I think ghostly had constructed a list of them all a while back. I couldn't find it just now with the search function though, but I'm sure it's somewhere on the forum. EDIT: It was in one of the stickies at the top of the page about heroes. http://swempireatwar.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=774 For those too lazy to click the link and look I will repeat them here:

True. But truth be told, I prefer the world to look slightly sceptical of new ideas. Better we should wait an extra hundred or so years to learn the truth through our scptical natures than all be as believing in the absurd as conspiracy nuts do. If we believed everything the media threw our way we'd have all kinds of 'mindwashed people' doing exactly what they were told to do, no matter how much it defied logic. I know the coming example is extreme, but I like making examples: Someone says jump off a cliff, the updraft will keep you airbourne. Their evidence for this is that the guy telling you to do it says he's done it and it works. Feel like jumping? I need fully authenticated proof before I believe in extremely unlikely theories. One program professing to have discovered what could have been a dragon or one claiming the moon landing never happened isn't enough for me. When there's ample evidence to the contrary there seems every reason to scrutinise the one (and possibly only) piece of 'evidence' that arises supporting the slightly bizarre one.

1) Ok, so we have 5 basic types of creature that are considered all around the world. Birds Insects Fish Lizards Mammals In mythology, you can find many creatures that simply form by a mixture of two groups. Dragons obviously are a mixture of Lizard and Bird. It's obvious that the idea would perhaps originate in several places in the world, though in differing forms and different tales. The original concepts would be vastly different from how we think of dragons now, but as word of mouth (ie: folk stories generally) allowed these to spread with travellers, the varying concepts merged and became more similar to the modern equivalent. A similar modern parallel comes with the lightsaber. The concept of that was as early as the 19th centuary in several of the early science fiction writers. Mr. Lucas hit on an idea, but it wasn't original. It is however what we think of when we hear about a blade of light as a sword. You can come up with an idea that has already been done and not know about it, and this is what happend with dragons and other mystical creatures. There are many different types of vampires/vampire legends from around the world. Only the european one was afraid of catholic symbols and afraid of the dark. 2) When you consider how many distinct dinosaur skeletons have been found for the one type alone (ie: T-Rex), this vastly outnumbers one so called corpse. Bare in mind although it looks like a wonderful way of preserving things, ice isn't the most common way of preserving remains. Being buried below tons of sediment is. Also, a creature that breathes fire (or at least one that is capable of producing it in breath) was living in an area of low temperatures? How many lizards do you see in the arctic? Lastly, and most importantly, how many alien sightings have there ever claimed to be? How many of them do we really believe happened? One skeleton doesn't prove anything, 3) No, but consider how many we've found already. Compare it to how many 'dragon' ones we've found. The sheer amount of dinosaurs found, with the full knowledge there are many, many more to find, proves they exist. The amount of 'dragons' found is far from evidence of anything.

They couldn't have lived. Although there is little written word from the middle ages, there is record of minor 'local' events in various forms. Some are written in the latin by scribes taught in it who worked for the church, others are by nobles who were taught it, and by other means though not necessarily written. Dragons could not have existed. Think about bones. Consider how many dinosaur bones have been found. In all this time, don't you think we would have found the remains of one. I mean, think how long ago dinosaurs died out compared to how long ago the Dark ages were. The times speak for themselves. Dragons are just the object of the imaginations that spread to become a common myth.

No. The Dark Ages were named thus, since in terms of knowledge there was very little change. All documented word from the Romans before them was in Latin, and therefore the only people with access to understanding it were those in religion. As a result all the knowledge of cleanliness and the Greek medicinal methods was 'lost', so sicknesses became common. The period is followed by the 'Renaissance'...rebirth, when the knowledge held in the Latin became widely available via the invention of the printing press. Nice little bit of history for ya...

Qui Gon. Always one for dishing out the supposedly insightful knowledge... Always a bigger fish, eh? Bigger than everything? Surely that means God (or infinite equivilent like the universe) is a fish... hmmm. But if God is a fish, there must be a fish bigger than him. If that exists, then there's a fish bigger than that. It's a paradox... a very fishy paradox at that. So yeah. He's by far the coolest Jedi. He's how I imagined Jedi to be from the info given in the original trilogy.

