  1. The suggestion that you may be making your contacts up is far from silly dude. Put yourself in everybody else's shoes: say for example I had said I had contact with the developers of Galactic Battlegrounds or Jedi Outcast before they were released; you as an obviously interested party would be more than curious to test my credability and authenticity in my claims of 'insider-knowledge.'
  2. How much space do we need ?! Will your friends at swrebelion will help ? Also I think we should decide for a team name this days. ...etc (*Mike = Michael Legg - Lead Programmer - Star Wars: Empire at War - President of Petroglyphg). May I suggest you getting 'your contacts' to contact the SWRebellion admin directly then (not via you). I'm sure the President of Petroglyh is anxious to extend his hand of friendship to us. Perhaps as proof of your continued communication with these programmers you FORWARD the emails and corrospondance with them to Evaders or Jedi Igor as PROOF you are in such contact, and not just making it all up. It would be a reasonably normal thing to do. I would have already done it in your position.
  3. Needa was the Imperial Officer who uttered the immortal words: 'Our first catch of the day!'
  4. This is actually wrong. A 'black-hole' is in effect a point of singularity (which cannot exist anywhere else in the universe). It is this point of space where all the matter of the black-hole is contained, and as such has lost all identity. At this singularity the laws of physics brake down completely. This is conveniantly obscured by the event-horizon, which basically means anything capable of falling into a black hole and looking over it's shoulder would see out universe age and die before it ever reached the singularity. So we are never going to know what exactly is the point of singularity. In effect there is no core, just a point of singularity, of zero size, which some physicists have labeled the 'Face of God.'
  5. That's some lurking dude! 2 post since feb 2004! Lurk no more...
  6. Hardcovers and me have never mixed. They're a pain in the arse when your standing on the London Underground trying to read one, and proove irritating even when lying in bed or in the bath. As you also pointed out paperbacks are muuuch cheaper as well.
  7. Dudes!!!! I only ever suggested we only use the films as a point of reference, and not expanded EU stuff to try and have a reasonable debate concerning the issue of this thread, given it would be impossible to do so with everyone quoting this and that and what they had for lunch besides! I said this before, but the magic of Star Wars is what ever it means to you personally. Just because I for example threw Darksaber into the ocean off the coast of Spain when I reached the final full-stop, someone else is perfectly entitled to have thought of it as a blast and treasure it on their own bookshelf! It goes for everything else to do with the mythos.
  8. My trip to the bookshop is gathering momentum!

I couldn't think of anything, but liked the image netherless. Perhaps it needs a Koala or a Mercat or something...
  10. I don't. Film books are slightly different, given they contain more of GL's vision than a lot of the daft stuff in the EU. For starters; the Sun Crusher: It's obviously capable of destroying an entire system; but why settle for that? The resulting supernova's radiation-wave would exterminate all life within a couple of hundred light years. All from one torpedo, from one fighter, locked away in the Maw Installation. A work of tactical genius, and EU crap. It's been invented once, so why not again. Galaxies contain about a hundred billion stars. I prefer my own SW universe to be a bit more true to the films and less out for lunch with the sprites. The EU doesn't entertain me much more than seeing 30's Flash Gordon footage , wild, fantastic, and ultimately completely stupid.
  11. Actually guys, I didn't do the last one (and forgot to point this out) the link was encoded so to prevent linking (why? ), so I just hosted it myself to get around this. Anyway, I found some excellent EPIII SPOILER stuff showing how Palpatine was corrupted to the Dark Side. It can be found by clicking here ---------- I used an earlier gif as source (you may have noticed) but experimented with blending options to get the blue glow, perhaps we can assume Palpatine used a little force-energy to motivate the dancer... ...
  12. ....I think I should do stuff like go to book shops more often...

  14. I utterly detest it and the rest of that techno gibberish; but live and let live as they say. Bolivia Manta-Los Mineros De Bolivia, on my rapidly decaying tape of tunes from a Chilian Radio Station, Radio Umbral, an ex gave me yonks ago...
  15. Something occured to me which may or may not have anything or everthing to do with Star Wars' continuity; in that George Lucas has remained aloof of the movie studio system... ... ...
  16. Dude, one point that was broadly agreed upon with this clone-idea was that we don't use anything other than the movies as a point of referance to compose our arguments, given that so much of the EU is quite frankly childish when trying to compose anything with any resembalnce of reality. I had assumed we all agreed on this; it appeared so. Ok then, this is canon: Darth Vader doesn't require food to exist. It appeared in some crap comic in the seventies so must be cannon. Also, General Veers got killed at Hoth, was in the book of ESB so must be Cannon. So there was another Veers during the assualt on Balmorra in Dark Empire. A mess isn't it. This is why reasoned arguments might want to ignore anything considered 'canon.' Most of it is so utterly daft.
  17. Here's food for thought. Part of the 'agreement' installing the game onto your HD is that you don't reverese engineer the game to obtain it's source code. With the source code the programmers could do all the stuff we have always wanted out of the game; larger galaxy, more options, no natural bloody disaster, more characters, more system options etc. Why has none of you given it a go? Respect to Lucas Film for being the money grabbing fiends they are, or inability to do so? One of you must be able to this reverse engineering-lark with Rebellion, laughing defiantly in the face of meaningless agreements no one reads, or has much repect for in any case given how neglected Rebellion has been over the years, and yet quite obviously still has massive appeal. So one of you of you bright sparks do the favor and obtain the source code.* *Of course Jahled is not endorsing anything illegal, so all this just might be a far out, typical, story associated with a wierd image, ultimately contributing to nothing (as per normal)
  18. Utilize http://groups.msn.com/YodasEars as you wish dude. For some wierd reason I pay for it. So it might as well be used for worthy ends...
  19. No gif-action for me GAT! But maybe i'm doing as Nelson did, and looking through the telescope with my blind eye...
  20. Sitting though the entire movie dressed as a Stormtrooper does require some imagination...
  21. Gosh. Well one could write for hours. So I wont. The UK is a member just like everybody else. We give Brussles lots of money and the Eu distributes it according to how the elected MEPs deem fit. Some of ends up being spent back in the UK. The EU passes laws which it's members more or less must comply with. As per normal most of the British press (being reactionary and right wing) wages a continued war of xenophobia against the Expanded Universe complaining about things like the head of the fishing commision being from a land-locked country (less chance of him being biased o gutter press fools) and the shape of bananas. From my less than knowledgable view of the EU, it seems like a healthy idea. We in the UK are just getting into an election campaign, and curiously the EU hasn't featured as a campaign issue, which may indicate that the British political spectrum, left, right, middle, upside down etc, has finally began to realize it's worth. Just my thoughts, I am no expert.
  22. Yet they let you visit a hive of scum and villany such as swrebellion.com? Educate your folks you must!
  23. I'm with Paul on this. Despite Star Wars being a kids film, I want to enjoy it without the noisy company of children, so watch it when they are at school I will!
  24. I need you to upload this...**drool mode**
