Hey, that's not bad at all. I was expecting a much worse price. I'm quite likely to get that then.
-
Any idea of a cost yet? I wouldn't mind having them, but not if it straps me for cash. Live on as little money as possible... that's the student way.

The SD does seem to take some fire from the right hand side of the screen, but nothing I could see as inflicting that kind of damage. I don't see any attack from the Neb-B. The red shot passes the wrong way, so it isn't that... There's a green explosion on the underside of the ship from what I could tell, and while moving it seems it could be from the planet below. With such a quick glimpse it's hard to tell. Then again, it's possible they adjusted the stats of that SD to make it explode for only a cinematic effect, specifically for that second trailer. Whatever did hit it though packs one hell of a punch.

Empire At War Trailer 2 - Feedback - 006
Darkmark replied to Cain's topic in EAW Issue Reports and Tech Support
Ok, my opinions of the second trailer. Positive A very nice display of the environments. I mention the way it was displayed to us, but I did like the scenes/effects chosen for the trailer. Vader sounds. He's slightly off during that first section of speech, but somewhere through that first line he gets it. From that point on he seems pretty flawess in my opinion. Sounds in general. That includes music. They're done very well, and fit the piece nicely. negative I felt the parts where it spelt out what was happening for an audience (for example the displayed words 'the environments' or 'the creatures') It's similar to the criticism I suggested about the first one, where I found it to be pointing out the obvious. We aren't fools, we can work out what is what, and I feel to split them into sections like that was a little unnecessary... I do hope that we don't hear Han's voice in there. If that one we heard when we saw him was him speaking I'm sure that's off. Nobody in the trailer sounded like Harrison Ford. I'll add more as I get more time. -
They might be better done as ingame replays. Don't get me wrong, a film like that would be useful, but if it is possible to save battle replays they would probably be more useful to learn from than one designed to show the battle cinematically. In that sense, it's less a mini-series as a set of strategy videos. Also, sorry if anyone did post on our forums. I woke up this morning to find them down again . They are new, so we still have kinks to sort out... just PM me on these forums for the meanwhile instead, that'll do.

Ok, I know it's slightly off topic, but to make them use their mouth you have to spend a bit of time being clever with the taunts. What we've been doing is replacing the taunt file with our own scripted piece, along with the gaps where other characters would be speaking. You then start filming where everyone taunts at once. As a consequence, they all begin the converstaion you just set up as their taunt. Original testing for that was fun, I had Luke singing away some random mp3 I put in. It has some errors sometimes, but we seem to work them out. JA+ I find good for action, like lightsaber fights, but there's a better mod for emotions I was recommended a while back by the UKMercs (Made Great and Majestic Empire) known as 'Lost Hope'. It's old now, but has more emotes than JA. I hope that makes sense. I don't want to get too off topic here, but if there's anything there that didn't make sense you can ask me in a PM or on the new Forced forums we just set up (Follow the sig).

The project team I lead only really struggles finding voice actors really. That and one damn model that will be complete at some point... Nice to hear about that Stellar. If you have a website or anything I'd be interested to see it, since ours is also filmed with JA and follows the similar RvsB kind of set up. Dark Jedi vs Jedi in ours though. Incompetant, blundering Jedi make for so much fun. Problem is I have to rewrite the script a third time because I wrote too much... Half an hour per episode we estimated Originally we planned to just continue to film with JA for the flight/battle scenes simply because we had the network set up for that purpose, but depending on the camera control, EAW may well be a much easier and more cinematic platform to use.

Obi-Wan: When I said I'd give you a piggy-back, I expected you to climb on my back. That's how it works see...
-
For me, I really can see the potential there. It would allow you to create some epic battles and recording of movement. Truely it depends on how flexable the camera is, and whether there is a camera control for close movement besides the battle cam. You know, I'd really like to see a machinima comedy based on the star wars universe... that's be really cool. Oh wait. I'm already doing that. See the sig.

1) Yoda is gets his first vision of the events transpiring on Jabba's sail barge... Leia 2) It's only after catching the spider that Thrawn realised that you can't open windows to let them out on a Star Destroyer... 3) Palpatine finally begins to regret those years of excessive pinball machine gaming as arthritis sets in.

haven't got AIM

OMG, I love the terrain/weather conditions in that. Snow... lava... Even the rain is great. Sarlacc. Geonosians. That's one hell of a lot of info to digest all at once. Boba... We knew he was in, but he's just so cool there... Also I see Han without Chewie, when we know they exist as one unit... Maybe they can be seperated.

Ismael has recently announced in the general discussion the release of the second EAW by Lucasarts. Check it out. There's also the shorter IGN/Gamespy one which is old, but focuses spcifically on the space battle and death star use. Shows pretty much the same thing DS wise, and won't take hours to download on slower connections. http://media.pc.ign.com/media/713/713904/vids_1.html

Think of it as a hero. Can you sell heroes? NO. I figure since it's such an important part of the storyline, scapping it seems a bit pointless. If you've got nothing else other than the DS left to scap then you're probably already fighting a lost battle.

I think the suggestion was you had the choice of how many planets (Small, Medium, Large kind of thing), so you wouldn't have to play with the largest amount.
-
Exactly.
-
multiplayer only is very unlikely, so I'm thinking we're very likely get a select part of the SP campaign. Whether we get multiplayer with that is anyone's guess.
-
Really? I must have missed that. All of the recent 'confirmation' I've seen seem to be based entirely on this one article. If LEC Rogue confirmed 80 planets though, well that's a different matter.
-
Yeah, you're not a bad admin as far as I'm aware. I can suggest much worse choices for being an admin, myself included. Everyone's entited to their opinion, and we all stick up for our own. That's how forums work. As long as you aren't abusing that power, it's all good.
-
Uh, aren't we jumping the gun a bit. I think they're more likely confused and acting on old info. Think eighty environments. Yeah, that's 40 planets. I know they say planets, but if you recall all the old info 40 was what we were originally meant to expect, with 40 ground areas and 40 space. I think one preview with many flaws doesn't make a good set of information to base new ideas upon. I'm remaining sceptical of what they say and actually mean.

The question was: "what do you get when you multiply six by nine" At least that's if we choose to believe what Restaurant at the End of the Universe tells us. Getting back to the original question posed here, I personally don't think life does it, I'm pretty sure that white stuff comes from birds.

How Will You Play SW:Empire at War Once It Comes Out?
Darkmark replied to CommandoGamer's topic in EAW General Discussion
You'd also be surprised quite how many already were long before EAW came along. Myself included. Wibble... I'm willing to bet I wouldn't stand much of a chance against Delphi. I'm generally a decent player, but to be arrogant enough to believe I could beat the guys who made the game is beyond me. Wibble... -
Look, if I'm an English student and can tolerate poor spelling on forums, surely you guys can. Swift's right, I've seen so much worse, and would probably not be here half as much given that. Also I'm pretty sure I've got my fair share of misspelled typos here. It just happens once in a whle ...and don't even get me started on English-english and American-english...
