  1. Seems pretty good as it is now. Like you say, I'm sure you're missing some things though.
  2. Sorry, caught me on essay week. I'd like to, really, but this week just isn't possible. Hell, even just finding one hour worth of time to just moderate is pushing it for me. Damn pastoral and counter-pastoral 18th century verse.
  3. The question and answer will be back to us at some point, but we do have to realise that Petroglyph are under a lot of pressure to deliver at this point, and genuinely don't have the time to spend on it, whether this be getting approval from the LEC, or something more minor. It will come in due course, sooner hopefully more than later. As for the empireatwar.net diaries, I'm not certain. I'm sure someone else has a better idea of where you can find them.
  4. On topic? The topic is that we hit 15000 posts. So basically it's us celebrating... with mostly spam.
  5. Same. It flows nicely. Destruction. Clones. Droids. Cartoons. It's all good.
  6. An expansion seems better suited now that they've already pushed the release date back once. One and a half years in production is a little too much in my opinion, especially since they're so near now. Then, come it's release, give them one year more to do a good expansion with that stuff in. That makes sense.
  7. JA and JKA = Jedi Academy JKII = Jedi Knight II I think. JA is also JKIII in some circles, just to make it confusing.
  8. Yeah, I just feel a bit miffed. I was above good ol' Swiftdraw by 100 posts yesterday, and now I'm equal. It kinda makes me feel unwanted.
  9. ...why my post count has dropped by over 100? I tend to put a lot of effort into my posts when I make them, were they really all that bad?
  10. Nope. When you get here, it's like embracing the light. You are cleansed of the stupidity found on the LEC fourms.
  11. I probably can do. My JA is all set up for filming though.
  12. I don't think I'd want it to be toggleable (don't think that's an actual word ) but yes to it having a purpose on the battlefield. I figure Petroglyph is going to get this one right, from what we've seen so far, it's really given me an appreciation for the effort they are putting into their maps. I do have one fear regarding weather and similar effects. In games such as BFME, having weather effects could slow the computer down to a crawl, and even on more powerful computers would come to a crunch for 4-5 seconds while it worked out what it had to do. Modern weather effects and older computers aren't a combination you'd naturally equate to one another. I'd be interested, seeing how amazing the weather and scenery effects are, what their effect on computers is in terms of slowdown.
  13. The only main reason I can see in favor respawn is a slight matter of balance. I suppose it might be considered in terms of 'fun' depending on how you look at it. Basically consider an equal battle. 50/50 exactly. The two armies clash, and there is no clear winner, both have few units left over. The heroes clash. Now say if your one hero gets taken down and your enemy on 1hp then retreats his a short ditance again to heal. Now the balance is a lot more in his favor. So much so that all hope of regaining the upper hand is gone instantly without being able the chance of getting a hero back. Then again this does depend on how much damage normal units do to heroes, but still it might get frustrating fast. One error of 2-3hp and you lose a game. Petroglyph want it to be about tactics and skill of a player, and if that means they can have a respawn to help pull back from that defeat then I can see their reasoning. Still, I can also see it being my fault if I lost that way for not taking better care of my hero. I'd much rather see them truely dead. They aren't gods. I wouldn't want them to be.
  14. Get some damn good moderators and apply a tougher approach seems to be a good start. The problem is that despite the new staff there, there isn't a great deal of chance other than some people being banned. Even so, some of those who used to spam it and troll are still there. How they can't have noticed them is beyond me. I go there once in a blue moon, and even I can see it. So yes. Public examples. Burn the heretics.
  15. Tied to the unit? I assume Delphi means in the Han-Chewbacca sense. What possible unit could have Twi-lek dancers? Maybe... a Hutt.
  16. Counter-strike or DOW are good for me. I don't have have others.
  17. You have to be careful with them. If they have a strong defensive force, it could easily overwhelm one half of your split force. Once that's happened, you can be sure they'll go about hunting down the rest. They may also split their army too, so then the battle becomes more about how much control you have over two seperate armies. There are plenty of possibilities for what your enemy can do in that situation. But, since they're on defence, you probably can't expect them to stray too far from their base without some leftover base support. This probably wouldn't be too good for a full attack, but like I said, hit and running could probably make it worthwhile. For full attack, my opinion is to keep the force together but attack from a direction they least expect, instead of splitting it too much. The element of surprise with that is probably better in that case than the split army variety.
  18. I'm still fond of the old one. You know, the one they had all the way back when Monkey Island and Fate of Atlantis were released... Ah, the good old days.
  19. Then I'm the count... One, two... three posts... Mwuhahaha.
  20. Yep, dead is dead. No respawn. If you are foolish enough to lose them when there's a retreat function, then you deserve to suffer the consequences.
  21. Whoo... pizza. It's even new pizza. I might be here a while. 300 people is damn good. I figure 350 is the next target, it seems to work in 50s.
  22. I point out I never killed anyone. Darkmark in it was more of a superhero... or maybe a supervillain. I never really worked out which. Neither did he. No kill count though.
  23. I can't decide, they're just both so good. I figure I'll probably go with whatever I feel like at the time. This may be swayed in favor of the Imps more, mainly depending on the 'coolness factor' of Tarkin...
  24. Yeah, I think I'd just called you Ghostly whatever you had your name as.
  25. I would assume so if you've captured another of those 'strategy points' (can't remember their actual name). I don't know if you can land without being near to one of them. Having said that, Delphi said they were easily captured, so I say why not. Capture two points either side of their main base and then use one in a hit and run distraction sense, while you prepare the other side for full invasion of their base. If the enemy likes chasing small armies then you're in luck. The only problem is with a split army you leave both smaller groups at the mercy of the large enemy one. True, it will take longer, and taking out their buildings will be a plus, but unless you can distract them long enough you may get heavy casualties. This might work well with the 'full retreat' we've seen. Hit and running bases this way could cause some damage that would take a while to recover from.
