  1. Desert conditions would most likely merit a "sandy" colorscheme, light brown/orange.
  2. If its on the official site and later on seen in the demo, then it's in.
  3. Yep, the Loronar turbolaser artillery is possibly the biggest ground unit available (although it flies). The HAVw A6 Juggernaut and XR-85 droid tank also trumph it. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a242/CptK/vehiclesscale.jpg
  4. They're all nice, just be careful about the scaling, as some vessels are different in size from what's pictured here, i.e the A6 Juggernaut being about twice as big as the A5.
  5. Nope, that's just fanon, I'm afraid.
  6. Since there's several lava-worlds in SW dating back to material before ROTS even began production, I don't think it's right to call them rip-offs of Mustafar. However, I never heard of this planet before the game. Any other sources where it appears?
  7. The Sovereign is smaller than that, 15 km or so. The pic is just fanwank. Even so, with the Empire constructing at least seven superweapons (Eye of Palpatine ---> DS prototype ---> DS I ---> Tarkin ---> DS II ---> "The Twins"), tens of thousands of Star Destroyers (ISD-I and II), multiple classes of ships bigger than ISDs, dozens of Executors, keeping city-worlds like Coruscant supplied with food and other resources etc. this ain't more than a drop in the budgetary ocean.
  8. I suddenly remembered other aspects of long-range AT-AT fire: General Veers appeared to only use his targeting scopes when firing on the generator, leaving the closer targets to his gunner. He also ordered "maximum firepower" to penetrate the armor of the generator. I assume "maximum firepower" can't be used indiscriminently, as even energy weapons have limited ammo. Would it be possible to add "targeting" features to a mod, or is that out of reach for a game like this?
  9. I would think that the longer you can shoot, the more inaccurate your shots will be and the more energy will be dissapated before reaching the target... The generator in ESB was a fairly big structure, there was no telling what would have happened, had the AT-AT tried to hit a smaller, mobile target at that range. Another factor is the use of projectile cannons, like the ones on the AT-AP and AT-TE. Size ain't necessarily the issue, if you can shoot something beyond your field of vision.
  10. I'm not sure which scene you're talking about, are you referring to the one where a Munificent frigate explodes and one of the red pieces of shrapnel crashes against a Venator's hull? It could have had its shields down while firing the blue beam and not get them up before the shrapnel hit. Either way, the Venator's hull was more than enough to withstand it. Or are you referring to the scene where another Venator and the Invisible Hand fire at point-blank range and the bolts hit each hull? Could be the same thing here, the cannons on each need free room to fire, otherwise the bolts/projectiles will hit their own ship's shield.
  11. Since half its top come off and go down to each side prior to firing, I'd say, yes, it has to stay still to shoot.
  12. Which is exactly what happens 90% of the time in SW. You need ground vehicles (tracked, wheeled or legged) to push through the shield and deactivate its generator(s). Well, I'm glad to see this brain-bug is partially discarded. I've never heard of the "generator outside the shield" other than in one of two EU stories. The movies and other stories had them safely inside the shields, so this is an improvement. Judging from the dialogue in ESB, "It is strong enough to deflect any bombardement", even projectiles cannot enter. The only indication we've had of shield-entry in the movies, is through slow-moving ground vehicles. There's also the rebel fighter passing through the DS I's magnetic field, but that may have been due to the shield being aimed at stopping larger vessels. Either way, sounds good.
  13. With a galaxy-wide scale, it makes more sense to have more, rather than less units. It's one of the things I agree with, as long as they don't conflict with established continuity.
  14. Most RL artillery guns need scouts to point out a target, as their range is usually bigger than their line-of-sight.
  15. Most EU serve only one purpose for me: filling up encyclopedias and SW timelines. That way I can learn about events without going through horrifically made stories. If I can enjoy the stories on their own, then that's just icing on the cake. ;P Btw, I have good hopes for the Post-ROTS pre-ANH TV series coming out in a few years. I'm sure they'll do a more thorough job than with random book nr 7631238. Hell, might even get us a few more units to bitch about ("Why wasn't this in EAW three YEARS ago...!!!!!) j/k
  16. Since there's some units lacking, I would think this applies to the planet-section as well. Be patient, or bring your mod-kit.
  17. What the hell... this has been asked hundreds of times before. NO, it is not like Rebellion. Any similarities are purely coincidential.
  18. The Mon Calamari lent their support and their ships to the Rebellion before ANH.
  19. I'm not talking of kills, I'm talking of military success, in terms of planets taken or defended. Stuff like that. It's possible we'll get company names when the game is released, so I'd suggest waiting until then.
  20. Yes, and extensive mods have already gone into pre-production. Areas covered are, the clone wars, the galactic civil war with more units, and the post-ROTJ era.
  21. Its both. Colonists from Bestine formed the Bestine settlement on Tatooine. Jek Porkins is from Bestine, I believe. (Also called Bestine IV.) The planet was even mentioned in an ANH cut-scene. Rings around that planet. Might be Geonosis. Yeah, that looks really ridiculous. One guy taking multiple shots from an AT-ST? Modders, where are you? I agree. As well as clubs, arrows (get lucky and hit the body-glove) and catapults. lol That's the shield, I think.
  22. I see the ISP (swamp speeder) isn't mentioned. Hope this means there are even more units left.
  23. Better yet, see the concept art: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a242/CptK/MPTL-2a_concept.jpg
  24. Ever heard of Anti-Aircraft Artillery? All Terrain Ion Cannon. That says pretty clearly what it's focused on, fielding a big ion cannon on its back.
  25. There's some ewoks in Dark Empire armed with mini-bowcasters and a rocket-launcher.
