  1. Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People
  2. E-Wings are very strong fighters, fast, manouvrable - probably the best fighter in tha game, I've had 1 on 1 matches between E-Wings and TIE Defenders and usually the E-Wing wins. I've completed my first real game in 0.30, not just a trial. As always, I was the Alliance with one Imperial(Expert) and one Alliance(easy, accidently left it) opponent. To start the ball rolling, I was attempting to re-think my build strategy now the prices of ships have gone up. My initial fleet was soly frigates - made up of Belarus', Sacheen, Neb-bs, Corellian Frigates. Everything was going fine, with no real opposition yet. It apeared that the AI was building slow due to new prices - though I was wrong. I hit the emergency button as the Imperials built a Titan, I needed firepower and quick. Initially I was going to get RSDs, as they're cheaper, though I noticed that the Imps were keeping to themselves and the the other Alliance team was closer. So began the painful construction of 4 DSDs, while trying to keep everything else going smoothly. Slowly, it became evident that a battle would start soon. Both AIs sent their fleets to gaurd their resource collecters - and with the Imps in expert, they had a Titan at one and two Harrows at another, strung between the capitals and their base were frigates and corvettes moving continuously between the three postions. It was a matter of time until the Imps got too close and someone would start firing. That happened sooner than expected as a resurce collector and the Titan moved to the centre of the map, and started battling the Alliance team. At that stage, the Alliance had a few heavy frigates and an MC-80 Mon Remonda as well as a Gollan 3. By the time my 4th DSD was ready, and my Mediator under construction - the Titan was obliterating the Golan. This is when I intervined. The 4 DSDs attacked the Titan, drawing its fire and eventually pounding it into scrap metal, my frigates engaged the smaller Imps at the Alliance base. Once the Titan was destroyed, I retreated to find my base with a new Mediator to help me. I quickly repaired my fleet (a DSD got a bit scratched and a few frigates needed more than just a new paint job) and went after the Empire. In the short time, however, they had built an Allegiance. This forced my hand as the Allegiance got too close to my resources. All out war followed with my fleet following the trail of frigates to the other Imperial resource collector and eventually their base. Once there, I faced a ISD mk II and III. My capitals took them on as my smaller ships dealt with their own kind. The battle dragged out longer than expected, and thanks to the DSDs now having shields, not one got any hull damage. Once the Imp capitals were defeated, it wasn't long until their base followed. Now I moved onto the Alliance base - in all that time they had managed to muster a Mediator. I assumed that the Mediator would be little hasle for my forces, and I sent off my ships to attack it. A lone DSD, already with a little damage to shields, was first to meet it. Now, those who play the Alliance now that a Mediator and DSD are fairly simular in firepower and over all armour - here's the run down. DSD has its firepower in heavyturbolasers and a roughly 40% armour and 50% shields of its total hitpoints. The Mediator uses torp launchers for a lot of its firepower and its hitpoint mainly go into shields. Any way, due to targetting bugs, my DSD focussed its attack on the very top of the ship, allowing around half of the shots to miss. The Mediators Torps, however, never missed. Eventually the rest of my units joined up to help. But by them, my DSDs shields were around 10% of their maximum and the Mediator was about 40% plus. The joint firepower of the rest of the fleet disabled the ships shields, and with them gone the ship fell quickly. Though my DSD was pretty damaged - over 50% damaged. And like the Imp base, there wasn't anything left to stop it from being destroyed. Well, next I'm redoing the game and I'm going Imps. Yes, you heard right - it wasn't a typo or a bug, I'm trying the Empire! !
  3. Good point, well I think that shows you need to be at a level like Vader to pull that off. Come to think of it, Jacen does the same thing in Traitor - no wonder I thought it was a good idea, it wasn't mine I was thinking of that, and that's how I got my force absorb. There's already force protect and force absorb - so I was trying to think of something simular
  4. Yeah, I would like models of star warships - though not really large ones, miniture size would be good. I use to try and make my own models, I made two space ships (not Star Wars) out of extra parts from plastic models as well as an MC-80, liberty style, from tin foil I'll have to try and find it and get a pic.
  5. I chose Yoda - though Yoda from the original triligy. I really like Yoda then, more so than in Episode I and II. In the original triligy, he appeared far wiser, powerful and above all mysteries. The old Yoda is undoubtably my favourite Jedi in the movies. EU, I tend to lean towards Kyle and Corran.
