it seem that Palpatine was only affected by this force lightning. *shakes head*. Oh well.

Hmm. Daala was supposed to be hot, on the other hand images of Leia in her slave bikini outfit are coming to my mind (ROTJ by the way courtesy of Jabba). Pretty tough to decide here. I am gonna have to pick ROTJ Leia in slave bikini outfit. *Begins drooling

You should watch the cartoons before May 19 if you can.

If there was a hot girl in a line I would prolly jump in the line to talk to her.

Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith Script
Skynxnex replied to Cain's topic in General Discussion
I advise all of you to NOT read the script. The novel alone gives away a lot of the movie...unless most of you dont care about being surprised and so on. Otherwise feel free to click the link -
I think one thing that a lot of people like about Star Wars when you get down to it is the fact that its not just a sci-fi movie..but also fantasy. Its something that people in some ways wish were true. Like for instance the ability to get on a star ship and go visit say Tatooine or if your so inclined to go to Kashyyk and see the massive forest. I mean I think that SW represents a universe of possibility, something a little more exciting than say what goes on here on boring ole Earth. The originals (ANH, ESB, and ROTJ) clearly show us who is good, and who is evil. The classic good vs evil story. Regardless how many times people try to blur the battle between good and evil, people love a story like that. SW represents in some ways the conflicts all of us face. For instance should we give ourselves over to our darker side, giving in to our anger and hate at the world or do we be responsible and try to be 'good people'. Thats what makes SW so cool. I know its just a movie, but Lucas uses a lot of symbiology in his movies. We know as soon as we see Vader in ANH when he gets on the ship that he is evil. The music and tone etc just give it away. The music is great, it really sets the mood for the movies very well. Overall though I feel that its the imagination, the idea that some day maybe we can leave Earth and go on our own adventure in the galaxy or something, I think that appeals to a lot of people. The idea that there is something greater than just what goes on here on our planet I think is what draws a lot of people on a subconscious level.

Hahahahaa thats a funny site.

I am here. I dont post as much as I would like to but grad school is keeping me busy.

Sadly some people want attention. Supershadow is simply an attention whore.

I hate to say it but yes China will need to buy more power in the future. China still needs oil to power trucks and cars. This dam alone wont be enough to simply make all of China's energy needs disappear overnight. As for the slowing down of the rotation and so on...I dont know much about that so I cant comment on it myself.

Yep. I remember when I heard about this guy named "Grievous" and how he can fight Jedi and yet he isnt a Jedi I was like "wtf?". I have to admit after seeing the cartoons and seeing what it is that makes Grievous so bad ass at fighting Jedi that I now appreciate his character better. I feel sorry for the people though who are going to go see the movie on May 19th and they will see Grievous on-screen and not understand who he is and why he can fight Jedi. *Shakes head* Oh well. Chapter 25 in the Clone Wars cartoons was awesome.

You are most welcome. Best of luck with the mod.

\ I find his review to be very good. He was very critical throughout all of his movies as the character Silent Bob about many of the changes Lucas made in the original movies. If he thinks that 'Sith' redeems the prequels I think he is probably correct. Heck, I was reading part of the novel at a bookstore the other day and stopped. I didnt want to spoil the movie for myself but I will say this, there are some awesome parts to this movie. I highly recommend everyone to at least see the CLone Wars cartoons that came out. The cartoons finish at Chapter 25 which by the way is just when Sith starts. In other words, the cartoons lead right into the movie. The cartoons also introduce to us General Grievous and you see why he is so bad ass. If you watch the cartoons believe me you will enjoy the movie a lot more and understand what all has gone on during the Clone Wars.

You guys should watch He-man. I saw some of the old cartoon clips and there are definitely some...lets just say 'homo-erotic' implications going on. Very weird.

One thing I hate is when people whine about a community mod that people do on their own time without getting paid for it and people whine about how long this mod takes. Its ridiculous. Most people cant devote all of their day to working on a mod that is for a game in which they arent getting paid money to mod it for. Rebellion has been out a very long time and unfortunately the gaming code for it is very weird, I remember conversations with people at the old rebellion forum board before switching to this one about how hard it was to mod the game. Anyway, I think the people working on Reloaded deserve more credit and some thanks for at least even bothering to attempt to mod this game. I respect you guys and hope that you all continue with your hard work on it.

This is odd..I thought most SW ships had a form of ion drive anyway. Combined with hyperdrive that is all thats needed though I could be wrong. Remember much of the SW galaxy has been in a tech stasis. Hyperdrive has been around for thousands of years in this galaxy.

Piracy: The good, the bad, and the ugly.
Skynxnex replied to BadSamaritan's topic in Outside Interests
When it comes to piracy I tend to view things a certain way. Do I think it fair for a company to charge you money for a game, which you buy. You find out the game sucks and you were mislead so you go back to the store to return it and get your money back. The store tells you that you 'broke the shrink wrap' and therefore they dont have to give you a refund or store credit. Now I mean, thats just stupid. The way the games are sold etc...you have no idea how the game is until you play it. Most companies that sell something that doesnt fulfill what was promised can be held liable yet this doesnt happen when it comes to movies, games and music. This is one of the reasons why I think that people download so much music for instance. Take a look, due to mass-production and the nature of a cd it only costs like maybe $1 to make a cd. Yet the stupid record labels jack the price up to like $15 if not more. The artists themselves usually get very very small royalties so its not like the label is paying the artist a lot, no its the labels being very greedy trying to get a ton of money for crappy music. I also think its dumb if you had a cd, in this legally you bought and say the cd got scratched over time or something so you now cant listen to it. I dont think it makes much sense to have to buy it again when you can download the same songs at the same quality roughly. I only mentioned that example because to me that is not illegal. I dont care how others define it, those businesses define it that way and then pay off politicians to write laws that define it the way they want it to be. The consumer should have rights too. -
I have to say my new favorite Star Wars quote is what I heard in the trailer...here goes "Your under arrest Chancellor" *several Jedi Masters including Windu activate lightsaber *Palpatine's face shows a LOT of anger -"Are you threatening me Master Jedi!?" That was awesome. I cant wait for the movie to come out.

The only anime movie I have seen was something called Akira. I thought it was pretty cool.
