  1. Go easy on your sister, being the younger sibling in my family I know it's our job to annoy everyone else I just hope my older brother hasn't hoped on my computer and run a muck on the forums Back on topic, please feel free to keep us informed on any Star Gate stuff - I love that show
  2. Very nice Floro That's one hell of a ship to have to model, good work Can't help you with the inverted faces, I don't use Lithunwrap unfortunately. Though, there's the chance that it's just Rebellion's engine screwing around with the model as per usual.
  3. Thanks all, lets just hope it looks as good ingame. Hopefully, I'll be able to finish off the textures soon and start the trials.
  4. The only musical instrument I can play is the Stereo Oh, and can also whistle bloody good
  5. This Hurrican is really terrible, I've been out of the loop with it for a while and only now have seen the extent of the damage it has caused. My prayers go out to all those effected by this tragic event and I hope that their lives return to normal soon. The effect on oil prices is also being felt here. Fuels been hovering around $1.20, $1.25 a litre for a while now (because of Iraq, even though oil companies put the price up before America went there) - though it's predicted to go to $1.40 next week and two weeks after that $1.60 I guess this settles my decision about selling my car
  6. Well, that was disturbing. Thankyou for sharing that Tofu To much Napoleon Dynamite for you - gosh
  7. Well, no one else was said they were worknig on it . . . so: http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/9889/battledragon7ib.th.jpghttp://img374.imageshack.us/img374/9581/battledragon023vs.th.jpg http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/8520/battledragon037bt.th.jpghttp://img374.imageshack.us/img374/4168/battledragon041wx.th.jpg The close model has 1899 polys, the far currenlty has 710 and will loose some more soon. Still got work to do, more textures and then throwing it into the game and testing it blah blah You know the drill now I'm adding more colour now as well, like? I might go back and add more red to the NR ships I've done, just for contrast
  8. Well, the obvious use for RebEd is to make things easier like you said - and I'm sure most have tried that once or twice. But, the majority prefer to use it to make the game more interesting. Personally, I try several different things - the latest of which is to increase the chance or traitors for both sides, allow the Empire and Alliance to build ships like the Neb-b, as well as halving the price of most ships to increase the number of fleets and size of fleets (unfortunately, the AI doesn't take full advantage of cheaper vessels so I wouldn't advice trying this too much). Though, there's a lot of other things you can try. Soon, I will be making new stats for most capitals to give them more "realistic" stats - such as the Star Destroyer being able to bear it's port and starboard weapons on vessels in front of it. But that's just me. There's a tone of different things you could try to do, like varying the rate at which weapons fire to speed up battles, or just give it a more intense feel in battles. I'm also planning on making a game where I change the name of a few planets (like adding Kuat etc.) and make it so that I can't build certain ships until I capture the planet by simply de-activating them. So, no Mon Cals until I get Mon Calamari. No special Corellian stuff until I get Corellia and if I get Kuat - well, then I get a lot of new toys. Of course, this is very manual, teadious and requires discipline so I simply don't go and take Kuat and start building up ISDs - but makes it more important for which planets you hold and take. Also, if you download any new models that aren't just revamps of the original models you can give them new stats instead of simply replacing an old model and using the old ships' stats. So you could repalce the Assault Frigate with a Majestic class Cruiser (I'll hock it any way I can ) and give it the Majestic's stats. So, to answer your questions: You download RebEd to use it. You use it so you can tweak the game and make it more interesting and change aspects you might not have liked or create a new style of gameplay. Why use it more than once? So you can try different things each time you play. To make the game more dynamic by changing it as you play (can be buggy doing this though) and to add new models to the game and even change the time peroid from Rebels vs. Empire to New Republic vs. Remnant Empire or GFFA vs. Yuuzhan Vong. RebEd's only a tool, to what effect you use it is upto you
  9. It's always sad when anyone passes away. Rest in peace Michael Sheard
  10. I'm fine - just busy as hell generally with a group assignment. I'm either working my arse off or waiting for them to catch up so I can continue working, I hate group assignments. Oh, I've also been having storms the past few days and been without power
  11. Same with me LLF, I've found roughly where my home is (as well as what's apparently area 51 if anyone's interested ). It's so annoying because the region next to mine has the maximum resolution where you can make out individual cars!!! I'm just interested if you can see my house through all the trees
  12. Here's some official stats for you: http://members.tripod.com/dex_10/NRdata.html Ships like the Majestic and Republic SD are under New Order Ships. These stats are in D6 format - which pretty much flow into Rebellion quiet easily - but it doesn't distinguish hull strengths well dependant on size giving them all a D value (at least in D20 stats, ships have a hull durability rating as well dependant on their size).
  13. The Hapan Battle Dragon is a good model for most people to try. It's based around simple geometry (A lot of elongated cylinders) and can be made almost entirely out of a single cylinder just by extruding it. I'd suggest this to anyone whos been practicing modelling and wants a bit of a challenge - I might give it a shot if I find time and then pass it over to anyone wanting to texture it. But I stress might @D16: As for using those models from SWMA, there are a few things about them. First, and most important, you'd need to get permission before you use them in the game. You'd need to credit them for the model as well. Also, keep in mind that these models are high poly models and could have have upwards of 20 thousand polys. Ideally, when creating a model for rebellion, you should aim for 2-3 thousand polys for the high detail model as too not overload the game. There are some models around 14k for Rebellion which work, though in numbers run slow. Remember, Rebellion is old and isn't meant to have high poly models.
  14. Haha, I do this so often when making a new model I can spend an hour looking at the model thinking that there's soemthing wrong with the conversion or the actual model when it turns out to be I forgot to re-name the files
  15. Woops, forgot about the time it takes until you can actually download the model Umm, our supplier is running late - shipments will be arriving soon! As for your idea D16, it would work - but I'd prefer to make new models with new looks for each ship. I'll have to have a look for any art work on vong stuff. That being said, I'm flat out so that ain't hapening any time soon
  16. Problemo fixed! Not going to bore anyone with the details, but she works and is fatter than the original - you can pick her up on your way home through the model section of the website for a low, low price of 251 kbs
  17. Haha, that cat reminds me of Nermal from Garfield Devo- Whip It
  18. Well, whatever you decide to do GAT - Have a great time mate! !
  19. I remeber playing Cricket in High School - which involved the following. Sitting down on an oval, talking to each other, yelling at each other, sleeping, and if by some miraculous chance the ball came near us . . . throwing the ball at each other As for the rules, I never really cared for them too much - but here goes: First, there are two batters at a time. One stands at each end of the cricket pitch, however only one batts at a time. The bowler bowls (which is a lot harder than it looks) down the cricket pitch to the batter, the batter attempts to hit the ball. The batter is out if he misses the ball and it hits the stumps behind him, he accidently hits the stumps, the ball hits his leg and his leg is infront of the wicket (LBW - Leg before wicket), the batter hits the ball and is cought in the full and the batters are running and the ball is thrown and hits the wickets and the batter isn't behind the "crease" (a line on the pitch that's kinda like say you're barley). The batter scores by hitting the ball and running from one end of the pitch to the other (both batters run, and whoever is left standing at the batting end when you stop bats next). Each time both players run to the other end you score 1 run. You can also score runs by hitting the ball to the edge of the field. If it's on the full you get 6 runs, if it rolls to the boundry its 4 runs. The rest of the batting team sits back, drinks bear and text messages women (Stupid Shane Warne) and waits a long, long time before they go in to bat. The other teams stays on the field to catch the ball and throw it back to the pitch to try and get out the runners. That's as much as I know, except it is the most boring game I've ever played (However, I found some of the cricket highlights a good watch as of late) EDIT: Oh, I also forgot - like so many sports today - it's a rule to have at least one player to model some latest (and stupid) fasion for hair Eg 1 Eg 2
  20. Krytos

