  1. I'd like to get into a tournement - I just need time. It's almost the end of the year, uni wise, for me. So I'm kinda packed with work at the moment and I don't have time to play a tournament Hopefully once uni's over the tournament will be going and I'll get to play ! ! Now, I just need time to start playing Warlords again
  2. Here's one to revive this thread http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v154/Coldy/stormyhumper.gif
  3. I don't get that, though I do have a problem when it comes to space battles as well. In fact, it occurs on my friends system as well. Sometimes after coming out of a battle, the game would crash and come up with the all to familuar: "Window's has performed an illegal operation" crap. I've never fixed it, so when it starts happening, I usually get the computer to do the battle for me - takes a lot of the fun out of the game, but at least it still goes.
  4. OOC: Welcom back Brandei! ! I hope you weren't detained by anything to serious. IC: Looking up at the cadet, Karn almost didn't realise that he was being spoken to. So few ever called him Sir, and it was a tag he prefered not to stick with. For some reason it made him uncomfortable in these situations - in combat or when commanding his own ship it made life easier. Though in someone elses ship, and waiting to talk to his CO, being referred to as Sir was just weird to him. "Not sure, kid. You don't have to call me sir, my own crew hardly call me sir so I don't except anyone else to. Pretty sure I havn't screwed up lately - but then again, I've a tendancy to get on people's bad side." Karn could see that the cadet was a bit on edge, and from his question it was obvious the soldier had done something wrong. "So, what's your story Cadet?"
  5. Yet to see True Romance, though I've seen a few other Tarantino's - like Pulp Fiction and Resevoir Dogs which are good. Saw Kill Bill Volume 1, can't say I liked it that much Other good movies: Seven Negotiator Fight Club Bruce Almighty Ocean's 11 The Professional Fargo Oh Brother Where out Thou The Big Lobuwski
  6. Rantar peered around from behind the large rock he was using as cover. There it is, there's my answers . Rantar was staring at a mansion that was on the outscirts of the city, on a private block of land. It took him a long time to find the house, though now he would find answers. The mansion seemed to be ungaurded - though, Rantar knew that that meant there was going to be other securit measures n the form of cameras, droids, trip wires. He would have to be careful now. From here on he would also be alone, there wouldn't be anyone that could come and help, their would be no-one rescuing him this time. Closing his eyes, Rantar swollowed hard and wished himself good luck. With that he left the safety of his rock and headed into the darkness.
  7. OOC: Is this RPG still going? I hope so, because it's a really good one. Captain_brandei I'm at the General's quarters just like you wanted, can't wait to see what you've got waiting for me
  8. IC: Karn leaned further back on his chair and took a sip from his newly freshened drink. "Who next? Well the Empire is still here - and I think they'll be here to stay, which means that they're always going to be a contender for power. But who knows - maybe our next enemies will be from the Unknown Region, areas within the galaxy that are hostal or ever scarier: Outside the galaxy. That sure would be interesting, to have a species from some other galaxy travel all the way here to attack us or make peace. Of course, if they were going to attack us they could study our militaries and technologies for years without us knowing. I mean, there are some many ways for them to observe us from outside the galaxy and from within - nearly every day I see an alien species that I can't name or remember seeing before." Karn let his chair glide back onto all four legs again beore continuing, "Like you said, there's always going to be some one to fight. That's what ripped apart the Old Republic, and I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens for the New Republic. Nevertheless, if I'm called apon to help keep this galaxy safe for all - I'm going to do it no matter where the enemy came from. May the force forbid that someday it's Corellia, that would make it hard to fight my homeworld." Karn took a long sip of his drink. He shuddered as the thought of Corellia rebelling against the New Republic popped into his mind again. OCC: Sorry, to many references . . . couldn't resist!
  9. Nah, the RPGs aren't dead - well at I can at least speak for Escape from Bespin and Vathonir Crisis. Like Jess said, we've been busy. I'm in my first year of Uni and I've been getting a large load of homework every week for quiet some time. And like the others, I've got exams coming up soon. So I think it's safe to say that these smaller RPGs will be quiet with only a few posts here and there when people get a chance until the exams are finally over - for me that's the 11 of November. Really!?! That would be soooo cool to have so many friends on this forum going to the same school!
