First off, NIIIC if you're going to put spoilers in your post mention it and/or put the spoiler text in black so you have to highlight it to read it. Like this : P Well, I'm still looking forward to this movie, even if Cruise is in it. Lets face it, you can be a great actor - but no matter how good you are some of your personality always spills into the character or into the way you see the character. Russel Crowe anyone? Well, that's by the by anyway, and as SM said should have little impact on the movie. So, the movie looks good, is based on a good story, has a good director and good actors - what more could you want? NIIIC confirmed some things I suspected about the movie, both good and bad. Still, it's just added more fuel to the fire for going to see the movie. Without seeing the movie, I can't say much more except I eagerly anticipate seeing it. Now all I'll have to do is decide to see this or Batman Forever monday

Nice find, though I personally prefer Thumb Wars

Well, pretty much everything Fishy said - plus a little extra: official SW RPG (D6 ) stats have most warship speeds very close to the maximum speeds of smaller fighter crafts. There are some ships, like gunships and corvettes, that are faster than Y and B Wings and most New Republic warships are as fast as a Y-Wing. Here's a site I go to often to look at some official D6 stats - by the way, it hasn't chagned since . . . well about 5 years now, maybe more http://members.tripod.com/dex_10/index.html

HELP!How can I destroy the defense facility?
Krytos replied to no23op57's question in Questions from Newbies
AdmiralToguroAni beat me to it Fighters do help with bombardment, in particulr the bombers. To look at their values, check them out with RebEd - where you can change them if you wont as well. In the case of the Rebellion, it gives extra reason for Y-Wings during the game as they have the highest bombardment rating for the Rebs. Especially early in the game when you want to assault or raid planets -
Well, I've never been a fan of the Fantastic 4 - not sure why, but it never got my fancy. So I can't really say I'm looking forward to it. Though, with the way that comic movies have been gonig lately, I might change my mind

1138 ducked under the cover of the cave. Inside he could see the battle slowly subsiding as the few survivers mopped up what remained of the droids. 1138 slowly set down the injurred trooper he'd help carry as a medic ran to his side. 1138 turned to the older Jedi, excpecting to see disappointment. But the Jedi didn't have the chance as he was on a comlink relaying commands already. Not that 1138 cared that much, while he was annoyed at failing his mission, somewhere inside of him he was happy the Jedi brat was gone.

OOC: Well, I had a rough idea of what I wanted - but my last post kinda screwed that over and gave it a "Star Trek" feel IC: The Wreckless Wonderer violently shuddered as a Heavy Turbolaser blast caught the unshielded hull of the ship ripping into the decks behind the bulkheads and robbing the lives of any crew members stationed there. The ship's bridge constantly flashed from red to green never ending cross of weapon's fire flooded the space around Karn's ship. Seconds had turned to minutes and time had lost all meaning to Karn. He was now concerned soley about the present, and the present was trying to stay alive while manouvering between the pirate and imperial fleets. "Karn, shields have had it - that last blast overloaded the generator and blew it." This was news Karn had already known. From now on, everytime a blast hit the ship, it would damage the hull and eat its way towards the lives that occupied the vessel. Now, the only the keeping them alive was the work of Afton and a group of technicians by jamming everyship around them. The effect hadn't been instantious, though when it came it was worth the trouble. With out sensors to tell the ships who was who, how far the target was and more, the battle had degraded to a point blank slug fest with an enormous amount of shots missing their marks or accidently hitting friendlies. During this time, the relatively small frigate had hurtled through the barrage and made its way to the edge of the battle. Sweat dripped from Karn's chin and splashed on the console infront of him. The bridge was filled with tension, as everyone knew the predicament they were in. Karn's clenched fists lay by his side as his mind raced with thoughts on the battle. Karn knew they were as good as dead, though he wasn't prepared to give up without a fight. "Karn, there is no way that we can get past either fleet. What are we going to do?" Karn didn't respond to Kre'nel. Karn wanted to attack the Imperial Interdictor - but that was holding back behind the Imperial line. The Rebel fighters had been whitled away to just a few survivers that were either just trying to stay alive or docked with the frigate and the pirates were being slowly pounded into slag. Karn swolled hard, trying to speak. Then pressing the comm channel to the entire ship, Karn spoke the words he'd dreaded to say all during the battle. "All hands, prepare to abondon ship. I repeat prepare to abondon ship." All the paniced chatter on the bridge stopped at once as he muttered those words, and slowly but surely they all began to leave their posts and head to escape pods or transport craft stored in the hangar. Turing to Kre'nel, Karn quickly gave her orders before she could protest. "Make sure that everyone takes equipment from the armoury. We'll be stranded on a pirate world, with them hunting us down as well as an Imperial invasion to prepare for." As Kre'nel turned and began heading for the armoury a massive flash engulfed the forward view port of the frigate and for a split second Karn thought they he had just made his last command. Though as the brilliant flare died away, he saw it was from an Imperial ship far away from the battle. "Sir!!! The Interdictor has been destroyed!" was cried out by one of the only people left on the bridge. "What? How?" Before he could answer that, the comm station lit up with a communication from a Rebel Cruiser. "Well, we were just in the neighbour hood looking for survivers from Hoth and thought you guys might want a hand? We'll hold the back door open for as long as we can, I suggest you make a run for it." Karn was already reacting, ordering everyone back to their posts and getting the frigate to start heading towards the nearest jump point. The Rebel incursion had not only destroyed the Interdictor, though had also gotten the attension of one of the ISDs, which was now leaving the battle to attack the rebels. We might still have a chance now, we might still have a chance

