  1. Sort of, that was part of Wedge's Strategy. The Vong didn't attack the Lusankya during their raids at Borelias because they knew they'd get pounded - so they kept engaging other New Republic ships in system, slowly grinding them away and knocking out weapon implacements. Little did the Vong know, that Wedge was harvesting the weapons from the Lusankya to keep the rest of the fleet well armed - not just the Venture (Imagine trying to fit 250 Heavy Turbolasers on an ISD mk II let alone the rest of an SSD's armament ). And in the end it played out well, with most of the ships that had been previously damaged in battle still armed to the teeth the Vong under estimated their New Republic's forces and they were able to punch through the bloackade at Borelias and escape. Mean while, the stripped and now modified Lusankya made her last voyage into the bows of the Yuuzhan Vong Worldship ending the Lusankya's legacy and that of Tsvong Lah's father.
  2. Short Version: Lets have one Long Version: I think a SWR Alliance would be awesome ***** EDIT: Damn, it's been like 2-3 days since I've actually been able to look at KoC - and I've been attacked by two people. One of them, Dark_Master232, has hit me 5 times today! He hit me with 363 trained soldiers, I only lost 4 soldiers though I also lost a bit of dough - something like $200,000. Which was pretty much all I had (been trying to save up to upgrade my defences - the irony), so now I'm broke and I havn't even attacked anyone! So . . . does our alliance want a target?
  3. Dont you mean right after the New Republic abused Terriks' trust and put tons of fake damage all over the vessel so they could use it in the Hand of Thrawn Duology? No, I was referring to the setting that the picture was in during the NJO peroid and how it (the EV) use to be armed with something like 20 turbolasers for an ISD mk II until that battle. Still, I'm pretty sure the New Republic would have taken back their guns after that engagment was over And if I were to paint an ISD (now that's a lot of paint ), I'd paint it a matt black to make it harder to see at long range. Granted, they'll have sensors - though it'll still look cool
  4. @ LLF: Hmm, probably for magazines - other than that I'm not sure. I've been tempted to look into that field, though like you I'm not sure if there's much of an opening @Mad: Sorry mate, I missed your last post here - just tried your links, though they don't work. It seems to be because I'm not with Gmail
  5. Haha, that's Booster Terrik's Errant Venture which got the full ISD mk II load out towards the end of that Campaign at Borelias. Green could be interesting though . . . how about ice blue for the Chimera
  6. Looking good, the ground combat shots look exellent as do the space. It sounds very much like a Command and Conquer style game, where while each team is different they have units to counter act their opponents on the same level - think two light tanks vs a medium tank for all those C n' C buffs out there. Which is good from a gamers point of view, though could be bad from a Star Wars fan's point of view simply because they may adjust the combat efficiency of different units to fit into the game better. Also, they explosions look the same - though as you pointed out Cain, it's only in transition between Alpha and Beta. Nevertheless, still looks and sounds awesome.
  7. Awesome game that, are you listening to it while playing or did you get the sound track on CD with the platinum addition? Command Conquer Tiberium Dawn - No Mercy, couldn't resist
  8. I've got a few mates who have already bought thier tickets, though I'm yet to - not sure if I'll get the time to watch it yet
  9. Yeah, I was thinking about getting you involved in an underhanded manner. Ever played Dues Ex? I'd love some of that underhanded play. Any way, the idea was that you "join" up as part of our Rebellion and start to sabatage stuff as we go. Such as when Phytho tries to leave the planet (if we figure out how to get him there ), his hyperdrive is little more than a scrap heap thanks to you Anyway, it's your choice on what you want to do with that. Dito for Phytho and how he wants to join up with us on Vathonir. Originally, Barkie was going to have it spread out over more planets - though with Jess on planet with me and Phytho all by himself in space it will be difficult to keep things going. And without Bark, we've lost a third of the story So, I'd say (unless Barkoa returns) we'll need to get to playing on Vath for now. Of course, if we want to go to the depth of something like Dues Ex - you could still sabatage Phytho's fighter somewhere in space with the intent to get him to meet up with us for some mysterious reason that the Organisation has come up with. In other words we're still being played by them (the whole, "we know everything that happens" situation), and they're actually playing the Sith and the Jedi as well, whilst the Sith play everyone as usual . . . hmm, I see a nice cycle about to happen here
  10. Closer to God - Nine Inch Nails (from the start of Se7en)
  11. Nope, just saw it on the news then - started off as white smoke, and everyone cheared. . . . Then it went black and there was a huge: "Aaawwwwwwww" Got to admit, I did chuckle when they all went aww
  12. Sounds iffy - I'm not sure if Afton can leave yet, she just got here and is about to start training troops. Still, it's Star Wars - so it aint impossible Your choice Jess
  13. OOC: Hate to double post, but I think we'll tie this RP thread up in a few posts. All we have to do is get past the TIEs, jump to hyperspace and rejoyce over surving
  14. I can vouch for both T'Char and Phytho - who are already Alliance members with me Off topic: Hmm, you, me and Phytho really need to get back to RPing
  15. Working as a Security Guard in City 17 driving you crazy? Then why not take up Dancing? Original pic: http://www.planethalflife.com/potd/index.asp?id=490272 See, all work and no play, does make Jake a dull boy . . . exept I'm not Jake
  16. Hehe, I did that once - shoved Palpi and Darth in a damaged Medium Transport (damaged hyperdrive), and kept jumping him all over the galaxy. In the end, I forgot to keep an eye on it, so it was orbiting a nuetral planet when an ISD dropped out of hyperspace and scrapted it
