Well, I saw the first episode of Heros. Well, yeah it seems that my last post summed it up. Over hyper expectations leading to an episode where nothing really happened. Of course, that's not as bad as having something bad happen. I'll give it a shot, see where it goes - might be cool, so many people here think so

No you couldn't As for jobs - so far, so not so good I've emailed a total of 6 or so, two have responded - one saying: "No." The other ... "No - but if you can do it in the second semester .. maybe" - which I can't. I phoned one of the places, and they told me to email them ... I already had Not so good. She also said there was next to no chance.

Well, as I'm applying to various places I'm expanding my portfolio somewhat. That A-Wing will take too long to finish for my portfolio (textures, renders, explosions bleh). So, some character modelling - just the one render at the moment, going for a game model. It should look better with a head and some textures. http://img351.imageshack.us/img351/1560/progressday01yo9.th.jpg On the left is the original concept art (I forget who did it, but it was made back in the day when Westwood were making Command and Conquer 3). I've drawn over the top with some guide lines for meshing it up - helps a lot .. well, for most of it. Can actually make some parts more confusing I'll plan the head tomorrow and model it, once done I'll optimise it manually, then use the original concept art to do the textures. Then, and only then I'll consider either making a higher poly version and lower poly and a normal mapped version (eep, that'll be a lot of work ) EDIT: Ah, crap -sorry fellas. Well, the news over here has been showing it a bit - and I seriously didn't see any racism in the comments shown. It was bullying, she was an "out-sider" to a few of the "women" there (I'd use a different word to describe that Jade thing), and as bullys do - they pick on her for being different. I felt like the media did their fair share of blowing stuff out of proportion - instantly jumping to the racism card. The world has become too politically correct - it was bullying. Fact, a bully will pick on someone for being different. Anyone who's gone through school will vouch for that. Wear different cloths - picked on. Have different customs - picked on. So, if that person is from another "race" (I love the fact that saying race, is technically a racist term, as your pointing out that someone is different to you ) is bullied it must be racism now? Stupid. Haha! Brilliant Jahled! I'm glad she won, truth be told.

Well, it sounds like it could be fun ... but a lot of work as well. I'd skip this one Tofu - apart from the extremely steep learning curve you're facing, and hours upon hours of work, your oppositions will have experience and team mates. Still, if you want to use it as some incentive to get started - then do so. Draw up some rough images for an idea and try to make it.

As the soldier looked on with eyes, the helmet looked on with more – thermal, infra-red, motion, EM, life signs sensors and more augmented what the soldier saw. But nothing appeared in the jungle that stood 200 metres away. Vong warriors, the patient ones, were known to get as close as 50 metres before triggering the sensors – and that was usually just a sensor flicker, dismissed by the soldier as a glitch. The enemy would then be pouncing from around their cover, throwing thud and razor bugs as they closed the distance and began to strike with their snake like pole arm. Well, it's been a while since I've taken Coruscant ... mainly because it's been a while since playing Rebellion for a long peroid of time But, I use to take over all or close to all other core sectors before moving into Sesswhatever, where I'd make a beach head of one world and stock pile there with my initial fleet and a lot of troops. Then, a fleet from each of the other sectors I control would roll on in hitting other worlds surrounding Coruscant. If I were patient, I'd take control of the other systems within the sector and stop any revolting going on - then take Coruscant. If I were impatient .. so, very often .. I'd go straight for the throat and leave a handful of worlds in the control of the Empire before taking over my prize. From then on out, it's a matter of mopping up in the Rim for a few years until the buggers are chased down (I usually let them live just so there are fleets to attack ). So, all in all, it's with 1+ planets under my control - usually around 5. 5 fleets in sector, sometimes a mass invasion of 5 fleets over Coruscant - once I did it with a single Corellian Corvette ... yeah, anti-climatic. Yes, well I just had two great experiences. I've done it before - and while trying NOT to sound arrogant, they've come out alright (RR people will know what I'm talking about ). But, I was doing some texturing for the A-Wing - just the blasters - and it just wouldn't work ... maybe I was being finicky. I then tried making a texture for a creature I just modelled ... umm .. well .. yeah, that was more or less an experience of failure.

Well, 6 days until Hero. And I'm thinking that I might be let down. Once of those things where a friend gets hyper excited "Oh, it's a fantastic show! Brilliant, a master peice and other hyperbole adjectives!" So, I wait - I watch, and I get disappointed. ... Well, the point of this post is 6 days until I'll actually see the show Yeah .... time to leave the room now, bye guys

Meh, I'm not fussed either way. Wanna use it, go for it. Don't wanna don't. If I can think of a reason to HAVE a small fighter, I might as well use it On a side note, did I ever tell anyone I hate texturing? Because I do. I hate texturing. Maybe I should stop trying to do things the quick and easy way ...
