So, do you just attack anyone? Or is there limits to whom you can attack? Bugger, that's a lot of gold! Now I feel poor
-
Good to see Dark Lord
-
So, has anyone else been fighting?
-
Wow, that's a lot of gold. Umm, does this mean we've got an enemy now

Haha, I wouldn't go that far Ok, there's no way you're going to take Coruscant with that force. And from the sounds of it, the Emporer is on the planet as well? I don't think a sabatage mission will work - and if memory serves me right, I think somewhere it was mentioned that large numbers of commandos isn't a good idea, as it makes them easier to get caught. Otherwise, I'd have used Luke, Chewie and a few Infiltrators to take out some stormies first, then Veers before attempting the Gen Cores I agree with Colonel Olorin's idea. If you can't take the planet with what you have, then start hitting other planets in the sector, taking out not only the garrison, though also any facilities on planet. This will weaken the Imps and allow you to build up more of a fleet. Speaking of a fleets . . . yours is kinda small actually. All the ships you've listed are support vessels: Gunships, Neb-b frigates, Corvettes etc. They have little to know bombardment ability. You need some actual capitals in there, Mon Cals and Dreadnaughts would work if you can't build much else. You'll still need a few to do damae to the defences of the planet. When I play, I play with tactics based around the Rebel Alliance and New Republic - depending mainly on the enemy. My fleets are based around fighter carriers, and are backed up with a lot of support ships - like you've been doing, not sure if you have many carriers though. I also throw into the fleets several capitals just incase fighters don't deal with the enemy before they reach my line and I'm facing down a couple of Star Destroyers. I then strike planets as well as Imperial fleets and withdraw quickly - unless I can defeat them without heavy losses. Now, if you're still going to try and take Coruscant without falling back and hitting other Imperials planets, then load up a couple of carriers with Y-Wings as they have the best bombardment value of any of the Rebel Fighters, that "might" help - though I still think you're gonig to have to hit other worlds while building up your fleet, otherwise you're not going to do much to that planet except throw away Infiltrators.

As Cain said, we don't endorse or support piracy on this site. Please remove any comments containing such material. If you want the game, you can either try eBay - which can have it really cheap, last time I looked they some had it for around $5. Or, you can try LucasArts directly.

If you read Dr. Saxton's site, you'll see that he cites the fact that the ISDs were originally supposed to be called Imperator-class. Additionally, unless the first ship of the line was the Imperial, it wouldn't be the Imperial-class (the same reason I call the SSD Executor-class and not Super-class: the first SSD would have had to have been the Super and it wasn't, it was the Executor). The other issue is, you'll notice that it wasn't until after the Zahn novels that the ISD started to be called the Imperial-class; before that, ISDs were simply referred to as Imperial Star Destroyers (though, incidentally, the credits for ROTJ call them Stardestroyers...). By calling them Imperial and not Imperial, it makes it that the class is not mentioned and instead a ISD is simply a Star Destroyer that is owned by the Empire (i.e. the same as American cruiser and American-class cruiser). This in no way means the ISD's class name is not Imperial, but this wasn't something that was in any movie canon and wasn't adopted until after EU authors (starting with Kevin J. Anderson in the Jedi Academy Trilogy) coined the class name. Before that, it had honestly been known as the Imperator-class and/or simply Imperial Star Detroyer or Imperial-owned Star Destroyer. Given the relative size of a Star Destroyer, we can pretty much say they're battlecruisers. I could have sworn I read somewhere that 'Star Destroyer' was a term developed by the Empire for their ships in order to instill fear in the galaxy. It doesn't mean it's a destroyer that is in space, but that the name 'Star Destroyer' is actually not the ship type (though over time, it seems to have taken on it's unique type). What I'm trying to say is that ISDs are battlecruisers that are called 'Star Destroyers'. This is does not mean that Mon Calamari cruisers are Star Cruisers, nor does it mean that every type of warship in Star Wars is 'Star [whatever type]'. What makes me think this? Han Solo said "space cruiser" in TESB, and in ANH, he refers to Star Destroyers as cruisers, which could be short for battlecruiser. Why a battlecruiser? Simply because of how truly powerful and enormous Star Destroyers are compared to the rest of the ships in Star Wars, leaving room for larger ships like Executor-class and Eclipse-class to fill the Star Wars role of battleships in space. Another justification is that in Vector Prime we are presented to a new New Republic vessel called a "Star Defender". Okay, there is no type of warship called a "defender" as compared to a "destroyer". This is just a name used by the New Republic for this new type of ship in order to avoid such martial names as "destroyer", "battlecruiser", and "battleship". I could have sworn they were being chased by two, and then Han said in ANH, "There's two more of them coming in, they're going to try and cut us off." Perhaps just something tossed in to make the characters more believable? Well, I'm not going to get right into this debat - I'll leave any of that to GAT and SOCL, the experts. Though here's my 2 cents. First off, I thought there were three ISDs above Tatooine? One chasing them and then the other two trying to cut them off . . . probably wrong, though that's what I'm thinking at the moment. Second, if you look at any of the class types for Star Wars, you know they have little meaning in the real world. It's sci-fi with its own meanings for ship classes made up by Lucas and other writters who've extended it in the EU. There are obvious simularities based on our definitions, though that's just the writers who probably didn't get the definitions themselves. Third, is are some points of interest. When GL had the different SD designs made - such as those in AotC, they used German Battleships for their design. Also, in Vector Prime, as SOCL pointed out, there are the new Star Defenders which SOCL suggested is to avoid the varrying defenition problems - yet there's also the Mediator class Battlecruiser introduced in the same book. I guess that's just to confuse people more And finally, no offence to anyone - though I can't stand Saxton's site. He really sucks the fun out of Star Wars, which is part fantasy anyway. Why try to justify EVERYTHING?

