  1. I second that motion. He can't be any worse than the monkey thay have at the moment. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/Lord_Darkmark/Random%20Rubbish/FoshMonkyUsa.jpg Your monkey really does need YOU!
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Geonosis in? If I'm right about that, then Mustafar is likely, simply because its one of the major planets of EP3, just as Geonosis was for EP2.
  3. I'd be interested to see whether the armour for stormtroopers changes depending on terrain, or if snowtroopers, sandtroopers and stormtroopers are all seperate units. If the armour changes, perhaps the Rebel uniforms change depending on what planet you're on, so your normal rebels become 'Endor infiltrators' when placed on forest planets.
  4. It may just be me, but from the looks of things most of the recent posts have been more about inquiring what the game will include other than about suggesting new ideas. You've also got to realise, that any of our suggested creative ideas are just that, ideas and not the reality. Petroglyph knows what they're doing, so I doubt that we're going to see a finished game where only a genius or statastician can hope to ever play.
  5. I know I missed the announcement because I was away, but don't think that makes me any less enthusiastic about joining a online multiplayer with you guys if the demo is capable. I'm surprised people forgot about me so easily .
  6. Yes I've seen it. I wouldn't blow up coruscant. The Imperials (and the rebels if they capture it) probably get big bonuses from having it under their control. To destroy it rather than taking it back for the resources/bonuses seems a little foolhardy. Ok. I was going to post an ep3 of all that random story-thing I was fooling about with, but if I do I'm afraid I'll just end up spamming this forum, so for now I wont. In time I may move it to the fan fiction area (hey, it's closer theme wise to putting them in here).
  7. The forums there are far from perfect, but it does make you do feel sorry for them. It's not as if they ask to have all the spammers and trolls. Strange how the mods still haven't sorted it yet though (Unless it was even worse earlier )
  8. As is Bail Organa... wouldn't mind seeing him in game. Pretty likely too. But yeah. I wonder how the emperor goes about melee combat? Do you think he uses lightning as a default attack (not unlike in Galactic Battlegrounds), or is it more likely as a special power attack, like Vader's force crush?
  9. I know it's been a long time since people last talked of it here, but I just recently took a look into BFME2 to see how it was going and in the process found some IGN vids for it. I posted a link for everyone else interested. I'm trying not to get interested in it too much, seeing how the first game disappointed, but some of the things in the videos looked pretty damn good. It strange, it looks the same, but looks to play entirely differently. I can't explain how exactly. Also thumbs up to them for the 3d water effects in the first vid, very wet looking. http://media.pc.ign.com/media/761/761534/vids_1.html I thought I already did... I mean... Uh... ...Oh look a block of wood. Let's all go look at the block of wood.
  10. Campaign no. Skirmish wasn't all that unfamiliar. Same principle, army sizes. It was never going to be exactly the same, because AOE2 wasn't a true 3d environment. Things change. Methods of building games change. It's only natural that some of the magic elements that made the originals would be lost. Remember, it's only a demo. We have no idea how it will play with all the other races.
  11. The retreats show units in the classic style of moving forward, not backward as they retreat. By this I mean they rotate 180 degrees and run for it. The video is the long 47 minute one, and they show several retreats during the course of it. I would like to see fire during backwards movement in game, because I feel it worked very well in 'Dawn of War' and would like to see it again but done even better. However I'm no fool to suggest this late in development they will add that in. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it really does look unlikely. Also, it doesn't make sense for certain units (An AT-AT for example) to move backwards while firing forwards. So for ground portions it's not a big issue, in my opinion. As for space fire, I've seen nothing to suggest they stop firing when things aren't in range. This is probably true of while they retreat (Although we have no idea how quickly a hyperspace jump retreat can be pulled off after it is ordered. If it is fast then it doesn't really matter whether they fire or not in the split second before the jump.) A link to the 47 min vid can be found here: http://swempireatwar.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=93&start=0
  12. They are bugs, but I like finding problems like that. Has anyone got a home city above lvl 9? I think that's where they've limited it, but I'm not certain.

    WE HIT 200!

Uuh. I could celebrate the 200 members thing (w00ts and giggles btw), but since I missed it and since we're actually closer to 250 so I think I'll wait until then before celebrating. Then again, that's only to stop me from eating this left over pizza from 150 members. It's now black and mushroomy (bear in mind it wasn't a mushroom pizza)... but it's just soo gooood.
