You didn't enjoy the Matrix? Granted, the second sucked, and the third should never have been made, but the first one was an incredible movie.

I agree with America coming out of its "prudish shell", as you stated. And I did feel kinda silly going into my rant, knowing that that is somewhat more "normal" in Europe. But as you said about male and female anatomy, I guess I forgot to mention. With all the flopping that was going around, I forgot to mention that Harold and Kumar also had full frontal female nudity, which was also a shock to me. All in all, this year has shown an increase in full frontal nudity, which has so far been quite restricted here. I suppose we're just going along with the times. Personally, I dont mind it, but its just so different from what we are used to here.

So we saw Harold and Kumar yesterday. It was as good as anticipated, if not better. Definitely lived up to the first one, and is worthy of being called a sequel. However, this movie did something that other previous releases have been doing the past year. What Im referring to is...well...the blatant, gratuitous showing of...male genitalia, for lack of a better word to use on these forums. I dont know what America's sudden infatuation with it is, but, as far as I can recall, it started with Borat. After Borat, there was a lull, at least as far as I know. But I have seen three movies this year in the theaters that used this for shock value/cheap laughs. The first was Dewey Cox, which was just insane. Then just recently, both Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Harold and Kumar used it as a comedy device also. It appears to me that the U.S. media is getting more...perverse recently. A lot of things are being said that wouldn't have been said on television two years ago. And now this full-frontal male nudity is parading around in theaters. Now dont get me wrong...I have no problem with the language and what not. But its just weird to being seeing things that I would never have thought to see in a movie. Its becoming common place. I mean, its not that it bothers me, because Im sure I react as the film crew wanted me to by saying "what the @#$%" and laughing, but its still such a new and odd concept to me. I can only imagine that within the next few years, rated-R movies will be indistinguishable from a porno...

I get a similar impression, especially in RotJ. His entire court gives that impression, with him on the dais and whatnot.

My question is this: what do Tusken Raiders look like under their masks? Are they alien beings, or just mutant humans who were disfigured in a nuclear accident and sent to live as outcasts in the punishing deserts?

I agree that its been pretty slow around here these days. Must be the warm weather...

I'll be the poor bastard going Sunday. On the other hand, we saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It was a very good, very funny movie. Laughed the entire way through. If you like the other work they did (40-Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up) this movie is a must-see.

And as of right now, the Rangers are leading the best of seven playoff series 3-1 against the Devils. So far its been one heck of a series! Edit: Well, its done and done. The Rangers have officially advanced to the next round of the playoffs!

I never watched it, but I know that my mom enjoys the show.
