  1. Will the next few weeks also see a resurgence of new material?
  2. I believe the AT-AA walker is there for exactly this reason.
  3. No, but they are used by them for quick and easy troop transportation, which is why I have it there. Vehicles used by them, not necessarily made by them.
  4. Maybe have them skip answers that would go in the interview?
  5. Going through the issues, a Major went through the airlock in SW #51, while the traitor tried to kill Vader in the next issue, on-board the Tarkin. For those of you interested, here's what that superweapon looked like: http://starwars.wikicities.com/images/6/6a/The_Tarkin.jpg
  6. I'm not sure, are you thinking of the one with the Tarkin battlestation? (They should have that in this game as a hero-unit, it was an awesome design.)
  7. He did a humorous execution in one of the old comic stories. Can't remember the exact lines, but it went something like this: Vader: - Captain, I believe you need to relax. Take a walk outside and calm your mind. Blundering captain: - Yes. Yes, I need to take a walk outside and calm my mind. *Walks stiffly out of the bridge* *Moments later* Controlroom monitor: - Lord Vader, someone has opened the outer airlock in section 2343 without authorization!!! - Is that a problem? *Sweating* - No, my lord. There's no problem.
  8. That's a good question: When can we expect official info on units, buildings etc. if they can't be specific at his time?
  9. It doesn't look like I can make the chat, so I'd like someone to post these questions for me: 1. Is the AT-PT in? 1. Is the AT-TE in? 1. Is the UT-AT in? 1. Is the AT-OT in? Can you tell I love the ROTS vehicles and want them in the Imperial Army? ;P
  10. I forgot to say this before, the AT-AA walker has been known for quite some time, showing up in numerous pics.
  11. If you're an Imperial on the outside, everything but the bombers can get in. That's how it is.
  12. If you're on the planet with ground vehicles, you'd just walk through anyway. I don't really see the arguments against it being on the inside.
  13. That's quite possible, the Republic's LAATs were fielded with individual atmospheric containment shields, so having strong back-up shields purely for the tower-era of their mightiest warships seem quite within their capabilities.
  14. Actually, at the first engagement the Executor participated in, a miscalculation upon exiting hyperspace, caused three Imperial-class destroyers to crash into the Ex. These were all destroyed, while the Executor's shields saved it from anything bigger than a few weeks in repairdock. The impact of a fighter-sized projectile, like the A-wing, would cause little damage. But, since the shields (both primary and auxillery) were down, the impact was much more severe and led to its downfall as seen.
  15. "In true SW fashion" you would have walkers or crawlers go through the shield and destroy it from inside.
  16. That would be the AT-AA walker (we forgot that one on the list of units!) I guess the Acclamators serve more as frigates than troop ships then? (Which some of their variants already do in other sources) Speaking of designations, I saw in the Leipzig footage that ships were classified 'corvettes', 'frigates' but when highlighting star destroyers, these were called 'capital ships' . Has this been changed to 'destroyer' in the most recent development of the game?
  17. Actually, the SPHA walkers are dedicated artillery units. AT-ATs are troop transports with artillery-level firepower (though they had to use "maximum firepower" to penetrate the generator on Hoth). Since the SPMA walkers are in the game on the Imperial side, they would serve the traditional artillery role, while the AT-ATs carry people around, engage other armored vehicles and do artillery-duty if need be.
  18. Actually, it was the power generator for the shield. But I digress. The point is, they could have made it possible to just walk through the shields with grounded craft in the game, a good task for walkers.
  19. Yes, about upgrades, ask if there will be upgrades among individual types of vehicles to better, more powerful models. For instance, from SPHA-T to SPAM-T walkers or vice-versa.
  20. Yeah, I think the ITW:OT said something like that. Only localized "if-all-else-fails" shields, in addition to the sensor globes.
  21. Yes, but the Rebel team had to pass "traffic control" to get through it in their shuttle, and the novelization describes the generator powering a shield for both the DS II and the forest moon it's situated on.
  22. I remember when I got Battlefield 1942 and played it a lot. Great game, but I wanted more tanks and armored combat. Lo and behold, mods like Forgotten Hope (play it, it's good!) come along and add greatly to the game, I'd even go so far as to say they made it a completely new and more enjoyable game! However, judging by what I've seen so far, Petroglyph already did so much from the start, I don't think there'll be alot to add or change once the game is out. So that goes to their credit. Anything additional will only be for us hardcore realism/detail nuts, like Teradyn said.
  23. + Here's something to blow your mind: First generation AT-ATs were deployed on Jabiim almost two years into the CW. AT-STs were part of Clone Army assets towards the end of the war, and thus attacked their Jedi commanders when Order 66 was given. 74-Z speeder bikes participated as early as Geonosis, and were seen in ROTS. Conclusion: Most of the ground vehicles we know and love in the OT, come from the CW-era. Seeing other units as well, is thus only reasonable.
  24. I think that's the general idea, yeah. Yes, did I come across as saying something else? I not, then that is what I meant. =) Judging by their actions in ESB and various comics, they can bomb from relatively low altitudes. And the shield on Hoth appeared to go at least a couple of kilometers above ground, judging by the flightpath of the snowspeeders. If the Rebels could have airsupport like that, then the Empire only needed to get something similar inside the shields to do the same. They might simply have chosen the "ground only" option due to time constraints. The AT-AT line-of-sight was pretty far.