IC: (3099) Diving behind a loose bolder, 3099 was norrowly missed by a Droideka's assault. Pushing his back againt the bolder, 3099 quickly reloaded his DC-15. Pivoting on the heel of his left foot, he then swung out from behind the bolder and let loose a salvo of blaster bolts at the droidekas. As 3099 predicted, the droideka's shields absorbed the blasts easliy. Though 3099 was only using that as a distraction to see what the enemy was doing. The droids had fallen back after taking heavy loses, and pushed the droidekas to the front line. They had arrayed themselves in a disorganised fasion, utilising only their heavy firepower and armour against the clones. They're only a distraction, keeping us pinned down. Why? And then it became obvious. Behind the line of Destroyer droids, a dark figure stood with lightsaber in hand poised to attack Comet.

Rantar took several, long deep breathes to try and bring himself out of his depressed mood. Slowly, though surely, Rantar began to become less depressed. Looking straight at Afton, and smiling for the first time in what seemed like a few days. "Sure thing, lets get onto it."
-
Wow Awesomeness!!! Looks fantastic Floros, even in Rebellion. What's its poly count?

Karn almost cried out in joy to see Afton no the bridge. After the last attack run, a Concussion missile by passed the ships shields and colided with the port of the ship. The shockwave had knocked Kre'nel to the ground and kcocked her out. Now Karn was running the entire ship by himself withou anyone to interpret orders or help make them while someone was busy. Now there was a second hand back on the bridge, and a fighting chance. The grim look on Karn's face faded away as he replied, "I think we should kick some Imperial ass." Without needing to ask, the bridges gun command quickly relaid the orders to bolster the starboard defence. Quickly turning back to Afton, Karn's nerves began to show again. "That will only hold them off for so long. After one pass those bombers will start coming at different angels and what's left of our defences wont hold that off for long. "My idea is to keep Ulic and those fighters still on our port until those bombers pass and then get them to jump them. Fighters and a heavily armed freighter versus some TIE Bombers should be a quick fight and then we only have to deal with anyone else who wants to kill us." Realising he was rambling on, Karn stopped an waited to hear if Afton had any sugestions.

@SOCL: Man, that was a sweet ending - getting even with those guys @ LLF: Sorry, I didn't remember about that thread - and I was way too ticked off to look for an existing thread @ Kaja: 15! Umm, that's just weird @Mad: Bugger, I hate party crashers - though I've never dealt with ones so tenacious before.

