  1. I think that by accurate he meant, that being decimal you can always reduce it. For instance saying that something measures 7 cm and 4 mm. On the opposite hand you cannot say 7 inches and 4 "milli-inches". As for the carpenters I guess that's something that won't change anywhere in the world. As all the nails, screws, etc are produced in Imperial measurements.
  2. It's only the guy to the north of Río Grande, they even use those abhorrent Fahrenheits to measure temperature. Latinamérica uses decimal system, round here the only guys taking about miles are US tourists.
  3. You guys and your "Imperial" entanglements. Long live the decimal system!
  4. I'm not a brit, but I did have probs with the confusing british money denominations while reading some books in the past. I found this rough summary: And for some other denominations there's this link: http://www.predecimal.com/predecimaldenominations.htm
  5. I use a combination of both to win entire sectors very fast. I found out after using the "gunship" diplomat strategy. At times I would forget that I had idle diplomats in a gunship, that I had sent into a neutral planet. After a chile the planet joined without any apparent reason, and I realized that if a ship of your side could make a neutral join the other side if support was rather low (which was in the manual), why couldn't it make one join you given enough support. So I send the able-bodied doplomat into the planet with the lowest support for me, then I send his gunship to the nearest neutral planet favoring me. And it also shortens the return trip should the planet my diplomat is on, turn to the opposing side. An excellent job with your Strategic Tips of the Week. I'll sticky them until the next one arrives, for all members to notice.
  6. Who is Pink Five?
  7. I agree with Thrawn. One would have been enough, b&r. I deleted the one in "Mods General Discussion".
  8. That will be the next round: Jawa's vs. Tribble vs. Maria Conchita Alonso's character's unborn baby.
  9. A scout trooper doing the 3K Posts victory lap?
  10. Rivers, Oreton considered, had been a decisive strategical element in ancient times. With one rival on one side and another on the opposite, bridges and other crossing point had become of pivotal importance during battle. Hovertanks and hovertransports now made bridges and crossing points useless. In modern warfare were no longer an obstacle, rather they were an annoyance. The base at River Emante had been edificated during the Clone Wars, the broad empty grassland had been the landing site for Acclamator Destroyers, the fortress had been the base of the Republic. An overly defensive General, a Jedi whose name was lost from history books, built a defensive fortress. Build atop a hill that slightly altered the river's path, the fortress rose over the grassland. The hills slop had been reinforced with heavy armament and shielding. The fortress seemed inpenetrable, strong enough to turtle inside for days and weeks. Something, Oreton decided, that probably would not fit General Solo's command style. So, when the angered voice of Han Solo came out of the sound console Oreton had to suppress a knowing smile. "General, I trust that my call is not inopportune." Not inopportune? Han grimaced, "Not at all. Just polishing some tactics. And how's everything whereever you are?" Oreton ignored the sarcastic remark. "I am sending a special trooper regiment down to River Base." "We are pretty far from the Imperial Bases, and after the Rapora cut through the jungle lands I did not expect you to have units in the neighboorhood. We can hold out on our own, I don't think we'll need reinforcements. This won't be the decisive battlefield." "One must be prepared for everything, Solo. Some of the Rapora movements have been intriguing." "The lost heavies, you mean?" Han asked, somewhat annoyed of his dialogue with an amateur Thrawn. Scouts had picked up that the heavier machinery had been left near the mountain area, only the ground troops were advancind. Solo suspected that the heavies would be air-dropped once in the battlefield. "No," Oreton answered to Solo's suprise. "The advance of the ground troops has not been steady, giving time to their parallel advances in the jungle lands, and the creatures attacks on communication stations in the open. But sometimes all three forces have slowed down purposefully. There is, General another unaccounted Rapora group." "There has been no notice of such an engagement," Solo snapped back. "There are some unpopulated areas, that neither the Empire nor the Galactic Alliance have been watching. But it is interesting to note that the fourth groups advance is very slow. Slower than the Firewalkers." "Something heavier?" "Or we have some unexpected allies," Oreton complemented. His tone more matching to a shrug than to certainty. "Where do yo expect them from coming?" Solo asked. "From the ocean?" Less than thousand kilometers to the East the River Emante flowed into the worlds largest ocean. It was one unexpected direction, and the Alliance had several scout posts and facilities near the shoreline and along the river." "Or from the North," Oreton said. "For certain the jungle troopers are coming from the south and might join the Rapora and Firewalkers that followed you through the Letnaman mountain range in the Southwest. Along the course of the river to the Northwest is rather secure GFFA territory. The deserted North is an unknown value." "When is your regiment going to arrive?" Han asked in a deadly-serious tone. Oreton was smart and had his own information assets, the fourth groups existence could not be disclosed. If the Imperials joined he could have some scouts and troopers watch for a possible arrival route and have some warning. "I just ordered him to depart, they will be taking the slow route. They might arrive just before the Rapora." "Thank you, Grand Admiral. If you excuse me, I have some duties to attend." Han said and closed off the transmission. He secured the comlink in his his belt and patted it lightly with his hand. Mentally he did something that he had never done before. He thanked the Empire.
