I sent her a message a while back, a week I think, and no reply yet Maybe we should wait a week or so? Most Uni's and TAFEs have just started up this week, otherwise we can just finish up

Mind you, I'd like it if you had more control over bloackading planets - so you could stop supplies coming through to the military units on planet and eventually force the eneimes hand to strike out of desperation (thus leading to their destruction) or force them to surrender. Any EaW guys reading this, hint hint

I'm not sure if a solution was found. I've had a simular problem with the two computer I use. For me it's actually after a simulated battle, though it doesn't happen all the time. I run XP on both systems, my main computer is an 64bit 3000+ XP, 1 gig or RAM and a 9800 Pro. The other system is a laptop with Mobile Pentium 4 1.9 GHz, 256 Mb of RAM and some Radeon Mobility Card - nothing special though. Both Computers have the same crashing problem, and I've played it on a friend's computer that was a P3 running Win 98 and still had the crashing problem. I'm hoping someone finds a soultion, though I've got no-idea

Yeah, you can't use just large fleets or you'll loose too many systems. I usually create a fleet per sector which continuously grow. I have them gaurd the most important system in the sector until I start getting raided then I break them up into task forces large enough to handle the raiding party and deploy them. Once the threat is gone, I rejoin the fleet. Basic in concept, though a necassity. Leave small task forces to defend all your planets and they'll be to thin to protect you againts a real assault or launch and assault of your own. At the same time, keep them together and you'll loose your planets one by one as the enemy (even the AI) randomly raids planets and eventually takes them over while your single fleet jumps around the sector trying to get to them before it's too late.

Really, what did Lucas sue them for?

Hmm, well when I originally played (as the Rebels no doubt) I went for the bigger is better scheme of things. So, as soon as I could produce something larger than a Dreadnaught along came my Mc 80s and so forth until I had a large fleet. The only smaller vessels I had were Corellian Gunships. All of this was supported by A and B-Wings. Now, I play differently. I start off with building carriers and small support vessels with the occational Dreadnaught in there. I completely skip Mon Cal cruisers and stick to a large number of carriers. Eventually, once I've researched all I can I start to even out my fleets with a mixture of my old system of Carriers supported by frigates, gunships and some cruisers, with my new(ish) system of adding heavy warships to the mix to deal with larger Imperial threats. Personally I don't bother building many, if any, Bulwarks as I find them a waste of money. I also like a mixture of fighters. I don't bother with Y-Wings, though I've usually got a few floating around my fleets from the start of the game. I mainly build X-Wings for general all round perpuses, with A-Wings in support. I either use A-Wings as a second line (only send them in once the Xs have begun engaging) or as interceptors against enemies fleeing. Finally, my fighters are flooded with B-Wings to rip through enemy warships and most fighters (except those damn TIE Defenders). That's pretty much the gist of my fleet, as the Empire I would do simular though focusing more on warships than fighters. I'd imagine an early fleet to be made up of some VSDs, Escort Carriers and probably Carracks . . . are Carracks base tech for the Empire, it's been that long since I've played as them

OOC: I'll start a new character, I guess it would be wise to have an enemy. Just a few questions, are all the seperatists droids? Or could I be a living creature, just so I can have a personality - unlike the new Clone Trooper I'm startin And do you have anything in mind about what the Seperatists will be doing ie. protect Tatooine, chase after you, anything in the future etc. With that, I'll also start another Clone Trooper, as they're pretty easy to write. This one will, however, not be a very emotional character - just plain old clone soldier. IC: (1138) A-23 and the child had left for the planet's surface to get a real Jedi. 1138 was actually pleased with this, the fact that a real commanding officer, apart from A-23, would join them and lead the assault on Tatooine. Finally, we can start this battle thought as he sat ontop of his foot locker in the onboard barracks. IC: (BZH-3099) The floor was partially lit by the dim glow pannel that was built into the ceiling of the ships corridor. It's light cast over 3099, and projected a shadow onto the Clone Trooper behind him. 3099 had recently been promoted to Private 1st class, and squad leader. It was a big step for 3099, and he wasn't a very combat experienced soldier, his position had come up because the former squad leader had been killed during their last operation. 3009, his sqaud, the platoon they were attatched to stood at attention in the landing bay of the cruiser as an honour gaurd for A-23 and the two Jedi. 3099 could hear the three talking, though he never moved a muscle. Unless a superiour officer ordered him to do otherwise, 3099 would stand in the same position until he died, so was the life of all Clone Troopers - to fight and die for the Republic, to obey the orders of their superiours.