My favourite ship is an EU ship - The Defender class Star Destroyer. Though, that's obviously not up there. Well the MCs are great cruisers. Moderate firepower for their size, good speed and manouverability, though expensive and hard to maintain. Corvette looks cool, and is an awesome anti-fighter platform. Againt heavier opponents, it takes a beating and usually doesn't walk away. I'm torn between the Strike Cruiser - cheap, and highly effective in combat and the all rounder ISD. Though, considering my choice of play I'd say the Strike cruiser

Actually, the rear guard will probably be the easiest to fix - the damage is far less, and can hopefully be knocked back into place and no bog will be required . . . hopefully. If bog comes into it, I'll need to sand back the paint and then repaint it - which isn't fun (as my brother found out after he pulled his car apart and repainted it) The door is in a lot worse condition, and will most likely need to be replaced, which I'm looking for now. Painting anything will be a problem, apart from paiting it, matching the colour will be a problem. Oh well, not as if I've got a choice - or money. $11 bucks an hours, working 9 hours a week doesn't even pull in $100. So, I'm going for best bang for your buck. My brother's mate has a painting booth I could use, and my brother has all the gear needed. So now all I need is a new door, some matching paint and that should be it Hey Kaja, how old is that guy?

For those who don't know, a gripe thread is where you post things that or have bugged the crap out of you. Well, I'll start. At the end our Uni's astonishing 6 day (including weekend) Easter holiday, I find out I have a project was due this Friday at 9 a.m. Now, it was on Java - not too bad, though we had to create a UML diagram. They're not hard, except for the fact we'd never learnt how to do them. Crap. So, at 4 a.m Friday I finally finished the P.O.S. Now fast foward to Saturday. Still trying to recover from the lack of sleep I got friday morning, and to top it off I woke up with a headache and got told to help mow the lawn - which is bad because I live on a 1 and half acre block, on a nice big slope. After finishing that job, I got an hour or two to catch up on work due in tomorrow (yet to finish) before going to work. For those who don't know, I work part time in a Fish n' Chips shop (Yeah, glamorous). Great night that was, started off slow and boring until some guy had something wrong with his order. He phoned us up and abused the crap out of us, so the manager told him to bring back the item and we'd replace it. So the moron comes over without it and starts abusing everyone in the joint and swearing his head off. In the end he threw a little sign at the manager and then left . . . only to take a table from outside and throw it into the carpark. So the manager, me and some other blokes go out to grab the table only for the moron to come back threatened to fight us (Now I wish he had, would have been great to deck that guy). Well his wife pulled the bogan away, and we took the table and went back in (mind you all this time, there's a person in the shop talking to the police). So while we wait for the cops to arrive, he comes back and threatens to throw a chair threw the window of the shop, and instead breaks it. That was the last we saw of him, 20 minutes later the cops show up - great timing as usual guys. That day was far from complete, because half an hour before my shift ended my mate was "released" from work. For those who don't knwo what that means, it is a polite way of say: You're fired. Now for today - what's pushed me over the top and thanked the goverment for baning guns in Australia, otherwise I'd be on the news for all the wrong reasons. Half an hour before work start, my brother and I go to start my car. Now, the night (Yes, that terrific Saturday) before I lent my car to my brother so he could go to a mates party (hey he's my brother, so I regularly lend him my car). I hop in the drivers side and onlock the other door to let him in only to hear: "Oh f#$@!!!" I get out to see some damn prick has gone and beaten in the side of my door and rear guard. Why? Because some knob had to screw with someone elses life. What is with these loosers who need to key cars, kick them, and hit them with their doors?!? God, are they that pathetic!!! Apparently they are. All I can say to those types of people are: "Get a job, and get a life so you can get out of mine" God knows how much this'll cost to fix, it's a Series 2 RX-7 - so it's not going to be cheap or easy to find replacement parts. Here's some shots of the damage that bone head did to my car - it was raining so they didn't come out to good http://img209.exs.cx/img209/9665/redrx17to.th.jpg http://img209.exs.cx/img209/5496/redrx23pu.th.jpg I must go now before I snap the keyboard off this laptop EDIT: OH, and I forgot - my grandma's in hospital could this week get worse? Maybe I shouldn't ask NOTE: Heavily edited to remove swearing, cusing and some other stuff like what I wanted to do to that arse. . .