  6. The force is a form of energy that binds all living being. Jedi or force sensitive beings can amnipulate the force. The force is a form of energy, that like all forms of energy, can be converted into another in one way or another, such as using the force to rapidly move particles to create heat. So, to that degree, a Jedi's "force powers" are limited to his or her control of the force, imagination, stamina and his or her own will (Jedi or Sith, would you kill someone with the force?). So, with that said - as a Jedi, one could not use the force to inflict harm onto another, or not have the force harm someone directly. I've always liked thinking during the Yuuzhan Vong crisis, Jedi could have used the force to not throw them, but to create a powerful gust of wind to throw them. Ok, here's a list I've been thinking of for jedi: Wind, as above Sleep, use the force to convince the body that it needs to sleep at that moment Tazer, powered down lightning that'll knock out and hurt them a little - like a real life tazer Whirlwind, put a person in a whirlwind raising them up into the air and disabling them - or around youself as a sort of melee shield Mind tricks: Multiple selfs - create multiple images of yourself in your opponents mind Confussion - create weird images in their minds, or fiddle with their perseption and balance etc. and make them nautious Anti-circuit - a mixture between an ion cannon and lightning that can disable droids etc. Kenetic blast - usually simular to push, though the force weilder builds up kenetic energy (I guess between their hands) and then can launch it at an object, tranferring the energy ot the object. The user controls the KE as it flows to its target and also can manipulate how it effects the target - ie. transfers motion, moving them, heat them - if you know about energy transfer etc, you can do a lot with this KE blast mk II - Yeah, really dumb name. This would not be used by jedi on living opponents, and only by those very strong in the force and with a lot of control (Luke, Yoda, Vergree). Build up enough KE to super heat objects - melt a wall, a tank . . . something like this, though, would require a lot of concentration, time etc. Energy Absorb - another "power" that would require a talented master to do. Basically, it's an adaptation of the prior "power", though the user absorbs energy this time and would create a field of energy around themselves - portable shield? Perhaps, though there would still be energy loss to the surroundings heating them up, the user couldn't litterally absorb the energy as it would be converted into heat, sound and movement in the user (maybe a bit, like a couple of blaster shots). The last two I put just as examples. Both would be to difficult for a Jedi to do. I would think even the most talented masters would have trouble with them - well perhaps not Yoda. Using KE to heat up an object to melt it could be done by any jedi with the know how - though it could take along long time, that and it would drain the user. Think Kyp Durron flipping a void
  7. Afton's plan had merit - doing it her way would surprise the Stormtroopers as well as forcing them to fight a two sided battle, putting them in the crossfire. From being the captain of a frigate, he knew how useful such a tactic was. Though now, things looked as if they might go wrong again. "Sib? Sib, can you move?" He whispered. She didn't flinch. It looked like she had been stunned. Great, but this isn't the time to improvise - Afton is still behind the Imperials. Karn was now holding his own Corellian blaster and an Imperial E-11 he'd aquired during the battle earlier, waiting behind the create Afton had told him to hide behind. He slowly edged towards the corner as he waited for Afton to open fire . . .
  8. Don't forget StarWars: Force Commander Though, Barkoa is actually talking of board games - not computer games. Where you buy minitures, paint them and play against other human opponents on map, in a turn based environment - it's actually fun if you get into it.
  9. The Nebula class Star Destroyer for the Alliance, isn't a Nebula. The stats for a Nebula follow along the same lines as a DSD (as in a DSD vs. an ISD mk II) though for a ISD mk I. To my knolledge, though, there aren't any official stats for the Nebula - personally, I've always used these stats: same armour as the DSD, shields that are a little weaker (4D+2 instead of 5) and the following weapons: 60 Turbolasers (6D), 20 laser cannons (5D), 20 ion cannons (4D) and 8 Concussion missile launchers (9D) . . . though that's only my personal design The modified DSD with Gravity Well generators is called a Rejuvenator class Star Destroyer - which was a new Star Destroyer design made during the NJO peroid, mentioned in The Unifying Force based off the flaws discovered with the ISD mk II Rejuvenator which was destroyed by a mass swarm of Corral Skippers - which would explain the addition of 20 laser cannons onto your design instead of more turbo or heavy turbo lasers.
  10. IC: Rantar had been talking to his captor for almost five minutes. Still, she didn't react. Not working to plan, is it! "So, wanna play a game? What we do, is I'll look at something and say 'I spy with my little eye something beginning with . . .', and say the first leter of the object and you have to guess it! ok?" His captor didn't respond. If this doesn't bug her, well I've got plenty more. "I spy, with my little eye, something beginning with B - and I'm looking at you." OOC: I'll let you guess what B is If this doesn't work - well actually I am out of ideas
  11. Here are a list of keys you might find useful: I - Brings up a list of how many warships you have and how many you can have of specific type (ie. How many destroyers) Q - Brings up a construction tab that show's all contruction at once Backspace - Press multiple times to get rid of hud completely Scroll Lock - Takes Screen shots, don't know why they chose Scroll Lock TAB - Turns on and off the triangles around ships, there are three levels Those are some useful keys for playing, mainly the Q key, very useful to manage construction.
