Exactly. Darksaber has so little to do with the overall In-Universe Story as my dinner for tonight has to do with the development of Earth's politics. If you took out all that Luke searching for his mother part and Lando and Co running after that nonsense Vagabond ship it might have been better. But books with Non-Imperial villians (except NJO's Vong) don't have the same thrill as the books with Imperial villians do. We have to admit that Daala and her antics are better than all the Corellian Madness or the Reptilian Ssi-Ruuk or Hethrir...

When I play as a Rebel, I have found out about the great Chewbacca who can get anywhere in Imperial Space and fulfill his mission. When an Imp I try to capture him as fast as possible (It's always easier to abduct than to kill).

Rapora Wars: The Yaathkree Afair (Subplot RPG)
Trejiuvanat replied to Stellar_Magic's topic in Role Playing - 1
OOC: Let's see what we can do to keep this one alive. IC: "I do not understand why you keep repeating that," Threepio snapped back at Artoo. "What is so bad about a volcanic planet? They are energy-efficient, and the Vaakthree are not bad people either, and Master Luke already knew of the," he lowered the volume of his voice "Rapora and the Aklasp were here." Artoo's answer came back in a staccato as he moved ahead in the curved corridor. "What do you mean by past tragedies on volcanic planets? The heat is probably frying your circuits, you walking trashcontainer." The little astromech stopped in the middle of the corridor as he recognized a human ahead. His dome swiveled back to Threepio and reported a happy chirp and rolled ahead. "You know her?" The human lady dressed in he standard Imperial uniform smiled as she recognized the little astromech droid. "Hello small one," she said. "I guess the Skywalkers finally found out about Vaathkree." The droid beeped an affirmative and Threepio caught up with her. "Well hello, I am C-3P0, human - cyborg relations and this, who you already know is Artoo-Det-" "Arien Yage," she said interrupting him. "Can you take me to Luke and Mara?" "They have just landed and probably are in their personal quarters. I guessed that at this late hour everyone was sleeping, and thus they weren't introduced to the other diplomatic parties." Arien nodded mutely. It was indeed rather late, the sun had set about six hours ago and most of the activity in the Palace was greatly reduced. In the past few days Arien had grown accustomed to these nightwalks, during which she would consider the day's events, and discuss them with at'Veg. As the Arkanian moved closer to the woman, Threepio's photoreceptors focused on him. "Oh, an Arkanian," the droid noted to himself. "What a wonderful opportunity for my protocol skills." "Ateles'nev gutaraks," Threepio said in fluent perfectly toned Arkanian. The stormtroopers smiled at the droid and answered the protocolary response. Arien noted, a slight change in her officer. And she knew what the Arkanian was thinking. In the shadow of his revelations about the remarkable similarities between the Old Arkanian and Rapora language, having a protocol droid would help him advance that front of research. "Well it is very late, even for us," Arien said. "Though I would advise you too to return to the Skywalker's quarters or to your ship." "That was what I was telling the droid, madame," Threepio sounded tired. "But he insisted in having a look around. Come Artoo I hope this meeting satisifed your curiosity." "Threepio," Arien said extending her hand to stop Threepio. "Tell Master Skywalker to meet me at the northern balcony of the Diplomat's Wing when the sun rises." "Well of course, good night." The droid answered and left with his short companion. "Meeting the Jedi?" at'Veg asked. "The Skywalker's late night arrival definitely prevented us from a proper diplomatic introductions and our hosts definitely wanted their presence here not to be noticed until tomorrow. I want to meet him before any diplomatic meeting begins, and fill him in the situation and learn why or how the knew of this place and of Durron's involvement." -
OOC: I haven't forgotten, sometimes scrolling down to the bottom of the forums is too much of an effort for an already troubled mind. IC: Nailu frowned. There was a Jedi in the cave. Two actually, he corrected himself, but one of them is only a braid. Their control of the Force so meek, so pathetic. That, had forced a choice in him, to order the droids away. Droids could only handle clones, against Jedi there were as frail as a flower against a Dreadnaught. So his droids were now entering the caves, aided by the opportune opening that Krummel had facilitated. All of them coming where the Clones would fight them, leaving plenty of space for a dark warrior to open himself a path into the center of the improvised Clone camp and seek out the Jedi. And kill it.

