  1. I think the main issue is that we had so many ideas about how good this game was going to be that are now being proven false that we are left trying to see what it is that will make this game better than something else we could spend our money on. For myself, I was hoping for a Rebellion replacement.
  2. Speaking of which, does anyone know if there will be a time counter? So we can see how long it took, etc?
  3. This is a very big problem. And without seeing how it is locked, or not supported, I don't know how he could answer that right now. We will have to wait and see. The best indicator will be what can be done with the demo.
  4. They can't really. Even if they wanted to pull out now, they couldn't without sacrificing their company. Contracts are signed (in blood probably) when you purchase a license to use in a game. It looks like LEC put alot of control in their own hands as part of the deal as well.
  5. Not until I see the whole thing fully rendered with a skin. Then I will give it to the Rebels... well, I will give them alot of energy from it anyway >8-}
  6. Heh, sorry GS, missed these. #1 is a problem because he said in the last answers that he can't release more info on moddability. I really would like to know the answer to this one for a couple of reasons though. #2 Is a good question, but I think that it was said that only chewie can and only an AT-ST. (correct me if I am wrong on this) #3 Is a good one if he can answer it. Direct IP is an absolute must for this game. No point dealing with the cruddy (better word would be filtered ) Gamespy system when you are just playing with 1 other person...
  7. That isn't the SSD! This isn't the ship you are looking for... move along, move along.
  8. The problem I see is that there are too many people that will buy this game because it is Star Wars and also because it is a Star Wars RTS. This means that Lucas Arts can make their money and the few of us who may or may not protest by holding off buying it or not buying it altogether will be drowned out in the storm.
  9. Infinite... No Death Star II in EAW.
  10. Well, the problem is that Petroglyph has been trying to make it moddable from the start which means that LEC could see that and order them to make it non-moddable. A game that is not designed to be modded can be, but one that is designed to not be modded can not be modded legally, in most cases. This is my worry, that LEC will tell them to block as many mod techniques as possible. I fervently hope I am wrong...
  11. Then he has all the time he needs, huh?
  12. This is what alot of us are complaining about with the different direction this game seems to be going. I smell LEC's hand in all of this.
  13. That is very wierd. Where do you live noian? Our Hastings stopped renting PC games over 5 years ago! I have never heard of PC games for borrow at a library either.
  14. The movies were a big publicity holovid ploy by the Rebel Alliance. The Empire would not have fallen so easily.
  15. The problem is that he said that the game will not be moddable out of the box and neither will the demo. Any moddability will have to be supported by tools that Petroglyph releases and that is up to LEC, which is the problem. Alot of us are afraid that LEC will block any mod attempts if they have the option to protect their interests if they want to do a sequel or expansion pack.
  16. I think that #1 here is too open ended to warrant using one of our 5 questions on, but #3 may be an excellent question to replace my #5. Maybe it could read: "If the empire loses the Death Star in the galactic 1v1 multiplayer is it possible for the empire player to build another one? If so, will the time to build it be the same as the first time?" What you think?
  17. The only problem with that is that we are now unsure as to whether or not modding will be possible now.
  18. Uh, this could get ugly. I think the Rebel starfighter advantage will be a big balance hole, because I don't think that they will model the Imperial starship advantage accurately. A Mon Cal should not be able to go toe-to-toe with an ISD.
  19. I can't modify the poll now, but I would chose #4 if I were you. Seems the best fit to what you described.
  20. Hmmm, then I guess we can bet on the shields being moddelled as 1-way mirrors in the game though, right?
  21. Some of these have already been answered (correct me if not). 2. Heros can be brought back after they die, only not in the same skirmish. 5. People can not be trained to be jedi, so no Jedi Luke in this one. They stay the way they start in the game.
  22. Good point. I am probably forgetting but does anyone know if the shields have to be dropped to let attacks out? Talking microseconds here, but still. Or do the shields work like a 1-way mirror?
  23. I was about >.< close to pre-ordering the collector's edition of EAW yesterday. But what stopped me was all of the changes that we have been seeing between what the game was presented as and what it is being revealed as. I am curious if anyone else has already pre-ordered, bought outright online, are waiting to try the demo, etc. When you make an answer, please post as to why.. thanks.
  24. How about this: How will you prevent all space battles from becoming the same? With such a small unit limit, people will be discovering the "perfect" combination of units and posting them online. It could turn into the same type of things as build orders in Starcraft. Wouldn't this detract from the entire space battle experience?
  25. I don't know what your previous post contained but I think this one is right on target. I feel this is a response to those who flame anyone who says something negative about the road EAW is apparently taking, and I agree for the most part. There are a host of things that this game is turning into that are direct contradictions to what we expected as it was being developed. If we don't voice our concerns, there is no hope that anything will change for the better on its own. Our voices may fall on deaf ears, but that is better than not saying anything at all.
