  1. I agree with Grand Admiral Thrawn in that if we include the EU then it has to be all of it. My only qualm with saying that all stormtroopers are clones is that realistically speaking, the numbers given in AOTC by the Kaminoans simply doesnt make sense. Those numbers are very small. The Geonosians for instance in that 10 yrs time could make hundreds of millions of battle droids. As a result I think we need to look at some other ideas. If stormtroopers are nothing but clones then it means Palpatine has other cloning centers from which to get troopers from. There must also be some kind of new technology that accelerates the growth or something because 10 yrs to get a clone that is finally ready to fight is a very long time/investment. Its much easier to simply conscript someone and train them for 6 months. Also, lets think about this for a second, the Empire has millions...millions of planets that are a member. You have to figure that in the Core there are more city worlds similar to Coruscant (albeit maybe not as urbanized). The Kamino clones only numbered what...in the million range right? Thats a very small VERY small army on the galactic scale. Earth standards that number would be high but for a galactic civilization that is as widespread and old as the SW galaxy that number we get in AOTC by the Kaminoans is way too small.
  2. Grand Moff Conway, I agree. I think originally the stormtroopers were in fact comprised of clones...as we see in the movies...but obviously clone production is slow. I think later on Palpatine initiated a conscription program in order to fill the ranks of the army and the stormtroopers.
  3. Wow Grand Admiral Thrawn is here? Plus Grand Moff Conway, wow. I remember you boys from those old days too, its amazing how much the forums have changed. Well fellas, you will definitely be seeing me posting more, good to see you again!
  4. I find it hard to believe that the Empire is purely built on clones. In the Thrawn Trilogy (Zahn's best work in my opinion) it is made quite clear that clones were considered a rare thing...remember Han and Luke's surprise regarding the idea of Thrawn using clones to crew his ships? Granted, what we see in the movies overrides the novels according to Lucas policy on what is considered canon and whatnot but still. In a galaxy like SW where you have city worlds like Coruscant which easily has trillions of people on it I find it hard to believe that clones ended up constituting a huge part of the Imperial warmachine. Kamino showed us it took 10 yrs to grow those clones with a quote of 200,000 units ready to go and another million or something. Thats a very small number when you compare it to the rest of the SW galaxy.
  5. Empire is easily the best of any of the Star Wars movies that have come out.
  6. I am back...after what seems a really really long time. Most of you undoubtedly dont remember me. I was here on the board back before it became this way. Igor definitely remembers me, I still see him online and we used to play Jedi Knight 2 together online. Stratus and Evaders probably dont remember me. At any rate, I will try to be an active member again and just want to say Hello to Igor and everyone else from the old days.
  7. Ha so now despite the fact that SW ships clearly have shields we are gonna argue that its a 'different' kind of shield that doesnt stop beaming? Are you kidding me? ST shields by all rights operate on frequencies...SW shield while are separated into particle and ray are not frequency dependent.
  8. We do it becuz Lord Zod from the Nebula Gamma Cantaris tells us to thats why
  9. OMG igor is so hung up on the transporters idea...if he was debating this at stardestroyer.net he would get ripped apart.
  10. First of all people, the energy capabilities of ST shields and Sw shields, and firepower etc...have been calculated based upon what people see in the movies and shows which qualifies as official material. Second, to counter the Species 8472, there is already a counter-argument as to them on stardestroyer.net, I will merely highlight the fact that their planet-destroying capabilities seem to rely on a chain-reaction....very different than how the Death Star destroys planets. Species 8472 are cowards, the Borg destroyed several of their ships and oh no!! They left and went back to fluidic space.
  11. First of all the Borg adaptive capabilities are heavily exaggerated. There comes a point where one cannot just simply adapt to the sheer amount of raw energy being directed at it. A heavy turbolaser blast is in the teraton range...ST shields do not go that high let alone the Borg shields. And even if they did they would have to have a power source capable of matching the energy. Secondly, turbolasers are not frequency dependent like the ST weapons are...
  12. Classic St defense arguments to counter SW claims to superiority: 1) can beam thru ship and kill anyone by beaming people out to space etc... 2) Lasers cant penetrate ST shields 3) Cloak devices 4) various other nonsense I cant be bothered to type Counters to ST claims: 1) SW ships have shields, 2) Turbolasers are very different than lasers, there is a recoil effect generated by turbolasers as observed in the movies, plus in TESB we see turbolasers destroying asteroids, power levels alone required to do so is astronomical. the ICS which is some kind of a compendium about SW technology states that heavy turbolasers have power levels in the teraton range, mediums are lower around 100-500 megatons etc...By comparison ST weapons are not as powerful 3) Crystal grav trap, plus realistically speaking cloaking fields cannot dissipate the effect on gravity that is caused by a ship or the huge amount of heat being expelled from the ship, space itself is affected by the heat and with proper sensors can detect a 'wake' much like those caused by boats in the water. 4) I have heard an argument about how hyperdrive is not faster than warp...apparently some trekkies think that the SW is smaller which enables the SW ships to cross it faster etc...thats a load of crap. Your average galaxy contains 200-400 billion stars.
  13. No I meant that at those forums you will find out why ST never can or will stand a chance against SW.
  14. I suggest you all go to http://www.stardestroyer.net and go to the discussion forums there.
  15. MOO3 has been delayed till the 4th or 17th of dec
  16. I love these debates...hey Saddam Hussein sponsors terrorism and he is developing weapons that terrorists could possibly use to attack targets...lets not do anything to stop him. The US and Russia did not pre-emptively attack each other due to the nuclear deterrent effect. Which is one of the reasons the Russkies were scared when Reagan started the Strategic Defense Initiative. I dont know if many of you are aware of it but Saddam Hussein has used chemical weapons on his own people, he tested some a while back on a northern Iraqi town/village killing some 30,000 people I believe they were Kurds.
  17. Hahahahhaha
  18. Yeah for whatever reason ME seems to just not want to run or work properly.
  19. I didnt think you had to research noghris.
  20. Dogma was alright. I liked Clerks, and Mallrats a lot better though.
  21. As far as I know yes.
  22. I hope there is an accident as they get transported to wherever it is they will be going and they get shot "attempting to flee the scene" or something to that effect.
  23. Actually I am not going to join this rpg stuff like I did last time. Lack of time due to projects and exams I need to study for and the fact my rank seems to always get lower and lower as well as my post count despite the fact it was over a thousand at the old forums of last year. Anyway it would be a lot easier to just focus on school work and not have something like this as a distraction.
  24. One of the X-wing ones yeah. When they were getting Black Sun criminals to help liberate Coruscant or something to that effect.

    Help!

I think Igor mis-read something from Untimely, Untimely never said this decade he said in over a decade which means it goes back and includes the past 10 yrs.
