  1. Hmm, weird - I tried the links and they work for me . . . oh well, here are the URLs for the ones that you said didn't work: http://www.flyweb.at/scripts/gallery/photos/fun_pics/catballs.jpg http://ozanlarlisesi.sitemynet.com/mynet_resimlerim/0262.jpg http://www.squizzle.com/pictures/strongcat.jpg
  2. Argh !!! I'd love to read this Antilliles, though I still havn't read UF, so I don't want any spoilers about the Vong (Damn Broders, the say the books "unavailable" !). Though, guessing from the rest of your work, I'd say it would be a great read - so I'll book mark this page, and once I read UF, I'll get to read this
  3. First things first: Pitty the DS doesn't fire, sorry about double posting - I'm having modem troubles at the moment, the Picketship tactic works though very badly now , and finally yeah it's about stories ~ so back on track we go . . . Now that's it's Friday, and with most of my works done, I decided to finish that little game I started and mensioned earlier. The first opponent was extremely easy, and with only two DSDs I ripped apart there base only to find that I was being helped by the AI that backed onto this enemy. With the first base left in tatters, I fell back and left my would be ally to mop up - giving me time to let my 3rd DSD move out of dry dock. Though it wouldn't be that simple - my "ally" had a Vengence SSD, and it began following my fleet back home. In the end, I was forced to reload the game after my 3 DSDs and my small fleet took out two Allegences, a Tyrant and gave the SSD something to think about (50% damage!). Though, my fleet and base were destroyed. Second time round, instead of just pulling my force back, I jumped out which cancelled any target lock the enemy had - freeing me from the defeat that otherwise was impending. The game only became more difficult after that. The third AI, an Alliance team, had launched a raid against the Imperial resource collectors and my resource collectors. I was forced to move my mining units away to the saftey of my fleet, which ended bankrupting me. Like the Imperials, I quickly swept away the raiding force, though now a Tyrant had broken away from the Imperial fleet to hunt down the retreating forces. These same Alliance units joined up with another attack group heading towards my base - stopping me from sending out my resource collectors. Eventually the Tyrant began attacking the Alliance units before they made it across to my base, though it was now literally next to my resource field - so slowly I waited, for every 10 minutes I got 1000 RU. I didn't have to wait to long, a small detachment of Alliance ships attacked the impossing Tyrant that lurced to near their resources. 4 Assault Frigates and 2 Bulk cruisers were the only attackers, and to my surprise - won ! The remaining units, however, were quickly dispatched by the two Allegences that filled the Tyrant's wake - this is where my fleet steps in. My, now, 4 DSDs and fleet unleashed several quick vollies destroying the first ships and quickly routed the second. This allowed me to at least start collecting resources again. It was only now that I realisd that everytime I battled an Imperial unit, the SSD drew closer. It was only short time later that my resources were all but depleted. I was given two choices: 1) attack the Imperial base head on and try to get some resources or 2) attack the Alliance base (which had 2 Mediators and a Bulwark, that was away from the base) and gain access to over 3 quarters of the resources which were currently under their control. Before I could even attempt to make up my mind or think of a third option - like sneaking past the enemy to a new resource point - a bug in the game forced my hand. Some how, even though well out of range, a Gollan III at the Alliance base was attacking my fleet with torpedos! I lost 5 ships and had a DSD badly damaged before I knew what was going on . I quickly attacked on the fact that the main Alliance forces were above the base, and out of range. With my now 6 DSDs and a larger fleet engaged the poorly defended Alliance base, destroying it without a single lose. I now moved my fleet to strike out at the cruiser poised above my units. The battle was surprisingly quick with the only real resistance being the Mediators abilit to soak up damage. With the resource field mine I sat back an let the money flow, repaired all units and docked my fighter with warships. With only minor skirmishes with frigates, my attack force was ready with half an hour. 10 DSDs, 3 Mediators, 12 Picket ships (I tried them by themselves and they damaged the SSD about an 8th before all were destroyed, then i reloaded ), 4 Strike cruisers, 12 Heavy Gunships, 4 Heavy Corvettes, 8 Light Frigates, 12 E-Wing squadrons and 2 XJ X-Wing squadrons. Rather than a brute force attack, I wanted to maximise damage and minimise lose. I sent the Mediators first, attacking the SSD head on. They were shortly re-enforced by 4 DSDs that dropped out behind the Mediators as well as a small fleet of 6 DSD and some support dropping behind the SSD. By the time the first wave of energy blasts hit my Mediators the rest of my support ships dropped out to the SSDs right and to its left my fighters. Well, even with the extremely low frame rate - the battle was short. Once the swarm of torpedos launched by my fighters hit the SSD, it was already bellow half health. I then sent of the fighters and a quarter of the support ships to attack a dreadnaught hidden in the SSDs wake, 3 of my DSDs attacking the ship's rear also broke off to attack a Gollan III. At the same time, both the Dreadnaught and SSD were destroyed in a brilliant flash, leaving only the enemy base bellow to engage. With my loses being made up of a Corellian light frigate and 3 fighters (not squadrons), I seized the moment and dropped ontop of the Imperil base. The fight was quick, though brutal. The Gollan forced me to jump a DSD out before it was destroyed (I prefer to keep my units alive even in the final battle - it's a Republic thing ) and the remaining fighters gave my large and small vessels trouble. Nevertheless, once launching the attack agaisnt the SSD, it took around 10 minutes to detroy all the enemy units and mop up. Ah, that was a good battle
  4. Ahh, the infamous Zoot - I've only heard the rumours, though I never thought hI'd see the real thing in my life time!!! I've been tracking his movements over the past few months that I've been here. Here are some of the images I've found: teasing the enemy? assassin the training camp the ultimate soldier project another suped soldier project Zoot Commando attack Zoot trains
  5. I like the Harrow already in the game, even if there are a couple of mesh problems. Though your Corellian warship looks great! Did you design it yourself? Or did you find some other pics?
