POST HERE IF YOU CANNOT GET THE MOD TO RUN!!!!
Krytos replied to EvilleJedi's topic in Warlords (Homeworld 2)
Ah, that might be your problem. When you open up the zip file, there are 3 files in it. The largest file is the .big file, which you put in the data directory and the other two are the shortcuts that you put on your desktop. Use those two shortcuts instead of making your own. I think this should make it work, just make sure the two shortcuts have the correct paths etc. as in the previous posts. -
You just extract the entire sound folder, including the sound folder, into the data directory so it looks something like this: \Sierra\Homeworld2\Data\sound Then once you load/start a game, starwars music should be playing

For the Vong, strategically, the Corporate Sector's position would have only made it uselful during the beginning of their campaign. In my opinion its isolation would have made it a perfect stagging area for the Vong invasion, a great foot hold into the galaxy. Though they chose to ignore it primarily - though I'm very doubtful that they would have left it undamaged due to the reasons I talked about before. As for the Peace Brigade and other traitors coming from their, I'd say you're right - even if the Vong attacked the Corporate Sector, they've always seemed like sell outs to me. The type of people who'd rather fight with their enemy than for their galaxy to save themselves. I think the other main supplier of Peace Brigadiers would have been from Hutt Space, after all that's probably the largest concentration of smugglers, mercs, criminals etc. in the Galaxy. Mind you, I think one of the biggest surprises in NJO was when the Hutt's went against the Vong. Which brings me to another question, were the Hutts wiped out? In Ylesia, it's said that they were wiped out - though were they only referring to the planet Ylesia or to the whole race. It wouldn't be a lose if the Hutts got wiped out, though it would be difficult to kill them all off ~ they are slippery and generaly hard to kill (except for Jabba of course ) -

Which is why the Vong would have left it alone - it was not worth their resources when they could be used better agaisnt the New Republic. Of course, the Vong couldn't have just left them completely alone - they were in a position to threaten the Vong's supply lines and already conquered worlds. Had the New Republic been able to use the Corporate Sector for launching raids during the war, the Vong would have been in a bit of strife. Thus by at least inflicting some damage and showing their power they could sway the Corporate Sector to stay out of the war -

I've always liked to think that Earth is in the unknown regions. And that human's spread by either discovering some form of advanced space travel or something along the lines of KOTOR - where an advanced civilisation interferred and after several years of war, Earth was lost from all records. Well, that's what I think anyway . . . Who knows - maybe some time in EU they'll find Earth's or clues of it - personally I'd like it not to be found, kind of leaves it misterious, though that they learn of its existance etc.

Yeah, I can't remember what exactly - Other than it's to do with their beliefs. Considering the Vong, I'd say it also has to do with honour, so unless anyone contridicts me I'd say you're right.

[Wiping own tear from eye] I only met this thread a few times - though in that time I grew to know him well. And all those who knew him would agree - he was a great thread . . . . sorry, I can't go on

Have you put the .big file in the \Sierra\Homeworld2\Data directory? Also have you installed the latest update patch 1.1 for homeworld? If so, make sure the two shortcuts files have correct target: \Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\Homeworld2.exe -mod HW2SW_WARLORDS_BETA_V0.29_TEST.Big -luatrace and Start in: \Sierra\Homeworld2\Bin\Release\ Try running both shortcuts, as for me the HW2SW_WARLORDS_BETA_V0.29_TEST works, though I recall reading that the RDNHW2SW_WARLORDS_BETA_V0.29_TEST works for other people Good luck and I hope this works for you . . . hmm, perhaps this is in order: May the force be with you -

I've just tried the map myself, and I didn't have that problem. Judging from the pic its problems with the textures - which might mean re-installing the game/mod/update, though if you've fixed it there's no need I guess p.s. sorry about the delay, I've just started back at uni - ah where did the holidays go

