  1. Ah! Now I know what it was: B.E.A.K.: surely you mean shiny, Krytos! Oh no, I've been BEAKed *Runs for cover in the modelling section, where Krytos feels safe*
  2. Wow, digging up an old thread - here's some news. I've made the Defender class Assualt Carrier, which is based on the Majestic with some items released and two fighter towers added. Well, truth be told I made it a long while back though had simply forgotten to upload it. And now I'm having problems uploading it - so touch wood and I'll be able to up load it soon. Perhaps, I'll try my hand at fixing it up a little more before I upload it. http://img388.imageshack.us/img388/783/dac9xv.th.jpg Now, to completely undermind that small event. I've always felt that the design of the Majestic, and my model, made it look weak. After all, it's meant to have the same armour and shielding as the ISD, yet looks like a an old, out of date cruiser that could get snapped in half if someone where to fart inside of it. So, I've decided to remake the Majestic with a newer design based on the old one. Some of the basic cosmetic differences are a smoother hull continuous hull, reminiscent of the DSD. A better bridge. A dual exit hangar. And two engine bays rather than the one. http://img390.imageshack.us/img390/8291/newmaj015hl.th.jpghttp://img522.imageshack.us/img522/2729/newmaj024ut.th.jpg http://img476.imageshack.us/img476/2397/newmaj040qs.th.jpghttp://img476.imageshack.us/img476/5962/newmaj055bl.th.jpg http://img472.imageshack.us/img472/1530/newmaj065vr.th.jpg
  3. Mmk, little update on this small faller. Finished 90% of the modelling, and just gave it a quick whirl in Rebellion with a test texture. http://img385.imageshack.us/img385/4948/ranger2do.th.jpg Granted this model is currently as big as a Majestic - though, it's good to see things are working out so far. Next is some little touch ups, and a Radar Dish, then the real textures and a test run. I figure that the ship wont be large enough to see the majority of details - or the lack of polys on the ship. I may have to enlarge the weapons. It's meant to be around 190 metres long, so it wont be too big ingame.
  4. I'd recomend either Macromedia Flash or, better suited to the job, Macromedia Director. Both are able to do what you asked for as well as being pretty simple and easy to use. If memory serves me right Director can export to different movie formats.
  5. Hmm, what did I get? Well, lets see. A couple of DVDs, a semi-rare music CD, clothes, money (always good ) chocolate (I'll save some for you DC ) an XBox game from my brother as well as a DVD . . . umm, I think that sums it up
  6. !!!MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/1704/swrchristmas1vg.th.jpg Merry Christmas SWR community . . . I'm hoping for a Star Destroyer in my stocking
  7. Okay, did you get a poster with your copy of Rebellion tha ttells you the stats of everything in the game? If not, you cn just use the galactic encyclopedia. Look at the Bulwark's stats. Now look at the Dauntless's stats. A dauntless has the firepower to take on anything short of an SSD that the Imps through at you single handedly. A bulwark wouldn't survive against in Imp Star II Ah, wrong way around Tofu. The Dauntless is the Rebels equivalent warship of the ISD mk II, though over all weaker and carries only 4 fighter squads. The Bulwark Battlecruiser is the Rebels attempt at having a ship that can take on an SSD. It is by far their most powerful warship, and carries 10 squadrons of fighters. Check the online Encyclopedia here for the Dauntless and here for the Bulwark, if you disagree.
  8. Was, though seeing as the irony was missed I changed the post
  9. Nice DC Hmm, not very good at these things - but, I'll give it a whirl. "On the 6th day of christmas, my true love gave to me: 6 Santas stuffed in my stocking!" On Tofu's track: "What? I'm just saving these snacks for later" I'll go now
  10. Got to agree there. Some people have too much time on there hands (I remember doing the same thing though at High School - including seeing the "devil" in the smoke.) Next, there going to say there was a Porsche 911 Type 964 Turbo out the front of the towers. Wow, 911 in the name and 9+6-4=11 T (Terrorist!) Freaky? Or a Coinc . . . ah who cares Simple things amuse simple minds - oooh, look a birdy! **Krytos chases after the bird**
  11. Not sure where you're getting this info B&R, but the x300 might be the bottom of the line ATI new gen cards - but it's still a descent card. And seeing that the game needs only a very old G3 (Thus no shaders, and a very low power GPU by today's standards), it's more dependant on the RAM on the card, which the x300 has double of the required amount (even if the system uses the poorer performing x300 SE). It would be able to handle the game easily, and as the game utilises shaders and requires a high amount of video card RAM, you'd be able to run the game with better effects and at a descent resolution - 800x600 or 1024x768 (without AA or high AF) Bottom line: The graphics card will be fine, as will the rest of the the system to run the game, and probably on/around the medium graphics settings. Of course, this is all hypothetical until the game is actually released and we can see how dependant it is on the video card, shaders, and the PC's CPU and RAM. But, I'd say you're fine with the system you've got Tofu
  12. I thought I'd remembered to fix that Umm, I'll fix that ASAP! EDIT: Sorry all, I should have checked that befoer I uploaded it I think I've fixed it - try downloading it again. If it's still backwards tell me so I can fix it again
  13. Oh my . . . . did I read that name right? **Looks over forum again** The little shinny droid is back!!!!! Long time no see Scath - what have you been keeping youself busy with for . . . well ,since you were last here
  14. Hmm, well there are three different x300's (which is a pretty good card) - the normal x300 (being the best), the x300 SE (which is a little slower) and the x300 HM (which is very slow in comparison due to having a quarter of the RAM). Only the x300 HM would be in question due to it having 32mb of RAM rather than the required 64. However, that's just your graphics card - what's the rest of your system?
