  1. The Circle is now complete. I found it to be above average. As I don't have the time to write a complete critic on the film, I will sum it up: The Good: The Saber battles, the four duels were very good. I liked much the parallel telling of Yoda vs Palpy and Obi vs Anakin. The way that Mace ends is also pretty good (I had the urge to keep screaming infinite power all day at Uni). Palpatine and Kenobi: These two guys steal the show, one for the pure evil he manifests the other because he is the hero of the prequels, and he ends up betrayed and hurt, it is true Ben that he perceive the movies atmosphere. His fight with GRiveous was very good, and a fitting one-liner to toss at the dead griveous. Anakin and Kenobi: The duel was very good, both on a graphic cinematographic level as on the betrayal level. The short scenes: The Jedi's deaths all over the galaxy were pretty impressive to watch, dark without being explicitly violent. The planets: ever since I watch ANH,I had wanted to see Alderaan. Seeing Kashyyyk and all those other worlds really added a more galactic dimension to Star Wars. The tendency tot he OT: Tantive IV, DS, young tarkin, Chewie, SDs. Seeing this little reminders help tie both trilogies. The bad: The beginning: The very first scene was amazing to watch. The two fighters through the space battle, but after that it started to get boring. The battle at times felt more like a video game. Battles: Corsuscant battle, and Utapau ground battle were much in prequel style too ecclectic, too chaotic. Too much action going on without little importace. Opposed to the OT where one could slightly identify single pilots . Quiet scenes: The more sentimental scenes never seemed at place, because there was always action going on somewhere else. The ugly: Dooku: It was a waste of a good actor, in a character that if developed differently could have done a lot for the movies. He dies because he is required to advance Anakin's plot, otherwise his absence wouldn't be noted. Animals: That ugly lizard, and ugly camel obi-wan rides are to say the least: UGLY. Kenobi could as well have used a speederbike for chasing GRiveous or a least ridiculous animal. For the ending I would have preferred him disappear into the desert, walking, to bind it to the way he appears in ep iv. out of nowhere. Speed: The movie was too fast-paced, at times too forced. Too many short scenes that could have been given an extraminute or two. Some scenes that were filmed are definitely missing in this episode. namely the Alliance foundation and qui-gon scenes. Too bad. Conclusion: An overall good movie, my expectations weren't too high, but I definitely expected more of this that of the other two. Lucas really should fatten up this movie up to six hours and slice it in three, (whilst compressing eps I and II to a fifteen minute prelude) and release that as the prequel trilogy. SEriously, this movies could have perfectly been fattened up to elaborate the dark atmosphere, so it does not go out as fast.
  2. The ROTS soundtrack playing in my head.
  3. I must apologize to Cain, it is a pretty accurate version of the movie. I haven't read it fully, there is no need for that once you have seen the movie, there are some extra scenes on the script which due to Lucas's scissors won't be in the movie.
  4. I SAW IT I'm just back from seeing it. I'll comment briefly and without giving much away. It is a good movie, though some of the parts of the beginning have a distinct Ep I - II feel to it, it recovers from it as soon as McDiarmid and McGregor (Palpy and Ben Kenobi) start to take over the movie with great performances. As the movies starts to move towards the original trilogy it definitely starts to get better. The duel(s) are great to watch, and were pretty elaborate. I shall comment on this once more people have seen it. By the time I ended I felt that this movie should have been fattened up to 6 hours and then sliced in three movies. The best of the prequels, though still not up to the level of the OT. Some quickies: Jar-Jar says not a single word. It is not a children movie, it is violent and dark. Not ESB dark, a different sort of darkness: The one that comes with betrayal.
  5. Aye my dell laptop is about the nosiest thing I have, it overheats and shuts down without an apparent reason to do so.
  6. I'm sure you can find reference to the pictures in the eIII novelization too, and most of the dialogues can also be found in the novelization.
  7. Do you have a double personality, Kaja? In one thread you have $3K for a new computer, due to a high-paying job, in another your parents won't allow you to buy a $300 master replica, and in another about a year ago you turned 12... I'm officially confused.
