  1. I believe you just right click on the nav points to tell the ships to move to them. (Could be wrong.. haven't played the tactical side in a while)
  2. You changed your settings.. so you'll need to figure out what you changed. Rebellion may only allow certain numbers... for example, maybe something can't be 0? You'd really have to play around with it, one by one, to determine the exact cause.
  3. Looks like its still available for XP as Microsoft Plus! SuperPack for Windows XP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Plus%21_for_Windows
  4. Anyone disappointed that the Azzameen storyline isn't resolved. After playing through it once, there really is no replay value expect to get the bonuses. While entertaining, I don't feel the need to replay it .. esp with some of the odd mission scripting bugs.
  5. I will find time and try and resolve this issue. I didn't know there were active card makers anymore Many people have tried an NJO TC. But I haven't seen one finished.. I expect it is the lack of source images. Unless you can create some of this from scratch, it would be really hard to do.
  6. Here's how to get started with the single player missions http://wiki.hw2.info/TutorialCampaign If you have specific questions, then feel free to post them
  7. I've seen estimates for 2-3 years.. according to the International Institute for Strategic Studies http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070131/wl_afp/britainirannuclearpoliticsdiplomacy_070131165156
  8. I've read some of Harry Turtledove, good stuff. Also I recommend Ender's Game series... some politics in forming a triumvirate to conquer the buggers. And when they are no longer a threat, the nations fight each other until they are united by the Hegemon.
  9. I think so too. Done
  10. Your video card is old. That is what is causing the effects to slow down the game.
  11. Many European countries handle waste just fine. If the French have no qualms of processing nuclear waste, why should we not do it? We do more damage extracting and processing oil, coal, and other fossil fuels. Chances are that you'll get more radiation exposure from the sun than you ever will from a nuclear power plant.
  12. We are doing lots of research on alternative energy, alternative fuels, fuel consumption, etc. Just look at the whole movement for ethanol (which isn't particularly Earth-friendly when you consider the energy it actually requires to create it), electric-fuel hybrids, etc. However, by-and-large, our economy runs on cars and oil. You don't change society in a day, unless you tell them what to drive, how to do spent their money, what to do with their consumption. Further, we progress by using such technology to innovate and come up with better and better solutions. You don't make limits on progress that you cannot handle - I read something recently that implied none of the European countries are actually on-target for the restrictions of the Kyoto Treaty. I read also that 20% of methane added to the air is produced by cows. Do we tell farmers that they can only raise X number of cows? And consumers of steak that they can only have X limit of steaks? You say we need to move off coal, oil, etc now - but how do we do that? Do you tell people they can't use cars? That they can't run their heaters? One solution I believe is nuclear power. It is clean, efficient, and less waste than others. But environmentals are too fearful of nuclear reactions.. but nuclear power has one the safest track records. If we actually started building more nuclear reactors in the US, we can get off of coal and other power sources within a decade. We can protect our environment without going through some "doom and gloom" scenario that is unproven. We can let scientists and engineers come up solutions, not use environmentalism as a political platform to stop such progress. Global warming has just become a poster child for people to blame humanity for all the world's problems. The Earth has survived higher temperatures, even through a number of global cataclysm. We don't have the long range knowledge and research to say this isn't another cycle, whether this is truly human-created warming, and to what effects this may have. Some scientists even disagree with global warming - saying that increase in "greenhouse gases" will cause a global cooling. Science can be all hype and no validity (like eugenics .. we had scientists and politicians and the world believing in it). We need to take the long term approach and do the research, work on the innovations, and not get stuck in this mentality that all we have to do is enact government regulations to simply solve the problem.
  13. If the UK were seriously underwater in 50 years, don't you think people would be advertising UK land as "beachside resorts" ? Sounds like State of Fear to me
  14. The UN needs to be disbanded; recreated with just the countries who are democracies and put freedom and liberty first. Why do we give voice to dictatorships - those countries who say one thing but act against the ideals of the UN. We put countries in spots like "human rights" that are no friends of human rights - creating a place for a platform against only one country: Israel (an actual democractic country). We have situations like in Kosovo that the UN dealt with, after everything was done. We look at what led to US action in Iraq... it was part of UN's inability to enforce its own resolutions after 12 years. Further the International Criminal Court claims jurisdiction to try any person, in any country - whether or not they agree to it. The UN is in a sad shape - I think FDR and Churchill would be appalled at what it has (and has not) done over this 50+ years.
  15. This was posted in another forum.. but since I don't have the answer, I figured someone here may
  16. The poor don't get shafted by this plan. In fact, essential goods and services are not taxed per a rebate that each resident receives. http://www.fairtax.org/fairtax/faqanswers.htm#3 Also the rich spend much more money.. and not just on luxury goods.
  17. Trying to beat it without cheats. I've gotten to the last trench run.. man, restarted so many times. That one is tough, esp when you get stuck in a seemingly random part and die.
  18. If you're into the artsy stuff, there's a bunch of art museums like the Kimmel Museum in Dallas/Fort Worth. I know, I've been there with a friend - kinda boring to me, but he loved it.
  19. The framers had a disagreement about slavery. They basically said that they would table the issue, look into it 10 years... once they got their government together and working. Sadly, in 10 years a decision never happened... and without resolution, would ultimately lead to the American Civil War.
  20. Indeed a SSD is 4x4? It looks to me that in one of the images, the starfighters are inside that. Or perhaps I'm just seeing things. Squares do make the calculations much easier. Even the Viscount is 3x3?
  21. I glanced at the Starship Battles rules before. Now that I look more at it, it could be good for basis to implement online. I do have one question looking over the online rulebook, since I don't have any of the miniatures myself. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=starwars/article/SBrulebook The targetting and faces images seems to indicate that the ships have different grid sizes. Is there a listing as to what these sizes are? Or is it standard based on class? A starfighter is 1x1 A capital ship is 2x2 SSD looks to be 2x4 I guess I have to consider how the bigger ships turn, esp the ones that are not square (SSD, etc) Going to work on some concepts, see how well this works out
  22. If you're not a liberal... In all seriousness, she has wanted the presidency from the start. Her ambition is there. Despite her attempts to take a more "moderate" stance, she is the liberal-left's top choice. I think she'll get more votes because she's a liberal - she's a woman - and she's not George Bush - rather than votes for her due to her own values and views. She is surprisingly discrete about her own views.
  23. Yea its something to do with the CSS code for the menu, it dosen't expand in the table column.
  24. All the .NET languages are compiled into the same intermediate code, before being translated in the instructions for the CPU. It's much like Java in that respect.
  25. You are so wrong, you should have invited him here a long time ago We're a friendly bunch!