I'm sure by now some of you of you have noticed Fobdo's spamlike thread in the pub. He still retains his same sig (I must admit I have some confusion over the sig. It does fit the under 100-150kb limits at 77.3 so I'm not sure how it is a problem) even after being asked to resize it. How many strikes has he had so far? The spam thread constitutes another to that... He doesn't seem to be complying in the slightest. Banning, although harsh on Hadoken who has done nothing but be an active, valued part of the community, is slowly becoming the only reasonable course of action for dealing with his brother.
-
You've been asked to resize it several times to an acceptable size, and while you may well have resized it, those few pixels you excluded were not enough. You were also told what the consequences would be should you fail to do as we asked in accordance with the standard we keep. It's only a matter of time before the admin throw the book at you.

Later's fine. I wonder what the milestone is, whether it is EAW related or P-02 related? Either way, it's better for everyone that they wait to finish off that 'milestone' first, the poor guys must be swamped with work.

Sparky's right, you have the wrong link. This one leads to a pic of ship/unit/research boxes and their prices. I think I know the one you mean though... it's the one with the mercenary guy looking a bit like Han, right?

Not always, some expansions disallow you to use the original game because they overwrite the files. I know it's not so common with RTS games, but it would have caused problems here if it had been the case. I've played briefly, and so far I do like the whole general and command squad hero. I've yet to try out the baneblade, but from what I've seen of the Imperial guard they're a great addition. I also need to check out the chaplain for my usual space marines...

In these ages of slightly more 'spectacular' 3d gaming, AOE3 doesn't quite size up so well (at least from what I experienced in the demo). Perhaps given the time and cash, I might indulge myself by buying it, but for now I'm waiting for others that would keep me hooked for the long haul.
-
Ok, thanks. That's all I needed to know.

Just recieved the package with the game in the post this morning... what with Uni commitments I haven't had the time to install it yet. From what people are saying, the Baneblade sounds pretty cool. I'd really like to check out the damage it deals. By the way, when I install does it overwrite the first game completely, or work like Warcraft3 where you could still play the original sans expansion pack? I only ask since I'm the only one as of yet to get it over our internal network here. I'd like to still play those games with my friends who have the old game, but also play the expansion on my own or online when they're not in the mood for playing it...

Welcome to the forums. I had a look through all the saved videos I had and failed to find anything resembling the 12 legged SPHA-T. All I found was the normal SPMA-T artillery, but still I may just have just missed it. If else anybody has managed to have seen it, point out which video exactly and the time in the video where it appears and I'll will attempt to grab some screenshots.

Looking good. The beginning works much better than the later paragraphs, however in general it seems pretty decent. Your explaining of back-story and creating setting I found to be the most promising, however the data entry itself is too broken up. Perhaps by merging the paragraphs a little you could perhaps alleviate the staggered feeling it gives. While this may have been what you were going for, so early in any piece it does consistently break the readers attention from the events, when maintaining attention should be a priority. Like I tend to say, this is all constructive criticism, I don't mean to offend by pointing out the negatives. Bear in mind there are just as many features of it that I like. Not least the initial two paragraphs, which as I mentioned are very good for creating setting and tone.

No, he means 'Dark Lord Exus Magnus'. I must admit I haven't seen him about on the forums anytime... he's probably around though.

Or one of the individual hardpoints for capital ships represents a shield generator on board and taking it down takes down the shields. To be fair I prefer to think its designed the way you say, but we really can't say. I wonder if Little.B noticed how they worked...

I'm thinking they're an upgrade of some sort that's applied to that group of units. I can't imagine those will be the default set up for the stormies.

There are sure to be hundreds of unconsidered topics people could start, or bring up old ones on the more updated knowledge. However, I must admit, the types of topics recently have been a bit repetative.

All of the Super Star Destoryer Classes...

I bet that thing lets off one hell of a big explosion if it's destroyed... -
Ok, I did misread it. Sorry about that. The gyst of what I said remains the same though. I just can't take a picture of myself... I lack the resources. However for those vaguely interested in my physical form, it's something not all too dissimilar to this: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/Lord_Darkmark/SouthParkMe.jpg

Nah, it's not about Empire at war so I 'aint moving it. It does seem better placed here content wise. Also... I wouldn't want to interferre with the guy who actually moved it here. He might get mad.

Cowardice has nowt to do with it, I have no digital camera, scanner or one of those eye thingies that sits atop the computer staring at you. Maybe if I could be bothered I would draw a pic of myself, but I think I'd even do that half-heartedly.

Yes... I don't tend to get any more programs than I can help, especially ones that run in the background... it makes me so, so sceptical. Also, the phrase 'contacts free' does little to sap the overwhelming urge to be so sceptical. So sceptical? Not 'alf. If anyone wants to fix up a game with me they usually know where to get me anyway. I'll be right at the back of that room TSKNF just cleared, probably not paying attention. (on another note, seems very odd not typing Indum)
