All the hardbacks will come to mass market paperback.. eventually. Considering I would have to wait another 6 months to get the first one, Betrayal, and I had time this break.. I went ahead and bought the first hardcover and next two paperbacks. There will be another paperback before a hardback in the middle, then 3 paperbacks, then the finale hardback. So far, the series seems very political, since they are really fighting themselves. It seems hard to feel for any one side except: knowing the Jacen is being manipulated and Alema Rar is back against them. Like NJO, I will have to reread these books before I make a critique of the series. There's a lot to like, a lot to hate. Jacen is certainly the protagonist of this story, Jaina is just swept aside. While the writing styles are different, it seems much more akin to the Corellian trilogy or the Black Fleet Crisis. It isn't so much the battles and raw conflicts like in NJO, but more politics and talking. On some parts, I feel it is a critique (or at least strong mirror) to today's "War on Terror" Well that's my current opinion, having read once through Betrayal, Bloodlines, and Tempest.