    400!!

Congrats Bill on the 400 - and like Jahled said, all done without any spam *Joins in Eko's funky dance*
  21. Krytos

    4000!!!

Congrats Mad man!!! !!! The big four oh . . oh, oh oh! Here's to the next thousand posts of RPGs, models and your contributions in general.
  22. Righto . . . Anyway, the red is . . . I got no idea, it was in the pics I was bassing it off and it looked cool, so there you go As for the model(s), they're done. They look fine in game, but crap in Rebellion again - but I've got a little problem with both. When centered on them with the camera function, it actually looks off to the right of the ship and pivots around it as well. I've tried a few things which havn't worked - so I've got another idea currently to try, and hopefully that'll fix it and then I'll release the two of 'em.
  23. That's cool Jess, I'm not going anywhere, and don't have much time to post on the RPG boards as of late anyway. Besides, out other players appear to be busy as well
  24. Sure, it's possible - it wouldn't get started for a while - at least a week or two, and finishing it would take longer due to texturing it. My texture maps are generally filled to the brim so to speak, so I'm not user what I'd do there. That and all my work will make it a tough task to get done soon. Also, those warships you were speaking of (the Mon Mathma and the other one, which is some different name to what you wrote - bloody weird as well) aren't Republic class Star Destroyers, they're said to have no distinguishable features between that and it's original chasis (thus no gravity wells, making my modelling job easier ) and also either a Defender class Star Destroyer or . . . something else But a DSD is pretty much an better version of an RSD (seriously, same weapons - just more powerful turbolasers as well as 8 assault concussion missiles - better armour, shielding, speed and manouvrability at the cost of one less fighter squadron and being 200 metres shorter) and is also better than an ISD mk II in someways (everything except firepower and fighters, but it's very close even there). So the logical choice for the New Republic would be to use this already state of the art warship as the basis of the Rejouvornator (?sp) class Star Destroyer. There's a lot of talk about it, but in the end I'm pretty sure (as are many others) that the Star Destroyer mentioned was based off the DSD, which I've made a model for and havn't textured - check the "post new models here" thread for it. It's late, I'm tired and stressed - thus I ramble on and on and on and . . . I'll go now
  25. Nine Inch Nails - The Line Begins to Blur I've heard a lot of bad things about iPods, and whitnessed a few as well. Personally, I'd choose a different brand of MP3 player, Creative if you've got the money. Though I stick with my MD player, which I prefer to MP3 players.
