Yah. The NHL season lasts from about October (pre-season) to June (Stanley Cup- the finals). Then the free agents are available for negotiating with new teams in July and such. Its interesting from an international perspective because the NHL (US and Canadian teams) are currently having problems with European players and their teams. When the NHL drafts a player from Europe, European teams (particularly Russia right now) argue that they are not properly compensated. For example, the New York Rangers snagged a player from Russia in last years rookie draft, but he has yet to come over because the Russian team is not allowing it, arguing that they were not fairly paid for his departure. Apparently, other European teams are beginning to agree with Russia, and look down on the NHL. So right now is an intense time for the NHL, when teams go about a huge restructuring. For example, the Rangers decided to not re-sign their captain, and have let go a few other players while picking up so new ones, who are very good players. So Im excited for next season. Also, the EA series is the one I swear by. I was not pleased with the 2K NHL series. The controls are very strange and different.

Yeah, unless there is some life living way under Mars' surface, I think we would have seen something by now. But I totally think theres other life out there. I just think its totally ridiculous for us to think that our planet has the only life in existence.

I love hack-and-slash dungeon crawlers! I played the heck out of Champions of Norrath: Return to Arms. I am currently infatuated with Baldurs Gate II: Dark Alliance. Ive completed the game with two characters, and am currently going through with a third. Seeing Diablo III makes me really wish I had a computer worthy of gaming...

Today marks the frenzy of the NHL's free agent day! All the players who are not under contract are now open to all negotiations. Im dying to see how the New York Rangers do; who they let walk away and who they take in.

I cant believe I forgot about the the "command" situation. Speaking of assassinations, I still think it would have been cool to be able to execute prisoners if you were playing as the Empire. It would be a long mission, and when you selected it the Rebels would be notified, so they have time to attempt a rescue. For example, if you had, say, Dodonna captured on Coruscant, and you wanted to execute him, it would be like maybe a long mission (longer duration than Jedi Training). This would simulate the Empire putting on a public show to make an example of the Rebel. Maybe they would hold a mock trial, or just let him rot in a cell for awhile before executing him. Thus, the Rebels would obviously catch wind of the plan, and could attempt a rescue mission. Of course, it could also be useful as a trap, by using Dodonna as bait for more Rebel scum...

If a traitor is detected, its possible that he will inform the opposing side of your systems stats, such as what facilities or personnel are there. I dont know if its such a big deal in a single player game, though I suppose it could lead the AI to abducting a character or something of that nature. I imagine it being more a problem in a 2-player game. I'll need confirmation, but I think there is a possibility that a traitor will also be far more likely to fail a mission, as if he is doing it on purpose. Though I could be wrong about that. As far as dealing with it, you can dismiss the character by right-clicking on him and selecting the option for it. This will remove the character entirely from the game, so you dont have to worry about him leaking information. So the choice is yours if you want him around or not.

I was working today, and just before I got off a table of 10 came in, just to watch the Euro Cup. So they were there for quite some time, and I got to see a bit of the action. So congrats to Spain for their victory, which pleased my guests and resulted in an awesome tip!

Here is a horrible report regarding the Wii, as seen in this news report. Apparently, a child in the UK was told he could not play his Wii because his sister was already watching TV, so he went upstairs and hung himself with his school uniform tie. They say it was an accident, and not a suicide, but it is still a terrible event. Whats really horrible and tragic is that the parents are most probably living with this huge guilt and blaming themselves, since their refusal to let their son play his games led to the accident. It is totally not their fault, and my sympathy goes out to them as they try and get through this horrible time.

One of the reasons I want a PS3. That, and the eventual God of War III.

RIP George Carlin He was a great and funny actor. I will miss him as much as I miss Rodney Dangerfield and Chris Farley.

My friend has the Orange Box. I would definitely had snagged it a long time ago, if only I had a decent PC, PS3, or X-Box 360... But the quantity and quality of games that come with it is far worth the price. Team Fortress 2 is probably worth the $40 on its own.

My nation ended up being an exporter of beets and we forced all the homeless into the military, and if they were too far gone to work there, we killed them off. Sounds horrible, I know. But I was young and idealistic back then. Anywho, have fun, and good luck taking over.

Guns, Germs, and Steel is a really great documentary, that really covers the book well, which I am still working my way through.

I agree with you on Dark Knight. Despite the fact that I read only Marvel comics growing up, I am anticipating Dark Knight more than Iron Man and Hulk put together.

We went to see Get Smart tonight. Ive been looking forward to the movie forever. My sister and I used to watch the show growing up; it must have been the re-runs on TV Land or Nick at Night or something like that. Anywho, the movie was hilarious. Steve Carrell has been golden in every movie he's been in, and the same goes for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Both men are stupendous comedic actors, and they made the movie very enjoyable. I highly recommend everyone seeing it. Also, I saw You Dont Mess With the Zohan at some point last week. It was also pretty funny, but wasn't as funny as Get Smart. But it was still a decent Adam Sandler movie.

Yeah, its funny to call the Wii "next-gen" because its graphics cannot even compare to the 360 or PS3. Its the control scheme that makes it next-gen, I suppose. And, if they are smart, the game should recognize your swinging of the controller and match it to your character on-screen. That will be fun, so long as they do a good job of it.

This is the link to the new game titled Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Its a Wii and DS-exclusive game that appears to be based around lightsaber combat and the new animated series coming out. Seems interesting.

I just made my decision. I, hereby state, that from now on, officially I too believe in the Sasquatch, and will support Rob in the future. I will, also join with Darth_Rob and support him with the Sasquatch hunting. Excellent. It is very likely that he is out there, and Im sure his ancestors are spread out across the globe! If we all keep a sharp eye out, Im sure we will find proof someday that will bring shame to all the skeptics.

Actually, the study of Sasquatch falls under crytpozoology...

I had as subject: - Law - Economy - Italian - Russia (history) - Biology - Maths All I can say is that I cannot picture taking a math or science oral exam. I can see the language and law, maybe the economy and history, but biology and math??? I dont think Id do very good at that...I am terrible at math and science.

What were the oral exams for? Foreign language? Or do you have to do other subjects with an oral exam as well?

I agree. The first National Treasure was definitely better than the second. I also dont understand why he had to kidnap the President. I mean, hes a national hero and famous for his actions in the first movie. I dont think he needed to kidnap him to have a conversation with him.

Im interested to see where this goes, with Luke being captured by the Empire this early on. Sounds like its going to be rough on the Rebels now. Can the Death Star be destroyed without the help of the Force?