  11. As I replied in another thread. There is another subsection of this forum devoted to Rebellion II, there you can find other users interested in creating the game. Here is the link: http://www.swrebellion.com/forum7.html Please do not duplicate this thread anymore, and take some time to familiarize yourself with the SWRebellion Forums. Topic Closed.
  12. Mad is in exam week, I think.
  13. I was expecting a Zoot attack on the A-Wing, the third one was simply unexpected...
  14. A machiavellistic member.
  15. There a subsection of the Forum, devoted to gathering ideas about Rebellion II and some Fan-projects that want to create the game. Feel free to check them out. Topic Closed
  16. Don't you happen to have some Twi'Lek girls that you want to send in my direction?
  17. The Vathkree communiqué had arrived, and an answer had already been given. Lieutenant at'Veg followed the Commodore through some of the laberynthine halls of the Star Destroyer. "I trust you have kept up with your defense training," Arien commented. "I have been training every now and then with Lieutenant Kor's regiment," at'Vek answered. Originally a stormtrooper upon leaving the Academy at Prefsbelt IV, the little adventure in the Unknown Regions had revealed the Intelligence of the Arkanian to be misplaced. A quick shift to the naval forces and a subsequent promotion had finally given him the cherished post among Widowmaker's and now Right to Rule's officers. "Fit to impersonate a stormtrooper?" Arien insisted. "Yes Commodore. Who will be the other escorts, if I may ask?" "Colonel Nerba and one of his men," Arien answered. "Commandos?" The Arkanian wondered. "I need more flexible minds than the ones from stormtroopers, we will face subterfuge not only from our rivals as from our hosts. Should the Rapora make a more tempting offer, the Vaathkree might decide to simplify the choice by eliminating one of the contenders. Plus, the sight of Imperial stormtroopers in diplomatic negotiations has given us a bad image." Arien commented from her own experience. Stormtroopers would not bring more worlds into the Empire. The days of Lord Vader were long gone. Fear could not be the main motivation for their allies, the Empire had to reveal a more humane side. "You will still were Stormtrooper armor, no helmet though." She entered her personal chamber. Under the doorway she turned at him. "Do not bring white armor, one of the specials. Cortosis grey might be a great choice." at'Veg nodded. *** The shuttle started it's descent towards the given coordinates. The Commodore in her regal dress uniform, seemed distraught. The two commandos rechecked their multiple weapons and their light armor. Visible and invisible comlinks, assorted equipment and a light helmet was all they carried. at'Veg reviewed some reports in a datapad. He could not do so on the planet, there he had to play his role as a stiff, obedient stormtrooper. A nonhuman stormtrooper, as his obviously Arkanian face revealed. Ahead of them the Palace of Vaathkree grew.
  18. Did some of the tests again. I am: 25% Jerk! You are a Mastermind! (Submissive Introverted Abstract Thinker) though on the submissive part I'm right in the middle. So I could also be just like N3C a DIAT... going to die on Monday, January 14th 2058 at the tender age of 72 years old. and I exhibit a Stress Factor of ((( 12% ))) —which barely registers. Get a job, hippie!
  19. No music at all? That's weird. Silvio Rodríguez - La Maza
  20. I remember being a Mastermind, I don't remember the details, but it said taht I wasn't the one to attract the attention, but the one who planned everything.
  21. As the Ai will try to build always the newer ships instead of the starting ship it would most likely build a DS. (If you give it a too high research value, you risk that at an advanced stage of teh game the aI doesn't have the resources. So lower them quite a bit).
  22. U2 - Trash, trampoline and the party girl
  23. Use a hotmail address, or a fake address, last time I did the tests they did not send me any spam, though.
  24. I had never thought of that, setting it at a higher research level.
  25. Yep that is. His aggressive publicity for his projects make them very memorable.