That was Yun-Yuuzhan who torn off his limbs and threw them through the universe creating planets, life and even the other Yuuzhan Vong god's. It is also to do with why the Yuuzhan Vong have learnt to embrace pain. The Shamed One's also evolved the belief to encompass the force by saying that it was the sould of Yun-Yuuzhan after he tore his body apart and that the Jedi were directly connected to their gods. Well, I'm pretty sure that right anyway

I would assume that they were gaurding toher key worlds at that time, like Corellia, Kaut and Mon Calamari - these larger vessels would have been able to stop any other assault the Vong could have launched during that time, even if it were full scale the would have been able to delay the battle until re-enforcements arrived. After all, the defence of Coruscant was based off Jedi intellegence of where the Vong would arrive. Actually the Mon Mathma and the Elegos A'Kla were Defender class Star Destroyers modifyed to have Gravity Well projectors. Also, as for the debate over whether or not the Viscount and Strident are the same class, I personally believe that they were to seperate classes - this is one of the main reasons why: Of course, all this debating is speculation until something officila is released

Nah, I'm going to either go commando or sniper, so you better watch the trees, you'll never know what hit you hmmm, on another note I wonder if it's possible to high jack vehicles in the game?

I'm pretty sure battlefront will have fighters. I've seen several in game movies of it where a character was piloting a Snow Speeder against AT-ATs at the Battle of Hoth, as well as a screen shot of a Jedi Starfighter attacking a Droid Starfighter. As far as fighters go, I'd say they're in the game. Vehicles on the other hand, I'm pretty sure that you will be able to pilot/drive a AT-ST and a speeder bike, maybe the AT-ATs are AI only because it wouldn't be very fare otherwise, even if the Rebels get Snow Speeders and are able to control P-Towers and DF-9 turrets. Oh well, either way I'll play it

I'm down for it, and I'd love to help with either story line or what warships etc are being used in the game. Heck, I'd be willing to help with practically anything to do with it!

Hey again, I've obviously been playing the Warlords mod for a while - yet this only came to my attention a couple of days ago. I was playing as the Alliance, no surprise there , when one of my DSDs was fighting an ISD. Anyway, to the point - I compared the ship's speeds, and the DSD is slower than an ISD, where following RPG stats the DSD is an entire space unit faster ie. the same speed as a MC90.

Man, I soooo have to read TUF - but I still have to wait at least 3 weeks until I get my copy -
I've got Radeon 9800 pro, and I've never had that problem! What map was it and I'll give it a shot
-
Well, I guess it couldn't hurt to give it a shot - I hope *gulp* Now, I'm not making any promises except that I'll give it a shot, and that's to see if I can make a single unit! By the way, the closest thing to modding that I've done was changing stats with RebEd.

Yeah, I just found the forum for the guys designing/making it - man, they sure argued between themselves more than working on the project! Such a shame too - here I was with my hoeps up for another good mod Oh well, at least I've got the Coral Skipper and Vong warrior

GB is an alright game, though it gets boring quick. As for Star Wars ground based RTS, Force Commander was a lot better - even if it lacked several areas. There's a mod under devolopment at the moment for the Vong in GB, here are some pics. And apparently it replaces the Gungans http://www.freewebs.com/corran/coralskipper.JPG http://www.allenwhite.com/SWGB/IMG/vong3.jpg Here's the link to the Beta of the mod http://swgb.heavengames.com/downloads/php/getfile.php?type=Mods&id=263 I'm not sure what's like, as I'm yet to try it my self Oh, and you'll need the mod installer http://swgb.heavengames.com/downloads/php/getfile.php?type=Utilities&id=103 - don't forget that

Well, I've found with my system that so far on this mod runs slow on my computer. The card is great - though I use to have a GeForce 2 32mb GTS before (imagine my surprise when new games ran on my computer ), so I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make between a 9200 and 9800 - but I think it's substantual. If you can afford it, I'd say get one - especially with upcoming titles like Doom III, Halflife 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