As a ship card or as a troop card? IIRC there were some Troop World Devs around in the database.

I had to reread some parts of it lately. (Reloaded business) It was as bas as I remember, once I had acomplished what I was looking for I rapidly put it back where it belonged. Next to other Shamed Ones such as Children of the Jedi, Crystal Star, Black Fleet Crisis and Truce at Bakura. I'd add Allston to the list. And Jim Luceno who is even more random than Stackpole. Though Zahn's books have declined, in his attempt to create a sub saga to Star Wars with his own characters, he kinda loses himself among them.

A good explanation for Lemelisk's weird behaviour... I too retire him once he's done with research, and even when he's a Jedi the stats aren't that great either. Even at Knight or Master his stats aren't that high in comparison to another average char, and spend 400 or 500 of Vader's days to train him just doesn't make sense. 6 Jedi per side? I had never known that they were a fixed number...

If both players have the same settings there should be no problem.

So be it...

In any case I think the subtitle for Episode VII will be something like: The Search for More Money, followed by Episode VIII The Search for EVEN More Money and closing the saga: Episode IX: The search for more ludicrious amounts of money.

He will eventually die, and his sons and/or the Director's board at LFL will do something.

There have been some over the years... All were deemed as non-conclusive, eventually. There's also an excellent cross-universe StarWars-StarTrek fan fic by Stellar_Magic.

I think it was all a matter of interest. Palpy couldn't do all the dirty work by himself, so he needed Vader for that. Palpy doesn't trust him, and knows that Vader has thoughts of his own, so Palpy must find an apprentice he can twist, and have Vader replaced with. (I guess something like that happened to Dooku) Vader cannot take Palpy alone. Especially since he is more machine than a man, and a few of those lightning stuff would fry his breating machine. So he need a healthy young person he can twist and turn against Palpy. Much the same should happen to any generic Sith pairing. The Master will use the apprentice, until the apprentice tries to take his master's place. Then either the apprentice succeeds and the master dies, or the master lives and a new apprentice is required. For the apprentice he will look for an aprrentice of his own, once he thinks he has learnt enough of the master and then both turn against him.

Somehow I fail to be interested by this game.

Soothsayer (Zootsayer?): 'Beware the Ides of March' Caesar: He is a dreamer, let us leave him. (Shakespeare: Julius Caesar) St Patricks Day? What's so special about it, other than being a Irish holiday?

Two there will always be, a Master and an apprentice. (I leave it up to you if I'm referring to the Sith, or to the BEAK)

Your machiavellic plan to confuse people seems to be working...

The Sith became bad because they could not match the Jedi in terms of Code-making (TheSith one sucks), therefore they decided to master the Force instead and kick the Jedi's ass over the milennia. (Something they eventually sucked at and where destroyed) The Sith Code is now used in schools all over the galaxy to teach children how not to write codes for your own affiliation...

Pssst. Don't tell anybody, but the Costa Rican government has begun to use ysalamacaw's to block tourists from using the Force and stripping them from their money in most efficient ways. (The excessive research has put most of our macaws in the endangered animals lists (along with honest politicians and smart teachers)) Thus we are running out of blue and green macaw, and all that's left are red macaws in the deep rainforest. (Golden frogs, and strawberry pink frogs are also endangered as well). Animals without bright shiny colors are thriving everywhere.

Vinyl has a much better audio quality than CDs, I wouldn't think the same of vacuum tube equipment. DMB - Everyday.

Stellar has a very valid point, the Jedi is the one who allows himself to be guided by the Force. He can exert slight control over it, but it's still the Force that guides them. (Faith as a very important part of Jedi mythology). A Sith is quite the opposite, the Force is for him to use. For him to master and twist for his own purposes. I'm not sure Champion would be a proper term, but it fits them (technically) better than it fits the Jedi. Stellar, where's that Sith Code you spoke about? You happen to have some excerpt? Where can I find it? (Or is the Sith Code imbedded in all of Lucas's contracts and Terms of Services? )