  6. Here's a quote I just got from my bother: "Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we," Mr Bush said. "They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."
  7. I havn't had single problem with the receiving messages - weird, because I use to and then ity fixed itself. Perhaps you could try disabling it - leave it a while and then re-enable it like a day later? Might work, might do nothing - heck it's worth a shot, though I'm no computer wiz ~ so it porbably wont work
  8. That's a shame that it didn't fire Perhaps in later versions the DS will be able to fire - then again, that's kinda unfair ~ unless you fight it! ! I sense a challenge! Ahhh . . . Getting . . . very . . . impatient! Still have several hours of uni stuff to do today and tomorrow! Need . . . time . . . to play Warlords!!! I've already got the "itch" My 200th post! Maybe I should celebrate with a game of Warlords . . .
  9. Well, if there's any Imperials out there worth being named after (even in the New Republic), it would be Pellaeon - he wasn't your usual Imp. My name, too, has Imperial heritage. The Krytos virus, though I've used it in my own interpretation - where the Imperial virus killed off any species other than humans in order to attack their enemy, I use it as an entity that defeats the enemies of the New Republic (hint hint Imperials ) . . . that and it sounds cool
  10. Novembre - Winter 1941
  11. The AI does become a bit boring, so you need to sproose it up - I try small maps so you don't have time to build up. Get some nice, fast paced action - I'm currently doing Fields of Plaz with three opponents and it started off extremely intense as I was sharing a resource field with one enemy who I was forced to destroy and a second enemy almost building inside the first's base - who have just finished building a Vengence, which is now bearing down on my base defenders (I've only got 2 DSDs ) As for the Death Star - not sure exactly, though try the map DS Test, there's a Deat Star II their that is controllable I havn't played it long enough to know if it has weapons though Long live the New Republic! Good to see another Republic commander braving the Imperial tyranny that still plagues the galaxy in an effort to rid us of their burden (no offence Lina ) Hopefully this Friday I'll have enough time free to complete the game I was mensioning and be able to post the results - hopefully . . .
  12. Evergrey - The Great Deciever Evergrey's genre is metal
  13. You'd have to very skilled with a blaster still ! The Ysalamari would stop the Jedi using force powers against you, and it would also block you from the force, so they can't "see" you through it - though how many Jedi would be unskilled enough to let that trip them up, Jacen Solo prooved that Jedi are still very effective without the force (NJO: Traitor). And considering that they would still have their force powers, unlike Jacen, they could increase their speed, throw their light saber at you, move large objects into the path of the blaster, still deflect blaster bolts etc. The possibilities are endless . . . of course then there are people like Boba Fett and Thrawn . . . .
  14. Oops, sorry - my bad. I've been posting the song title and then the band's name Opeth - To Bid You Farewell
  15. Palpatine couldn’t have the plans in his own hands; it was too much of a liability. Imagine if he got caught with the plans of the Death Star – the Jedi would be all over him and there goes his quest of galactic domination. By giving it to Dooku, it allows the plans to be protected from the “wrongâ€
  16. Ah yes, the infomous adaptation - this I've been told about, and poked holes through. First - If they adapt agaisnt energy weapons, that means that they absorb the energy, and what happens to the energy absorbed? They don't appear to release the energy, so they would use it to "power" themselves - thus they can be overloaded and destroyed still (especially with the higher powered weapons from Star Wars). Second, ion cannons work differently to laser cannons, as the name suggests. Ion cannons are designed to overload circuitry - so how could they adapt to it? And if all else fails - turn to weapons that can't be adapted to - such as missiles and projectile weapons. Well, that's my thoughts on destroying the Borg for the day
  17. Most things that have been changed I'm looking forward to, added sences, better battle sences and more. I think it's better that there will be more Ewoks in Episode 6 for two reasons - one more can get killed , and two - come on, tiny little teddy bears that can kill Storm troopers There's gotta be a lot of them to make that work! As for things that I don't like: Using *shudders* Hayden Christense as the older Anakin, having N-1s in the Battle of Yavin - definitely desirves that wtf Fett gave it and finally Padme's ghost - one question, how? She isn't force sensitive! Oh well, I've got the Trilogy on tape when it was remade (I use to have the original trilogy on tape, though after years of watching them they've been turned into noise ). Nevertheless, on September 21st - I'll be buying the trilogy on DVD, now all I need is the money .
