Ok, the chances of Dash being in just went up a little as far as I'm concerned. Seems I wasn't wrong, it was in one of the redone films according to the SW databank. I knew I'd heard or seen it before. As we know; stuff in the films = more likely to get in than stuff that's not. http://www.starwars.com/databank/starship/outrider/ Also I'm sorry, I didn't mean to whip up a < > arguement over who is better than who between Kyle, Dash and Boba. All I meant was they share similar professions and Boba acts for the Empire as Dash does for the Rebels. Kyle I always saw of a less mercenary-ish Dash.

I think that we can expect that particular animation NOT to be in game...

All this talk of school. It makes me feel old

Cain, were there any in particular that you felt would solicit a longer answer? Personally I can't see any problem with them as they are now, but you've probably got a better perspective on the matter having gone through this once already when I wasn't a major participant.

Last time on Darkmark Wars: Luke is forced to stay on Tatooine and work for his Uncle, this time: It's a raid. Stormtroopers assult the Lar's homestead but despite their SWAT team like precision, good ol' Unle 'Arnie' Owen takes them down. Impressed by their mindless attitude and selfless dying, Luke decides to run away from the farm and go off to the Imperial academy to become a man (up until now I presume he's been a girl of some sort). Of course with all the high costs of tuition fees, he's gonna need some moolah. So his first action is to steal his Uncle's brand new droids, and embark upon the life of crime. He hopes to flog them for dosh at this new imperial trade centre he's heard so much about. Now Owen is rightly pissed at Luke's selfish "I don't like farming. I don't have a farmer's accent" attitude, so he buys the fastest ship he can find and sets off in persuit of his nephew. You know how parents are when they have chores for you to do... Unknown to him however, the homeless Ben Kenobi 'Aka. Obi Wan, Aka. General Kenobi, Aka. Kaiser Sose' has snuck aboard, and now threatens to drink all the alcohol aboard. Will Uncle Owen find out, and will he be able to stop him before the amaretto is gone? Is it all over for Luke? And where the hell are all the other characters? Find out next time... ...To be continued... (Insert single load drumbeat) (Again, I probably can't do this in game but what the hey... it makes for good storytelling)

Results and A Poll for the 10th and Final Question!!!!
Darkmark replied to Foshjedi2004's topic in EAW General Discussion
Welcome to the forums. I could say something cliché now like "make yourself at home" or "we look forward to participating in discussion with you", but I won't. What I might do is point you to the Josh's stickied rules if you've not already seen them. Apart from that there's not much else to say but: Hi. On topic, let's not get too worked up about repharasing and intergrating old questions into new ones. The questions will no doubt be reworded since some of them aren't so clear as I would like, but merging too many questions together will just get confusing and result in only half answered questions. -
Dash was like the alliance's equivilent to the way Boba Fett was to the Imperials (correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the way I always considered him). He's a mercenary chappie. I hear Kyle's ship was originally just called the Crow. Seemed Jan spilt some Pepsi down behind the pilots seat... next thing you know, fungi everywhere, like you wouldn't believe... I believe Kyle's exact words were: "What the? It... it looks like Dagobah threw up in there"

Results and A Poll for the 10th and Final Question!!!!
Darkmark replied to Foshjedi2004's topic in EAW General Discussion
You're right Mawku. It makes little sense to have two questions so similar in aim when they could become one with very little consequence. I hope Fosh takes this into account, if he doesn't I might press the matter. I'll also look into the rewording tomorrow morning, since at 12:40 at night I don't necessarily think straight. Fosh, is question 29 missing from the poll for a reason? It seems odd, since you stated it in your first post as one of the options. I feel sorry for all those who wanted to vote for it. I was one of those who went 26 if anyone wondered. -
3D environment on a 2D plain that is. There's bound to be some freedom with the Z axis though. Also depends quite what people mean by 'Roll'. Complete 360 degree barrel rolling is unlikely (unless is some sort of hero ability) but the Z axis freedom might stretch as far as 90 degrees or so. Hard to tell from static pictures what they'll be capable of.

Like I tried to point out, the star of the game - Dash, Kyle - has more importance than the enemies in either of their cases. That's why I believe the enemies in the JK series are just as unlikely to be in there as those in SOTE. To have them seems somewhat redundant, and though may appear to balance things hero amount wise isn't really a help to the overall game. Bear in mind we aren't playing out the JK or SOTE game here for RTS, we're playing out a three film history. They're likely to touch upon the games (having Kyle as a hero for example), but not going to include all of it, there's just too much. Dash may make it, and like I said, I would have no problem if he did. After all, like you point out, Dash does impact the storyline of the trilogy. But still, in my eyes Kyle has always been more prominent in the SW storyworld than Dash. At the time I didn't even see Kyle making his way into the game . Dash's ship was called the 'Outrider' if I recall correctly. One damn fine piece of machinery. Much more stylish than Kyle's 'Mouldy Crow'.

Results and A Poll for the 10th and Final Question!!!!
Darkmark replied to Foshjedi2004's topic in EAW General Discussion
There's no 29 in the poll btw. Might want to get that sorted for anyone who wants to vote that way. -
From what I understand the Accuser is a hero ship, so that is why it is named. I don't know the details about it though, Fosh can probably fill you in better as to where it comes from.

