  1. I love game music as well, like the original Command and Conquer music I'll have to download these once I get some bandwidth back. As for your question, you can always try to see if he's got a site - a lot of musicians have some form of music player on their sites now. You generally can't download them unfortunately, though at least you can listen to them
  2. Umm, I can't remember what they were exacly - 1000 is Grand Admiral, 2000 you choose, General or Admirial is around 800, with General being less than the Admiral, umm . . . Leutenant is after Corporal . . . at . . . 50? 100? Something like that. In the end you forget about the ranking system
  3. Just adding onto what AdmiralToguroAni said, bombers are your best bet at taking out shields. Both a squadron of Y-Wings and TIE Bombers have a bombardment rating of 3 - which is more than an ISD (which has rating of 2 btw)! For the Empire, only one other fighter has a bombardment rating: the TIE Defender with 1. Making the Bomber a necassity. The Rebel's other fighters all get a rating of 1. All in all, carry a lot of bombers with you to deal with planetary defenses - they're cheap, are useful in battle and far more cost effective than building up 20 ISDs to take out a Gen Cor 1 (of course, 20 ISDs loaded up with 6 TIE Bomber each is a different story ). That goes for the Rebels too - keep some Y-Wings spare somewhere, even after you can build B-Wings. B-Wings are far better at taking out capital ships, though Y-Wings are 3 times more effective at taking out planetary defenses.
  4. I generally just retire them, though I have also tried to bring them back to the Rebellion (in the end I usually still retire them). Though Trej's post has some meritt to it
  5. They're a descent ship, heavily armed and armoured and ideal as a centre peice for a New Republic task force, or to support other more powerful ships like a DSD
  6. Woo! ! Do I feel stupid or what? I can't believe that I've never been able to get that to work - turns out to be the simple fact that I couldn't select more than one ship at a time, stupid control key
  7. Hmm, stats . . . Well, I was thinking of making it 20 times faster than the original A-Wing, make it out of the armour used on the Sun Crusher, give it two super lasers, a couple of Uber missile launchers, 1 . . . no 2 planetary shield generators! And *smacks self on the head* Umm . . . to much red cordial for me Seriosuly though, I was going to keep with the interceptor theme. Upgrade it's armour and shielding just a tad, significantly increase speed to compete with the TIE-Defender and give it's firepower a little boost. Pretty much, it's just a generic upgrade to make it fit better in the NJO peroid, though I was thiking of giving it four small concussion missile (with a total of 12 or 8 shots) launchers instead of the two normal ones . . . just a thought. I want it to be more like the XJ upgrade over the X-Wing than the XJ3 or series 4 E-Wing. So it's not going to be a really huge upgrade with every aspect upgraded to the best possible equipment available. With a few touch ups on the model and some basic texturing, I might be able to make a fighter card out of this . . . . just don't hold your breathe
  8. Good question, and the answer is two fold. First, you need to ask Eville for permission to use his model outside of the mod - that's the easy part. The second part is to see if it can be imported into Rebellion. Apart from the fact that Eville's mod allows for a much higher poly model, as well as higher res textures, they're made with Maya - and unless Maya has a plugin that allows you to export to .3ds then you're in strife. Earlier in the year when I was using Maya, I never found a free program that allows you to convert one of maya's formats into a compatible format with Max or visa versa By the way, the original concept art of the RSD is this: http://img325.imageshack.us/img325/8265/rsd7kk.jpg ****** EDIT: Dug up my old model, and finished it off - still has room for some more polys (it's only around 1300), I might try making it smoother or something. Need to fix some of the geometry a little and those two little wing thingies. It was a damn hard shape to make, like Colonel Olorin said, a mixture of an ISD and a Mon Cal *shudders at thought of those two drunk after a party* http://img334.imageshack.us/img334/8462/rsd017iy.th.jpghttp://img334.imageshack.us/img334/8263/rsd023vs.th.jpg http://img334.imageshack.us/img334/4523/rsd032zy.th.jpghttp://img334.imageshack.us/img334/55/rsd042by.th.jpg http://img334.imageshack.us/img334/705/rsd059fu.th.jpg
  9. Double post!!! Here's a new A-Wing I've been working on (sort of like the XJ X-Wing in concept, and it has an S-Foil!). It's currently just a concept model, hence the mixture of low and high poly modelling. All I goto do now is add some Concussion missile launchers on it somewhere http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/5505/awing012la.th.jpghttp://img104.imageshack.us/img104/8059/awing024mp.th.jpg http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/2778/awing033rc.th.jpg http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/6280/awing048is.th.jpghttp://img268.imageshack.us/img268/969/awing068gg.th.jpg http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/3741/awing085ds.th.jpghttp://img268.imageshack.us/img268/9517/awing0100sk.th.jpg The little thing hanging from the front is the front landing skiff - which isn't animated yet. And here's the animated version on the S-Foil http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/5493/camera17ew.th.gif
  10. I'll eventually be making an RSD . . . eventually Started it once, and like the Corona class Frigate had a hell of a time trying to make it look like the actual concept art - I think I'll give up on that approach though
  11. Ouch, frame by frame drawing! Looks awesome Fishy
  12. And will keep going Don't have Ramahatta - though do have an old favourite Sepultura - Roots bloody roots followed by Soul Fly - Primitive
  13. Well, my current largest fleet is only of roughly 150 ships - though I do have 6 fleets of around 100 ships each. The laptop I've been playing on is a Mobile Pentium 4 M 1.9 GHz, with 256 mb of RAM and some ATI Mobility card. It has run every one of my fleet battles without difficulty (though I'm yet to try a very large fleet with it, ie 600+ ships). The two most annoying problems with large fleet battles in Rebellion is that you can't create your own task forces (If I'm wrong, please tell me how to as it bugs the crap out of me when I've got the wrong units in task forces) and that you can't really tell forces where to move to except a few pre-designated positions. In the end, I find all that I end up doing is sending this impossing fleet straight at the enemy to destroy them without opisition.