  18. A Sun Crusher would be impervious to any attack made by the Borg. Though personally, I'd use an ISD mk I against the Borg. Why a mk I and not a mk II you ask? Well, three words: Sixty Ion cannons Borg are cyborg - so Ion cannons wouldn't only effect their ships, but the crew as well! A win win situation! Well, that's at least how I understand it - I'm not exactly a fan of Star Trek. No offence to any fans out there
  19. I totally agree with the Admiral. It was never said that the bugs created the plans for the Death Star - I got the impression that they were protecting the plans, not designing the Death Star.
  20. Yeah, that's the one - at least someone can spell his name! Visions - Evergrey
  21. No, not Obi-wan Kenobi (<- here's the spelling if you wanted, had to look it up myself ). They're talking about Luke and Mara's son who's named Ben, who was born in the NJO peroid - click here for a little more info if you want. Good 'ol Unofficial SW Encyclopedia
  22. Ouch Pellaeon!!!! That was some Imperial fleet to come up against Shame your computer crashed (I know how it feels, happens to me all the time and now I have to save my game regularly), I would have loved to see if the Picketship tactic still works - or if the change in AI since version 0.26c has gotten rid of that little Achilles’ heel. Great story Pellaeon - keep up the gaming
  23. Rose - A Perfect Circle Hehe, great one the_mask. Reminds me of Weird Al Yanko . . . umm, yeah I have no idea how to spell his name
  24. This story was with version 0.29 of Warlords - tis a long one as usual. As usual, I played the Alliance, and for something different I had my opponent set as the Alliance as well. The game started like most of, the frantic build up of units and factories. However, after creating a small fleet and creating my Destroyer shipyard, my first Ferret Probe was constructed. Anyone who has used the Ferret knows the huge visual/scanner radius they have. It was a soon as it exited my fighter factory, and I switched to sensors to move it off to the centre of the screen did I notice that my opponent was literally next to me at the adjacent resource field . I quickly sent my factories off to the other side of the map, though their extremely slow speed meant that I would have to stay behind in order to protect them and my refinery operation. To give an idea of how close they were, when I got my first Defender class Star Destroyer it was able to fire into the enemy base from my Destroyer shipyard! By this stage my factories where probably less than twice the distance they use to be and my small fleet had given way to large capitals. The DSD’s incident sparked the war to life with the enemy fleet charging me. Earlier I’d sent off a small detachment of ships to protect my factories, though now they were in recall. I had expected the enemy to attack my larger cruisers, though instead my refinery collectors became the real targets. Ordering them back to my factories where, I let the bulk of my fleet become the new target. At this stage, the contingent of ships that had been guarding my factories arrived in time to deliver a salvo of weapon’s fire to take out a MC-80c Mon Remonda and cover my unit’s retreat. The enemy vessels didn’t follow my fleet after they jumped to hyperspace, which was lucky – as I was concerned with moving my base, the enemy had time to create their own fleet. Thus, I resorted to plan B – 7 squadrons of my E-Wings attacking the enemy’s resource collectors. This got the AI’s attention, and even after my fighter jumped back to the safety of my base, the enemy followed them all the way back to my base. They were so hell bent on taking out the fighter that they were flying straight through my fleet without engaging, of course this allowed me an easy victory over the enemy’s fleet with no loss. After finding the AI can be baited, and refitting my fighters, I sent them back to the same target. This time, however, they were re-enforced by an equal number of XJ X-Wings. The combined fighters took out all resource collectors and the guarding units without trouble – with the exception of a few suicide runs, again . This time as the enemy’s units chased my fighters, I sent them away from both my base and the enemy’s. Every now and again, I was forced to send my fighters back at the enemy as they stopped chasing the fighters. Eventually the bulk of the enemy’s units were far enough away from the bases. Nearly my entire fleet fell out of hyperspace behind the enemy fleet as my fighters jumped away from danger. My large attack group made short work of the enemy capitals and support, though the fighters took quite a while to eliminate. All up the ambush went off without a hitch. Loosing only two Neb-Bs and a Corellian Light Frigate, causalities were minimal. Reuniting my forces with the three Mediator’s that were guarding my base, I made the final move in the game as my massive fleet arrived just within firing range of the enemy base. The surviving enemy unit’s were quickly mopped up by intense fire, as was the rest of the base shortly. With the exception of an MC-90 that was produced during the battle, there was no real opposition left in the final stages of the battle.
