  1. A friend of mine saw it and he too is a Star Wars fan. He gave it a D+. He even fell asleep through 20 minutes of it.
  2. If he was immortal, why would he want to live in the forest for 400 years? Surely there would be better things to do that sit around and devolve into a beast.
  3. Bigfoot isn't real. Athlete's Foot is. But, Bigfoot definitely is not.
  4. Oh God, I did not need to see that...
  5. One of my favorite Bernie Mac memories: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVRmXc8PPqk He will be missed.
  6. That being said, I can tell you what race wouldn't win the Mrs. Middle Earth pageant. *shudder*
  7. Strangely, I find myself attracted to that female dwarf... I must consult my therapist about this in the next session.
  8. Actually, I do like EAW. Not as much as Rebellion, of course. Both games have the pluses and minuses.
  9. I still like to think Vader can absorb/deflect lightning. Maybe Palpatine's was too much, maybe Vader was too weak or not focused enough to pull the stunt off. Or, maybe Lucas just needed Vader to die and that was the most dramatic way to write him off.
  10. On a personal note, someone stole the tailgate off the back of my truck Wednesday night/Thursday morning. I hate thieves. On a lighter note, have you all seen the poster for the new Conan movie? http://movies.ign.com/dor/objects/34116/conan-the-barbarian-pka-king-conan-crown-of-iron/images/conan-the-barbarian-pka-king-conan-crown-of-iron-20080801113550354.html?page=mediaFull
  11. FINALLY... I emailed Lucasarts yesterday and when they got back with me they had a new solution. Go into Msconfig and under the boot menu, adjust the maximum amount of memory. Apparently, PCs with more that 3GB of RAM have trouble running the game. Anyway the game works now. Can you believe it? Oh, and guys, thanks for trying to help me. I appreciate it. May the Force be with you all.
  12. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game I don't know how many times, and I've done so as an administrator. I have Service pack 1. I've tried looking on that site but I don't see the solution you are talking about.
  13. The lion hug was awesome.
  14. That was one thing I liked about Romero's zombie films, that the cause of the rise of the zombies was a mystery.
  15. That I have tried, but it did not resolve the issue. Lucasarts tech support asked me to send a copy of my Logfile.txt and Except.txt files from the game which are in the C:\Program Files(x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption directory. The first time I looked for those files they were not present in that folder. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and this time the Except.txt did appear there, but the Logfile.txt did not. This is rather baffling.
  16. Wesley Snipes goes to Jail! http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/450253
  17. I'm not sure. How do you do that?
  18. If we are talking about the first two Resident Evil movies, they weren't that bad as far as being movies. However, they lacked the feel of the games. Play the Resident Evil remake for the Gamecube, or Resident Evil 2 or 3, and you will see what I mean. The atmosphere is different. The games are more horror, while the movies are action with some horror added into it. The third movie was like the first two, but it was lackluster. It's the kind of movie you watch once, return to the video store, and never watch again. The main character of all the movies is a woman named Alice, played by Milla Jovovich. Personally, I don't see the point of her being in the movies. She appears in none of the games. However, the main characters from some of the games make appearances in the movie, but they're supporting characters. It would be like making a Legend of Zelda movie, and making Link a supporting cast member to some newcomer that no one has ever heard before. This might be fine for someone who doesn't play the game, but for those of us who do we're like: "WTF chuck?"
  19. Now that is strange. What version of Vista do you have? Hopefully mine will do the same someday.
  20. Full Metal Jacket, along with Apocalypse Now and Platoon are my favorite war movies. All three are set in the Vietnam war era do a great job of showing how hellish war is. And while on the subject of Vietnam War movies, I have to give a nod to Jacob's Ladder. While it's not a "war movie", it deals with a soldier who was in Vietnam, who is now (for lack of a better word) haunted. It's one of the few horror movies that are actually good, rather than a cheap gore-fest.
  21. Huh, what? Someone say my name??? I saw World War Z in the bookstore the other day, and I was thinking of getting it. That's good the author is working with the film makers. You just can't have much faith in Hollywood these days. Look at what they did to Resident Evil.
  22. The way I look at it is that is how the game decided to divide up abilities and label them. Lucas probably didn't put that much thought into it. As far as canon goes, Negate and Rebuke could really just be the same thing.
  23. Well, I think I may have found an answer to this question. Only problem is, do we consider it canon, or not. I was at the bookstore last night and I came across the new Star Wars RPG manual. In it, it lists the Force powers characters can use. Two in particular caught my eye. One was called "Negate Energy" (or something like that). Basically, this allows a Force uses to negate energy from a weapon, such as a blaster or lightsaber. This section had a picture of Vader from ESB deflecting Han's blaster shots. Then there was another power called "Rebuke". This stated that a Force user could deflect or absorb Force attacks. So, if we go by this and consider it canon, it could be safe to assume that Vader has the ability to Negate Energy, but not Rebuke.
  24. Well, if you can believe it, Lucasarts still has yet to fix my issue. This is really disappointing.
  25. That is unfortunate. I expected more from Romero.