  10. OOC: YEAH! I'm back on line! A tree fell across my road (a dead end, dirt road) and took out my telephone connection and the telephone company finally got it back on today! IC: "Ah, ok . . . is that you Afton?" Karn replied dumfounded after hearing Afton, but not seeing her. He was clutching his E-11 so hard that there was little feeling left in his hand. After hearing the noise, Afton went off to see what it was - though no-one saw her come back. Yet it sounded as if Afton was next to them. The same roar echoed down the corridor again, and again it was closer. The group stared down the corridor waiting to see a Rancor step out of the shadows - but nothing happened. Karn turned back to the group to speak, when he did Afton was standing next to him. After his little pause, Karn started to speak. "Afton's right - we need to get out of here. I saw a droid maintenance shaft a few metres back - that should get us out of here." Without a word the group headed in the direction of the roaring noise. It didn't take long for them to reach the shaft, and with an almost deafening roar from what seemed like only a few metres away, the group disappeared down the shaft. "Has anyone noticed that we're always being chased?" Karn asked in a smug tone, though before Sib behind him could take a swipe - the all to familur sound that had been plaguing the group started again, from within the mainenance shaft. "Whatever it is can't be much bigger than us to fit down here!" Karn said as he quickened his pace. The roar came again, this time closer than ever, it sounded as if it were right behind Sib who was the last in the group. Next came her scream. "Argh! It's got me! It got my leg! Help help help!" Karn dropped onto his back and lifted his blaster expecting to see some monstorus creature attacking Sib. Instead he only saw her jump over him and run down the shaft. Karn quickly tried to get up when his leg was hit hard by some dense object. Without hesitation, Karn pulled the trigger of his blaster sending a wave of energy bolts down the maintenance shaft. All he hit was air, none of the blasts hit an attacker. The group turned and ran to help Karn. Before they got very far, they stopped as he began to hear laughter. "Hahaha, here's our Rancor!" Karn said as he lifted a Mouse droid with a large speaker attatched to it back. Karn's laughter was cut short as the Mouse droid's speaker bloated out the sound of a Rancor roaring. Karn quickly ripped the speaker off the droid's back before letting it go on its way. Everything was now clear. Some resistance movement had set up the corridor to stop the Imperials following them - turning off all the lights and having an almost un-noticable droid move around making sounds of a Rancor. The Imperials would have been scared out of their minds just like Karn and the other's had been - which also explained why there where blaster burns and explosive creators all over the hall way and no dead. Clever, very clever It had been so effective the Imperials had sealed the corridor. Whoever had set up this bloackade for the Imperials would be very happy to know it went off without a hitch. "Ok then, back we go. That little diversion would have been set up by some resistance group trying to evade the Empire. I suggest we find out who and where they are, and better yet: Can they help us."
  11. Ah, privateer - now there was a game! It's been years since I played it - but I still remember it as an awesome game. Probably the first game where the player buys different ships and gets to upgrade their ship. The closest game I've ever come to playing, that reminded me of Privateer, was Tacyon the Fringe. That too was a great game! P.S. Was it me, or was the voice of the main character in Tacyon Bruce Cambell?
  12. I've got a 17" Samsung SyncMaster 753DFX, it's a CRT. It's a good monitor, though if I could afford it I would get a high quality LCD Though my best monitor was an Acer 14" which I had for 13 years - and in all that time it only had one dead pixel and could handle 1024 x 768 at 65 Hz! Guess they don't make things like they use to
  13. I've played Freelancer - great game! Graphics are awesome and surprisingly it has a great storyline as well. The real fun is in multiplayer - though those games are hard to get going. Hey Cain, did you ever find the Corsair's and Outcast's bases? If you havn't, you should keep looking until you do! Unbelievable! Really great twists there, and hidden jump holes! I wont say more or it'll spoil it - though if there's an end to the game (because after you finish the campaign you can still keep playing as a freelancer taking on contracts) it's when you find these areas - well, that's my opinion at least
  14. I got Army of Darkness for my birthday on DVD this year along with Aliens - still havn't watched aliens, but loved Army of Darkness - great film!
  15. I'm a huge fan of the Aliens saga, Preditor and the AVP games - well, except Aliens 4 So I'm eagerly awaiting its release and hoping that all the bad reviews and rumours I've heard aren't true
  16. Karn turned to Ulic and patted him on the back, "Ha, you're beginning to sound like me! And we've barely met!" Karn walked to the front of the group, next to Sib. His arm was still saw, but now it appeared to only be a mild flesh wound. Karn also had the same bad feeling Ulic was having. The hall way was dark, not the pitch black of the maintance room, though still hard to see in. Still, even through the darkness, the group could see the battle scarred walls, rubble and debris litterd the corridor, though there were no dead anywhere to be seen. Karn moved to one of the scarrings on the wall to look at it, "This is fresh - it looks like someone put up one hell of a fight in here before being over powered." No one in the group answered with words, instead they all clutched their weapons tighters. What had ever caused this much destruction had to be Imperial, and probably close by as well. The corridor was long, though wide enough for a hover transport to move down. The further down the corridor the group went, the darker it appeared to get - and the more nervous everyone got. The Empire had fought here with ferocity - and high explosives. Karn could now see a large door at the end of the corridor. It was the only thing not damaged and was the only obvious way out. As they reached, Karn inspected the large metal door - it had been sealed shut. Why had the Imperials sealed the door? What could they have hoped to achieve with it? Karn turned to face Ulic and Afton, "Any of you know why the Imperials would seal this room after such a big fight, and leave the lights off?" Before either could answer, a deep rumble resonated down the hall. Karn's eye's widened as he clutched his blaster harder than ever while trying to figure out if the rumble was mechanical or biological. The sound resonated again from down the hall, this time closer. Whatever it was was too far to see down the long, dark corridor - though was getting closer. "Never mind - I think we're about to find out!" Karn said, eyes still wide, as he rested the stock of the E-11 against his sholder and bit back the pain of his injurred right arm.