I can't imagine them being of much use on the surface, same for Tarkin (though it pains me to say it). These guys are probably going to be those heroes you may have attached to a planet to have additional bonuses for them, things like that. Thing is, if it turns out you can have them roaming about in space battle in a SD, then surely that should also make them an active character, and as we've seen these are capable of ground activities. Since they would boost the craft they are placed in, maybe you only get benefits out of them if placed in a vehicle to dish out damage. Veers with an AT-AT for example*. I don't know. I think I'm jumping to conclusions here. It's hard to say, until we actually get any confirmation of them it's difficult to predict anything of the way they can be used. *I know the example isn't great. Veers seemed to be more active in the films than them anyway

Dash I could live with, he had a cool ship (Which I believe got snuck in to one of the redone films. I may be wrong about this). As for the whole Xizor and Black Sun think of it this way. We get Kyle Kataarn (I think), but the chances of us getting any of the other characters in the storyline of the JK games is unlikely (Mara Jade being the exception for obvious reasons). So we won't likely see Mohc, Jerec, Desann. They just don't seem to be important enough EU wise, the same seems true of Xizor and Black Sun. Even Dash isn't too important to be honest... With Kyle in, Thrawn seems much more likely to be in now. They've got to be at least as important as each other. Ozzel and Pellaeon were in the films, so they too are both likely to be in there somewhere. JK1 (also DF2) had the much better storyline and characters. JK2 with reborns with transferred force energy? Please... even DF beats JK2 storyline wise. JA seemed built to better the multiplayer, so you're right, the single player was pretty shoddy.

Farmin's too good for 'im is it? Well that Owen 'aught 't keep that kid of his Luke on Ta'ooine I say. Keep 'im coun'ry lad, right 'n' proper. That way them's Imperial blokes get the most of that thar harvestin', and no problems wit' all that force nonsense, eh. Stick him t' the way they used t' do i' for generations, right proper job... In summary for those unable to understand the jibberish: I propose in my galaxy Uncle Owen gets tough (Arnie style) and stops Luke from leaving. Farming is a noble tradition after all, and it's not as if he isn't earning a living. Obi Wan meanwhile goes off in search of a stiff drink... he needs it... poor deadbeat feller... (I probably can't do this in game but what the hey... it makes for good storytelling)

I recommend perhaps editing the way some of the questions are posed when they're collated and ready for action. It's probably not important, but personally I wouldn't mind some of the questions being tidied up a little. I'll see what others think when Fosh has the results. (I can't help it, it's the english student and slight perfectionist in me. I can't help it, honest guv'...)

I'm not really near Medway, that's a bit too far west. I live in a small town very near Canterbury in the west of Kent. But yes, in England.

Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-Earth
Darkmark replied to Garbageben's topic in Master of Games
I have the game and could probably be convinced to play it again if enough people wanted to start a game. Cpu opponents don't really encourage me to play though, since the hardest AI in BFME is easy even by my standards. I play (and have always played) Isengard because Christopher Lee rocks. I don't think I need any other reason. -
That would be pretty cool to watch. Of course the easiest option for Petroglyph is to have them simply disembark from the sides appearing almost from nowhere like in older RTS games. I hope they don't do this though, because it would be great to see rapelling stormies.
-
Maybe I'm going crazy, but I'll be darn'd if that that didn't all seem to make sense to me Here at Kent, University starts on the 27th. It 'aint the devil, just some kind of freaky... weird... freaky... muppet thing... with wings and a bagel.

Is it just me who wants Tarkin badly? He's by far the best Imperial that still hasn't been announced (IMO) I don't know quite what he'd be used for though. Weapons boost is likely, given that his role in the films was to run the Death Star...

I know I'm cutting it close, but: 5 10 14 17 19 26 38 53 63 64

PAL version hadn't really got any gore. It had red patches where you shot, but that was about it. On 00 agent if you didn't use stealth you didn't usually get far. There are exceptions like the 00 agent facility run for the cheat, but managing to do that is more timing, luck and perceverance than anything else. Other difficulties, yeah ok, stealth wasn't always a necessity. Weapons wise wasn't much of a fan of the Klobbs, but like swiftdraw I like the dostevevi. Good round shooter, good enough for my needs. Someone mentioned bugs. There was a nice bug on the first bunker level where you could get floating mines, rockets and all manner of items. Oh, and don't forget the nifty tip for taking out campers who hide up in the toilet airducts on facility, hold C left facing the door while in the cubicle and then pull back on the main stick. If you learn to do it right, you should shoot up there to go get em, weapons and all... I also know how to get a mix and match weapon setup, so have an rcp90 in one hand and a sniper rifle in the other. Boy, I loved the accuracy with that combo.

Ok, the point of this thread may not matter anymore. From the look of things the dropouts (voice actors that is) may have killed the project we started. Plus there's a whole heap of troubles on top of that, so while the characters names were just a small issue while things were running smooth, now they seem almost insignificant.