  17. Yeah, that'll work - whatever you think is good . . . I was just thinking, where's Barkoa? ?
  18. You mean you havn't?
  19. Transformers Theme song
  20. Wooo! ! Good work!
  21. Perhaps yours? Ouch Hey, nice sig and avatar Scath - the infamously, unknown Rebellion ship
  22. Karn squinted as he attempted to penetrate the barrier of alcohol that was covering his hort term memories, though after several painful minutes he gave up the fruitless struggle. "Ah, I'm drawing a blank mate . . . so, what do you want to talk about? Politics and military are done - so what's left?"
  23. Is it just me, or does that monkey face suite Chewie ? Nice work J
  24. Yup. Would that have anything to do with the repeated failures? Bugger, if he's there I wouldn't even try another sabatage attempt - apart from Palpi being a powerful character, when he's on Coruscant all Imperial characters get a leadership bonus. So that would definitely be part of the reason why you can't sabatage anything on planet. That's what I was thinking, but I guess I got a little desperate. Yeah, I still load up my fleets with a 50+ Infiltrators just incase I will try that. Not very optimistic about my chances, but I haven't tried just taking out a stroomtrooper unit yet. Tried to abduct the general... and that failed; of course. Usually I try to weaken the defenses first before trying to get a character, though at the same time it can be a catch 22 - if you don't get the character, the garrison is to strong to take out, so you go for the character though they're defended by the garrison . . . Anyway, with Palpi there I doubt you'll be able to do any type of sabatage mission. Every planet in that sector is mine 100% except for Coruscant. I'm working with another fleet in that sector on the far right (close to the outer rim Yavin one), but I have 23/30 major planets. Haven't found them in the rim yet, but only have explored two of those. Well, that's good - it will give you time to build up your fleet of Coruscant. Not sure if you know this, though there are some "bonuses" for each side if they do something - such as keeping Palpitine of Coruscant gives the leadership bonus to everyone. For the Rebels, if you take control of every outerrim world, all planets gain sympathy towards you - a little difficult to get all of them, though it can help upset the balance in a game, maybe even the one you're currently in. Yeah, my fleet probably sucks. I do have room (and have filled it) for 32 fighters and 72 troops, if that means anything. I will try loading up on Y-Wings... I think I have a pretty even distribution of X/Y/B so maybe all Ys would help (I have no clue on the difference). Some capital ships with better bombardment might help as well. I think I said this, but that have a LNR thing that shoots back, so I get a ship blown up everytime I try something. Well the troops are useless until you get the shields down, the fighters help with bombardment - though statistically Y-Wings are the best (yep, they're actually good for something). However, the best way to bring down those shields is with a lot of large capitals. With your current tech tree, there's not much you can use except Dreadnaughts and MC80s. Both aren't very cost effective, and you'd need a lot to bring down the enemies shields. Leave your current fleet blockading Coruscant, this will stop them from producing anything on planet and keep the enemy characters there. In the mean time keep your characters researching and building up your fleets. If worse comes to worse, Coruscant could be the last world you take. I think you'll have to wait a while so you can build up some of the Rebellion's better warships, like the Assault Frigate, CC-9600 (great warships, and they're cheap), Dauntless (my favourite capital to lead a fleet), Liberator (best dedicated carrier, though due to their cost still build Escort Carriers - for my large fleets for every liberator I build, I build 3 escorts) and finally the "ultimate" Rebel warship the Bulwark. It's always hard to tell what you need to bring down the enemy shields, though if they're only Gen Cores 1, it shouldn't need to be an over kill fleet . . . hopefully. Towards the end of my games, I have 5 fleets all with 100+ ships, and my main fleet usually has a couple of hundred ships - 200-300 . . . that's over kill Good luck
  25. The book has been published? Yeah, I was tempted to buy it last week though decided I'd see the movie before I read or got the book.