  17. Rantar squinted in the dark in a vein attempt to see his surroundings. He held a bandage to his arm where the pipe had hit him, and for the first time since the whole incident started - Rantar felt safe. He was in his friend's basment, and was being taken care of by his friend's family. Though this wasn't any time to sit back and relax - he needed to think about what was going on around him and what he could do to stop it. He'd been attacked by security officers - from his department! Whatever "the organisation" was upto, they had power and it appeared a lot of it. Before he could think of what to do next, he needed to know who he was fighting, who "the organisation" really was. Rantar would fight for his planet, though not for a lost cause or the wrong people. Rantar closed his eyes as he decided it was time to pay "the organisation" a visit. He knew where to go, though should he go by himself? Should he drag Tro'Bar into the fight? Were the Jedi coming for him? No, he couldn't bring Tro'Bar into the fight, at least not yet anyway. And he doubted the Jedi were coming for him - after all, he left by his decision and the Jedi have their own battle to fight. It would look like Rantar would be on his own again. His thoughts were broken by the sound of a door hissing open, it was Tro'Bar. Rantar sighed and told his friend what was he was going to do. "Rantar, I can't stop you - but I can tell you how foolish this is," Tro'Bar said as he lowered his head. "Friend, before you leave - know this: if you are ever in trouble, you can count on me. I'll be there for you no matter what, this I promise." Rantar smilled at his old friend's sincerity, "Thanks - hopefully I want have to get you to fulfill that promise. I don't want anything to happen to you or your family." With that Rantar headed out of the house and started on his long journey to far outside the city and to where he would find answers.
  18. Guess the rest of us will have to wait for the DVD Oh well, I've to much work lately to watch anything - damn uni
  19. Sounds promising, I just wish that they follow the EU and dont make a new storyline. Personally, I hope they do at least a session of the NJO, against the Vong. I just hope that the TV series doesn't screw with the rest of Star Wars with either bad characters, actors or storylines.
  20. KMFDM - A hole in the wall
  21. Well, this isn't from the movie - though just as good for those who own Episode II on DVD. http://www.dvdreview.com/eastereggs/collect/432.html Read the third paragraph, where they mention THX 1138 for the DVD - Very cool
  22. It's a shame the Errant Venture, Boosters ISD, had its weapons stripped. I think only in Rebel Stand, does the ship get its proper weapon load out back. Oh well, at least you can boast about owning and ISD Though, if memory severs me right - didn't Booster turn it into a Casino?
  23. Well, curently I watch Episode I and II seperately and then IV-VI. When Episode III eventually comes out, I'll watch the triligies seperately . . . well, except for those marathons I've got planned
  24. Great idea! It would be great to see some NJO era units for the game - especially considering it's wide timeline and variety as it is, though it'll be hard doing much without having the game out yet. Hopefully when I get some more free time, I'll head over there and check it out. I'm not much of a programer, and my 3d modelling is hardly optimised for games - though I'd love to give a hand in anyway possible. I'm an alright designer, can do high detail models, and have a pretty good knolledge on Star Wars. Oh, and I love the NJO almost as much as the original triligy. Who knows, with holdiays approaching in a few months, I might be able to learn a few new skills to help more. Good luck to them with the mod, and hopefully I'll be able to help soon
  25. Rantar quickly wiped the trickle of blood from his eyes and got back into his defencive stance. Two on one now It was now morning, almost 12 o'clock, and he'd been jumped after getting out of the speeder he had stolen. He wasn't sure where the three had come from, though they had managed to disarm him before he had a chance to use his blaster. They were armed with pipes and whatever makeshift weapons they could grab. Rantar had been able to knock out one of them, though took a blow in his head as a reward. "Time to die Rantar!!!" The one on his right yelled as he dived at him. Rantar rolled to his right putting the opponent inbetween himself and the other thug. Rantar twisted to get his side to face the thug as he stood from his dive and delivered a side-kick to his temples. The thug rolled on the ground and gave one sharp scream before he stopped moving all together. The other thug, seeing his friend taken out so easily, through his pipe at Rantar. Quick reflexes broguht up his arm blocknig the pipe. Yelling out in agony, Rantar grabbed hold of his injurred arm and quickly swung to deflect any other attack made, Rantar was struck with a sharp jab to his face. Staggering back, he attempted to hold his balance, but gravity got the best of him and he landed heavily on his back. Staring up, the thug entered his vision again. This time holding Rantar's blaster. "Good bye Rantar," he said with a lsy grin. He slowly tightened his grip on the trigger. In a blinding flash, the air smelled of burnt flesh and the explosive rip of a blaster bolt shuddered through the air. Trying to focus, Rantar saw the thug drop to the ground dead. In his wake stood Tro'Bar. Tro'Bar leaned over Rantar's body and with a smile on his face spoke, "I said 11 o'clock, not 12"
