My teacher in government is, as I've said, quite annoying. She tells us about how she's a political scientist who doesn't take sides every day before she proceeds to bash the hell out of Bush. I asked her a question after class one day, saying, "How would a non-Christian President be sworn in?" Her responce? "The people would never elect an atheist." ... Yes, because that was the context of my question- Hindus are clearly atheists. Same thing with Jains... At any rate, I still wonder about that. If you stand by what she did, essentially say, which was that the American people would not be likely to elect a President from a non-Abrahamic religion, then how do you swear a person from a non-Abrahamic religion into a court house? I'm just wondering, not dissing on anyone.