  14. Shot on sight. Ah, the good old days...
  15. Great minds think alike. I also built a second town on the island. It was my farming Island (and then later Capitol). Sorry ghostly, I had a go, but I can't find a way to demolish buildings either. Oh, anyone else notice how the native americans you can hire on that level are the size of ants and unselectable? The missions/campaign I disliked mildly too, since they didn't feel aoe like. Maybe it's just the setting of early america I don't quite feel fits. I mean, it's fine for all those patriots aout there, but let's not forget there's a whole lot more to world history than just that. Skirmish though, that I like (feels moe AOE like). But still, lots of people were/are under the impression AOE3 would be far better than EAW. From what I've seen so far I have to wonder why exactly. Sure it's a good RTS, but so are lots of games, games that won't require top of the range specs. I know which one of the two I'm looking forward to more. Ok, that sounded pessimistic. Like I said I do like the skirmish and the customisable tech tree... and the trade trains
  16. Ooh, ooh... I get his dog bowl. What? I need a dog bowl. Don't try telling me I don't. The pop cap gets annoying occasionally and battles aren't always epic, but as far as sticking with it and getting it to a stage where it plays a mostly balanced, enjoyable RTS, Blizzard have done well. They supported the community well, and so it still remains popular. Mass teleport from the Archmage anyone? Makes hit and runs on specific area, plus the all important full retreat a walk in the park (Not that they actually programmed in a park to walk through. If they did that, then I'd start having some second thoughts about blizzard).
  17. Anybody else notice how the British cleric guy walks on his side. The animation needs to be rotated 90 degrees. Yeah seeems pretty darn good. I like the customisable tech tree, because it should open up a whole world of different tactics depending on what you choose. I agree with Josh on the limitations on resources. It was a bit annoying when I hit the cap for most things, peasantry, buildings... If I want to populate my land with manor houses when they serve no purpose anymore that should be my choice. I like making true towns and cities. What kind of town has only two homes? But yeah, not disappointed. I can see myself keeping at the demo until I have a home City of lvl25. That's pretty good.
  18. I hardly used the transport capabilities in Galactic Battlegrounds. There just seemed no real point other than the defence. Stormies were faster than them though, so you go for the quick assult. I hope the AT-AT transport usage in EAW actually serves to be more tactically sound. I mean, it can have a fancy animation to it, but at the end of the day if the actual action isn't useful, why bother?
  19. It will have both and I'm willing to bet it will be on a 'cloud city' like surface floating peacefully in the clouds... I mean, if there even was a true 'ground' surface to bespin; when do we see it, hear about it or even give a second thought about it. So what to LEC or Petroglyph gain from making it? They aren't going to waste an oportunity to use an arena of action from the films. Think carefully, they won't likely do a 'surface' for coruscant either. Taking this into account, there's bound to be some way they've made cloud city (not inclusive, I would guess, of the interiors).
  20. Online with the 'quick match' people tend to abuse the strength mordor has over any army early/mid game. People say it gets weaker late game, but with people abusing a catapault bug I can't say I've noticed it. (Though I can't say I've made it much to late game vs a good Mordor. Isengard stands little or no chance) However if you arrange your own games with friends online that you know are in it for a friendly match up then this doesn't matter so much. Friends are less likely to approve a match where the chances of one player winning are far greater than the other. They're also much less likely to quit on you in a team when you're in the middle of 2vs2 game
  21. That's a very nice avatar. Yeah, I used to use the the dwarf lord a lot when I played. That axe throw of his is very good for disrupting enemy heroes. Alongside an Archmage they make for good teamwork. I think people have difficulty with enemy heroes because their opponents learn to creep quickly and well. I must admit I was never wonderful, but if you can keep levelling them as much as possible until lvl5 you stand a much better chance of fighting back. Also having 3 mediocre heroes is much better than one overly powerful one, more skills at your disposal, more chances to disrupt. Oh, and if you can buy a potion for them. If you use it well it can sway the tide of battle more than the same cost wise of units.
  22. There was a reasonably big update yesterday. New items and areas and what not. I'd be interested to see what others thought of it. And because I originally posted it in the wrong place: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/Lord_Darkmark/GuildWarsMonk.jpg And because times change: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/Lord_Darkmark/Guild%20Wars/GuildWars002.jpg On the european servers. The tag for our guild is 'DotB'. I'm Monk/Ranger lvl20.
  23. Nice. Downloading... 1h42 to go. It's 365MB btw for those with space/download speed issues. Yikes.
  24. I already stated the case for not combining too many questions: You'll also find if you head over to the thread with the updated questions, Cain asks specifically we don't make the questions too long or probing, since the LEC PR guy has to approve them first. If the votes for the two questions were more, and if the questions themselves were ones likely of getting an answer for, I might have felt differently. But I don't.
  25. Last year of my BA. I'll be able to put BA after my name, that's pretty darn cool (and also deeply worrying)... Ack. There are quite a few people from the US around, it just seems that the community here is a little more international than most places. The two Vaders are American (I gather) and there are bound to be others. I would do too, but: 1) Uni hasn't stated yet, so no commitments there. 2) I'm too lazy to head to Asda when there's a small local shop here. 3) I have no valid buss pass which means I have to pay about £2:00 for a return ticket. That's one pound per trip... which isn't actually that much, but I needed three reasons to make it seem more rounded as an arguement. So yeah, 2 quid. It's an atrocity! Ok, it's 2:10 in the morning here. That means all my sane Bristish comrades are most likely off counting sheep (and some of the less sane welsh ones). I wonder who you were "The mysterious unidentifiable guest from two posts ago" but in any case... I salute you. Hmmm... I've just thought. This strange rambling insanity, maybe that's what sleep deprivation feels like. I gotta get some shut eye...
