  1. Oh the humanity
  2. Happy new Year! @DC: Long time no see How was your Christmas?
  3. I think that was the stupidest thing they could have done. While I don't doubt the Saddam was a coward and only put on a show in the end when he was truly terrified - killing him achieved nothing good for the people. It turned him into a martyr, and mass death has already occurred in his name and has undoubtedly prolonged the war there. They should have kept him locked in a dark cell, where he'd fade out of existence - not make a spectacle of him.
  4. For one reason or another Rebellion doesn't allow screenshots. Try using this program, it's worked for me: http://www.irfanview.com/
  5. Nice conversation I'm actually quiet impressed with that toaster Tofu A few things to try and fix the top. First, I'd suggest selecting the top region that's meant to be flat (select it via a face selection within the editable poly method) and then scroll down the modifier panel and look for something called "make planar" that should straighten them all out - however, it might not work perfectly so you'll need to do some manual fixing and probably apply the method again. Also, it could just be the normals that are buggered. Click on the modifier stack, scroll down to one called "smooth" - NOT MESH SMOOTH or TURBOSMOOTH. Just smooth. This will allow you to reset the normals for the lighting and give a quick fiddle around with stuff (There's not much in the way of options there - just an on/off toggle and an angle thresh hold. Don't bother with the series of numbers at the bottom)
  6. Cute?
  7. What he said So, how was my Christmas? Well ... different is a good way to describe it. It has to be the first year I've gotten up Christmas morning and not cared. I guess it's partly a coming of age thing, but mainly political correctness gone wrong. There's so little Christmas spirit around it's saddening. What else? How about the fact I had a white Christmas! Now, some of you are probably thinking: "Yeah, so what?" Well ... Australia, Christmas: 25-35 degrees, hot and sunny with plenty of out doors fun. Not a blanket of hail! Seriously - I stared bleakly out my window, eyes widening as the torrent of hail plummeted from the skies to caress the iron roof with a deafening roar, all the while turning the once green backyard into a ocean of white thanks to the desert of diffracting ice crystals, with a dumbfounded look on my face wondering if some how my brother was pulling off the world's best prank. And yes, the hail made me write that! In the past we've had rain and bad weather around Christmas, but never on the day. And never has it hailed like it did, you would have thought it were winter and not summer. Hmm, on top of that I've been in bad health lately - which just ruined one of the best parts of Christmas. The food! Turkey, Ham, Prawns ... other stuff too. But alas, I could only manage one serving Whhhhhyyyy? Apart from that, it was good to see family again - even if crook. Now, more people talk about Christmas goodness! @Mad: My god son, you're going to get right rooted plastered with all that grog! I hope you are at least able to remember Christmas after that bash, because you sure as hell wont remember that night
  8. Very nice! If you want, I've got some models in the download section, feel free to use them. Can't remember if the page shows the author ... if it doesn't I'll write at list of what's mine.
  9. I'd like to say spectacular. Compared to a lot of the EU, it's great - but, there are still heavy flaws in the story that just bug me (I'm currently re-reading it, upto Star by Star). The plot lines and character interaction are great - it's the "details" that bug me. As the author changed, so did the consistancy. One minute fleets are massive with 30 ships and the fate of the galaxy hangs in the balance because of this one battle over Ithor! The next minute, there's hundreds of warship duking it out somewhere else not important ... then you have some ships dying easy and other ships that are invulnrable (what comes to mind in Star by Star is how terrifying a Vong warship is until it gets attacked by a handful of jedi in old fighters and Skipray, then they're childs play). Even still with the ever likely chance of a known character dying, they still have an air of superiority about them that's just annoying. Such as where it takes Jacen in Star by Star to point out a weakness in the Vong's defences after glancing at a display, yet none of the New Republic's Intellegence forces noticed. In fact, the thing that bugged me the most - was how the series made it seems as if the Jedi were this "ubber" force and the New Republic was, well stupid and incompetant. Without a known character present, the New Republic forces would loose. Other than that, it was better than most series, but it still always felt one sided for the majority of the series. The Yuuzhan Vong would be unstoppable for most of the story, until towards the end in the final battle the heros would get away or win. I would have liked a more "realistic" and turbulant feel to it, where there were counts of the New Republic holding off the Vong, launching counter strikes or something more that didn't include the main characters - there was often heresay where the New Republic was loosing, at least throw in some victories. I guess, consistancy wise, I'm use to novels like Battletech where there is constant consistancy between novels ... even if they do get pagued with author fiat constantly
  10. *runs and gives BS a hug!* We all love you! *runs away into the shadows before he gets hit*

  13. Rantar entered his room, tired and happy. Underlining his happiness were some odd feelings he couldn't place. His gut had fallen heavy when Afton told him that she had been engaged. But why? Was it because she had also said that it had fallen through for her? Was it because of her age? Maybe it was some underlining feeling towards Josson? Or maybe something else ... Rantar shook the thoughts from his head. He stared at the ancient clock that hang from his wall, it read 1:30. 1:30 already? Sure has been a while since I've had a good time. Throwing off his shirt and pants, Rantar dived onto the bed and lay there for several long minutes thinking about the night. All the time, a smile had crept onto a face, a smile he hadn't worn in a long time. Slowly, darkness found its prey and Rantar drifted off to sleep, knowing he'd have to get up early in the morning for another day of routines leading towards an attack.

  19. @Eagle: I'd say it's fake, I can't imagine that there's a religion that stupid and with obvious comic timing. But, I was proved wrong about absolutely stupid religions before *cough* scientology *cough* And on another note: Toys of doom

Ok, so maybe I didnt ... but I did model it ... and then render it ... then upload it ... come on, that's a fair bit of effort Seriously though, LLF for starting it, Jahled's for effort (editing all those frames to put the hat on ), and Tex/JH for funny value .. and me for being me ...
