Hostel was a sickening movie. It was one of those "horror" movies that was more gory than scary.

I've seen Saw and Saw II. I thought the first one was a great movie and the sequel wasn't bad. However, now it seems with III and IV they are really milking the cow. That is usually the way of horror films though. I just watched Mr. Brooks today on DVD. You all gotta rent this movie, as it is definitely one of the years best.

I finished reading Star Wars: Dark Lord - The Rise of Darth Vader. What can I say, it was a great read. It was rather interesting to see Vader adjust to not only his new life as a Sith, but also to being more of a cyborg. The ending was the icing on the cake. Right now I'm reading a classic: Dracula.

The dead, the dead, the dead.... I also have the Dawn of the Dead (remake), as well as The Return of the Living Dead (great 80's flick). I didn't mind the remake, and it was neat to see all of the cameos made by the actors from the original. However, it was not in the same league as the original film. It was neat to see a different take on the zombies, but I prefer the ones that creep and stumble about. I can tell you about a terrible zombie movie, and that is House of the Dead. It sucked beyond belief. Has anyone seen Resident Evil: Extinction? What did you think and how did it rate against its predecessors?

I own a copy of 1990's remake of Night of the Living Dead, and I love it too. I've got it along with Dawn of the Dead (original), Day of the Dead, and Land of the Dead.

Just got back from seeing 30 Days of Night. First off, I'll say this: No, it did not scare me. Most "horror" films don't. However, this is one of the few films I've seen in a long time where they tried to make vampires "scary". Most vampire movies portray them as romantic, elegant creatures who wear goth clothes and go around spouting off melodramatic gibberish. In this movie, they were pretty gruesome and vicious. If I had to compare it to something it would be like Night of the Living Dead, only with vampires instead of zombies.
