  1. Thanks Nevets, saves me looking now
  2. It all depends whether I can get 'Darkmark' before those other wannabies nick my name... If they do you may face the wrath of Griphyne instead. Might have to make myself captain or commander or something as well... Either way, your bases will be mine.
  3. Zelda: Link to the Past.... Link to the Past.... I think I ned to sit down now.

Nope, he's a Koopa... King of the videogame Koopas
  5. Wasn't there also one which showed Boba Fett and co in the top right hand corner, or am I just imagining it? If it wasn't so late I'd go on a hunt for it, but I'll save it for tomorrow...
  6. Like Delphi said, heroes... I figure a fair few of the rebels heroes might posess some skills that would allow them to scout early game...
  7. Delphi, you say the capital ships will naturally avoid the asteroid fields. In Star Trek Armada they also implemented this kind of system, however in much larger groups of ships, the outer ships would find themselves in the nebulas (in EAW the asteroid fields) simply because they were 'pushed' there by the grouped ships at the centre. My point being, I'm expecting this won't be the case for EAW... I don't like the idea that my outer grouped capital ships will get damaged if I pass close by to asteroid fields. Most of my other concerns regarding unit AI are similar to Swiftdraw's concerns where he compared the unit AI to DOW, where the lesser units get pushed aside... or just refuse to move for the others. Spending valuable time getting them moving again isn't helpful when you need those seconds to 'make or break the battle'.

You've just got to love the straining sound he makes when he struggles to jump higher... and the pain in his yells when he dies... The king of videogame dinosaurs...
  9. One's political satire, and one just seems to do popular culture... although truth be told they both do Bush very well... ~ "My fellow animaniacs..."
  10. Probably because he knew members/mods/admin of this forum wouldn't tollerate it. Besides, we have actual game information here. He looks and acts like he doesn't wants to know anything about the game, just about disturbing the community.
  11. fill all the empty slots with insanes. But not on the same team. They'll fight each other to be the top insane one... lvl 10 heroes here we come
  12. Truth be told, they've done more to harm the reputation of the LEC forums than the noobish questions and replies ever could have. They could do with another full time moderator, from the sound of things LECRogue just doesn't have the time to look after it. If it helps, you're not an idiot.
  13. Galactic battlegrounds. Ok, it isn't perfect to compare, but it is a SW rts. In the end we can only compare it to whatever we know, but we do have to be careful about expecting it to follow its predecessors too closely. I wouldn't expect it to be a rebellion 2 any more than I'd expect it to be Galactic Battlegrounds 2. I expect a unique, new game... and I hope that's how most people do see it.
  14. Not literally I'm sure, but yes we all share the sentiment. Welcome.
  15. Being pretty much neutral to everyone, Darkmark decides he doesn't really need to participate in all this power grabbing. Hell, he's been hadokened and hit in the face by a death star lazer, and already has a whole heap of cool powers. He's got telekenisis, psychic abilities that can stretch beyond the edge of the galaxy, the ability to fly and survive in space despite no additional equiptment, lightning eyes, fire from his fists... I think that's pretty good for an average Joe. He doesn't need a universe and more power to keep him happy... He briefly supposes that if he was to go down the 'good' path he really should try to stop all those remaining few Fobdos that actually did as they were told and headed out into the galaxy. Now is the time for action. Off to stop the remaining Fobdos it is.
  16. I went for music, but it was a close one with ships and heroes. I think if I had considered it just as music instead of 'Sound effects and atmospheric sounds, with musical backing' it might have tipped in favor of the heroes. The thing is, without lightsaber sounds, without character voices, without the imperial march... well, it just wouldn't feel the same.
  17. Bremner, Bird and Fortune? No, no no fosh. Dead Ringers. That's John Coalshaw as Obi Wan. ...and yes, it is priceless, even having seen it before on TV.

Ocarina of time, Goldeneye... and prior to both of them Monkey Island 1 + 2. So much better than the later MI incarnations.
  19. Thanks Delphi. We look forward to getting them back.
  20. *...But swift has underestimated the annoyingness of the fobdo. It doesn't see the difference between friend and foe, it annoys all of them regardless, and since they're already in his vicinity they decide to start with him. Ironicly, the damage and trouble they cause to swift's hideout and experiments is far greater than any of us could ever have hoped to achieve. Across the other side of the universe, Darkmark discovers he has another new ability, the ability to set his hands on fire at will. Guess this training is beginning to pay off. Marshmallows anyone?*
  21. I don't think we'll get a new one. The old one was released with the Ep3 dvd, which suggests it's their final version. I'm not holding out for a new trailer, because it does seem unlikely in my opinion. EDIT: Something weird is going on here. Earlier it wouldn't let me post, and now it sticks my post in the centre of the topic. Bizarre.
  22. All your units are individuals and each named completely at random and have individual unit stats and personalities. Their graphical appearance is different, as in they all have completely randomly generated build, face, skin tones... individually battle scarred clothing, armour that gets marked as it gets attacked. Infinitely persistant dead bodies/weaponry/vehicles... and vehicles leave infinite tracks on the ground. True veterancy, units become better based on training and experience on the field, grow sluggish if left to eat donuts and camp all day. Units can recieve promotions, commendations. Additional resarched weaponry gets dispatched properly over time, so air drops and stealing enemy weapon caches. The environment has a real effect on an army's abilities, their momentum, accuracy, morale (proper random character morale, not bonus based. As in a recriut who is naturally hard as nails will have good morale, a weaker one might be intimidated by rain etc... Not necessarily affected by rank) Basically get it as close to being realistic as possible.
  23. Glad to hear about the support for mods, but I guess we knew this already in the fact that the files used by the engine are being made easily available to all potential modders. I wonder if we will see any joint software with the game in order that we can build our own worlds, custom scenarios etc with great ease. I'm thinking here of something along the lines of warcraft 3's world eitor. Basically a nice easy tool (Preferably a lot easier than the W3 one) to learn to create our own universe with and construct our own custom missions.
  24. Welcome to the forums Darkpower. Whoa, that's the third person today I've welcomed. When will the madness stop.
  25. Yes, welcome I currently store 10 clips, but to be honest some of them are a lot less interesting than others, and some of them are as old as January this year. I recommend the 47 minute film if you don't have that, although it repeats itself you get a good idea of the gameplay and features of the game. Basically have a good look through the old topics. Pretty much all those films I located through links here, so it just requires a little bit of searching for what you need, but they can be found.