  12. Hehe, gotta love Homestar Runner - well, actually I prefer StrongBad and the Cheat. While you're visiting http://www.homestarruner.com you should also have a try of the games - in particular Pesant Quest and Pop Tire
  13. OOC: Well, I wouldn't want this to turn into Home and Away *shudder*. So looks like I'll jump into play for a little bit to get things moving again - I'll just pop in and out though, nothing special I'm still getting use to RPGs. I'll use Karn Macen for this story - my info is on the "Sign in Here" thread (here). IC: The Reckless Wonderer dropped out of hyperspace over a planet that Karn couldn't identify. He was too tired to ask about the planet - he was too tired to even ask if there were any Imperials on scope. He and his crew had a large shipment of stolen supplies he was trying to get to the Rebellion, and for the past three days straight he had been trying to avoid Imperials. Now he was just tired. A Mon Calamarian male at the ships sensor station pipped up. "Sir, we're reading an Alliance emergency distress beacon from the planet." "What, you've gotta be kiding me . . . we're in the middle of no where!" Karn wasn't usually this easily annoyed, though Karn usually didn't stay up for three days straight. "Alright, alright. Comms, get in contact with the people on planet and tell them we're on our way. Captian Kre'nel , send a shuttle down to get them. Will this day ever end?" The Captain replieyed, "Yes sir. Shuttle away - oh, and it's been three days sir." "Don't remind me" The shuttle was half way down to the planet when the long range sensors came online. "Reading inbound Imperial customs vessel - it looks like the one we've been running from." Karn was cursing his bad luck - What else could go wrong? Taking the command seat on the bridge, Karn began relaying orders and hoping the shuttle would get back soon . . .
  14. IC: Rantar was put into a crampt holding cell onboard the fighter, not what he had expected - though better than what he feared. His hands were cuffed behind his back with binders - something he could get out of if need be. He was glad that she hadn't used stun cuffs - or he'd be in a lot of trouble when this crate made it back home. Now came the hard part, part of his "ingenious" was to try and get his captor to join his side - well try. If that didn't work, he'd have to escape while on planet. Rantar could'nt help but think how difficult life had become since the bomb blast. "So, do I get food or water?" There was no reply. "Talkative aren't you? So, why me? Why'd you get assigned the task of capturing me? There were two perfectly good Jedi in the same space ship" . . . OOC: Glad to hear that your not planning on killing me, I'll remember to return the favour ! I'm not expecting to have you change sides either - your call. Though I'm planing on escaping, somehow . . . somewhere . . .
  15. OOC: Welcome aboard Tan, or should I say Séreméla? I think we've run out of bad guys on this story Havn't seen ADJ lately, so if it's alright by you Tan - can you be an Imperial?
  16. IC: Rantar's escape pod veered toward's their enemies fighter, he was surprised when the fighter first didn't fire and destroy his escape pod and then activated a micro-tractor beam and slowly started moving the pod towards the fighter. Rantar slid his vibroblade back into its sheath and into its hiding place. He quieted his mind and tried to think of what he was going to do. He had left the safety of the Jedi, though hadn't actually thought what he would do next - a typical trait of Rantar. Opening his eyes again, he stared in disbelief as he saw the Jedi's ship heading towards him. "For the sake of . . . " Rantar cursed under his breath. Pulling out a small comm unit/tracking device, Rantar contacted th Jedi. "I understand that you people have this code to protect. Though I chose to leave for a reason - you need to get to Mouvia and stop those creatures. I'll find out what's going on back on Vathinor, check your ships long range sensors - I've got a tracking device on me. If I need help, I'll call. "Don't worry about me, I'll be fine." After finishing he wondered whether or not the Jedi could sense that he was lying - he had no idea what was going to happen to him. He would have liked to have help protect the planet Mouvia, unfortunately circumstances didn't suite for that to work. OOC: In case you were wondering, I'm hiding my stuff in the bandage covering my wound - though Tan, you don't know this And oh, Tan we'll need to make a pit stop - I don't think my escape pod's air supply will last the trip back, and I'd prefer to be handed back alive EDIT: OOC: Hmm, was writing this before your last post, hence some of the discrepancies. Oh well - still fits in though
  17. "I think it's time we get outta here," Sib said holding her wounded leg. "I'm two steps ahead of you, " Karn replied. He'd been firing his blaster mercilessly in order to stop an all out advance of the main trooper body. He'd planned on following Afton's plan, mainly to see how much she could be trusted, though now things were different. In the blaze of fire he created, the Storm Troopers didn't notice the concussion grenade he threw at them. "Move it Afton!" Karn yelled as he grabbed Sib and threw over his shoulder. Sib didn't take being helped in such a manner lightly, and kicked Karn in the jaw as the grenade exploded - killing a large body of Stormtroopers. Trying to ignore Sibs attempts to knock him out, Karn ran to the other end of the facility before putting her down. "Your welcome, " Karn said sarcastically as he fired towards the remaining Storm troopers in an effort to cover Afton. Though there was no need, she was already beside them waiting with her droid to exit the facility. "Time to go," he whispered to himself, throwing another grenade, only a metre away from them. He saw Sib's eyes grown and even Afton appeared startled. Before either could ask what he was doing, Karn used his blaster to open the back door. As he ducked his out to see if it was clear, the second grenade went off - not in an explosion, though in a cloud of smoke. "It looks clear, lets get going." Karn said as he moved back into the building. Once again, he was too late - Afton was already out, and Sib was hoping out on her own. "Once again, you're welcome."