  8. I personally want to buy a new PC but have decided to build it myself it isn't that hard and it is much-much cheaper. Either way: I'd advise you to wait till June or July for AMD and Intel to come out with Dual-Core processors, (SLI [Dual-Video card would be nice though it would raise the price far beyond the 3K)). Insane amounts of RAM, two or more HDDs, and a good Audio Card ar a must. And all the obvious stuff (DVD+-RW), insane amounts of USB ports, bluetooth for all the cellphne freaks. If you build it yourself and already have a good monitor, and all the peripheral stuff you don't need to buy that again, which frees up more moneny for more RAM. As for videocards, I'd go for a Nvidia 6800 GTU, it's a bit pricey but the best one there's right now. At newegg.com you can find hardware listing and prices, even if oyu go for a company, you might want to check how it'd cost you if you built it yourself.
  9. I've never been a fan of consoles, and this one fails to impress me. I've read the release notes and the gamespot reviews, and there's hardly anything unexpected. (Dual-Core was to be expected), even the variety of games is mediocre. I guess now most people are hyped about it, even more after E3 but so far I can see no reason for it. I'd rather stick to a buy a good gaming pc than a silly console (cannot play SWR on XBOX).
  10. If GL gets the idea, the next changes to the ANH cantina will give the cantina a definite Disco 70s retro look and all the aliens and han will dance to 'Saturday Night Fever'?
  11. Nah, it would have been something more elaborate. Can you think of any other way to spend your time during a Yavin - Coruscant Hyperjourney without officers to choke? He probably wrote a speech, composed a musical and polished his helmet, picked up some flowers on Coruscant before going to the Palace, then put the romantic song mix in his body control panel (which we all know is a mp3-karaoke) and then sang to palpatine about his greatness and how cute his dimples are, and how attractive he looks in the light of blue lightning. Not too mention that killing Kenobi must have convinced Palpatine of two things: 1) Vader was getting stronger. Much stronger. He could become a danger to him. But in the mean time, Vader was what he needed to destroy the remnants of the Republic. 2) Kenobi had allowed himself to be killed. And that's something that must have kept Palpy busy for a few years.
  12. And cross the pond and visit the tropics?
  13. VEngeance is a perfectly sound english word, too. so no prob there.
  14. I think that Tarkin ranked higher than Vader, because Darth was Palpy's personal enforcer, his executor, with no real position within the Imperial Hierarchy. When it was something primarily related to Imeprial bureaucracy or dealing with Imperial commanders and admiral, it was probably best to let Tarkin handle it. After Tarkin's death, Vader forced himself near the top of the Imperial military structure. and thus the whole fleet at his availability in ESB and ROTJ.
  15. Big boots are reserved for scorpions, and (alacranes).
  16. Nah, I won't sign the petition. SS.com is just a site you can skip and completely ignore.
  17. I think most of us know he isn't real.
  18. I'd rather keep it as a mystery... Otherwise GL would suggest a rather lame story for it.
  19. Kirk and Co going boldly where no man has gone before: Coruscant?
  20. Ugh Black Widows... Hate them, I do, I remember seeing one of those on my bed when I was a kid. Damned be the tropics.
  21. Britannica.com says that it was introduced during Charle Magne's reign, it's derived from neumas, a musical symbol used in Gregorian Chants.
  22. The First two seasons are rather short, some are better than others. I like the ones on the snow planet (Padme, Yoda, Luminara) and some of the Kenobi ones. The new Season (Season III aka Clone Wars II) I found the first two pretty good, gives an excellent view of the Clone Wars and Kenobi's and Anakin's relationship, I couldn't care less for teh last three.
  23. Knowing Lucas it'll be himself making a cameo in the Golden Bikini.
  24. First off, I don't like midicholorians. They have no reason to exist in a mystical force field. They are stupid Second. Half the EU does not have a reason to exist, Palpatine Clones are stupid. I did like the slowly being consumed aspect of the Dark Side more. If you think of Kun and other Dark Lord, neither of them was as old as palpatine. We don't know for how long Palpy has been a Darksider but I'd say he'd been dark for a very long time, he's all rotten within, and it would definitely had to start showing on the outside. In Ep III we know that Palpy will have two showdowns, one with Mace and another with Yoda in the Senate. As he is already ugly when fighting yoda, we can assume he was scarred during the fight with Mace. Could it be that before that fight with Mace he had nevevr (ab)used the DArk Side in such manner, drawing so heavily on it, that it finally started to rapidly consume and rot his body as it had already done it soul? I'd be satisfied if in the movie is hinted that the scarring was due to the consumption of the Dark Side, and that it's not something as lame as: "Damn windu threwsome lightning back at me with his saber and now I need daily dosis of Botox. "