OOC: Been quiet a while since I've last posted, sorry about that - but now my exams are over so back I am to stay and play for another day . . hey hey Sorry, couldn't resist the assonance IC: Rantar mindlessly looked over the intellegence report, if one could call it an intellegence report. The datapad he'd been handed had information from units in the field and several spies that where keeping an eye on the organisation - though none of them had anything worth reading. The best information one of his informants could ever give him would be if an army had been amassed and was marching towards them. Hopefully with Afton's help - this would change, and soon. Planning a rebellion without eyes and ears was becoming an impossible task. Standing, Rantar nodded to a tall and muscular gaurd standing by a thick blast door. In responce, the gaurd opened the door and let Rantar in. The door protected the command room for the rebellion. Inside were all the plans and information that the group had put together since their creation. It was here the first strike was being planned, and would soon come to fruiation with Afton's new squad. *** After several hours of planning, Rantar finally looked at the time. Oh sithspit - I was meant to meet up with Afton and hour ago Jumping from his seat, Rantar quickly exited the command room and ran for the mess hall hoping to run into an undoubtably annoyed Afton.

Well, exams are FINALLY over and I've been slowly working on my model . . . and with a help from Mask (as epr usual ) I've got a working beta model. Now I just need to test it out a bit to see if it crashes anything etc. and to create a card for it http://img159.echo.cx/img159/33/m010yo.th.jpg Test one . . . I've got a little problem with one wing being back to front . . . dang http://img159.echo.cx/img159/3539/m029qs.th.jpg Ok, one problem down - now I need to work on scale http://img159.echo.cx/img159/5719/m033rf.th.jpg The latest and greatest of the three that's now going through some trials Known problems: Well, the first few tries were through saved games. And I ran into a problem that appears to be the same with any imported model and loading a saved game - the bloody ships wont move New games have no problem . . . and I'm checking into what's the problem though it seems to be a generic problem.

If you havn't seen Snatch yet - see Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. The stories don't follow off each other, though watching Lock helps geting use to style of movie . . . plus it's just awesome

Wow, thanks for the offer arbi! Well, from now on if anyone half my rank attacks me I know who to ask for getting my revenge

7 looks awesome and is more than just a "cosmetic" update. It has a lot of new tools for low and high poly modelling, advanced texturing and even has an inbuilt tools for normal mapping (which by the way isn't just for games - it allows you to do some pretty fancy stuff that bump or displacement mapping can't do well for a real textured look - like for skin, leather or any real form of deformation to an object like cracks) I've always found that 0.1 versions fixed the major crashing issues with the program . . . however, as for the latest version (5 and after) I havn't had problems - and even with Discreets new service packs, I havn't even noticed any difference in stability . . ah, in a positive way

What would you want from a Starfighter simulation?
Krytos replied to Stellar_Magic's topic in General Discussion
Ah, can I have a fourth choice? All three -
Ok, my two cents: The "no" by James Earl Jones was good - powerful and emotional. Haden Christian's arm waving acting was pathetic . . . as with most of his acting in it. I can tolerate his acting throughout E2 and E3 . . . but that arm waving was almost as bad as Episode I's Anakin's acting - lines like: "Rolling's a good trick" and "now that's Pod racing" [shuddder] [/shudder]

Hmm, well I could always park in my 2 acre backyard - or my brother's mate's 66 acre backyard . . . but why would I want some "life" size X-Wing that does nothing more than sits still. Now if it were an AT-ST or better yet "life" size AT-AT, that would be different

The movie looks awesome. I'm going to have to see it sometime soon. I'm especially happy that they didn't go with the style of movie the last two Batman movies which were . . . well just crap
-
Hmm, from the fact that you're American - I'm guessing they're and American football team?
-
Yeah, pretty much. Uni, TAFE or any other classes you take after high school
-
@Mad - the planet texture is a mixture of a diffuse texture and a bump map. The cloud also has a bump map to it - which will be more noticable once I animate the whole thing @Fishy - WOW! Those are awesome - and they're just sketches! Do you use a mouse or a talbet for those pics? @J - Awesome GIF, Gif master No wonder we all fear Zoo . . . ah, you know who

A new 60 standard minutes Can't wait

Good to hear things are better now, Tertiary studies can be real prick sometimes

A little bit of play around with a planet . . . umm, it looks cool so I'll use it some day with a movie Clouds are a seperate objects, so they can also be easily animated. And the sun is also a seperate object. http://img209.echo.cx/img209/402/planet026ur.th.jpg

Welcome back AA . . . again . . . guess I should have looked for this thread first instead of the one in the general discussions