  14. Speaking of Sigs, I was trying to update mine today - though it doesn't work I tried adding some text, though when I "submit" it, it appears as if something is happening (ie. the browser starts loading a new page), though loads a blank page (with the banner still working) and doesn't change the sig at all. I also tried modifying the link I've currently got as well just incase there was something I was over looking - though it resulted in the same blank screen and no updated sig Anyone else got this prob or, better yet, a solution?
  15. I'll try it out tomorrow, I'm a little busy at the moment
  16. Not too mention that Rebellion wouldn't be able to show all the detail. Unfortunately, due to many short fallings in Rebellion it's very difficult to import any model straight into rebellion and have it run smoothly (due to higher poly counts) and then to look good ingame. I've recently been re-working a model that was made for another game that had a lot of flaws once imported into Rebellion. It's been taking along time to fix, though it looks damn good in rebellion now (after hours, and hours of work ).
  17. That is an interesting snafu Hmm, try some other models from the download section to see if it occurs with any of the others [cough]Majestic cruiser [/cough] A quick question: Which version of Mad's model were you trying? The first one, or the second? I havn't tried the first, so if you're trying it - give version 2 a shot
  18. A newsletter would be kinda cool, though like DT said: hard to put together. Perhaps a monthly letter, that contains a large variety of topics - from SW related (game, movie, trivia etc. ) to interesting stuff happening in different countries?
  19. Yeah, it's something like 5-7 years after the NJO series. Well, after reading your post BS, I had a look at some reviews etc. about the book (including some extremely revealing reviews). And well, even the reviewers were confused with some aspects of the book, and some of the new character traits and . . . ah, force powers. Still, there seems to be some good twists and a lot of openings for a great trilogy. I've also found Denning's books quiet enjoyable and will probably read the series . . . once I get some time . . . which looks like the end of the year at the moment
  20. Nice work Tex The shots are fine, and for those who aren't fortunative to have a copy, they now have a good idea of what the poster is like
  21. To paraphrase Evaders when you ALREADY SAID THIS ON ANOTHER THEAD : And now my two cents. If all you can do is complain that a fan project, done by fans for nothing, on their own time when they could be a number of other things, while coping with real life problems and work loads, is taking a long time - then just shut up. Plain and simple, just shut up. Be grateful that there are people within this comunity that will put in the time and effort to work on this project, rather than sit on the side line and banter about it "taking too long". We don't mind critism, but not this pointless dribble that is only intended to annoy people. EDIT: Toned it down a little
  22. Tried it out this morning Mad. Looks fantastic! http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/7058/tfbs016lh.th.jpg http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/1920/tfbs026up.th.jpg My game crashed after the battle - though that's been happening for a long while ever since I've been working on some Reloaded stuff (long story). So I'm not sure how stable the model is. Also, you can see that there are several areas on the model that don't appear to have any textures - I'm not sure if you forgot to texture them or if it's just happened in Rebellion?
  23. Woops Well, that fixed my little red waggon
  24. Umm, not sure what formats are allowed with GMax - you'd have to check with Mask or Mad or anyone else who uses GMax. As for reducing the poly count, that can be very difficult. It really depends on how well made the model is, and your skills. Still, that's no reason not to try - better to learn on the field then never learn at all
  25. First off, great find ATA Max format means that the file extension is .max - compatible with Discreet's 3D Studio Max series. These can be directly converted to .3ds through Max, and then converted to the needed .x files for Rebellion. Looking at a few of them, they're very high poly - that Bulwark model I've seen on the SWMA, and isn't optimised for ingame play. Still, if anyone has the time and the program (3d studio max or anyother 3d program that reads .max format), might as well give it a shot. I'd offer, though with uni started up again, I wont have the time
