  1. I know there was at least one attempt, don't know if it got finished. It is quite hard, mostly because there aren't enough images to do a number of different characters, ships, etc.
  2. 3 Movies... not books. Yes there were 3 screenplays to make the movies, one for each. But those took time and were specifically developed as movies. To get all the plot and background to make them into a coherent novel plot, it would have certainly taken more than 3 books.
  3. I'm a stalwart defender of the NJO series. The storyline, as a whole, was done very well - great parts that kept you going through all 19 novels. Though there were some weaker authors, the editing was decent and consistant with my view of Star Wars. I would say it really hits a high point with the hardbacks Star by Star and Destiny's Way. The Vong may not be the most original enemies.. but they are certainly a twist from the Jedi vs Sith eras. The Jedi still play a dominant role, just as they have in every galactic conflict. More than a few characters die, albeit only 2 real main characters. (And don't blame Salvatore guys! He was given a good death in writing... the decision was an editorial board one) I'm actually seeing how this now sets things up for the future. I read the Dark Nest trilogy, and just got the books to start with the Legacy of the Force era. Favorite Books: Star by Star, Destiny's Way, Traitor Least Favorite: Balance Point Favorite Characters: Jaina Solo, Tahiri EDIT: I'm thinking we need an NJO Fan userbar now hehe
  4. 1) You just have to let them rest, there's nothing you can do 2) Not sure why infilitrators aren't working 3) Force characters can be trained by a master to increase their force ranking You need someone who can research facilities, as well as someone who can research troops. There is one character for each side that can research them all, but not all in one mission. I'm not sure what you mean by train troops. You generally build them through the troop facility.
  5. Revolution. We've never heard from him again. Good luck trying to find him
  6. Did I mention we had a glitch in September.. thus the threads that seem to stop at April. SOCL has been our active moderator. He's the one to talk to if any arguments, posts closed, etc.
  7. I really haven't develed into .NET myself. From what I read, VB.NET is a significant shift from VB6. However, it does work well with other .NET languages like C#. The new technology (at least for Windows) is certainly focused on the .NET platform. That is where I would go. You could use VC++ for higher performance, but it would be longer to write and implement.
  8. You can develop on DirectX for free. You just need the IDE like Visual Studio It just takes a lot of time to develop, a lot of organization involved. We would support you here, but we need someone dedicated to lay the ground work. A lot of people can help fill in the content, if that's something you need developed. Images, models, etc.
  9. I think we do need to see some conceptual work done first. Esp in the way of the interface, something that would be easy for people to use and eventually to implement in any language. Esp since we would have more screen space now instead of 640x480 - probably a windowed mode of 800x600 or 1024x768
  10. I don't know... I can see that it may take away from some pressure, esp with the fashion divas out there. But it also gives the message that you need to conform to public thought, that students have no rights to self expression. The government should not be policing personal freedom that does not infringe on other people. Generally I would say no to gang symbols.. but taking away every logo, esp in today's society of shameless advertising, would be very extreme.

    Scenarios

Few scenarios from X-Wing novels and games would be easy to implement in Warlords without changes due to - Good guys win effect - Starfighters pilots are God effect - Gameplay crutches such as destroying shield generators - Very few number of ships, as perspective from the starfighter Some of the smaller ones would be good for a fleet tactical game.. ala Nexus. But there are few resources that show the strategic side of battles, If there were ever a "Tom Clancy" writer for SW, then perhaps we would get more scenarios to flesh out. I doubt that would ever happen though.
  12. Chatroom: http://www.swrebellion.com/modules.php?name=Chat We will get more Star Wars topics if you guys posted them. Esp considering there still is - Star Wars TV show - Star Wars animated TV show - More novels and comics in the Star Wars Legacy era - More SW roleplaying books and SW Miniatures - More rumors of SW games and sequels (KOTOR 3 maybe?) .. there is still tons if you want to discuss them
  13. It's a decent way to do it. Basically it puts in a graphical form the way you would do multiplication. Multiply each digit by digit and add terms.
  14. We could take the Star Trek route and have all the actors look at a blue screen... wait.. they did that anyway..
  15. It's sorta like reading... kids like to read until they are forced to read. Kids like to learn until they are forced to learn. Really I don't remember anything from high school besides the math and physics. Nothing against those history and english, and other liberal arts majors, but I really didn't see the point. I don't know if that letter is real. But YTMND makes the point quite well!
  16. College degree has become the norm now, at least undergrad.. to unlock the job market. College degree is the new "high school diploma". High school diploma must be the new "middle school diploma"... Anyway, it really is a problem teaching to the lowest common denominator. Not that many teachers really do teach. Like Aenivae said, it is just work with no real point. And those that really want to improve and learn have to just waste their time doing it, or attempt to get out as fast as possible. To prove my point about math: http://photos-563.ak.facebook.com/ip002/v55/241/64/122505467/n122505467_30566563_5013.jpg Whoever that teacher was... is pathetic
  17. Sweet!
  18. Monty Python is great. I recommend Animusic as well. I haven't seen anything since Animusic 1, but Pipe Dream is still my favorite
  19. That is awesome! Now we need something in SWR.COM aqua and blue
  20. Unfortunately today's schools tend to focus more on social promotion than actually trying to teach reading and writing and 'rithmetic (sic). It's surprising how many "high school graduates" cannot be called literate. And don't be surprised that math skills too are down the tubes.

    Scenarios

Mmm convert all that mass into energy and... I think if we ever have a Battle of Endor mission, we will need to disable kamikaze attacks (esp maybe for that one fighter into the bridge hehe) Kamikaze everything just seems to be cheap
  22. I use CDex myself, but I've heard good things about Audacity
  23. Yep, post removed. Topic locked.
  24. Didn't all Star Destroyers have a battle bridge though within the ship? I think it was hubris more than anything else, the naval captain had to see with his own eyes what was going on around him.
  25. Evaders99

    Scenarios

Unless you had some lame scripted objectives to do a "crash into the bridge" attack haha