  15. Bump! Models are uploaded and ready to go: DSD: http://www.swrebellion.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=117 EFC: http://www.swrebellion.com/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=118 Suggested stats- DSD: Hull: 2750 Shields: 600 Recharge Rate: 25 Hyperdrive: 60 Sublight: 7 Maneuverability: 2 Troops: 1 Fighters: 5 &&&&&&&&&For | Aft | Sides | Range Turbolasers: 242 | 242| 242 | 70 Ion Cannons: 20 | 20 | 20 | 50 Tractor Beam: 3, 20 EFC: Hull: 3250 Shields: 300 Recharge Rate: 25 Hyperdrive: 60 Sublight: 7 Maneuverability: 1 Troops: 1 Fighters: 12 &&&&&&&&&For | Aft | Sides | Range Turbolasers: 28 | 0 | 28 | 65 Ion Cannons: 20 | 4 | 4 | 50 Laser Canons: 25 | 25 | 25 | 25 Tractor Beam: 2, 25
  16. Really? That seems kind of low for the screenshots I've seen. Then again I'm use to the ultra high requirements for games like Half Life 2, F.E.A.R and Doom3 Click on the START button, and then on the Control Panel. From the Control Panel double click on an icon labelled System. It will open a little window with some information about your computer: The Operating System, who it's registered to and down the bottom about the computer - such as the CPU type, speed, amount of RAM etc. If that doesn't tell you what your graphics card is (which it generally doesn't) click on the Hardware tab, there's a button labelled Device Manager - click on that. That'll bring up a list, click on the little plus next to "Display Adapters", which will list the graphics card.
  17. Cool, I'll send them to you later today.
  18. Not exactly. Textures, generally, just add colour to the mesh with paterns etc. to make them look like something more than a flat, grey surface. That being said, textures can sometimes be used to hide imperfections - and in the case of Rebellion this can be quiet effective. But the reason behind the harsh edges it two fold. The first is it's a low poly model intended to only have the bare minimum polys needed. Second is the normals havn't been smoothed (which is possible, though I'm not sure if that it translates into Rebellion due to the file format and the Rebellion engine) However, once I finish up the low poly version (which I'm actually using as a template) I'll be increasing the poly count to make it smoother. . . hopefully. As for the design itself, D16. No idea - just found ther 'perty picture and decided to make it
  19. Update: I'm going pretty slowly with this model (and all others for that matter) at the moment. But here's an update anyway. http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/7305/ranger015zp.th.jpg Added weapons, I need to join them upto the mesh next - as well as add a radar. Currently I've also stretched the model and modified the under belly and a few other things. Kind of wishing that Rebellion had a better z-buffer (assuming my theory is right), as those guns probably wont be seen well in game
  20. Ok, well I figure out my overall problems with textures and now have a working version of the EFC. So due to bordem and the fact I can;t be bothered at the moment working on the model any more - I'll release them both tomorrow as an early version and in the future I'll attempt to remake them as a better version. Speaking of which, I've recompiled the textures for the RSD, Vong Cruiser and Balarus with the fixed technique - and am currently thinking of what to do with them . . . get someone to test to see if they're worth while, upload a new texture pack or a new model.
  21. Strange that they'd stop you using paint . . . but then again, my highschool did as well after some - ah, let's say incidents. Still, being a CAD program I'd assume it would have some capability to output it's work. Have you asked you teacher whether they know of a way to save the work as another file type such as JPEG - or if you're really desperate, print the work and then scan it in. If it's for an avatar, any loss of quality will be neglagable and barely noticable.
  22. Ok, finally decided who to vote for. Whilst I like both characters, I find that Tyran Celchu is a better game character. It creates another, unique link between the Empire and Republic.
  23. I'm looking forward to EaW, and the demo would be much appriciated (particularly soon as well ). Be sure to keep us posted Cain - just one question though. It might be me, it might be the fact I've only got about 8 hours of sleep in the last three nights or the headache I got from coming home from work I wasn't meant to have for another few days. . . but what's with the frogs in your post Cain?
  24. Yeah, it's a problem with the game - but don't fear, there's a fix http://www.swrebellion.com/forums/postt2443.html
  25. Very nice looking mod so far ATA - very impressive indeed (yeah, I know - cliche ) Got to admit that I'm intregeed that the Mon Mathma character slot (even with the "can't be a tratior" part selected) became a traitor - I thought it was impossible! I'll never trust her again