  18. Where do you get these episodes? I had a search last night and wasn't able to find them
  19. Rantar swivelled the turret sharply as the two blue trails caught his eye. Those better not be torpedoes! His dreaded thoughts were re-enforced as a warning was put over the comm system. He was getting really frustrated now. The medication that he'd taken was finally loosing its groggy effect, though it appeared as if it would be too late. Closing his eyes, Rantar focused and controlled his frustration. Opening his eye's again, he let off a barrage of energy fire in the path of the lead torpedoe. They had already been armed, probably in the hope to detonate if they hit an asteroid, and as it flew into the energy blasts it erupted into a magnificant plazma cloud engulfing the second torpedo. "Nice shot!" The message blurted over the comm unit, though it was to distorted to be reckognised. Why is this woman after me? What have I done? Rantar knew that the only reason the Jedi ship was being attacked was because of him. He was the reason that the others onboard may loose their life - he was the reason that Barkoa wouldn't reach his destination. Slowly, he realesed his finger from the trigger and stood up. Grabbing a comm unit, he chanelled it to the attacking vessel. "If it's me you want, then it's me you'll get - I'm in the escape pod launching now." Rantar moved to the escape pod as wuick as his injurred body could take him and jettisoned it before the others could object or stop him. He knew that the fighter could easily rip apart the Jedi craft - and their mission was vital to his planet, and another . . .
  20. Umm, is it just me . . . or can't anyone else find either the Bulwark or Strident to build for the Alliance? I've built a cruiser shipyard, and have no build limitations or research going, and neither ship appears in the cruiser shipyard list - just the Mediator (the description doesn't work) and MC-80 Mon Remonda. So, I think it's safe to say that they can't be built - and I'm guessing it's a bug because they're on the shiplist as done
  21. Nice looking mod - I'll have to re-intsall Generals to give it a shot!
  22. That would be cool, I collect some mintures too - though mine are from battletech (What the mechwarrior games are based on). Ah, I could see it now - a legion of Storm Troopers battling entrenched Rebels. Hopefully, if they're convinced to make them, they'll make EU units as well - both pre and post movies. I'd love some New Republic troopers, like in the pic bellow: http://www.wizards.com/starwars/images/gcc/51188_CN.jpg
  23. Great work Antilliles! ! This is undoubtedly my favourite 60 Standard Minutes yet - keep up the great work Antilliles. Next weeks topic should be very interesting indeed
  24. My guess . . . ?Pavarotti? (actually, it looks like a mix between Bert Newton and Derryn Hinch - Aussie joke ) ontop of Aphex Twin's Come to Daddy http://www.saxton.com.au/saxton_db_data/images/Newton_Bert.jpg Bert + http://www.theage.com.au/ffxImage/urlpicture_id_1075570395787_2004/02/03/HINCH2.jpg Derryn = http://www.soundgenerator.com/pix/articles/2004/03/pavarotti.jpg
  25. The K-Wing was built by the New Republic as a replacment bomber for the venerable Y-Wing (the Y-Wing was still used 30 years after the battle of Yavin). It was faster and stronger. More importantly it used a unique warhead system, where the K-Wing had 18 mounts on it's wings were different munitions could be mounted allowing the bomber to arm itself with varrying and mixed weapons for each battle. And in case you were wondering, this isn't the real K-Wing: http://www.aresinf.com/Revistas/Area3D/Vol04/Modelos/StarWars_Rebeldes/Kwing.jpg It's only fan fiction, even if it does look really cool. The real K-Wing has three engines, simular in design to an X-Wings, with one on top of the bomber. It has a long neck seperating the cockpit and main body like a Y-Wing. The cockpit compartments, from the side looks simular to and areofoil, and has two seperate canopies for the pilot and bomber. It has two turrets. One on top fo the cockipt section, between the two canopies and another under the cockpit section that's a quad laser cannon. It's wings are in the same position as the fan pic - though the hardpoints are along the wings and the two lower wings have at the end of them landing gear.
