  1. The trailer showed some good atmosphere on the ground-levels, especially the rainy plains. Nice touch. My only beef is that most units in it were either seen in the previous trailer or have been spotted in screenshots, so there really wasn't anything groundbreakingly new on that front. There is only so many times I can watch the most famous vehicles (AT-ATs, X-wings, ISDs) go back and forth before tiring. Though the amassed walker-force seen from multiple angles was impressive, and it'll be fun to assemble them in the game.

  3. Actually, everything we see them use already existed before or during ANH. Which is why we should have had TIE/in interceptors as well, they were around in that time-frame.
  4. There's the possibility they might go with established history, where the Rebels only had Y-wings and Z-95 Headhunters at the start of the conflict. doesn't mean the imps wont have a prequel fighter tho. Touché
  5. And you are a Petroglyph employee? ;P
  6. nope, there was a tiny bit in AOTC and more of it in ROTS Believe it or not, they actually used a sped-up version as the "voice" of the Imperial Patrol Droid in Mos Eisley (in the SE, before the worker-droid punches him to the ground).
  7. There's the possibility they might go with established history, where the Rebels only had Y-wings and Z-95 Headhunters at the start of the conflict.
  8. There is also the issue of each fighter representing a group. Is this true all the time? If so, how can you tell when one in the group is destroyed?
  9. Would be cool if it really was a military-grade Treadwell droid. Don't think it's any kind of walker, due to the "legs" rotating in mid-air. Would fit in if they were Treadwell arms.
  10. Since ARC-170s, Eta-2s and Belbullab-22s are in SW:Galaxies, I wouldn't discount them being in this game, though it's probably unlikely. Then there's the LAATs being used by the Rebels in BF II... Heh, I think modders who want more stuff in EaW are gonna have a field-day making additional units for the OT-period.
  11. The thing appeared to be spinning on a stationary base, so it's probably a radar or some other kind of sensor.
  12. True, but both the Delta-7 and Eta-2 were flyable by normal pilots and clones. In fact, the series wasn't sold off to Sienar (future makers of the Imperial TIE program) before ten years after ROTS. As for vehicles that are too old to participate 20 years later, I doubt it. The galaxy is big enough and relatively stagnant to produce any major revolutionary technology. Even the DS is a scaled-up version of existing tech + developments of power generators that can handle pushing the damn things through interstellar distances and obliterate worlds. Just looking at the vehicle roster for EaW, we have the Venator, Victory, Acclamator (CW) and Imperator (developed during the CW, produced shortly after). On the land-side, there's the AT-ST, AT-AP (CW), AT-AT (first deployed during the CW, then redesigned and ressurected approx. 10 years after the CW), the 2-M repulsortank (based on the TX-130S which was first deployed during the CW) and the SPMA (scaled-down version of the SPHA, which in turn came from the CW as well). Anything truly new comes from starfighter technology, shuttles and other landing craft, plus minor ships and armored vehicles. The MT-AT was developed later, I believe. As for Endor, we only saw a battle taking place around the rear entry of the complex. Most of the troops and vehicles would have been concentrated around the main parts of it. Possibly too far from reaching the main battlefield.
  13. Coruscant's under siege!
  14. Probably just thinks it's nice. Funny how I've never seen an Acclamator from the front before. Every picture I've ever seen has shown it from the side. Edit: http://starwars.wikicities.com/images/4/4e/Imperial_Fleet.jpg Venator http://starwars.wikicities.com/images/4/4b/Acclamator.jpg Acclamator
  15. Not likely. At the time before and during ANH, Vader used at least one Imperial Mk. I destroyer as his flagship. That was my favorite part, the rainy plains with tall grass. Very atmospheric. I did notice a potentially new unit, some kind of spinning "spider"-like machine. What was that? Delphi?
  16. According to the new Essential Chronology, the stealing of the X-wings is a canon event which was selected to "represent" EAW in the book. (Or hype it ) Nice visuals, though. Only complaint is that we did not see any really "new" units since the last trailer. The people in Petroglyph are sneaky... Still need to go frame-by-frame to study some of the more crowded and blurry shots.
  17. *Looks at the pic* Two AT-ATs coming down, an AT-AP toppled over and a SPMA-T with its legs to the side. Yep, must be Rebel propaganda. ;P
  18. Actually, with the planet-stubs it comes over 3000 named planets. If we get more as time goes on, we might one day reach Han Solo's "2 million inhabited systems" line.
  19. That would be more than 80. Believe me. =O SW Wiki has at least 1181 and counting. That's just the planets, there's also all the moons in addition. And asteroid colonies.
  20. I'd like to see some of the bigger dagger-ships in the Imperial fleet. All the RPG-inspired material is fine for small conflicts, but I really enjoy seeing the big ships strut around. Case in point: http://starwars.wikicities.com/images/1/17/Vengeance.jpg http://starwars.wikicities.com/images/thumb/8/8c/507px-DVSD.JPG We've had Star Cruisers, Star Battlecruisers and Star Dreadnoughts mentioned, but not seen. Would love to have an expansion pack that shed some light on the "bigger than ISDs, smaller than Exes" ships. =/
  21. Lets see, it's dead-certain to include all the film planets, that would give us: Naboo, Tatooine, Coruscant, Kamino, Geonosis, Utapau, Kashyyyk, Mygeeto, Felucia, Cato Neimoidia, Saleucami, Mustafar, Polis Massa, Alderaan, Yavin IV, Hoth, Dagobah, Bespin, Endor. Most likely add-ons: Dantooine, Mon Calamari, Corellia, Ord Mantell, Ryloth, Chandrila, Kuat, Neimoidia, Muunilinst... 28 so far... Anyone seen/heard more names?
  22. From what I read on the Lucasarts forum, he just said it would come "soon", not specifically November 1st.
  23. Thanks! Just keep in mind, I might have flubbed some of the designs (mostly due to lack of good side-view pictures) The AT-OT and MT-AT in particular might not be exactly right in terms of size (since the MT-AT wasn't stationary I had to guess the average length).
  24. Nice con title, there. Better change it to "Rumors say" rather than implying its all in this thread. ;P
  25. Yes, the XR-85 "Mk I" was much, much smaller and compact. The "Mk II" was said to be twice the size of an AT-AT. Now, this was when all the tech manuals had a 15 meter tall AT-AT, making the XR-85 approx. 30 meters tall. However, when the AT-AT-scale was upgraded to conform to the size seen in the films, I checked with Dark Empire I (where the XR-85 is seen battling AT-ATs during the Imperial Civil War) and it looked only slightly bigger than them (and therefore not two times larger, i.e 44 meters tall), so I kept the 30 meter length when making this.