To dig up an old thread, are there any new series people have grown to like, or even love? For me there's the new series Lost, though there's only been two episodes in Australia so far, it seems pretty good and has already established some characters and twists. The other series is Jerramiah, an awesome plot driven series based on earth, in the not to distance future (around 20 years), after a disease has wiped out all adults in the world, and now the children that were around when this "Big Death" came through are rebuilding . . . sort of. There are of course twists, one of which that just came up a few episodes ago that links a lot of episodes up (the type of episode that looks like its just to fill time, or another show for the season).

Woo! A new modeller! Nice Bobandrupert, what program are you using? It looks to be either 3d Studio Max or GMax.
-
Looks like an exellent program Mad, and it's free! Wish I new about this program a few years back when my high school needed some graphical editing suites, it definetly looks an ample substitute for Photoshop.

OOC: I'm waiting on something to respond to, until we get into a battle there's only so much my character can . . .except bug you guys I guess I could be one of those troopers that Ulic chose, though it would be getting a little coincidental that we always meet up this way.
-
Umm, what's Seti @ Home and the boinc projects?
-
Yep, 3D Studio as usual - I've noticed that it doesn't work well with the laptop I'm using, the prime example is when ever I quit the program I have to kill the program through the task manager after as it's still loaded in RAM. Weird Yep, working on textures now . . . ish

. . . Oh my god . . . Nothing more needs to be said Except excellent work Fishy, absolutely excellent

Woo, well that's something you don't wake up to every day! I don't think anyone noticed that, took me a while to see the Jedi Council

OOC: Hey Ulic, I'm going to hold off posting for a bit, hopefully Jess will come around and post again to "save" us

Sad, sad day - my Balarus' latest model just died when I opened it today Fortunately the prior model wasn't to far off the latest

"Our shields are full after recharging after the engagment with the TIEs. We can hold off against fighters, small craft though anything the size of a frigate or larger and things get problomatic. Bombers and their payload are problems as well. "This frigate was designed to hold off fighters from larger warships. It's been modified to have faster recharging shields, able to to keep up with any stock Corvette and some small craft as well as adding four warhead launchers - two fore, two aft. "The hyperdrive will be ready for another jump in roughly a minute, though we need to travel to the nav point first. That will make us vanurable for around 10 minutes. "And as for those ISDs, we can estimate that if the chose to follow us, that i would take them a minimum of two minutes for minimum safe jump range. So, we're guessing between 2 and 8 minutes." Rantar paused to swollow. "In other words, we're far from out of the woods yet. And, I havn't seen Afton since jumping in the turret of your ship. I'm getting my personel to bring her up here, she seems to have a knack for getting out of tight spots."
-
Rantar awoke at 4 in the morning, something he was now use to doing. Though unlike every other night's sleep, or in some cases day sleep, Rantar slept pleasantly with the knowledge that things were looking better with Afton helping. Rising from his make shift bed, a light matress on a conrete slab, and got dressed into the only clothes he had. His blood stained, ripped and raggered Security Uniform. He moved out of his room and into the coridor, eyeing the guard hidden in the shadows outside his door, moving to the mess hall and eating his breakfast. The same routine that he had been through for so many days. Though just like last night, things were different. He was rested, he could see hope. It was time to throw routine to the wind. Rantar walked to one of the many ways in and out of the base, and welcomed the sunrise. The sight saddened Rantar however. The beauty of golden, orange hue casting over the outskirts of the city was only matched by the glittering of the ocean, over which the sun rose. This beauty, Rantar knew he was about to tarnish. Today he would take the war to the enemy. To his world. To his city. To his people. To his friends.

Does that mean you actually just sit and read that thread Krytos or has word of that devious RPG spread throughtout the forums? Perhaps I havn't had time to read it for quiet a while though Last that I read was a bit after those silicon based life forms attacked General Solo at his Command tent. @BS Loving it so far, the only thing I can think of to add to future battles is some commentator in the field, who might get caught in the cross fire. Other than that, it's great!
